Druid's Guile Sorcery Look at the top two cards of your library. You may reveal a land card from among them and put it into your hand. Put the rest on the bottom of your library in any order. You may play an additional land this turn. "A tree branches into many paths. Choose wisely."Explore meets Adventurous Impulse. Balance was based around Arboreal Grazer

Judging coming in.
A cool design that hints at an interesting setting. Rewarding multiple tribes in one card is a nice way to bring some fresh wind to the worn-out tribal genre. I'm definitely a fan.
A green twist of Sleight of Hand. Easy to understand, feels very green and could easily see print in the next real set. Flavor text is sweet too.
{And the winner is...} very hard to choose. But in the end I'm going to give the win to zephyrphantom for his elegant take on an old classic. Viriss obviously takes a very close second place.
Thanks everyone for participating!

Hope this counts (though it's probably not too hard to rework as something like festival of masks)

A custom rouge tribal commander i made for this challenge Valdarian of a thousand masks - 2UB Legendary Planeswalker - Valdarian +1 - Create a 1/1 blue Rogue creature token with “This creature can’t be blocked.” -2 - Until end of turn, whenever a Rouge you control deals damage to a opponent, draw a card. -6 - Search your library for three Rouge cards with different names and exile them. An opponent chooses one of those cards. Shuffle that card into your library. You may cast the other cards without paying their mana cost. Valdarian of a thousand masks can be your commander starting loyalty - 4

Probed some versions, among others one which exiles itself from the get-go to maybe help to lift potential memory issues, and one which used Animate Dead as a base as a convoluted way to help keeping track. In the end, I decided to go with the cleanliest version, kinda based on Release to the Wind (but not limited to casting-time restrictions), although in the end not 100% sure here. {Old version with wrong card type}

SilentKobold - Seems pretty well fit for a Conspiracy set or EDH game where you're more likely to play with multiple people and thus get some value. It makes me think of an Expropriate-type effect that is less annoying to play around and less likely to draw hate because of that more party-game feel. I like the flavor of stuff 'masking' themselves to attend the ball though I do think it's a slight (but more funny than problematic) flavor break that lands and noncreature artifacts can put on a fancy mask and sneak their way in. (Plus, it acts as a balancing measure in the sense you might hit lands instead.) Boogymanjunior An excellent idea for a pseudo flicker but I think it would've been smarter to flat out take Release to the Wind's text of "For as long as that card remains exiled, its owner may cast it without paying its mana cost." because that's easier to grasp and means you don't have to dance around using things like awkwardly exiling the card from the graveyard to track the card exiled with it and whatnot. Great idea but I think you tried a bit too hard to reinvent the wheel on the text when the answer was sitting right in front of you. ameisenmeister Imperial Mask's more card advantage-based brother. Not sure about the flavor, but I like the whole "masked conspirator" feel giving everyone on your team this card-draw ability has. Flo00 - Totem armor on an equipment, now that's really novel! I do wonder if it's a bit of a push to change its function this much to support other card types, but we've had bigger changes/reworks like Proliferate changing for less valid reasons and Partner With/Multikicker in the pass so I think it's accceptable here. This card feels like a great demonstration of a mechanic in a bigger set - I recall one of MaRo's older articles talking about how generally having "just the keyword" as a payoff can be hard for certain keywords to do, but you've created a card where just Totem Armor is a pretty decent payoff for the mana spent. It also makes me curious about the larger context of the set, even without flavor text, just from having a good name and unusual use of an effect I've never seen before. I liked all the entries this time around, but there can only be one, so: 1st Flo00 2nd SilentKobold

No one likes wood? If there is no entry in the next ... let's say two days, then I guess this is an auto-win for ameisenmeister.

{ameisenmeister}I like the concept of rearm. I just think that an effect like this is too strong to be repeatable over and over again. If you had an army of tokens, you could get though every turn with minimal casualties. Maybe it should work more like unearth, so that it exiles if it would leave.
{thaneofglamis} Imagine this card: Instant Destroy target creature. Draw a card. That is a way too good Murder. And Backwoods Hunter makes even more that that. It gives you the additional option for a creature. I like that it is simple and effective, it's just too strong. {SilentKobold}That's an interesting mechanic. On the surface it gives you even more blocks when you are less attacking. I also imagine it to be a fun addition in a vigilance deck.
{somerandomperson}That's a bit odd. The adventure requires an extra hurdle (another color) and then the Protector punishes you additionally for it. I think it would make more sense to give you opponents life when it didn't have an adventure.

Thanks for the win, it was actually surprisingly difficult to keep 'wood' in the name of the card while designing this.

Shoot, I, for whatever reason, completely missed that it could be returned over and over again. Thanks for pointing that out, I will adjust the mechanic immediately.

Warrior's Rations Artifact - Food Equipment : Equipped creature gets +1/+0 and gains first strike until end of turn. , , Sacrifice Warrior's Rations: You gain 3 life. Equip Mostly because I saw the challenge, thought of the name, and then decided the typeline "Food Equipment" was hilarious and had to see it through to the end.

{ viriss }Very interesting hate piece that also doubles as sub-optimal damage prevention. While it's activated ability is quite costly, slowing its impact significantly, I could still see this being useful in something similar to a commander product. { Flo00 }A nice simple design though probably should be coloured in . Some flavour text wouldn't hurt too. { gamma3 }Love the flavour of this one, though the 'fire-breathing' may be a little too efficient for being far less restrictive than Blessing. Perhaps a rework as a toughness buff, with vigilance, could solve this, keeping the flavour while also feeling less . {Winner}viriss
