test This one was cunning. Smarts were good, cunning was better. There came a time where cunning outweighed the need for glory, and this was one of them. "Take what you've got, burn the rest!" shouted the head of the warband. A low yell erupted from her warriors, one of them throwing a torch onto a nearby straw roof, the material quickly catching fire once more. The assembled warriors soon turned and began to retreat, running towards the hills in the distance. Many had objects of value strapped to their backs, held in their hands, or otherwise on their person. They'd apparently made a good haul from the raid here. Kamwid looked to the alchemist as her fellow marauders began to depart, rushing from the scene of battle and away from the village. "Next time, try and show up before we finish with your village," the centaur spat, literally spitting in Lettie's direction before turning and following her warriors. She'd gotten what she came here for. {Response Card - Lay Waste} Unsteady Ground: Cool. 8/10

Lettie keeps a focused expression until she's spat at. Then her face breaks into a grotesque snarl, and she steps out of the plane into one of her shops, grabs an entire armful of dried mint, and stomps back onto the battlefield, a stone's throw away from where she estimates the warband would be, in the hills. She throws the mint onto the ground, and grinds it into the dirt with a boot. She shouts at Kamwid. "Next time, try running before I show up!"
A few raiders carrying objects of value might stumble as the sod of the earth contorts, and the blades of grass seem to grab at them. Then come the worms, bursting from the earth, drawn to luster and shine, swarming those who would have been the richest. First they are a formless mass, but then they begin to knit together into almost humanoid forms. Meanwhile, Lettie is ranting as loud as her lungs can handle. "You bitch, you think you and your trash can run from me, into hills where there are no innocents to get in the way? The salt of the earth belongs to me! You steal from them, you're stealing from me! I am Wormwood, the Bitter Star! I am the poison that fills this world! I'll kill every last one of you! Everything belongs to me! No fate eclipses mine! I'm- beginning, the- ...ending, utter dirt has no place- ...!" She continues, until she's screaming every curse that comes to mind, hardly knowing what she's saying, so full of sound and fury, and completely incoherent. The Worm that Walks Creature — Worm Horror The Worm that Walks enters the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter on it for each land card in a graveyard of your choice. 0/0 Lay Waste — Overall seems kind of weak. The noncreature artifact restriction seems arbitrary, and you have an 'or' in a modal spell. I appreciate the symmetry in land use and flavour though. 6/10

A wild look in its eyes as it looked at the amassing worms. One worm attempted to latch to the beast, only inciting a laugh as the measly creature withered against the beast's touch. Cackling, the summoned monster charged its way through the Worms that Walked, sloughing off their mass and claiming its power for itself. {Response Card - Patron of the Wilders} Kamwid left the beast to deal with Lettie and her summoned monsters, rushing along with her warband with her spoils. Lettie, who had been writing a letter, stands from her chair quick enough to knock it onto its back. She sees the bag the line is slithering out of, then puts up her left hand, fingers ready to snap, and growls, "Bitter stars, you're impatient. If you can speak, you'd better say something fast." Lettie shifts her stance somewhat, but keeps her hand raised, as flowers start sprouting through its skin. She winces. "...I do hate wasted... potential. But must they be my friends? I can think of a few... acquaintances."
Lettie consciously keeps from glancing back at the letter she was writing. Please say no. I have some ideas. Though genuinely losing here means they might move on from me, which will mean being able to act openly. Besides, after what happened with Pidge, it's not entirely undeserved. I'm ready. I've gone through far worse. I hope. Undying Recovery Instant Return to the battlefield all artifact, creature, enchantment, and land cards in your graveyard that were put there from the battlefield this turn. Doomsday Clock — This is a difficult one to evaluate, as slicing boardwipes across any property immediately jumps up the potential value (as you can build around that property). Cost also makes me leery considering it's colourless. It does require some smart play to take advantage of though. 8/10

