I noticed a puddle of water coming under the door. Strange - it wasn't raining. I sighed and grabbed a mop - last time this happened, the wood by the entrance warped.
...
You see a small woman - clearly undead to your heightened senses - trying to mop you up. The rest of the cottage seems rather neat.Warpwood Haltija - Creature - Spirit Hexproof Whenever a creature would deal combat damage to you, you may prevent that damage. If you do, Warpwood Haltija fights that creature. 1/4 Become Liquid... when I first read this, I missed the first line and thought that this was horrendously pushed. As it stands, it seems to be pretty fair. A 9/10.
Hyle restores her solid physical form and smacks the broom away, raising from the puddle in an attempt to use the surprise effect and her slightly larger size to pin the woman's wrists down to the nearbiest flat surface. Whether the attempt fails or succeeds, she will try to introduce herself later and ask: "I am Hyle Seritani. Are you Hanska Myemii?"
Immobilise Instant Tap target creature or planeswalker. Its activated abilities can't be activated this turn. Draw a card.
Note: Hyle usually has two legs when materialising on land.
It was reasonably shocking when whoever-the-fuck (Hyle? Hyle.) materialized out of the water puddle. It was far more annoying when she tried to pin me to the ground. I gripped her wrists right back and used them to slam her against the nearest wall. Then I dropped the winded mermaid. "You know, it's rude to enter someone's home without being invited. Next time, just knock. Would you like any tea?"...Hanska nods. "Yes, I'm Hanska Myemii. Do you normally invade people's privacy, Hyle?"Lady of Scales - Creature - Human Druid : Add . Whenever Lady of Scales becomes tapped, target creature you control gets +1/+1 and trample until end of turn. 1/1 Immobilize is simply gorgeous. It's kinda weird that you're tapping a planeswalker, but that's forgivable. A 9/10.

"No tea, thanks", she answers, ignoring the other question. "Glad you can talk, might not have to kill you. There's other undead in here. All independent like you? Who made you like this?" Ice suddenly forms on the cottage floor, and Hyle uses it to attempt to encage Hanska's body (sans head, she'd need to hear the answers to her questions, after all) with a spell.
Hyle Seritani spent 1 point to gain Enchantment Mastery!
Enchantment Whenever a creature an opponent controls becomes tapped, it doesn't untap during its controller's next untap step.
Lady of Scales: Missing a "gains" before trample, but I like this take on creature who tap for mana. 10/10

"Other... Oh." I chuckled. "Interesting that your spell can figure that out. How many of me are there right in front of you?"
Then I died.
...
Suddenly, Hanska's voice comes from near the window. "Honestly, though, is this normal behavior where you're from? Or are you just especially bigoted?" A small calico cat stretches on the windowsill - to your enhanced senses, there are two undead beings there. "Whatever happened to manners?"Bedchamber Cat - Creature - Cat Tapped creatures you control have hexproof. At the beginning of your upkeep, put a +1/+1 counter on each tapped creature you control. 1/2 Gelid Prison is a nice enchantments. It is, however, overcosted. I could see the same effect at, say, . It also weirds me out that it's really hard to play it with the other tap color ( ). A 7/10.

I shook myself and narrowly managed not to drool. "I'm not sure why you're doing spooky stuff. To tell you the truth... I'm curious, but I don't care all that much. Hanska having a rumbly tummy? That's a bit more immediate." "Sure, sure. I can prepare something. Should only take a m-moment." I was sweating, but I was in control. No throats were going to be torn out today, that's for certai- oh fuck I just smelled the addiction in Rolt's blood. That's the good stuff. I h- right. Right. Mei. Tasty little Mei needed help. A little nip, and... pull yourself together, Hanska!"How does your host feel about being a blood donor?"...Moments later, Hanska hands over a small cup of tea - much more bitter than her normal concoctions, for some reason. It does do the trick, though. Rolt notices that Hanska is making eyes at him while she's bandaging Mei - maybe venom-dame has changed her tune?Hanska, Saint of the Lost - Legendary Creature - Vampire Cleric Whenever an opponent discards a card, you gain 2 life. Whenever you discard a land card, you may pay . If you do, put it onto the battlefield tapped instead. 2/2 Hurried Request could be mono-red. Apparently adding and getting rid of Flashback lets you target with an instant-speed Faithless Looting - who knew? That being said, I'm a fan of draw-milling people, so I'm going to bump you up a touch to a 9/10.

