"I come from a plane known as Aelatal, but from what I have gathered, it is a rather untravelled plane by many planeswalkers. From how I've described it in the past, I've been told it's similar to the planes Theros and Zendikar though." Chrysoplei explains. "While we're on this thought process, where are you from?" Soul of Aelatal Legendary Creature - Avatar Beasts, Elementals and Nymphs you control get +1/+1 and have hexproof. , : Create a tapped 2/2 blue Nymph creature token. , Exile ~ from your graveyard: For each Beast, Elemental and Nymph you control, create a token that's a copy of it except it has base power and toughness 2/2. 3/3 (I'm aware it doesn't fit the current Worldsoul cycle, but hey.) Toxic Advocate - The each end step thing may be a bit much? Not entirely sure though. 8/10 "I come from a plane called Ryjelsk. As far as I know, no one really goes there - it's not a very nice place." I set my tea down. "It's kind of nice being somewhere where the woods aren't trying to kill me."Mishka wandered in the room and looked at Chrysoplei. He glanced at me expectantly, and then decided he actually had something to say (for once)...."Honestly, she actually misses it - life is so very boring without risk, isn't it? I'm her familiar Mikhael, by the way." His voice is cheerful, cocky, and entirely in your head. Hanska sighs and shakes her head.World-Forest Dryad - Creature - Dryad Forestwalk When World-Forest Dryad enters the battlefield, target permanent becomes a colorless Forest land until World-Forest Dryad leaves the battlefield. Where she walks, towns take root and armies go to seed.1/3 Soul of Aelatal hits one of my particular fond points - I love multi-type tribal effects. I actually had to double-check that Nymph was an extant type, because I was totally going to suggest Dryads instead . That big "ultimate" ability it has looks a lot scarier than it actually is, while still being plenty scary. A 9/10.

She is... special.Frantic Knocking Instant Draw a card, then discard a card. Untap up to two lands. "No time for pleasantries - I've got a schedule to keep!" I opened the door after the second knock - and it was that short grizzled man from Aiden's house. Of course he'd be here - he looked like someone who was too curious for his own good. "Oh, hello there. Come on in.""You want me to sort him out?""Let her work - I think she has a plan."I ignored the mental intrusions, and continued. "I didn't expect to meet you again," I lied, "but I guess it's good that we did. Hanska Myemii, by the way - I realize that we weren't introduced last time we met. Tea?"I sniffed the air, and grimaced a little. "I suppose you'd want some brandy in it, at that?"...Hanska has opened her door to you. You see a little calico cat napping on a windowsill, a pot of water cheerfully boiling on the stove, and a mess of bundled herbs drying from the rafters.Blank-Eyed Augur - Creature - Vampire Shaman Lifelink Whenever an opponent discards a card, that player loses 1 life and you gain 1 life. 2/2 Frantic Knocking... I'm always a bit wary of this kind of card. It's straight-up mana filtering in , after all - it's a blue Manamorphosis, roughly speaking. I guess it's fine? 7/10, out of fear.

"I'm going to see Hanska tonight. I have to ask her about... about Aiden. And maybe about Mishka too."
"I can come with you, if you'd like." Hannah answered. I thought about it for a moment. I wanted to let her in, but not drag her in.
"You said you weren't sure about what happened to me. I'm not either. I don't think I'm going to like what I find, but I need to know." I paused and looked at her. "If you're prepared for that, then I'd like that."
"I'm definitely coming, then," she said with a smile. "You don't have to deal with this alone."
Karina approached Hanska's house, the Sunspear in one hand and Hannah at her side. It seemed the detective had beaten them here and already gotten Hanska's attention. She scowled at the detective. WindyDelcarlo and gurfafflekins as well) "Well, that's a shame, Rolt. A pleasant day to you."
I looked at Hannah with her mug of... water? Seriously? What was wrong with her home plane?
"Hannah, dearheart, let me help you with that. Do either of you girls take milk or honey with your tea?"
As I busied myself with tea-making, Mishka hopped up on the table and stretched. "Guess you're off the hook, kiddo. And I'll take some of that milk."
After we all made ourselves comfortable, I began to tell my tale."I'm sure both of you remember the demon attack from, oh, a few weeks ago¹. Well, the demon hurt Aiden badly. Really badly. I got there just in time to save him, but..." I glanced at Hannah - I had an obligation to Karina, but... I mentally cursed the fact that it was Hannah who could hear Mikhael.
"I had to use some of my strongest magic to heal him. And it wasn't enough. I went to meet him a few days later, and his chest was filled with burning pain - he was dying, and there was nothing I could do. So I gave him a choice - I could kill him peacefully and painlessly, or I could give him back his strength... for a little bit." I sighed - this was going to be hard.
"He told me about how much he missed his family, and how it would probably be for the best if he died. Then he looked me in the eyes and told me that he couldn't - he had to be there for you for as long as possible. So I did what I could."
I smiled at Karina - it was a sad smile, but a smile all the same.
"Aiden was on borrowed time for the last few days you knew him. I hope he managed to tell you how much you meant to him before he went."... Hanska sips her tea. She expects that you have other questions.
Lady of Stillness - Creature - Dryad Shaman Activated abilities of artifacts and enchantments cost an additional "Tap an untapped creature you control" to activate. 2/2 Hold your Tongue is a pretty good control card - it tells your opponents to play behind the curve or else you get to draw ALL the cards. Very nice. 9/10¹ I legitimately can't remember how long ago it was in the story. Just assume that Hanska is a bit bad with time.