This was a battle not worth fighting. Lettie cackles, as worms continue to rise from the earth, withering, vanishing into the beast. "Splendor! No, Life is a loathsome, squirming thing, that now lies within this beast! You've changed nothing!" As it charges, it trips over a leg, now reverted to worms, bloated, and rotting as they writhe. As the beast's arms meet the ground, the entire mass it has stolen returns to the same hideous worms- and they burst, releasing a rain of foul and blighted gore, coating the spoils that the warband has already dropped, killing more raiders, and barring the way back to the village. Lettie has already stepped ahead of the retreat one last time, and leers at Kamwid through the aether, with a grotesque sneer twisting her face, saying nothing. That was a proper summon just now. She's a planeswalker. And now, I can follow her. If Kamwid continues the retreat while she can, Lettie returns to the village to aid in salvaging the settlement.Emerge from the Host Sorcery Remove all counters from target creature. Then, for each counter removed this way, all creatures get -1/-1 until end of turn. Patron of the Wilders — So, there's a neat little bit of pie that lies within Sultai. We can see it in the likes of Bioshift and Fate Transfer. However, as far as I can tell, stealing the counters from creatures you don't control is typically a thing that black and blue do, and green not as much, as the spells green is involved in are largely friendly. As such this is a bit of strange bend, since it's creature removal that's a bit unlike green. That is, however, my only complaint. 8/10

Lettie takes a roundabout route returning to the bakery location, closing every single one of her shops, placing some of her wares within her coat, and smashing others to the ground, leaving as spores and vapors fly into the air. By the time she returns to the bag with her accursed letter, she's carrying a veritable arsenal, and her shawl is soaked with several neutralizers. She takes out the letter, and writes her response upon the parchment:This curious plague that spreads through friendship, making carriers of the beloved, incubating in joyous share'd fortune, before turning its wrath to the wretched.
Your point is long made, equivocator, and I, standing alone, accept this doom. Come then, see if you can inflict a curse, for I will see you soon, and have face'd worse. There is silence.

Perhaps she had, and the countermeasures had kept her away.
A book falls from its home onto the ground. Lettie may recognize An Incomplete Guide to Calavan. She grabs a vial of aether from her belt, rattles it until it's a mess of random potential, and hurls it into the floor, where it bursts into a celestial mist. In it, brief flickers of Feral Ornithaxes can be seen, briefly forming before being torn to shreds, and the flock of four are shredded likewise as the mist passes through them. Lettie quickly queries her alarms for any signs of J, then writes onto the parchment once more.Come then, I command you, no more minions, and face a wretched death, my dominion! The ornithax shriek as they dissolve as quickly as they had been created. The alarms show a grey mist permeating the shop. Mushrooms of all types begin to sprout from the walls, the floors, the ceilings, the books, every surface available becomes covered in greys and reds and whites of hundreds of toadstools. In Lettie's mind, a maze of fungus had built itself up inside her shop, and who knows how far beyond. A light hiss could be heard from behind her. She might not have much time to waste...Hallucination Trap Artifact Whenever an opponent casts a spell, they may discard two cards. If they do, sacrifice Hallucination Trap. Otherwise, they discard a card. "Round and round forever, or until you see through it. Knowing you though... that's going to be forever."Calling for Aid: 1x Mold Adder! As soon as Lettie reads the words "attempted murder of a government agent", the sight of a Linelan coin held by the woman cuts through her memory, and guilt bleeds into her mind, clouding her thoughts. They're not my friends. I knew this could happen. So why do I feel this way, still? She clutches her head, and reaches for a bottle of absinthe. As she dilutes it, she considers her next move. I could wait this out, but I have a unique opportunity to catch Kei by surprise. I did help them before, after all. I could turn EPIC's misfortune to my benefit once again. Lettie adds a last dash of sugar to the bottle, before taking a swig directly out of it. But to have attempted the murder of a member of the Eternity Project, and gotten away with it, they must be unusually dangerous. That, and my deadliest recipes are nowhere near as potent when used against planeswalkers. She takes another swig, turning the sweetness and bitterness over in her mouth. She is, however, an Entelan. A Volarian. I could create an elemental poison specifically designed for them. The Project might have just the information I need, then. Lettie puts the bottle down, and begins to mentally rehearse her lines.Lettie dresses herself as a veiled traveler, planeswalks as close as possible to the outpost, and approaches, with her letter in hand, and a focused scowl on her face. She speaks to the first member she meets. "Good day. I'm here to request detailed bioaetheric information on this target, and perhaps clarify whether or not they are wanted alive."Seasoned Stray Creature — Cat When Seasoned Stray enters the battlefield, reveal the top card of your library. If it's a creature card or land card, put it into your hand. 1/2 Broken Routine — Allowing the victim to scry 2 is similar to losing 2 life yourself, and is a nice dynamic in the early game. Thoughtseize, however, is discard, so I'm dinging that. 8/10 Leira moves from wherever she was standing to meet up with Lettie as she arrives. She hasn't drawn a weapon or channeled a spell before she notices the letter. She stays tense, but no longer possibly hostile. "Hi, okay, I can do that," she says as she takes a number of deep breaths. A few taps of her transceiver later, Leira's reading off the information she has.
"Okay, what we're looking at is a Volarian aethercaster. She's primarily using Darkness energy, based on Kaira's recollection and the energy that was floating around after she disappeared. Master Sara would like her to stay alive. We're not legally allowed to execute her and there's something she wants to say." Leira shrugs. "No power scripts to worry about, but can actually cast spells freely so she's got the upper hand against us."
Leira slides an image of the woman up from her transciever onto a projection that Lettie can see. Which is mostly meaningless to Lettie, aside from confirming what she knows as true.Seasoned Stray is great. I like the interaction with the scry instead of trying to answer the spell itself. 10/10 Released Essence Instant Creatures you don't control get -1/-1 until end of turn and gain "When this creature dies, target opponent creates a 1/1 white Spirit creature token." until end if turn.