Lady Mapi (gonna start @ing people now whilst attacking - probably a good thing to do.) To be dismissed as an inconvenience... you wound Us, animal. The venom-dame was a good a bones as any, even while shaking and sweating like a loon. I keep my eyes on something else, pretending not to notice the oogling. And Vivien says I don't have any charisma left. "Tell you what bones, you're a mighty good doctor. Keep it up and someone might even look at you the way you're sizing me up right now." I said, taking a seat.Your undead's hunger is of no matter to Us. The detective's passing would be an inconvenience, at most."Now, when you're done with that, I'm finally here to ask those questions about Sunspear. Hopefully no kids show up this time - pains in my ass." I muttered, looking around. And him? Our host? We need no host, feline. For We are powerful.Impose Enchantment Creatures you control have haste. Whenever a creature attacks you or a planeswalker you control, it gets -1/-0 until end of turn. Thankfully We have learned how to manipulate the mana to interact with this plane despite that contraption..."Thanks, kid," Mei says as she downs the cup. "You're a lifesaver." Her breathing slowly returns to normal. After a few moments and a number of glances at Hanska, she pulls out... nothing and flips her thumb over the empty space. She winces as the interdiction ends, but doesn't say anything else for now. Thank Gods, I could feel my mana returning. I made a mental note again to not let Haloster get his hands on one of those.
Hanska, Saint of the Lost: If there was a time for a white vampire, I feel like it'd be now. Probably , upon further reflection. As is though, seems fine. Land ability feels a wee bit weird though. 9/10.

A few moments pass in silence before Chrysoplei blinks and notices the fact no-one seems to be saying anything. "Was I supposed to have heard something? If so, I'm assuming telepathy. That tends not to work on me I'm afraid." Mind-Blanked Magus Creature - Human Wizard Opponents can't look at your hand and your hand can't be revealed. If a spell or ability would cause one or more cards in your hand to be revealed, counter that spell or ability. 1/3 World-Forest Dryad - Cross between Banisher Priest and Song of the Dryads. I personally like it quite a bit. Could perhaps have slightly better stats for the cost, potentially. 8/10

Land ability feels a wee bit weird though. 9/10. I ignored Rolt's crass comments - they were better than him realizing that he was in the room with a starving vampire. As soon as the field shut off, my hunger fell back under my control. If people were going to wander around with toys like that, I should probably feed. How distressing."If you were really as powerful as you say you are, you wouldn't be wasting your time making teapots manifest out of nowhere.""Mei, you might want to be careful for a few days - a bullet through the brainpan is no joke, even to someone with your talents." I handed her some extra painkillers."Still, good work on getting the bullets out of little missy over there. That was right nice of you.""What kinds of questions do you have, Mr. Rolt? I hope you wouldn't mind answering some of mine as well.""Actually, as far as I can tell, you've basically just been kinda helpful. Right good of you, really."...Strangely enough, Hanska regains control of herself immediately after the interdiction field falls. Some kind of emotional control spell, maybe?Lady of Starvation - Creature - Vampire Cleric Creatures you don't control enter the battlefield tapped. Whenever a creature becomes untapped, its controller loses 1 life. 2/1 Impose is a solid design - it makes me wonder a bit as to what kind of deck it'd slot into (one ability is super aggressive, the other is super defensive), but that's not really a knock against it as such. A 9/10.

Lady Mapi Of course doc. Gotta make sure the demon stays in my head after all.A laughing noise You are correct. We do not have our full power.Weird how the dame got her act back together so quickly. And then I didn't, because the things I was coming up with were unplayable gimmick cards. It hoses Chimney Imp, (some) discard, and memoricide effects, I guess? Still way too narrow, though. 6/10

Lady Mapi Exasperating animal...I scribbled some notes down, under Aiden's name. "Victim knew the outcome... still said yes to treatment..." I muttered. As I wrote, I looked up at Hanska. "Me? I turned to the next page in my notebook."On that topic... how would you say your healing magic works?"