One? Three? More?Blessed Otso - Creature - Bear Spirit Flash When Blessed Otso enters the battlefield, prevent all combat damage that would be dealt this turn by creatures other than Blessed Otso. 2/2 Sense Undead is pretty nifty - I'm kind of surprised that we didn't get anything like it in Innistrad. A 9/10.

Lady of Stillness is really great, I think she can drop down to two mana but it's a 10/10 from me regardless. (re:footnote, it's been 8 days. Hannah was only supposed to be on the Arena for two weeks so the passage of time has gotten super compressed since Kirino :b)

The spear was light as a feather for Hanska too - though cutting herself on it may have proved a little awkward. -- Aiden existed. In the spear, he watched as Melody and Rose sang to each other. He hadn't checked on Karina in a while - he hadn't had the heart to. He'd hurt her so much, and he thought it may be best to just leave her to her life. Even if it meant... being like his own parents . His soul wretched with disgust, the thought causing him to snap out of his thoughts. No. He reopened his eyes to Karina, and saw her sitting with Hanska and Hannah, and watched Hanska cut herself. He sighed. Surely this wouldn't do anything - he'd never fed on blood or anything like that before. He still was not strong enough to leave the spear. Sighing, he felt power surge through him. Wait, what?He felt the blood course through him, and smiled. He felt himself leaving, leaving, and...--A soft burst of light came through the spear, and formed in the shape of Aiden - no more armor. Merely him in normal clothes. "...Hi." his voice echoed slightly. -- [Guest System] (because who wants to actually play the game amirite?) cajun gurfafflekins This seems relevant to you // Hannah throws her arms around Karina the moment Karina starts to break down. Her words are softly spoken."Remember yesterday, when you asked me to leave you because you didn't want to hurt me? I bet he didn't want to hurt you either, so he tried to do that too."... I stare at the elemental figure. Really? Is this really him? How could she so easily bring him back? Not even the best reanimators in Elance could do it that well. Whatever, let's assume it's him. I'm not letting him hurt Karina without feeling it. "How could you do that to Karina? To your daughter?" I demand. Hanska, Death's Daughter - a unique solution to the problem, I must admit. Hanska is a monowhite vindicate here tho, should really O-ring or be a 'you control' or something, but think i've got to lessen that knock based on the rest. 8/10(going to retread a few lines to help with the "wait what order is this happening in?" problem) (the BB mechanics of this have gotten a bit awk. Going to say Aiden attacks Hanska and the kids are assisting her defense for now) Lady Mapi gurfafflekins WindyDelcarlo "I... I must have hurt him more than the demon did, didn't I?" I couldn't hold back the tears anymore.// Hannah throws her arms around Karina and speaks softly to her."I'm not sure he's entirely gone Karina... Your spear. I'm pretty sure he left it behind for a reason." Hanska cut herself on the spear, the snake venom running over the sunstone. For a moment, nothing changed. Why would it, I thought bitterly.
But after the moment of nothing, the spear glowed its soft white, growing and growing until finally, the light was the soldier that had saved me from and put me through so much.
I wanted to hug him and never let him go. I wanted to scream at him for leaving, like Hannah was doing. I wanted to cry for my first parents, who would never come back. I wanted to punch him for waiting so long to come back. I wanted to apologize for being such a problem that he wanted to leave. I wanted to not be overwhelmed by the mess of things I wanted all at the same time.
"Why?" I finally managed. "Why didn't you tell me? About... about anything?" I wiped at the tears in my eyes. "I wouldn't have left you." Overwhelming Emotions Instant Choose one or more - • Target creature gets +1/+1 and gains flying until end of turn. • Target creature gets +1/+0 and gains first strike until end of turn. • Switch target creature's power and toughness until end of turn. • Tap target creature. WindyDelcarlo , cajun , gurfafflekins OK, thanks for the defense, gurfaffles. Hoo boy, those are some vicious attacks by the two young ladies! Let's see if I can block them with one critter. I looked at the girls, and sighed a little internally. The first dead loved one is always the hardest, isn't it? I gently put a hand on Hannah's shoulder, and tried to usher her out of the room. "Come along, Hannah, we should leave those two to talk. I'm sure they'll have some things they want to talk about that we shouldn't overhear, eh?"---The last sound you hear before the door shuts is Hanska saying "So, Hannah, I suppose you have questions about Mishka..."Silent-Song Haltija - Creature - Elemental Spirit Flash, hexproof When Silent-Song Haltija enters the battlefield, exile all other¹ creatures. Return those cards to the battlefield under their owner's control at the beginning of the next end step. Let there be nothing but the rustling of leaves in the wind.4/3 Repremand is a pretty standard blue combat trick - seems to be costed quite fairly. A 9/10. Overwhelming Emotions, on the other hand... wow, this thing is pushed. A solid combat trick plus soft removal plus a power/toughness swap for that cost is already really strong, and the flexibility on top of that pushes it over the edge. As much as it pains me, I can't give you more than a 6/10 here. ¹ Left that out when I posted this. Ignore it when you're rating the card, though - I just... forgot it was a creature. Because I'm an idiot.

