Stepping across the threshold, Arc sensed, with all of his senses, the thickness of the magic in the shop. The taste and smell in the air was like that of a room full of people each with a unique aura. He still had no way of evaluating those sensations but he knew that nothing seemed normal here. His newfound existence also seemed to resonate with this place, though he couldn’t put a finger on why. His previous life was steeped in a similar but far different energy. His hand closed around a small bauble in his pocket, doubtful he would have any use for it here, less of course than what he could purchase for it. In his line of work information was the difference between life and death, and he felt very mortal right about now. Arc placed the shiny object on the countertop for the shopkeeper's consideration. Grace and courtesy were tools he was well versed in, if not local customs. “Please, I’d like to buy some information.” Arc glanced around at the curios in his general vicinity not even pretending he knew what they were for. “I am a traveler and I know very little of this place. Something drew me here though, something kindred. Can you tell me about this?” Arcanis gestured as if waving his hand through smoke or fluid, trying to grasp the incorporeal substance. He felt foolish, but he needed to clearly portray his ignorance. Though ignorance was not synonymous with helplessness. And as he stood in the shop he began to grasp a bit of nuance to the power and flow throughout the shop. He begun by separating out the individual signatures and feels to their respective sources. Wary Professional Creature- Human Ninja Ninjutsu When Wary Professional deals combat damage to a player, return an artifact that player controls to it's owner's hand. 2/2 Propagation Dish- First time evaluating a card so bear with me. I think this would be better at just one more to cast. The "Artifacts you control" ability is a pretty cool ability but this also brings another artifact with it to the party. so it's a bit strong at 2 CMC (I disagree with the MV change). I do love the aesthetic of the card though matching the apothecary idea and Oozes consuming an artifact. 9/10 Lettie smiles. She normally doesn't charge for directions, but with the payment already on the counter, she takes it and begins explaining. "You are on a plane of existence known as The Arena. Here, both space and time will contrive to have you meet others, as you have been drawn to meet me. If you did not come here intentionally, it's possible that you are not yet aware of what you now are. Now, more specifically, you are in the shop of an apothecary; that would be me. I sell potions, plants, reagents, poisons, and excess stock. I operate many of these throughout this Arena. Does that sufficiently answer your question?" She doesn't seem to have understood what Arcanis was asking; from her perspective, he had seemed to be waving his arms about the place, as though gesturing to the surroundings.
With more time to examine the magical signatures, it's clear that some of the potions are bottled spells, waiting to be released, prepared by the treatment and arrangement of various materials with an apothecary's magic; almost certainly the shopkeeper's. The taxidermied animals seem to be enchanted with rudimentary animation that allows them to perceive visitors; the animation can be briefly amplified to animate the entire being to act. The alligator could drop from its vantage point jaws-first if it were animated now as such. The self-similar magic just beyond the veil, however, proves far more puzzling. There are more instances of the spell than can be counted, and comparing the mass to a liquid or vapor is indeed apt. Each instance seems to rapidly cycle through a large set of distinct states, propagating itself with every repetition. Near the edges of the effect, a chaotic force, likely the churning blind eternities, disrupts the pattern before it can be completed. Comparing to the potions, the process is likely alchemical, but is almost certainly too complex and foreign for Arcanis to fully understand. Where it passes through the nonlinear geometry of the blind eternities, it can be seen, looping back towards the taxidermied animals, seemingly linking them with the apothecary. Lastly, with enough time spent examining it, Arcanis might notice that the mass seems to pulse like a slowly beating heart. Megrim Reaper Artifact Creature — Scarecrow As Megrim Reaper enters the battlefield, choose a nonland card name. , : Target player reveals their hand and discards a card with the chosen name. Activate only during your turn. 2/1 Naming whatever Professional would swap with. Could also be used for somewhat unimpressive synergy. Your evaluation style is acceptable.
Wary Professional — A bit narrow, though I recognize it's a response to the response. Keep in mind that as the attacker, you don't have to respond to me, though doing these back and forths be fun. It seems somewhat weak for its cost; with this much value deferred, and with the opponent's choice, you could probably broaden the possible types. 8/10
Aracnis listened to the words he had purchased. As few in number as they were, they gave him a massive amount of information. He ran the information through his mind separating it and filing it away for later use. The first was the Name of the “Plane” he was on. The concept would seem foreign to most anybody else, but Arcanis was special. Where he came from alternate dimensions were rare but not unheard of. Arc himself was one of the few who had access to a personal dimension which he had constructed out of just about nothing. He supposed it would be classified as a plane of existence. But that was for another time. “You called it the Arena?” Arc let the pieces fall into place. An entire Plane that strives to throw similar people at each other could only mean that he was now some sort of combatant in a large-scale battle. Arc’s muscles tensed as he realized that everyone was a possible enemy. I smirk tempted the corner of his mouth. Just like the good old days. “Your answers bring only more questions; however I do believe I have received enough for what I paid for, probably more than enough. I have no real money to purchase anything more than that. Though I can promise that I will return. Your shop offers several products that I find useful. Unless of course there is some way I can purchase items by way of performing tasks for you. Honestly I would have to find work to make the money anyway.”With the pulsing magic around him, Arc began to understand more about everything. Some of the dark energies in the place resonated with him on a deep level. Maybe sticking around would help him unlock more of his potential. And maybe he would find working doing the things he was best at Arcanis, Planeswalker Legendary Planeswalker-Arcanis : You have no maximum hand size until the end of turn. : Arcanis becomes a 2/2 Human Ninja with unlockable until the end of turn. : You get an emblem with "At the beginning of your draw step, draw an additional card" Megrim Reaper: This card kind of reminds me of phyrexian revoker with it's focused "hate." It has the upside of allowing you to look at your opponents hand each turn even if you don't remove a card which is nice. Honestly there are ways to make it stronger or more useful but those would put it at a higher CMC or rarity. This was a good card 10/10

