Hi!
I'm Sir Martikov but y'all can call me whatever you what. I'm new to this community and in fact new to mtg: having only started playing since core set 2019, and since have become obsessed with mtg and learned all i could about mtg lore, from mirrodin to tarkir, and its history. And to "sate" my itch for all things mtg I have started to create my own cards and have since then I have discovered magic set editor and figured i might as well as join this community. And so I hope my stay is a joyous one!

Heyo! I'm James Brafin. I love MTG and have been designing cards for a year or two on Cardsmith, but I found this and Ive already fallen in love with the editor. My home colors are green and red, especially werewolves, dragons, and dinosaurs. I'm currently working on "Ravinica Revisited," which is gonna be a huge set that basically goes back and explores Ravinica in new and exciting ways, with all 10 of the guilds and all 29 keywords represented (Plus Selesnya is getting Support for synergy). After that I'm planning on doing some special drafting "sets" that will use what amounts to an Oathbreaker/Brawl variant, so look out for that too.

Hey all! Im Azazel, I just started making custom cards and I cant afford real ones so I make customs to play on tabletop simulator with my friends! This tool has been super helpful and I mostly just make custom tokens and lands because I love my anime Waifu's. My buddy and I actually want to make our own set thanks to this tool so we'd love to get some feedback on stuff we make in the future, and if any of you own tabletop simulator feel free to add me on steam and eventually test the set out!

Hello!
I'm firemind04, I answer to firemind or just fire. I've been creating custom MTG cards on MTG Cardsmith almost as long as I've been playing Magic - just over four years. I discovered MSE about six weeks ago and have been using it to create a custom Commander cube draft experience for me and my friends. My favourite colours are red, black and blue (Grixis/Rakdos/Izzet/Dimir) and my favourite archetype is spellslinger.

Hi everyone! I'm FdRstar, I'm not a big fan of Magic but I have had some Magic periods on and off for like 20 years or something. I was mostly playing with my brother and his friends (and their cards^^) and now I play more online with Arena. I'm also the creative type and right now my fancy is to create some Magic cards so here I am.

Hello Everyone. I am SteelNinja. I have bee playing MTG since 97. I love this game, and now i am working on a full set of 270 new cards divided up over 3 sets in a block. The Block is Kamigawa Vs. Phyrexia. I will be including all new lands, planeswalkers, and will be turning some traditional mechanics around a little bit. Hey everyone!
I'm FourEyes. You may recognize me from some of the custom MTG discords or MTG Cardsmith if any of you guys are on there. I've been around since Tahkir, but I've been playing off-and-on since then. I came back for ZNR and have never looked back since.
As for gameplay, I'm a sucker for green, especially simic. Weird tribal stuff and landfall are my favorite kinds of decks.

Hi all! CoolNerdStuff here. Been into custom card creation for about two years now, but I only started getting involved with the custom magic community last year on Reddit. I've been trying to make Magic sets based around the hijinks my friends and I have gotten into in our various RPG adventures, kind of a form of appreciation. I haven't found my niche as a card designer yet, but I'm most intrigued by set design and "glue" mechanics like cycling, treasure tokens, and the MDFC lands.
As a player, I'm into Standard, Historic, Commander, and Draft, and have recently been assembling my own peasant cube. I love playing big flashy spells and effects, with my favorite deck currently being a Big Red deck on MTG Arena that tries to turbo out Chandra and Drakuseth. Outside of Magic, I'm just as nerdy in every other aspect as a STEM major playing video and tabletop games. Stepping out of my comfort zone, I've been learning to cook recently!

AleF2050 here. I'm a new Magic fan for few months and this TCG is just the best one i've ever played and appreciated since i began playing it in Magic: Arena.
I had discovered Magic Set Editor quite a very long time ago way before i started to know a lot about Magic: The Gathering. As i can tell here, i wasn't pretty much into Magic as i was much more of a Pokémon fan when i was a child. I tooled around with the program without having idea of how the game worked when i was younger back when MSE was quite popular (i believe it was during the period before M15 came when we didn't have the cool-looking more noticeable black borders.).
Because i don't quite remember a lot what it exactly happened, i'm just gonna skip right to the present day, when i wanted to return back in time to revisit my childhood, back when i first knew Pokémon TCG. With this, i decided to enter in the Magic: The Gathering scene, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic, i dove straight to Magic: Arena and started during in the middle of the period of Zendikar Rising. However, Magic is only one of several favourite interests i do in my free time, and i often happen to play a bunch of online matches in Standard format through that game, so i am not an expertise with Magic, but it was evident that i had to make a obvious comeback to MSE, this time it's when i finally get in the gist of this amazing tool, trying to study the game's design, mechanics and other stuff from the MTG Gamepedia Wiki.
Magic: The Gathering is so amazing that i love the way how it has flexible-looking gameplay and a lot of fantastic artwork, even if actually i might prefer playing it a lot online. I should be glad if one day i'll ever be able to play it on paper!

I used to participate heavily in create-a-card threads on the old MTG forums back in 2010. I just reinstalled MSE and thought I'd see if I still have a spark (get it?) of imagination left in me.
Been playing paper MTG since revised (1994), still play with my kids sometimes and also play MTGA once in a while.

