Welcome to the Deckbuilders' Challenge originally created by sdfkjgh! To participate in this Contest you'll have to design a deck along the contest guidelines and throw it into the arena with other competitors' entries! At the end of every two weeks, a winner will be determined by forum poll, and the winner decides the challenge for the next fortnight's Contest! Here we go, competitors: our 25th challenge! The winner of the “Mono-Rarity poll“ was Lady Mapi with...Bloody Eggs
The goal here is simple: have out two copies of Mirrodin Besieged, one on Mirran and one on Phyrexian. Then play Blood Funnel, and use all of our cantripping artifacts, artifact-based scry, and our artifact-based looters to fill our graveyard with artifacts, letting us win on our end step.
And the challenge issued by our winner was... I'd like you to pick three decks that have previously won this competition, and design a deck that has a good match-up with 1-2 of them and a bad match-up with the rest. Explain your reasoning. Please provide a decklist using deckstats, tappedout or similar. Feel free to add some comments as they will be included in the final poll. Please provide a deck name as well as choose a card to represent your deck in the poll. And now, time to begin the challenge! Best of luck, competitors!

I'll be honest, this challenge is too... hard. There are few decks made through these challenges, and then considering that they are in a wide variety of formats, makes this as good as impossible if you want to choose a specific format and not just choose any three without regard for format.
Choosing a single deck and then countering that would probably already be challenge and investment enough.
I'd like to hear another's input on this though.

I somewhat agree - In general I find that challenges that immediately hook posters with a simple but broad idea are generally the most successful, and denying a large chunk of the cardpool usually does more harm than good. For this challenge I don't think it's necessarily hard to pick three decks (one aggro, one control, one combo) and counter one, but it does seem like a lot of reading/writing upfront to write about four different decks. I.e. To me it seems more tedious than extremely difficult. I'm a bit curious about Lady Mapi 's thoguhts on the design logic for the challenge.

Going to try to help this challenge along by compiling brief summaries of previous winning decks: The Past 24 Winning Decks Dimir Suspend - Simple UB weenie control list using basic removal spells, old weenies, and tutors. Zhestra, Architect of Decay - Uses cards that quickly distribute a lot of +1/+1 counters like Aku Djinn or Evolutionary Escalation to control the board. Urabrask's Slagheap - Discard a lot of artifact cards to empower Slag Fiend. Pilot and Witch - The best Grixis Control pile I could make from a Strictly Worse Cube. Death's Delve - Sultai delve deck trying to land a fast turn 1 play via 4x Buried Ogre. Yuan Shao Commander - Menace and various other Red combat based keywords to create unfavorable combat steps. Magic Mirror Amass - Rush out The Magic Mirror and a large Eternal Army token, then boardwipe via Widespread Brutality for a win. Self Mill Heavyweights - Self milling via Breaking / Entering to cheaply play cards like Cryptic Serpent. Cruel Celebration - Aristocrats sacrifice deck trying to repeatedly trigger Cruel Celebrant. Solar Flares on Kederekt - Use Kederdekt Parasite and other normally situational draw-punisher cards to do a one-hit kill with Solar Flare. I Hate Lands - Elf Edition - Classic Elfball deck that uses no lands. Fruits and Vegetables - MonoG theme Commander deck based around general value. Survival Rule 782 Mutate and repeatedly clone Scute Swarm to overrun the opponent. Desecrated Idol - Cycle lots of weenies to play them again later via Desecrated Idol Wall to the Face - Flings walls empowered via Glyph of Destruction or Zektar Shrine Expedition tokens. Bladewing Creature Slinger - Imitates Arclight Phoenix decks by discarding Bladewing's Thrall into the graveyard and brings it back via Changelings. Super Sakashima Brothers - Blue Moon control package that supports repeatedly cloning Brothers Yamazaki via Sakashima of a Thousand Faces to swing in for large amounts of damage. Uprooted Army - Spams Forest/Mana generation so that the player can rush with generally awful Green cards like Plant Elemental. Elemental Frenzy - Elemental midrange value deck with various creature payoffs. Killer Bees - Prison control via Living Plane, Drop of Honey, and Moat. Bombshells from the Sky - Get three Bronze Bombshell in play, then donate then all with Sky Swallower. Omnath Locus and the Kingdom of The Jeweled Lotus - Rush out Omnath, Locus of Mana and pump him up with various 'bad' Lotuses such as Jeweled Lotus. Bloody Eggs - Get out two copies of Mirrodin Besieged, one on Mirran and one on Phyrexian, and then fill the graveyard with artifacts you can cast for free. Xayah and Rakan - Flyers themed Commander deck. Super short "Metagame Analysis":- Stompy (creature focused) decks featuring some combination of Temur colors ( ). - Graveyard value decks featuring and some other colors. - Bad Grixis ( ) control (including sub combination) decks are fairly common. Some feature a combo, some don't. - Off-meta decks include Selesnya Prison, Azorius Flyers, Orzhov Aristocrats, Mardu Wheels, and Abzan Counters, among others. Seems to be a very common off-meta color. I'd suggest just picking one of these four archetypes and focusing on on countering it.