Arcanis, Planeswalker — I do not consider it a good thing for a walker with any + (that is, most of them) to be able to use all of its abilities on entry, including an emblem that is noninteractive card advantage for the rest of the game; remember, something entering the battlefield can not be responded to before the ability is activated. Also, the first ability doesn't work, since the end step is before the cleanup step, which is where you discard down to hand size; you would have to specify that you have this until your next turn (This is erroneous; cleanup also handles ueot effects). Besides that, It's clear what this walker supports (e.g. Ninjutsu), given the character's mechanics, so that at least works. 6/10

Whenever the chosen player draws a card, you may draw a card. When the chosen player loses the game, abandon this scheme. The slightest insinuation that someone should know her mind, or truly know her at all, sends Lettie into rage. She recalls how she had gone through such pains to hide her mind and soul from everyone she had ever known: her family, her customers, her closest friend—to an extent, and her dearest—no, that bastard never deserved to know anything of anyone. She repeats another cycle of homicidal fantasy. She should have killed him when she had the chance. She should have killed him when they had first met, before they had transgressed so. She should have died years ago. She could have at least been allowed to die instead of becoming what she is now, cursed to erode what good remains in the world. To hell with all of it. If that good was what dragged me back to the living, then every last being in the multiverse deserves to suffer this punishment with me. Zero, that living injustice. I will redeem my own self-similar sin once I have destroyed her. There is a familiar feeling of hatred, like burning blood, which sickens Lettie. Hilda, that sentimental and weak coward. Her self-serving martyrdom. Some part of her recoils, thinking that. Despite the glimmers of self-awareness, she must press on. Seska, that naive and careless hypocrite. But the knowledge that she herself had wronged Seska haunts Lettie. Pidge... The dissonance is too great. Lettie can only break down in choked sobs, and as soon as she can, knock the journal onto the floor. She faintly hopes that she will find silence in the coming minutes.Dourdrop Dredger Creature — Faerie Flying If you would draw a card, mill two cards instead, then choose a card type. Return a card of the chosen type at random from your graveyard to your hand. 2/2 In the barren wasteland of reality, one must question what escape there is from dark thoughts.
Alternatively, concede in response, and hope another player gets the archenemy.
Let Us Into Your Mind — Most ongoing schemes have easier abandonment conditions than this. Perhaps that's intentional flavour-wise, but I think it undermines the design. 8/10

Despite the unusual colour, she can identify the stacked choirs of hoods, which she sets about carefully harvesting before an Entelan like Haia falls victim to them. Considering who else she had seen on the Arena with this sort of power over life, Lettie concludes that this is likely Briar's work. She considers what it could mean as a message; misanthropy is the first thing that comes to mind. She doesn't feel that she is misrepresented by it, considering what she has often wished to be true. She considers what it could mean as a threat, though it is a poor one, considering her vocation, and how easily she had faced Briar's court before. Lettie gives brief thought to what effect the result might have on Briar's court should it become a problem once again. It scarcely occurs to her that this might be the last she ever hears from Briar.