Aetherblot - upside Eradicate, seems to be in the right place. 9/10 Lettie's learned mind begins to fill in the blanks, imagining a deadly mass of amanitas, webcaps, and dapperlings. With a swift stride, she begins running, looking all about, before she's even thought, trying to find an exit with her alarms. A pinch of spores from these things would kill her, before the snake could get her- and she hadn't even pulled up her kerchief. Idiot. She grabs it, a few seconds late, and stops in her tracks. Her kerchief was soaked with neutralizer, but it wasn't reacting to anything. She had brought it to keep herself from inhaling any of her own spores and vapours, and currently, the neutralizer was reacting with nothing at all. The seed of suspicion blossoms as Lettie realizes that she had only seen the mushrooms she had been thinking of while going through the worst possible scenario in her mind. Bitter stars, this is like my worst nights with absinthe, and I haven't got any of my usual sedatives. Laudanum comes close as a painkiller, but I might really start going mad if I take it. Lettie shakes her head, before pulling out a bottle of the stuff, and taking roughly a half a scruple of it under her tongue- she isn't quite sure, in her haste. She can feel a warmth spreading through her chest, and she takes deep breaths to hasten the slowing of her heart. She can see the adder coming through the fading phantasms now. It shouldn't have survived the pattern. No matter. If it could survive, it meant she had her own summons too... and the wood underneath her feet. Gaps appear in the floor as Lettie summons a treefolk to protect her, and she goes back to querying her alarms for any signs of J.Saffron Ancient Creature — Treefolk If a spell or ability an opponent controls causes you to discard Saffron Ancient, you may sacrifice a permanent. If you do, put Saffron Ancient onto the battlefield instead of putting it into your graveyard. 4/7 Hallucination Trap — Card seems somewhat weak, given that it can end up being nothing more than a mind rot your opponent can time themselves around. It's really quite nasty if your opponent is already out of cards, which means multiples should play well enough together. 8/10