// Hannah ducks under Hanska's hand, accidentally spilling a minimal amount of tea onto the ground. Hannah looks at it for a moment before looking back up at the woman.
"I'm sorry, Miss Hanska. I do have questions, but later. I promised Karina she didn't have to face this alone, so I'm not leaving her."
Flash hexproof 4/3 already seems really good, blanking an entire combat step seems nuts? And then it also triggers any ETB effects over again, which is insane, I think. (Including its own, which you'd need to fix.) This definitely feels like it should cost more even without the self-infinite. 6/10
(No mechanical response yet, Karina's also got a thing to do and she's the whole reason Hannah's here.)

The last sound you hear before the door shuts is Hanska saying "So, Hannah, I suppose you have questions about Mishka..." Conversation booped over here cause it's srsly over two pages long and technicolor. Think WindyDelcarlo is taking another swing after this, but Karina needs a minute. Silent-Song Haltija - i will choose to read the other. still a bit spoopy. think i'd like this at 3GW 7/10 "Now... about Mishka?"

I take Karina into my arms for a moment. "Where should we be sleeping? With the holes and everything..."
"I heard they were going to try to get rid of the one over my room, but I don't know if they did yet. I can still get into the clinic? I do have training early, though."
"If I'm welcome, I'll always stay," I return with a smile. "I've just gotta ask a question to Miss Hanska first."
"Miss Hanska? About Mikhael... Why am I the only one that can hear him? I tried to figure it out but couldn't find anything... unique about me."Perceived Singularity Instant Target nonland permanent and each permanent that shares a name with that permanent become legendary until end of turn. Draw a card. cajun, in case you want to hear this (you would be present). "I'm not entirely sure why you can hear Mishka - he normally only talks to druids and the like, and as far as I can tell you don't seem to have any aptitude for that kind of magic." I chose not to mention that he also talks to murderers - that was his business, not mine. And, in any case, Hannah wasn't a killer.
"I mean, he could have just taken a shine to you, Hannah. He's a cat - they tend to do as they please. Care to comment, Mishka?"
"Kid, there's nothing special about you... yet. Don't worry, you'll figure it out." And with that, he fell asleep. I sighed.
"I guess that's the best we're going to get out of him right now. I'll bug him about it later when he ca-" And then there was a loud ringing noise. It woke me up - the bastard.
"Did either of you girls hear that?"
---
Hanska and Mishka appear to be looking around for some sound that neither of you heard. Then Mishka bolts out the door. Hanska gives you both a long-suffering look.
"He'll be back."Sage of the Library - Creature - Spirit Wizard Whenever a creature you control dies, you may put the top two cards of your library into your graveyard. Then you may put a land card from your graveyard onto the battlefield tapped if that creature was legendary. 1/3 Perceived Singularity is rather blue... but it's also a blue kill spell, especially against token hordes/Relentless Rats/etc. Not sure of how comfortable I am with that at . I'm going to be cautious and call it an 8/10.