Arcanis considered the offer of employment. Honestly he wasn't expecting the shopkeeper to have such broad needs, several of which Arc was fairly fluent in. "Those terms are acceptable, if I can make one thing clear. You are offering these jobs as a commission on completion work, which is absolutely fine by me. But I will keep my autonomy as an independent contractor. Since you need Mercenaries you must understand that the work goes where the pay dictates, I am no different. I can perform mercenary tasks as well as private investigating and curse breaking. However magical analysis is not my strong suit. I'm still trying to get a grasp on this magic. It feels similar to the energy source I am used to but more... abundant. I may end up breaking what you would like me to analyze." Arc realized that if he took on more of these kinds of jobs he would be able to establish some influence here. Jack of All Trades Creature- Human Rogue Jack of All Trades has all keywords of creatures with memorize counters on them. : Put a memorize counter on target creature. 1/1 Ture-Name Shepherd: So this card is interesting. Made me interested in the lore behind the True-Name name. I want to recommend it as a 0/1 or someother base p/t because it is a rare and mechanically a player could kill it by getting rid of their hand. But I feel that takes from the flavor of the card. So I think this gets another 10/10.

And I wouldn't worry about the difficulty in analyzing the magic in this shop; My native form of magic seems to confuse most outsiders even in its simpler constructions." With that, Lettie prepares some information on a slip of parchment, containing an address and a description. "Your first commission then would concern investigating and breaking the curse of a certain Madame Lysenda, who I believe is suffering effects similar to partial possession or latent influence. It is possibly contagious, so exercise caution. Furthermore, Lysenda insists that she is fine, so you will need to approach her indirectly. Officially, you are not working on my behalf, unless you happen to be speaking to a woman named Alsy. I will tell her to account for your presence. Is that acceptable?" If Arcanis accepts, she hands him the slip.
//The two should be able to agree on payment without it being written out, seeing as Lettie has a fair amount of latitude on that front. Jack of All Trades — For this cost, Jack would need at least two keywords in order to approach being worthwhile, and it will still cost the time of getting to that point. That's largely a costing matter, and this is otherwise a good way of allowing the collection to persist across copies without having to account for every possible keyword on entry in the cost. 7/10

Arc nodded taking the slip of parchment. He glanced at it quickly to make sure he could read it and slipped it in a pocket. "I'll get right on this." He was glad that their intentions coincided. He could use a reliable information broker, someone connected that could give him these kinds of opportunities. Arc turned and waved over his shoulder. "This won't take long." Arc then disappeared in a flash. One of the skills he had mastered as a ninja now was quite amplified with this new magical power. Flash-step Practitioner

Ninjutsu
Return a land you control to it's owners hand: Return Flash-step Practitioner to it's owner's hand.
Whenever Flash-step Practitioner deals combat damage to a player, exile another permanent, then return it to play under it's owner's control.
2/2 Removing to end the interaction. Mercurial Changeling: So first off, I want this to have changeling, but that doesn't reduce my rating of the card. not exactly sure of the need for the human aspect of the creature type, I suppose the human side makes the 2/2 more relevant. And I just realized that it augments my Jack card. Wonderful. Yeah I can't see anything wrong with it. 10/10

It seems as though the only thing this tiny space is devoted to is storing and selling goods. The door is unlocked, and stepping inside, Neeyo might glance back above the entrance, to see a stuffed snake watching over the shop. The smell is less than ideal. There are fumes rising from some bottles, placed next to some open windows, and after the fumes seem to thicken for a moment, the shop's keeper rises from behind the counter, as though she had merely been searching for something in a lower cabinet. She settles her gaze on Neeyo's filigree neck. "Welcome. It's quite the torrent outside. Do you need anything, or just shelter?" Her tone is deadpan and professional.
//If Neeyo has the capability to detect nearby individuals, then she can confirm that there was no one else present until shortly after she entered. Chancemonger Creature — Human Citizen Menace
When Chancemonger enters the battlefield, discard all the cards in your hand, then draw that many cards minus one. 3/2 Tracking Thopter — This is statted to be a literal Ornithopter, sure, but an etb reveal isn't enough to account for the increased cost. Otherwise it's a fine common, with a hand reveal where it's most needed. 8/10

Neeyo enters and looks around, taking in the cramped storefront. The stuffed animal is a nice touch, but it doesn't break up the atmosphere nearly enough to make a difference. Perhaps intentional, perhaps not. She jumps a bit as the woman appears and subsequently speaks. "Sorry for jumping. I didn't quite see you there. Yes, it is quite damp out there. Shelter is appreciated, though not all I have arrived here for. That said, do you mind if me and my companion wait out the storm here?" she questioned, glancing back out the window at the wall of rain. The homunculus had already begun to slightly wander, glancing at a few of the miscellaneous things on the shelves, lingering on the stuffed animal, though they dared not touch anything. Cursed Recycler Artifact Creature - Construct Whenever an opponent discards a noncreature permanent card, that player may tap an untapped creature they control. If they don't, you may put that permanent on the battlefield under your control. 2 / 1 Chancemonger: 9/10. I love that its a powerful body for its cost, but is not a may ability to balance it out. A rough draw in the late game when your hand is small, but I suppose that's part of the chance, huh? I do worry it is still too lowly costed, as when you want the effect, this card is nuts.

