cajun — Karina of the Arena: The first +1 feels more white than blue, and since the rest of the abilities are purely black she'd be better suited to   with her current kit. Still, I like the card otherwise, and landing both her ult and Tam's would indeed be a devastating combination. Just, y'know, storm off with planeswalkers. What could go wrong? 8/10. Rettai shakes her hand, nodding. "Sure, you can keep the hat. Now, we'll need you to sign a few forms and then we'll give you the tour—" Upon realizing she can't understand the paperwork, he shakes his head. "Right, in that case, I'll need some promises sworn by... the angels? As a Festenyan, you have a triad of angels you'd swear by, yes? We need you to promise not to share any of the secrets you learn from us without our permission, basically. And when we're done with the tour, we'll need to get you studying. There are an awfully large number of things a spy needs to know, and you'll need to start with reading and writing; they're the foundation of all learning—street learning aside, but I get the impression you're quite well versed in that already."
Some time passes; Tam shows her around the 7CI's facilities in the Arena, promising to take her to some of the off-plane areas later. She meets several of the other trainees, and is told the basics of each division's work. And, when the tour's done, they meet up with Rettai again. "So, you've seen some of what we do. Now, before you get to work, why don't we take a short break? An acquaintance of mine invited me to try some fancy Kinshalan flavored ices—I'm sure she wouldn't mind if I brought a couple of my students."

Why are there so many children in the arena? Valis had seen strange things in her time, especially here, but this was downright implausible. Not to mention dangerous. This one, on the other hand, had a hat that looked much like the thing Bishop had mentioned. Maybe it was time to get some answers for him. And to check if she wasn't hallucinating. No one in the fleet had experience with children, outside of the glasswolf puppy pens. Well, Pria was as nice a human as Valis had ever met. Maybe it was time to talk to her for once.Valis: "Go on. I'd consider putting an extra cost on that ability, but looks like a house for a RW flicker, 7.5/10Another woman had come to ask the girl why she was wandering alone. Okus didn't need more people trying to whisk away the host. Playing dumb was unlikely to be useful here. "Oh you know, just Arena stuff. Lotta things a little person can do to make herself a living around here." It looked worriedly at the hounds with Pria. After a long day of working with 7CI and trying not to attack Kirino, Okus finally returned to its hole in the wall to let the host rest for the night. Like I could sleep with you up there. It would be a good time to work through the new information and new plans now that it had declared itself a portalwalker. Yea how long can you keep that up?
Okus's train of thought trailed off. I shouldn't be this active. Something was wrong. Someone had left a spell behind. It immediately suspected Kirino, but it was too subtle for her. Rook wouldn't be caught dead in this place. But the armored cat...
Whoever had done it had chosen a poor method to do so. Dabbling in our expertise. It would leave a gift for whoever left this one. Then maybe it would accept that offer for a bed at 7CI after all...

Okus closed the door on the 7CI room Rettai had offered. It was small, but at least no one else was in here, yet. It would do until it could find a new, slightly less accursed, hole to hide in. Couldn’t risk someone swiping it now. As if anyone would want such a stupid hat.
Okus ignored me. Ignored me. Ignored. ME. It. Ignored it. It was just a stumbling block. Okus was recovering, and would be able to hold onto a stronger host soon. This one knew a lot though. Perhaps too much. Remaining on the Arena for much longer may not prove wise. But until then, it would gather strength and knowledge.Okus has unlocked converted mana cost 5.

As long as ~ is in your graveyard, at the beginning of each player's draw step, that player may draw an additional card. If they don't, exile ~ from your graveyard. Curiosity doesn't kill. Your hesitance to question does.

It's fine - I decided to check the forums at just the right time (I did something naughty, and exiled myself for a bit.) Mind Temple feels like expensive counter-bait - if it resolves, though, you've got a better version of "cannot be countered" on everything you control. I'm going to lean on it being an 8/10 - I might sideboard it. |

As much as I like Wonder and Co., value from the grave is a tricky one to pull off and I don't think the trigger every turn is the right way to go about it. It is a pretty fun trigger tho, just more suited to something not chilling out in the graveyard. 6/10

cajunFate Unraveler and Underworld Dreams tells me this is a pretty balanced card, as how limited it is justifies the cost compaired to them. It's a curse so more limited with more opponents, and it doesn't trigger on the first draw, making it a card to either punish or build around, which is fair. 10/10. The crystal figure looks down, and surveys them. A ring of white energy spreads out and glows from it for a moment, lighting up the two briefly. As the energy fades, it seems even more interested in the hat.Planeswalker's Guidance Sorcery Each player may search their library for a planeswalker card, reveal it, then shuffle their library and put that card on top of it. (This one is kind of a stretch but let's see)

Symmetric tutors are a bit dodgy cause they're terrible when they're actually symmetric and usually scary when they aren't. I like what you're aiming at here but the plays from these aren't the best 6/10
It seemed the crystal wasn't buying the act. Isn't there anything on this plane that couldn't see right through us? "Stay back," it tried anyway, "don't make me get Tam!" It cast a distracting charm, a minor thing, as anything substantial might draw even more attention from it. Now where was that recruiter?

cajun I don't know why a card like this doesn't exist. I can't say much about this other than it looks good. 10/10.After the effects of the trick fades, the crystal looks around again. As it sees they have gone, it goes on to try and find them again. It glows blue, highlighting the path they took.Chase the Trail Sorcery Name a card, then target opponent reveals their hand. If a creature or planeswalker card with the chosen name is revealed this way, scry 2. Draw two cards.