For as long as that card remains exiled, you may cast that card, and you may spend mana as though it were mana of any color to cast that spell. "Rest up a little more, Mei. Silver is nasty stuff - I'd give you a bit more help recovering, but I sadly can't transfer my personal immunity."
I tapped the side of my nose.
"Sometimes being absolutely soaked in poison has its perks."---Hanska pulls out a silver coin and bites it. You watch it turn black before her teeth even touch it.
[I'd appreciate it if you gave Mei a Poison counter.] Vicar of Corrosion - Creature - Vampire Cleric Whenever you would exile a card from your library, you may put that card into your graveyard instead. "Everything leaves a record in rust. You just have to be able to read it."2/2 Mindrip is a vicious, vicious counter... that feels pretty OK, all things considered. Fairly costed and everything. A 9/10.

Of course. I've been waiting :3c "Rest up a little more, Mei.
Heh, would be nice yea. The sun protection and painkillers will have to do for now. Will have to pay you back for that one on top of everything else. --- Mei leans back and closes her eyes. She seems to be breathing easier now that Skylar and his friends are gone.
Mei has two poison counters. She doesn't know what to do with them, but thinks they look cute together. Vicar of Corrosion - hrm, pretty narrow effect in the best of cases, randomly decks you in the worst of cases, like cascade, or Mindrip there, since you'll never fulfill the 'exile an X card' condition. 5/10 (also should be "If" not "When" to be a replacement effect) edit: was pointed out is a may so you don't accidentally die, pretty easy source of intentional decking still tho. also that last line looks more meta than i intended but too late it's staying

Untap it. --- The inspector has a poison counter. She doesn't know what to do with it, but thinks it looks suspicious.I've been expecting this . I smiled politely - this inspector was an insightful one. "Unfortunately, he's unable to speak to you unless you're dying, dead, or heavily poisoned. I will be happy to tell you what you need to know, though. But first... would you like any tea?"(Skipping past her response to that in the interest of saving time - I'm assuming Ms. Ice Queen doesn't partake, but you can surprise me if you so please.) "I've encountered Mei Liva twice. The first time, she came to me out of interest in a cure for a curse. I gave her a charm to protect against fire and sunlight - she was a vampire at that point in time. Ylki says that she also had something big in her head, which seemed to have some measure of control over her." "The second time I met her, she was human, and had a silver bullet lodged into her head. However, due to the circumstances, I couldn't get a very accurate read on her vitals, and Ylki was blocked from sensing her mental passenger. After that, she left after promising me a favor - and, no, I don't know her current location." I neglected to mention how distracted I was by the smell of Rolt's blood."Any other questions on the topic?"---Hanska finishes up her story. She looks expectant.Lady of Loyalty - Creature - Vampire Cleric Players cannot gain control of permanents they don't own. "My servants know their places."2/2 Cold Start is broken. You took Word of Seizing, dropped the rarity and Split Second, then gave it an inconsequential hoop to jump through in exchange for dropping it from CMC 5 to CMC 2. and want very different things out of this effect, so the lack of haste doesn't even really matter - control decks are going to be using this to 2-for-1 attacking creatures or borrow solid artifacts or lands. I can't, in good conscience, give this higher than a 6/10.

A 7/10. Five years later... Gelid Prison doesn't require you to be the one that taps the creatures. Not sure I get the commentary.
Bedchamber Cat: I honestly think this might be a bit overly pushed. The two effects seem like they might synergise too much with one another. Yes, the starting body is weak, but I don't know if that's enough to counterbalance it. 6/10
Hyle doesn't even notice that Hanska died, and turns immediately to the cat. "More of you, and you can switch between bodies or something. No matter. Bigoted?" Hyle chuckles. "I don't want to kill you, I want to talk." She raises one hand. "Just taking precautions. I'd prefer you stayed still. I can't control a soul. I'll just have to trap all of your bodies."
Frost Giant's Touch Instant Tap target creature with power 3 or less and gain control of it until the beginning of its controller's next end step. Draw a card.

I focused a little and converted the traces of Hyle's last meal into a powerful sedative.

The thing that amuses me is that you're not going to get much benefit from stealing Bedchamber Cat in particular - regardless of when you nab it, you're probably not going to have a tapped critters at the start of your upkeep, and I get it back before my own upkeep - so I'm going to dock a point for that, for a final total of 7/10. --- cajun - I'll get to you when I figure out an appropriate response.