Dozing Satyr Creature - Satyr : Target land becomes a Forest in addition to it's other types until end of turn. "Why'd you wake me? I was having such a vivid dream..."1/3 At one point during her next home's construction, Lettie inspects the ruins of her last one, to find the dreamer. She briefly tries to listen to what words are being said, but rapid speech is already enough of an annoyance for her without the mumbling. She crouches down and nudges the satyr awake, escalating to shaking if she has to. "You're on a property lot I own; you should move, unless you want to get built into a new foundation. Don't you have anywhere more comfortable to sleep? Atlas Bakery is a stone's throw away." Crossroads Contract Sorcery Destroy target creature with power X or less, where X is the number of basic land types among lands on the battlefield. Dozing Satyr — In a lot of cases, this'll amount to fixing, of a type more often seen at common. No issues with this besides that. 8/10

"Yes, I have heard tales of this Azor in my travels, though he is not who I seek. My quarry is from my home plane. He went by Crucius before he left or so I'm told, but simply seeking a planeswalking sphinx tends to narrow down the search enough," she clarifies, chuckling. "And yes, I'm sorry to bother you so without intention of being a customer. We will see our way out." Neeyo takes a slight bow before heading outside, making sure her companion is coming. As she leaves, she holds her hand out to the homunculus. He retrieves and hands her a device that then unfolds into a large umbrella when outside. She strolls down the street through the rain, companion at her side. Liar's Effigy: ...huh. I like it, a lot even, but man that's weird. The use case for this is both broad and niche. Not quite sure how to rate it, so you get the better of the results. Reminder and flavor text are a nice touch. 10/10.

Perhaps had Haia dashed in to leave the note and scurried out just as quickly, she could have escaped in time. Instead, by the second glance, Lettie is behind the counter, holding a hand out for the note.

"Ah!" Haia jumps back. "M-miss Lettie, I-I have a note for y-you..." Haia hands the note to Lettie and then pulls her arms back to herself. She doesn't say anything else but doesn't leave either.
The note is written in very careful Volarian cursive, written in pen and without any errors.
「Miss Lettie,
The construction of your house is finished. Now that I know it snows here, I had to put a few spells around it so the snow doesn't get in the way. I was told technicians set up the tunnel, oscillator, and bioaetherics devices, but I don't have a way to know for sure if they were set up properly. If they don't work, Seiva knows what to do to make them work. The house is secure against all kinds of weather and will resist future spider monsters and explosions.
Thank you, Haia Kenei」
In the empty space of the note is a two-floor diagram of the house, its plumbing, and the energy conduits that connect the oscillator setup to the lights, kitchen, and aetheric devices. This reminds me a lot of the blue artifact cost reducer. This applies to devoid eldrazi as well instead of to noncreature artifacts, so it's probably good. 9/10 Advanced HousingLand Advanced Housing enters the battlefield tapped unless you control a creature. : Add or .

