In the Arena, there is a town, among many others uncannily like it. Here, the masses worship a goddess of trials, seek care from their dearly trusted local apothecary, and trade goods that will one day find their way to other planes unknown. They have known many tyrants, from true demons, to petty pirates, to soulless deceivers with hearts of ice.
In these troubled lands, there is a knight errant with an undying, impossible dream. They can be seen atop their steed in the precipice of night, their conjured weapons of light shining against the dark. No one knows where they rest, if at all, but if one were to seek their name, or the very idea of them, then fate will conspire to unite the visitor with them, whether at a crossroads, a modest bridge, or in one of a multitude of identical taverns or ruins. The knight has scarcely ever been seen unarmored; perhaps in truth, or in the confusion of rumors, they are only known to be androgynous, with well-kept hair that reaches halfway down their back, and skin that is so pale that some would swear it is near translucent. Their middle age is apparent in the crow's feet about their eyes, and the creases of many scowls and smiles past.

guest system to poke with a friendlier character. means i've got no restrictions but also earn no valor (but you still will c:) The kithkin senses they are being watched as they examine the stuffed alligator. A second later, a young woman wearing boots tracked with mud steps into the door frame, seemingly from nowhere, clutching plants from at least three different regions. She briefly leans toward the alligator, then answers, "Costs nothing to pitch a rotting door, but something to replace it. This place'll be empty by winter anyway. I appreciate the concern, honestly, but thieves aren't any trouble."Apothecary's Alarm Artifact The first time a creature enters the battlefield each turn, you may untap an artifact you control. : Apothecary's Alarm becomes a 4/4 green Crocodile artifact creature with trample until end of turn. "And in his needy shop a tortoise hung, An alligator stuff'd, and other skins" -Romeo, Romeo and Juliet Clarifying Glass — I understand that it's not necessary to rate guest cards, but I'll try to get into the swing of things. Card essentially allows you to kick all creatures by 3 (and tokens as well) to draw a card, which is notably higher than the usual markup for cantripping. Card also essentially taps for 2 with restriction of being spent on sacrificing clues, but far more elegant. Also at the appropriate rarity. I'm not entirely certain it's the right cost, but otherwise, it's a clean and nice design. 9/10

You may reveal a noncreature, nonland card from it. If you do, draw a card. Draw a card. The apothecary smiles, though her eyes have narrowed, and there's a moment of silence. Then, with measured tone and enthusiasm stretched thin, she says "That sounds like a very interesting project. I'd love to hear more about it, and why I should answer its questions."Insincere Inquiry Sorcery For each card in target opponent's hand, that player loses 1 life and you gain 1 life unless they reveal that card. Then, choose up to one revealed card. That player discards that card. Prodding Questions — In certain environments, this might be so easy that I'd be tempted to move it to sorcery. However, it's otherwise great design, and I'm surprised that we haven't seen something like this in official already, especially as intersection of blue and black. 9/10

I see what you were going for here, especially with the option to pay for yourself, but the card costs a great deal for doing so little. You can draw everyone a card for far less and no additional payment, and it's not exactly a way to play politics considering there's no consequence for not complying. All in all, it does far too little for too much. At least it's fitting that it's an offer and not a threat. 7/10 *(edited with usual EPIC style in consideration)