Hello there, I'm The Magic X-Ray Tech, but shorten that however you like. I started playing just before Magic 2010 dropped, and caught the tail end of the Alara block. Currently, my playgroup only focuses on Commander with the occasional draft thrown in to shake things up. I have a varied range of decks in my arsenal (as of the writing of this intro I believe I just finished deck 42?) which I rotate in and out of my active 7. As for design, I've dabbled in it a bit here and there over the years, mostly through reading MaRo's articles and listening to his podcast. I'd really like to step my design game up, and hopefully meet some cool designers along the way.

Hello potential Friends and Rivals. I go by Arcanis or Arc, yes it's a reference to the magic card but I have been using it as a sudo for *sigh* years. It's an uninspired story of me copying a friend of mine when we were younger. Anyway, I am a magic player, mainly commander these days. I was attempting to get my Judges cert at one point but life happened. But I have a degree in CompSci focusing on Game design. I love making games. I have a couple custom games in the works, but I am here to design Magic cards and interact with the community here. That being said I am a bit out of my depth on where to start, so good Samaritans are welcome. I have the MSE program and put together a few cards. I try to keep my cards within the confines of magic rules, but hey sometimes you have to make something outrageous. Also I have NOOO artistic capability, so if that is something you enjoy and might want to do for some cards, let me know.

Hello everybody! I'm Reichhardt, been playing paper M:TG since 1996, my physical collection goes back to Revised with at least a smattering of virtually every expansion since. I've been playing on Arena since it was in beta. I'm definitely a "Johnny." I enjoy building absurd Rune Goldberg decks that produce satisfying wins once in a blue moon - my favorite decks lately are a Selesnya deck built around Happily Ever After and Sphinx of the Guildpact, and a five-color Giants deck that's no longer Standard I named "Pentagruel." I once constructed a deck specifically around the strategy of using a Proteus Staff to pull Emrakul, the Aeons Torn with a Storm Crow, just because my little playgroup lived to enhance the legend of Storm Crow (yes, there was a playset of Force of Will in there as well). Having just both dated myself and outed myself as a seriously geeky player, I'll add that I've been messing around at designing cards at mtgcardsmith for the last few years, having belatedly discovered I didn't have to make do with just scribbling the ideas down myself. I'm an inveterate inventor of mechanics, many of which I'll experiment with implementing in different ways. I'm very likely to involve myself in card design contests, but I'm also working in desultory fashion on a couple of set ideas, a bottom-up one that's trying to juggle a large number of new mechanics without becoming overwhelming, and a top-down one that I'm having a lot of fun with developed by watching Pirates of the Caribbean movies and jotting down card ideas as I go through inspired by what's on the screen in front of me. Hey all, I'm Vizionarius, or Viz for short. Started playing Magic in 2002 and took a couple of shorter breaks due to life since then. Played a TON in grad school and succeeded in my goal of having every possible combination of colors (and lack of) commander decks! 32 in total... took a few years! I've played around with card design for about 15 years now, had MSE installed for some time a LONG time ago, something like 12 or so years ago. Never built a full set, but definitely spent time designing and brainstorming themes for them. I have participated in a number of card design challenges/games on various forums... don't remember if it was through this one of Wizard's official forums that they discontinued years ago (or somewhere else entirely). I've been doing a ton of drafts on Arena lately (and playing ranked standard to get the moneys to buy drafts if I have a bad streak), and still play with a great group of Commander friends in real life. I had/have a ton of casual 60 card decks, but since they've just been sitting on the shelf collecting dust for the last few years (they were also from my grad school days, where it seemed we'd make a new deck every week or so), I haven't felt the need to keep them intact, so many have been scavenged for the good stuff to put into the Commander decks (of which I now have more than I should have)... needless to say I enjoy designing decks. I'm more determined now to build a custom set to the finish, with likely a more draft mindset since that seems to be the only non-Commander format I still play in real life, and I enjoy the varied gameplay it brings each time it's drafted. I like to design cards that fit into the Magic universe in their feel. And by that, I mean the Magic universe that was around between 2000 and 2015 or so. I'll design the occasional transform card, but it's not really my style. I end up making a bunch or references to existing cards, but with a new twist, in a lot of my designs. I also really enjoy coming up with new keyworks that I try to make work elegantly within the existing game rules and semantics, but I'm not afraid of pushing the boundaries a bit here and there. Anyway, this is already long-winded. But I'm looking forward to being a frequent presence on here. |

Hello, I am aethermaster. I mostly design random cards, but will occasionally try to design a custom deck, specific commander, or custom commander deck. I've also at least started on a custom set (based on nothing with very little consistency) and want to figure out how to get my own TCG design started. I've got a bunch of stuff on[paper, but nothing online (it was originally called War for Aether, thus my name).
Outside of Wizard Squares, I mostly play Nintendo games and design my own (card and board) games.
I've played proper magic since about 2015, but used the cards for stuff since about 2012. I'm relatively new to actually making stuff that's coherent at all.