"Something about this place feels off. Its aura is unnerving", Hyle thinks. "Can a healer really dwell in these parts? Perhaps I should check this place for necromancers..." Hyle focuses, attempting to track the presence of the undead in the area with her magic.
Sense Undead Instant Creatures you control get +1/+1 until end of turn. Whenever a creature you control blocks or becomes blocked by a Spirit, Vampire, or Zombie this turn, it gets an additional +1/+1 until end of turn and gains indestructible until end of turn.
Your tracking leads you right to a quaint little cottage a little bit past town. You can feel an undead presence inside, but you can't really get a firm sense of how many abominations are in there. One? A 9/10.
"This must be the place." A thought strikes Hyle suddenly. What if the undead had murdered the healer? It would not be safe to attract unnecessary attention. She melts into a puddle of water and slithers underneath the front door, looking around for signs of sentient life, and to get a sense of what kind of person the occupant of the cottage was by looking at the state it was in.
Become Liquid Instant Choose one- Until end of turn, target creature you control can't be blocked and gains hexproof. Return target creature to its owner's hand.

I noticed a puddle of water coming under the door. Strange - it wasn't raining. I sighed and grabbed a mop - last time this happened, the wood by the entrance warped.
...
You see a small woman - clearly undead to your heightened senses - trying to mop you up. The rest of the cottage seems rather neat.Warpwood Haltija - Creature - Spirit Hexproof Whenever a creature would deal combat damage to you, you may prevent that damage. If you do, Warpwood Haltija fights that creature. 1/4 Become Liquid... when I first read this, I missed the first line and thought that this was horrendously pushed. As it stands, it seems to be pretty fair. A 9/10.

"Hm?" I look around, trying to see what sound they were talking about. "I didn't hear anything, no."
This is definitely how to handle death triggers in green if you don't want all your things to have modular. 8/10
(This doesn't seem like a meaningful place to make an attack since it's not something Hannah is trying to press.)

(Taking place a few days after anything relating to Aiden and the kiddos.) When Hanska would next look at her teapot, she would find it was completely fine. She would be able to make her tea as normal, and enjoyed the wonderful taste of the tea. But when she went to put the teapot back where it normally was stored, she would find another teapot in it's place. It was pure white ceramic, no marks or stains, no patterns or engravings.Your stares feed us.Ominous Teapot Artifact - Clue Hexproof Clues you control have hexproof. , sacrifice ~: Draw a card. We know you seek us. But where are we?Where could it possibly have come from..?

Hyle restores her solid physical form and smacks the broom away, raising from the puddle in an attempt to use the surprise effect and her slightly larger size to pin the woman's wrists down to the nearbiest flat surface. Whether the attempt fails or succeeds, she will try to introduce herself later and ask: "I am Hyle Seritani. Are you Hanska Myemii?"
Immobilise Instant Tap target creature or planeswalker. Its activated abilities can't be activated this turn. Draw a card.
Note: Hyle usually has two legs when materialising on land.

We know you seek us. But where are we?Where could it possibly have come from..? I picked up the teapot. It looked quite nice - I certainly didn't own anything as fancy. Or, well, maybe I did. Finder's keepers. "Thank you, whoever left this. It's a nice housewarming gift, and better late than never." "Hello, Mr. Secrets. My name is Mishka, and I can smell you - you can't get past a cat that easily."... Hanska happily packs away the teapot with the good china. Mishka seems to be staring off into space. Clumsy Kitten - Creature - Cat First strike, lifelink At the beginning of combat on your turn, any opponent may sacrifice an artifact. If they do, tap Clumsy Kitten. 2/1 Ominous Teapot seems pretty fair - normally I'd question giving Clues hexproof, but since you love making nontoken clues... A 9/10. The white text needs some work, though. Hanska is basically the last person to bother with this - Mishka, on the other hand...