"I'd love to speak about my trade more some time, but my trade is required at another shop. In the meanwhile, a good deal is there, and it's yours to read, feel free. Hopefully, you'll have found what you were looking for, by the time I return." She hurriedly strides out of the shop, and her footsteps vanish as soon as she is out of sight.Secrets Kept Sorcery Each player chooses up to three cards in their hand and discards the rest. Reach Through Memories — Now this one is far preferable to Beneficial Services. It seems appropriately costed, and now requires some form of cooperation, but it's missing its rarity, and the templating is questionable, with respect to you drawing off of your own draw. Not certain what the more elegant wording is though. 8/10A tall, armored figure strides into the small shop, his gaze impassive as he looks over the various items on display. Lettie opens the book to a page with a sketch of an enormous tower, ringed with balconies from which hang flowering vines. Bottomless Attachment for Goods — I once used something similar to the second ability for a legendary design. People liked that it could ramp by tapping. While gold design can focus on the totality of the color pair, this is less understandable when designing a planeswalker. The way the walker plays also means that they effectively are two statics with a clock for a huge tempo loss and a lot of card draw, which you can already get in a similar number of turns in a more tempo efficient manner. 6/10A well-dressed devil stumbles into Lettie's shop, rubbing their forehead. "So, what have you got for it?" She forces a smile and daydreams about how convenient it would be if she didn't have to jump between shops constantly. Perhaps some time out would be for the best.
Trapdoor Bulb Creature — Plant Flash Trapdoor Bulb enters the battlefield with indestructible and hexproof until end of turn. 2/1 Drunken Devil — We've gotten a haste berserking bear recently, and I'm not certain a little extra weight warrants the jump to 4 power. "Sure, a blade will do nicely." She puts down the vial, then a hand on the dagger, and lets go of the vial as picks up the dagger. "Good doing business with you." Oildrinker — Kind of funny that it doesn't remove the poison counters it puts on players. Also kind of funny seeing it get worded around planeswalkers the way it is. I've seen people try "nonloyalty" counters. It seems like a generally strong card, especially against certain decks, and would play on par without the damage ability due to being a 1/5 infect for 3 most of the time. I do appreciate the reversal of phyrexian influence also being expressed as lifegain, which can offset the phyrexian cost. 8/10The big cat looks as Lettie dissapears. "And they say I'm the one with bad behaviour..." He smells the air and cuts the air with his claw. Then, he dissapears in the breach. The small soon planeswalks after him.
In Lettie's new shop, the black cat emerges from the air, leaving a tilting breach behind him. He approaches the counter. "You don't have really good meownners, meowstress... You treat all your customers that way?" He shows a wide smile, and, while he looks relaxed, everything about him shouts DANGER. Before Lettie can answer, the small cat planeswalks into the shop. "Brother! Don't try to intimeowdate people just because they did something you disliked!" He turns to Lettie. "I'm sorry meowstress, and I apologize for whatever meow brother said." He relocates his hat and takes a look at the potions. "So, what do you sell, meowstress?" And after a little hesitation, he says. "Also, meow I ask your name."Hairball Alley Thug Creature - Cat Warrior Whenever ~ deals combat damage to a creature or player you may remove all non-poison counters from that creature or player. Seems like good tech against blue decks. 9/10 Lettie puts on a stiff expression as she feels under the counter for the dagger, or one of her sage and rosemary compounds. "As a matter of fact, I don't. I just find myself pressed for time all the time, and the last thing I need is my time wasted by someone looking for books on time travel in an apothecary's shop. Per my previous statement, that means I sell potions, poisons, oils, herbs, and some forms of alcohol, which would all have to be downsized considering most my customers aren't the size of housecats." She gives a glance aside to Khon, as she abandons her search. "You can all call me Lettie, by the way. Since we all seem to be walkers here, I hope it isn't too much trouble for us to walk and talk. Hairball Alley Thug — Could potentially be made more elegant if you say "any number", since counter removal is already a choice. I think this would be better expressed as pure black, since red isn't associated with counter stealing quite like blue and black. 7/10 "Heh, I'm already in the business of moving some of that, and can certainly getcha some of the rest. Can convert most kindsa currency too..." She reached for a pocket on the bag just before Lettie disappeared, turning back confused with her page.
"Hrm, well, if you can hear me still, keep in touch!" she said, scribbling a tiny map to her outpost on it, and setting it and a small box with a red button on the counter.PB&J Delivery Fastest service in the Verse! Perhaps the cat had a point.

"I don't know brother, but I feel like I should talk to her later." Both cats leave the shop.Sporemantle: I'm definitely not comfortable with this at uncommon. It's a very big attack deterrent so I feel like it should be rare. Also, I don't really like the giving counters by blocking with it. 6/10