Haia hasn't figured out how to respond to Lettie thanking her before Lettie planeswalks away, and has no objections about it.The residence before Lettie is a two-floor house built using local wood and accented with industrially refined aethersteel. The base of the house is roughly rectangular, and there is an area to one side where the upper floor extends past the base of the lower floor that is being supported separately. The snow on the outside has given a roughly two meter berth from the edge of the house, an area roughly defined by carved posts portraying wildlife. The roof on the outside seems to be a sloped roof made out of leaves, but careful observation reveals a wooden structure beneath the leaf pattern.Where the shop connects to a door to the outside, a wide aetherglass window allows vision from anywhere on the shop floor to the outside. The floor here is made of a darker ebony wood to contrast against the local wood, and the edges of store shelves and counters are lined with slightly purer and shinier aethersteel strips. The shop is stocked with any of the alchemical components Lettie may have cited as lost or destroyed from her original house. On one side, separate rooms exist for both bioaetheric and alchemical work, as well as material storage. On the other, a larger oscillator system than either Lettie had previously or EPIC used in their main outpost sat next to a primed aether tunnel, with its destination set to one of Lettie's off-plane shops. All of these rooms come with a small dimly glowing panel that either activates or deactivates elementally-fueled lights that look roughly like daylight. The ceiling of this floor is made of wooden beams and planks, though the beams are carved with curvy designs that don't intentionally represent a real substance. The stairs to the upper floor are sturdy wooden stairs. They lead to a short main entrance hallway that connects to a grey-carpeted living room, which has been populated with the noted lost furniture. Replacement taxidermied animals are sitting on the furniture in a way that a child might imagine they were having a very boring meeting around a table. In one corner of the living room, a door leads to a library that takes up around half of the upper floor space. A few of the books that were cited as missing or destroyed are placed on shelves beside a few Volarian textbooks and other literature relating to bioaetherics, sorted such that book titles with the same initial sounds are together but without any clear order otherwise. Beside them sits a note on top of a pile of coins in a few different currencies written in Seiva's handwriting. Found some of these on the Lerithan market. Think we could have found more given more time, but I didn't want to keep you waiting. Lerithan moneychangers helped a bit.
On the opposite corner of the living room, the wall is replaced with a modern kitchen set-up, with a functional refrigerator, oven, and stove that all function using elemental energy, and a sink with two taps that has an exit pipe but no entrance pipe. In the remaining space off the living room is a short hallway leading to three rooms. The first door leads to a bedroom with a panel that controls lights as well as the internal temperature of the house. Shelves take a place on this room's walls, though they are only populated by a few empty journals. The second door connects full bathroom with similar plumbing to the kitchen sink. The floor of the bathroom is a shimmery metallic surface, with a patterned green and brown rug alongside a similarly shimmery white bathtub. A single frosted window lets natural light in, though this room also has a panel for elemental lights. The last door opens to a room devoid of anything except a table, window, and light panel.
Chancellor of I Really Want My Gaea's Cradle. This is probably a fine card, since the formats that let you run Cradle are usually more powerful than wanting to do this. 9/10

How long has it been since I could live in an estate that was not a proverbial corpse? This house is beautiful. Haia's talents are wasted on a creature such as me. I have spent nearly a year salvaging and repairing the abandoned work of others, living like the rot in their walls. Here, I could nearly forget the scorn of time too short but impeding all the same. Were it not for strange devices I never learned to use, here I could live as though I never left my home.
I could never belong here.
Near the Atlas Bakery there is an extravagant house with a storefront. It is a bizarre mix of wood and steel reinforcements with carved embellishments and astonishingly wide windows. To one who would know the sense of the word, it is modern, what with its lightswitches and heating, but it is mismatched with its inhabitants: the many taxidermied animals watching the halls, and the owner, one of another era, who is not quite a witch, not quite an alchemist, and as she feels, neither entirely dead nor alive, in a state that can never be fully present. She feels alien to her own home, as ever she is an outsider to the entire multiverse.
Once again, a myriad of shops on the Arena and a handful on other planes are connected through the aether tunnel of this residence, and the rest are supplied through planeswalking. Before long, Lettie will have redistributed her stock to their proper places, and continue her dismal business.

test The satyr let out a bellowing laugh and took a few steps off the property. "Indeed indeed, I have no intention of staying in your way - I just do like to nap, you understand. I will cross this place off my list of spots, then." he says, the smile never wiped from his face. "Now that is an excellent question, isn't it? What did I see of you?" he asks aloud, thinking to himself, shaking his head. "Ah, I do not remember. But I know our paths will cross again in the future. But perhaps not! No future is set in stone, no matter what my visions show me."Juxtaposed Thoughts Enchantment Whenever a player would draw their first card in a turn, instead they reveal the top card of their library. They may put that card into their hand. If they don't, they put it on the bottom of their library, then draw a card. Nothing is ever quite as it seems."You would do very well to remember that, Miss..?"
Pact of Outrageous Fortune: Smaller pact? I like it. Makes pacts usable in the case of low mana or vs aggro (more than usual anyway - anything costing 0 is pretty good). And the Shakespeare quote? Feels like I could see this with an old border and everything! 9/10.

Not too long into the winter, a particularly rough patch of storm hits just as most shops are beginning to close for the night. A hooded figure wearing a jacket suited to much hotter weather ducks into the nearest building with an unlocked door, closing it carefully behind her and taking a moment to scowl at such a foul turn of the weather. Looking back over the shop she's taken shelter in, the books, flasks, and taxidermied animals paint an odd picture. Warily reaching out just enough to look for another mind in the room, Allatu raises her voice above the howling of the winds outside: "Hello. I hope I have not intruded. What is for sale here, that I might make my presence worthwhile?" Fair Trade Sorcery Put a permanent card from your hand onto the battlefield. Target opponent may put a permanent card from their hand onto the battlefield. If they do, exchange control of those permanents. What'll it be today?(Spending the valor to unlock sorceries.)
