Holy Bones Creature--Angel Skeleton Flying, vigilance, lifelink At the beginning of each end step, if you gained 5 or more life this turn, return Holy Bones from your graveyard to the battlefield. : Until end of turn, target creature gets +2/+2 and gains lifelink. Activate this ability only if Holy Bones is in your graveyard. 4/1
Taking obvious inspiration from Resplendent Angel.EDIT: I'm sorry, I completely missed the rarity restriction. Here's a new entry: Phase Revenant Creature--Skeleton : Phase Revenant phases out. When it phases back in, sacrifice it. (Treat it and anything attached to it as though they don’t exist until its controller’s next turn.): Return Phase Revenant from your graveyard to the battlefield phased out. “And there came, as it were, a great dooting, as if from everywhere and nowhere all at once...” —Second Book of The Slayer3/2 Guys, I think...I think my brain is breaking with this intersectionality of my interests.

Aw shoot, terribly sorry moweda{Missed submission feedback} Your card is more what I was hoping to see from a spellshaper submission. You probably could have gotten away with an extra point of power and/or toughness, but the design looks solid, and you made a good choice of card for the spellshaping to get some of that vampiric flavor. 7/10

Time to rattle these bones! Judgement! {Spoiler} emberfire17 - Skeletal Phoenix: It’s a good type match, I agree. Its ability plus 3/2 Menace+Flying makes me think moreso rare, but alas. It’s a good ability that hasn’t been done in that way before. It isn’t the easiest to trigger; though discard strategies will help like Inquisition of Kozilek or some good old targeted destruction, but if there is no creature in their hand or field, it ain’t doing anything. So maybe a suitable sideboard card in that case. Still: strong, neat comeback ability. sdfkjgh - Phase Revenant: Phase from the grave, neat ability, though it will absolutely be a pain to keep proper track of because it has two abilities that phase it out and then do something else with it. Was this going to the grave? Or to the battlefield? I think it would be a lot cleaner with only it having its second ability, and the creature simply dying from natural causes (even if that means it is open to exile abilities, yes). Idea - Sacrificial Reverend: So close, but the card also allowing its ability to be used from the graveyard really pushes it. Keeping something away for 2 turns is plenty good, then you also get a creature, and when that dies, a second time to suspend something for 2 turns. The thing also is: you don’t have to bring the Reverend back, as you MAY cast it from suspension. It’d definitely be rare. And very powerful. (I do like it as a rare. Fun abilities, could be nice in Modern…) thaneofglamis - Asphodel Taxiarch: Huh, no skeletons with escape yet! And its cost also being an additional card from hand really feels good on it. It’s reasonably strong being a 4/4 for 3 mana (and a card which balances it more), and the later escape(s) is then helped because you discarded a card on cast (from the graveyard). It feels like a coinflip for it being either common or uncommon, so that’s all fine and dandy. Flo00 - Endless Boners: Simple and solid. It gives some proper love to skeleton tribal with a one-drop. Bones from bones from bones. Alright, Winner: {Spoiler} I gotta go with thaneofglamis their Asphodel Taxiarch. Very neat design. Then second is Flo00 with simple and solid Endless Bones.

Jeskai Samurai Creature--Djinn Samurai Vigilance, trample, haste, prowess Jeskai Samurai has bushido X, where X is the number of spells cast this turn. (Whenever this creature blocks or becomes blocked, it gets +X/+X until end of turn.)2/3 Is this a culturally insensitive blending of two different cultures? Possibly. Is it awesome enough not to care about such things? I'll leave that up to the judge to decide.

I've been waiting for a good opportunity to share this: Neo-Ronin Artifact Creature - Samurai Neo-Ronin has haste as long as you control an Artificer. Neo-Ronin has first strike as long as you control another Samurai. 3/2

Can't help but feel it's a bit of a flavor fail that the sword master is the one training themselves up.

Isn't this just Samuraicycling? And this brings up my biggest problem with Reinforced Ronin: JUST USE CYCLING! YOU'RE DISCARDING THE CARD TO DRAW A CARD, THAT'S LITERALLY CYCLING!