Seething, Lettie returns to her shops and answers alarms, downing entire everwake potions in the brief moments of silence. She couldn't even have a moment to herself to read a damned book. Finally, for a good quarter of an hour, there is peace, and a chance for rest. Of course, if she were to fall asleep then and there, she would sleep through any alarms within at least the next few hours, dead to the world. She has another everwake potion for good measure, and instead thinks to herself, and recalls the general advice any apothecary worth their salt and sage knows:
Any cure in great enough measure is poison.
Falling asleep was too great a risk, but without sleep, her life in the Arena would drive her to an inevitable death by either exhaustion or everwake overdose. She could imagine it now, a choice between her spine and brain seizing up, or her heart exploding. At least they weren't the worst deaths she could experience. She could also leave the Arena. It was the first two shops in this place that brought on the seemingly endless barrage of customers. How could there be this many planeswalkers all the time in this corner of the multiverse? But now Pidge was peddling her wares not just in the Arena, but all over the multiverse as well. "Most everywhere", in Pidge's words. There'd be no way to compete, and the power to compete would be necessary to realizing this new life... especially if she wanted to ensure that "All of Everywhere" was off limits.
Lettie looks over her two books for the past unceasing business day. 'Flora and Fauna of Eralou', and 'Bioaetherics, Year 1'. Were she still a truly young woman, her life not yet surrendered to her inherited drudgery, she would read them cover to cover on the spot, not for power or knowledge, but the simple joy of doing so. Maybe if she were even younger, she'd then get away with talking people's ears off about it. But she can't be a child, not in this new life. Eralou is covered in lotuses of pure mana, and the bioaetherics of Volaria posed unique opportunities for distilling the purest essences of life and death. She had books on plants composed of both mana and aether, the fundamental components of summon magic, something nearly all those sparked possess. And then there was the child's off hand comment about 'script magic'. The very name sounded fundamental, powerful.
Powerful, indeed. There was far more power in the multiverse than could ever be dreamt of in the philosophy of the alchemists and wizards of home. Power held by the Eternity Project, and they couldn't be the only ones. Power in these yet unseen colors of mana wielded by the relatively normal, these challenges to the ordinary structure of five she had learned to respect for her first spells. This kind of power, she could use to at last live with dignity and pride, the least power of which would be finding time to sleep in this mad rush, time to live like a human and not as a soulless automaton. An automaton breaking down, at that. Such power of bought time would unlikely be hers; she knew black and green too well. However, there could yet be someone with such power in this Arena, and they could be bent through many means. The next break she'd get, she would find them.
Lettie Wormwood now has Rarity Upgrader. She can create Rare and Mythic Rare cards.

"I'm guessing you're not 'local', so I can speak of this freely. I've got my goods distributed through shops on several planes. Sorry for vanishing, by the way. I'm the only one staffing all of them." Lettie frowns as she feels the ripple still approaching her. "If you'd like, you can try following my trail to find the rest, and browse there." I do appreciate the reversal of phyrexian influence also being expressed as lifegain, which can offset the phyrexian cost. 8/10 I like this quite a bit - I've always been of the opinion that there need to be some options for removing poison counters from yourself, as well as for removing things like experience counters from opponents, in formats where those are relevant. And this presents an excellent way of doing so that isn't overbearing, and doesn't outright shut down those strategies. 10/10Khon nods, quickly studying the woman's unique aether signature as she vanishes from the shop. Taking a moment to reach out through the Eternities and locate it, he vanishes from the Arena himself, appearing near the woman. "It's no great matter," Lettie lies, stuffing the note and device she had been looking over into her pocket. "I've considered enlisting some non-planeswalker help, but they'd have to have training comparable to mine, as an apothecary at least, which might be difficult to match. Where I'm from, material components and ingredients of magic are crucial, and I haven't seen any other plane like that." Briefly, Lettie hoped that no other sparked had seen that plane. "Then there's the worry that they might, in their spare time, start digging through my books, and read all about all the other planes I've been studying. I understand that there are some interplanar initiatives, but they can't have reached all the ones I trade in, so I have to maintain that bit of secrecy. I also can't keep all of my wares in every shop for the same reason, so staff would have difficulty helping planeswalkers. There are very few people you can trust to run a shop full of this many dangerous items and this much potentially dangerous information. That, and I'd have to rework my alarms to account for any new staff."Solitary Bear Creature — Bear When Solitary Bear enters the battlefield, you may search your library for up to three cards named Solitary Bear, exile them, then shuffle your library. 2/2 Trace the Eternities — You've got some issues on your second mode, particularly the lack of shuffle clause, and the fact that the card can potentially go back into the hand or library, a hidden zone. You'd likely have to exile that card, then give it the impulse and mana spending effect. Otherwise, this is potentially a nasty card, as it can tutor a creature right out of an opponent's hand. Add in the fact that most creatures are sorcery speed, and that lobotomize effects typically are as well, and I'd say this should probably be a sorcery. Otherwise, things like colorless conversion only and lobotomize all crossed with steal one are good qualities. 7/10

"I was thinking if we maybe sent them to these Arena locations, where we could set up a teleportation grid, and then these two interplanar locations where I'll have to set up an aetheric oscillator and single-destination aether tunnel. That should be enough space for the cats, and get you some of your portals."Job Offer Instant Exile target creature. Its controller creates two Treasure tokens. "I got a job over in Entela.