That permanent loses hexproof until end of turn. Play Dumb - 8/10. A nicely balanced uncommon which pays off the untapped clause well. A good card, all things considered.

Hidden in Plain Sight: I can't seem to find your card, it seems as though it's hiding somewhere, but where? This card's flavor shines through perfectl! I can't say anything other than I love it! 10/10. Aylin frowns at the mention of Kirino, amking an obvious grimace.
"I don't need you to tell me to get rid of that giarb " she say, using a slur from her own homeworld "I'm gonna get rid of her eventually... but if you can't even stand up to her, then maybe I was right to underestimate you and I need to get this thing checked" she says pointing at her ring "Care to join me against her and bring her down?"Recruit the Meek Sorcery Gain control of target creature with power 4 or less until end of turn. Untap that creature. It gets +2/+0 and gains haste until end of turn. Alone we're small, but together we are... a little bigger!

Can't really fault it. 10/10. I like the use of the aid too.

Another strange system of the robot activated as it attempted to scan us. There was always one last trick in its book. It was just one it wanted to avoid. For now, it would see how the robot handled another. "Okay! Well, my name's Karina. That's 'kuh' like 'canal', 'rin' like 'friend' and 'uh' like... uh... like 'uh'! Karina! So then, what's your name, mister robot man?" A shimmering smile crossed the illusion's face.Exfiltration Enchantment Whenever a creature you control becomes the target of a spell or ability you don't control, you may return that creature to its owner's hand. The key to a successful infiltration is having an escape route before you enter.Observational Array - choosing a creature feels a bit odd (which is why the canon examples blank it for all their permanents) but overall good 8/10

The person was hiding something, no doubt. And it appeared to be trying to retreat, by ways of a clever magical hologram. Fortunately, if it truly was a planeswalker, then it had a way of stopping it.Base Zero had observed the phenomena known as "planeswalking" multiple times now, and noticed it made use of the void, or "blind eternities" as they called it. Teleportation tech back on his world had used the same principal, on a much smaller scale, and so he had premade response. He gazed at the illusion smugly as his solution fashioned itself from microbots and molecules."My name is Base Zero, a designation given to me by my creators back home. Would you like to see my home sometime? It is a world of steel and smoke and very little of the magic you hold so dear. I think that I could bring you back with me, if you want to see it."Void Snatcher  Artifact When ~ enters the battlefield, gain  . Whenever a permanent would leave the battlefield, you may pay . If you do, exile it instead. You may cast cards exiled with ~, and you may spend mana as though it were mana of any colour to cast them. Extirpation - 9/10. A nice card, with a good cost and accurate rarity. The effect is a bit unusual, but I guess that I'm one to talk. I like it!

It didn't help that the woman insisted on interrupting lessons by speaking of my history, and of her own. Her tales of worlds beyond were amazing distracting. We knew of these worlds. Most of these worlds. Perhaps there was a bit to learn from this Reyhsia.

That was IT. This puny organic had annoyed them long enough, with their frankly annoying enchantments and misdirection. It was time to pull out the big guns, something it had been hoping to save for later. Whirring up a sparkling new processor, it began to mimic the movements of planeswalkers it had seen, drawing mana into itself. Then, with a crack of lightning and sigh of released energy, Base Zero did something no-one from their reality had ever done before.Cast a spell.Call for Aid: Demystify (M12)Regeneration Matrix Artifact At the beginning of your upkeep, if you were dealt damage since your last turn, gain 3 life. Learns from you suffering to provide sanctity.Cursed Riches - 6/10. Feels like the kind of niche hate card wizards doesn't print much of anymore, especially not at rare. Still, I may be wrong in my judgement, and it seems well costed for it's effect.

notdaedalus Okus flinched as the robot properly dispelled the illusion. The trick had worked, this time, but now he knew their game. Next time it might have to resort to the last trick, or blow its cover. Unless, it could make sure there wasn't a next time...
The robot appeared to be taking a moment to compose itself, not chasing after her yet, but his gaze not breaking away. Even with a head start, it couldn't trust the orphan could outrun whatever made the robot tick. Hiding was dangerous. But setting a trap...
An illusory trail followed behind the girl as she turned into the crowd. Come and get us.Poisoned Path Enchantment Whenever a creature attacks you or a planeswalker you control, that creature's controller loses 1 life and you gain 1 life. Few are willing to be adventurous when faced with a path so treacherous.
Regeneration Matrix - might be a bit annoying for the cost but can't say much else 8/10
re:riches while fairly niche generally, strikes me as the thing wizards would print in an artifact heavy set to give black some defense against them.

True to the Cause: pretty niche, but still feels in-color and, given the challenge, an acceptable response. 8/10. Aylin scoffs at the girl's response.