Isn't this just Samuraicycling? And this brings up my biggest problem with Reinforced Ronin: JUST USE CYCLING! YOU'RE DISCARDING THE CARD TO DRAW A CARD, THAT'S LITERALLY CYCLING! I don't think Cycling is an evergreen mechanic, is it? So when it comes to official sets I can understand why they'd stay in that set's mechanics, even if they effectively just do another mechanic.

I don't think Cycling is an evergreen mechanic, is it? It's deciduous now, but wasn't back then. Also I think it was supposed to be an example of red's rummaging - still, it's a bit weird indeed. But then again, with so many mechanics basically being just Kicker, I'm pretty sure there would be different ways to keyword quite a few cards nowadays..?

Oni-Cult Ronin Creature - Ogre Samurai Whenever ~ attacks alone, you may sacrifice an artifact. If you do, ~ gains menace until end of turn. Whenever you sacrifice an artifact, put a +1/+1 counter on ~. This ability triggers only once each turn. 2/2 Edit: Oops! Missing P/T... >.< Thanks thaneofglamis!

Liked: The main ability is very interesting, and the card overall provides a very cool mental image.
Disliked: I think that might be a few too many keywords. I'm not a fan of trample and bushido on the same card, since that makes blocking often irrelevant, so I'd drop either that or vigilance. Nitpick: I don't think the bushido value should increase with opponents' spells. Just seems like a minor annoyance to track at best.
Overall: 3.5/5
Idea - War-Torn Mentor // Steelclad Disciple Liked: The mechanics resonate well with the flavor. Is the idea that it's the "master becomes the student" trope, but they die in the process, and come back as a spirit? That's cool. Disliked: I'm not really sure why the Mentor can't be damaged by creatures from a mechanical perspective. Not only does that mean it's an indestructible blocker (at uncommon!) but it also means you have to either have a sacrifice outlet or use up removal on your own creature in order to transform it, since it can't die in combat. Nitpick: Haste is color pie iffy on this card.
Overall: 3/5
Liked: Commons are a great way to showcase potential set themes, and I really enjoy the implication of both Artificer and Samurai typal themes in Red. I'm also a fan of artifact creatures that just have a class.
Disliked: There's totally room for flavor text! Overall: 4.5/5 Liked: Solid common that I could see doing a lot of work in limited aggro decks. I wasn't sure if the honor ability was phrased right, but apparently we actually do have precedent for it! Disliked: Nitpicks: Like Idea pointed out, it is strange that the master is the one being trained. It's also not clear what the "Honor" ability word refers to, but I'm guessing it's dying during combat?
Overall: 4.5/5 Liked: Exalted works well with the attack-alone theme the NEO samurai had.
Disliked: I think being colorless and lacking a species hurts this card more than it helps. It doesn't say anything about the worldbuilding or what colors Samurai, exalted, and Channel are in, so the card ends up feeling too generic to be interesting. I also think the body is too weak compared to the tutor, so it's really just a second copy of your bomb Samurai. Overall: 2.5/5 Liked: The flavor is excellently endearing! The mechanics are also very good - an issue with creatures that have high power and first strike is that they're extremely annoying blockers. They've been printing a few creatures that only have first strike while attacking recently, and this is an interesting alternative way to do that. Disliked: Nothing! Overall: 4.9/5 Liked: Very nice flavor text! Vigilance is definitely safer on a creature with 1 toughness, and decks that want aggressive 1 drops typically aren't too interested in blocking.
Disliked: I think the flavor could be punched up a little somewhere. What makes this samurai special?
Overall: 4.7/5 It seems you're missing power and toughness on this guy. Unfortunately, I can't judge a creature card accurately without it, but I do like what you have so far.
Noticed your quick update, so here's a fast rundown:
Liked: Would fit perfectly in with Neon Dynasty; Disliked: The play pattern doesn't quite line up right. The fact that the triggered ability only works once per turn means it has antisynergy with other artifact sacrifice cards.
Overall: 3.75/5 Liked: Flavor is on point. Very resonant with samurai tropes. Disliked: Nitpick: Don't think "Challenger" needs to be keyworded, especially not with that name. It's also almost always a green ability, not red. Overall: 3.75/5

@ thaneofglamis : Glad you liked my card Yeah, sadly never came back to change the name into something more fitting - and yes, it is indeed " Honor - When this creature dies during combat"
And for our new challenge.. {Outdated Version}