Lettie looks over the projection, with a hint of annoyance in her scowl. If Kei were to see me involved, and testify about our earlier exchange, it would be a disaster. Best to remain a functionary, a mere supplier of death and misery. Lettie takes a moment to review some texts on bioaetherics. "It's definitely a problem if the royal you can't execute this criminal. Given that your casting is limited compared to hers, every back and forth that passes in this fight will make her victory more likely. That, and she would be able to retreat if not defeated immediately. An element of surprise, followed by a very short fight, would be best. The typical routine for such a situation is poison, followed by retreat, but the restriction on lethality, as well as your, uh, limited mobility, makes that somewhat difficult. The most vexing complication is that due to the environment of combat, the dose delivered is typically uncontrolled, with a large degree of variance. As such, we want something highly concentrated, and that has an upper limit on how dangerous it can be in the overdose. Right now, I think the only energy that fits the description is Thought, which we should be able to concentrate from a large amount of shadow mint, if the textbook Ani gave me is to be believed. Speaking of which, I'm going to need someone to advise me as I'm brewing the stuff, as my understanding is only that of a dilletante. I'll also be incorporating some mundane non-volarian wormwood, in order to increase the victim's proclivity to the desired result: a complete seizure." Lettie is silent for a moment, in order to allow the complete idea of what she has suggested to sink in. "I will only provide you with this drug, poison, whichever you would like to call it, should you desire it. The administration, then, would be up to you, and following its provision, you can consider my involvement in this matter largely concluded, barring compensation once the criminal has been apprehended. Are there any questions?"Bloated Morel Creature — Fungus When Bloated Morel dies, all creatures get -1/-1 until end of turn. 1/1 I can order the triggers how I prefer, since technically I control the death trigger from Released Essence. Released Essence — Please don't put the responsibility of negative triggers on the opponent. We have long learned from Pillory of the Sleepless. Otherwise, I think this is appropriately costed and coloured. 8/10

Eventually, she reaches a decision. "If you're willing to make... some of this poison, we'll accept it. You can talk to Seiva when this is all solved and she'll compensate you for it, whether it was put to use immediately or not."Fun that this abuses the fact that your creatures gain triggered abilities to work no matter whose turn it is. 9/10 (I figure Lettie'll have to go actually make a thing, she can do that and if you'd like to shortcut returning it to EPIC that can happen, or if you want to attack to do that, that's also cool. Or if Lettie's got more to say here, she can just reply here and I'll make another attack for her to respond to)

Lettie grabs a bough of rosemary, and decides that a little demon repellent isn't going to be enough. She hurls it at the creature's feet, where it explodes into a tangle of thorned branches, which try to wrap themselves around the monster. Lettie roars at The Thing. "I didn't see what exactly you ate, but you will pay for it, and you will pay for whatever it takes to heal that girl! Parasite or symbiote, your host clearly can't handle the same things you can, and now she's very likely going to die, you imbecile! Release her at once!"Aureolin Carnations Creature — Plant When Aureolin Carnations enters the battlefield, you may put up a card from your graveyard on top of your library. 1/3 As the tendrils attack the monster, both the girl and the thing scream in pain, in an unintelligible roar. She jumps, trying to get the mixture off her, but after a short fight, she falls to the ground, knocked out. The slimy substance gets off her, and drags moves through the shop, like trying to get out. The thing bubbles, like it is boiling, while the girl stands unconscious in the floor.Fleah-Eating Parasite Artifact Creature - Symbiote Bond ( : Attach this to target creature you control. It becomes an Equipment and stops being a creature until it becomes unattached from a creature. Bond only as a socery.)Haste, trample Equipped creature has haste and trample. Sacrifice equipped creature: Put X +1/+1 counters on ~, where X is sacrificed creature's power. 1/1 Aureolin Carnations: This doesn't seem too weak nor too strong. Nice. 8/10

Streetcar Snitch:I think it would go well in discard heavy set (eg Innastrad). Seams fine 8/10 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Can we move to a more... private place? You know like a backroom or something so I can show you better; And something about this room creeps me out..." he says while glancing up at the taxidermied animals. Selkie Wind-Mage Creature - Merfolk Wizard , : Counter target activated ability. (Mana abilities can’t be targeted.) 1/2 "Understandable. Follow me, and do not touch anything." Lettie leads Brayden into a room teeming with raw ingredients and alchemical devices. A book opened to a page concerning woopip spores lies on a table. However, there is a stuffed tortoise on top of a shelf, surveying the backroom with a glum expression. Lettie shuts the door once Brayden has found a spot to stand. "I've already seen Michi's sketch, so have no hesitation. Whenever you're ready." She clutches a flask on her belt.Autumn Gale Instant This spell can't be countered. Spells and abilities you control can't be countered this turn. Draw a card. Selkie Wind-Mage — I decidedly do not like on-board counters. Comparing the activation cost of this to Repudiate as well, and the activated ability seems to be rather efficient, given that it doesn't require a card. 7/10 Autumn Gale: Standard anti-counter (Blue) hate from green. Seems fine 8/10 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As Lettie finishes speaking, Brayden gives a nod and then pulls up his sleeve to show that his right arm fully bandaged. And then Brayden starts to quickly unfurl the bandages. And, as he unfurls the bandages it looks exactly like the picture Michi showed to Lettie; Its covered in rather large bulbous growths and is also covered in whats looks like scars, and when he removes from the bandages from his hand, he has three fingers that are each topped with curved spikes. As he does he looks at it, closes and opens his "hand", "thats something I'll probably not get used to...". "So this happened when I was working on an experiment. I was using a gem called a mox emerald; It can convert nearly all forms of mana into green mana. However, It is very sensitive towards aether, and the mana stream I was passing through suddenly fluctuated, due to an aether contamination in our mana source. And so, It exploded quite violently and I took the brunt of it... And then it caused this and also caused my latent planeswalker spark to ignite and whisked me to this plane."He then gets out a notebook and turns to a page which has a sketch of the arm, "The working theory on whats causing this is when the gem exploded, it embued my body with aether and green mana, mostly my arm because I used that arm to shield my self in the explosion, which created some sort of "bridge" between the blind eternities and basically caused my arm and the arm of somesort of creature and a tiny bit our consciousnesses to essentially 'swap'."
Bridge the Eternities Instant Exile target creature or planeswalker you control, then return that card to the battlefield under its owner’s control.

The mushrooms surrounding her fade slightly after she takes the laudanum, but remain in view, decidedly less real but no less surrounding her. Her alarms see none of this, only an inky smoke collecting in the corners of the shop. Dark purple tendrils of shadow seem to reach out from it, only to be repelled by something.
Smoky Halls Artifact When Smoky Halls enters the battlefield, each player can cast only one more spell until your next turn. , Sacrifice another artifact: Exile Smoky Halls, then return it to the battlefield. Saffron Ancient - nice, and the sac helps reign in the oppressiveness you can occasionally get out of this effect 10/10

Sacrifice equipped creature: Put X +1/+1 counters on ~, where X is sacrificed creature's power. 1/1 Aureolin Carnations: This doesn't seem too weak nor too strong. Nice. 8/10 Lettie dismisses the transfigured bough as soon as it's clear that The Thing is trying to escape from the shop, and she immediately sets about trying to identify what the young lady drank. She can already see that the thorns have left cuts in the skin, but those are superficial; they aren't what's killing the poor lady. At the very least, she wasn't convulsing, which would put the counter-sedatives like wormwood and mugwort out of the question. They had expressed pain, so it was unlikely to be any of the opiates, hypnotics, or painkillers. If it were intense pain in the stomach or heart, it could very well be aconite, in which case, the antidote would be mandrake or charcoal... but haste would just as easily kill this woman. Best to stay methodical. Lettie checks the woman's pulse, the nodes under her jaw, and tries to evaluate her breathing as well. She also looks for hints of rising bile, and to see if the lips are turning blue. As Lettie begins to settle on a conclusion, she becomes distracted. Why am I doing this? She probably can't pay me. It's going to be difficult to even save her... but they also spoke as "we". She might know something about whatever That Thing was.Thorned Serpent Creature — Plant SnakeDeathtouch Whenever a creature dealt combat damage by Thorned Serpent this turn dies, destroy all permanents that were attached to that creature. 1/3 Flesh-Eating Parasite — This one breaks the conventions a little further by not providing a P/T, so that won't be a factor here. However, it does have a nice way of turning your other creatures into ball lightnings, while offering some lategame persistance through the same means. I think it might be correctly costed as well. However, in most cases, the usefulness tapers off, as any attack this makes while equipped is a combat phase where it isn't attacking, and it doesn't transfer the bonus over. 9/10
