"Then it is truly a tragedy that we no longer wield such power." It was doubtless also a good thing that it wasn't available to anyone who would use it for nefarious purposes, but surely the good outnumbered the bad? Novek could only hope that was the case. "Is it possible that we could wield a similar amount of power again if we were to work together, perhaps with additional assistance?" She began rummaging around in her archive for a book which was proving difficult to find. Crownless Guardian: The ability to take control of an opponent's creature for more than a single turn is something that should be done considerably more carefully than this, especially in white - never mind that you're also putting +1/+1 counters on it. 5/10.

froggy Near the periphery of one of the Arena's forests, a peculiar wanderer has been sighted examining the local flora. His garb seems to be made of what appears to be a form of cloth, but his tools and equipment are all made from a different substance entirely, wood, stone, or even metal absent from their designs. Currently, he seems to be interested in a wild foodstuff nestled near the roots of a large tree, taking notes in a paper journal. He seems in his element, even if the natural surroundings are unfamiliar to him. Frontier Pathfinder Creature - Human Scout Trample Frontier Pathfinder enters the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter on it. “Before we can call this place home, we must first know our way through it.”[1/1] Aelewin, tucked away into the shadows of the forest, grimaces. They had not been anticipating contact, but times had been rough, and their attempts at locating residence had been.. ill-fated, to say the least. Cautiously, they emerge from the underbrush, hand tightly on their blade. The still not-fully healed wound in their shoulder aches, but they deign to ignore it."Greetings, friend."Frontier Pathfinder: Sure. 8/10

Aelewin nods in acknowledgement of the mercenary, and bends, still watching them retreat, to pick up Selem with their free hand, still tightly clutching their original blade."And what would you have me do now, spirit?"Faux Surrender: Feels like this is gonna feel p nasty but also that might just be me. 8/10Sunshield Instant Target creature you control gets +1/+1 and gains first strike and indestructible until end of turn. Sunshield: 7/10. I think that giving first strike and indestructible is redundant. Aelewin blinks and the blade is gone from between their fingers. If you need ask, then you are not ready.Looking up, the mercenary who wielded it is also gone.

"Greetings to you as well, just a moment more if I may." A minute plus a few additional moments pass as he finishes his observations, before he rose and turned to Aelwin.
Though his manner was calm and focused, his eyes would indicate his unfamiliarity with the...concept, of Aelwin. Their appearance, their clothing, even the blade in their hand would receive a look before he focused his attention on the individual at the center of it all. "I hope I haven't disturbed you. I think this will scale reasonably well, though it's overall strength depends on what's giving counters.

froggy "It would certainly be something to look into, though it sounds as though reaching that goal would be a long quest in itself: I was hoping to find a more... expeditious solution. I'll take my leave to pursue such; should I find one, or information that would aid with your aims, I will find you again." With that, Novek gave a polite nod to Aelewin, returned her volume to the archive, and set off toward the horizon. A long-term quest for a solution was an improvement over no quest at all, but she hoped for something simpler. Elegant Wavedancer - The name of this card lead me to believe that it would be blue. That's a fine effect for a white 2mv uncommon, though. 9/10.

On a cold morning, Doer approaches Aelewin. The cat looks battered and bruised, his left arm bandaged and his fur scorched and bloodied. He has seen better days. Even the Weapon on his back looks smaller and more blunt than usual. "Good meowrning meowsterss... I had one question for you..." The cat pauses for a few seconds, pondering his next words. "You haven't lost a pet or something lately, right? More precisely a big shadow monster that controls the souls of the dammned or something like that? I don't meown to be rude, but I ran onto it last night and... well, you see the result." The cat turns around, letting Aelewin see his recent wounds. "When we fought togheter against those aberrations from the Elsewhere you used shadow meowgic, so I drew the connection..." The cat looks at Aelewin, with bloodshot eyes and a troubled expression. He doesn't seem agressive though, and is cleary no in shape to take any fight.Fear of the Dark Sorcery Target player discards two cards. If only black mana was spent to cast ~, draw a card.

froggy Arandu notices her gesture, eyes flicking between Aelewin's hand and their face for a moment, clearly the one most off his guard between them. He didn't seem to mind that they'd been on their guard, nodding his head forward in some form of greeting. "It is good to meet others out here. You may call me Arandu, and since this is where I presume your home lays, may I know yours as well?"Polite, but his speech contained an interesting way of addressing their location, neatly stepping around the idea that this region belonged to Aelewin, as it were. froggy Arandu nodded at the elf's introduction, though did seem to puzzle over 'bloodsworn foe' for a moment before letting it pass. While on a rare it's fine, I don't think this effect is anything but niche, especially since you have to pay in addition to whatever cost was required to put the counter on the thing in the first place. Not weak, it's a good effect, but strange to utilize effectively. 7/10

"Well it'd be better if you were to lay down, though if that's also not ideal I'm sure we can compromise somehow," he replied, gesturing for them to do so wherever was most comfortable. From within his garb he searched for a moment while Aelewin set herself, presuming them was doing as he requested. "I don't really have the means to treat anything more than the symptoms, though to be fair if we were at my camp it'd be the same deal but with a stronger solution on hand."
He sat on his knees beside the elf, examining them as much as was required and within decency before producing what seemed to be a small square container from his person. The exterior seemed simple enough, though the material was definitely not local as it gave the impression of shining a bit in what little light that reached the camp was also not being reflective like metal. "This can mostly deal with pain, though if the injury is worse, muscle tearing, broken bones, you seem to be able to move it so it isn't dislocated, but that too if it were the case, are beyond my medical capabilities." Wrath of the Land: This is a mix of cards like Ichor Explosion and Life's Legacy, though a more fair comparison is Chandra's Ignition. Given that, I think this is too cheap, though maybe not by much, due to the versatility, but needing a good creature already to make either mode work is an upfront cost. Might be fine at 4, definitely 5. 6/10.

"This is far more severe than I anticipated, I...am afraid this is beyond my knowledge and my capabilities of treating." He winces as he says it, the thought of promising help but being unable to provide it seeming to displease him deeply, before he steeled his face, and he opened the container in his hand. A slight crack as he peeled back a layer of material, revealing a congealed mass within. "However, I say treat, but I can at least stabilize it, hopefully. If you know someone with the skill for it, magical healing might be your first choice, a skill I unfortunately do not possess in this case." He placed the container down, reaching once more within his cloak before he produced a flask of water, followed shortly by a cloth. Carefully, he poured water onto both of his hands before drying them off, catching some soil that had clung to them from his studies into the local plantlife, before returning his attention to Aelewin. "My second choice, which is likely more rare, is surgery, though as before, I do not possess the skills for, nor do I know anyone who does." Arandu considered his next option, before placing two of his fingers, now bereft of soil, into the substance he had revealed before, and then began to rub it against the worst of Aelewin's wound, a grin determination on his face. "To my understanding, this should prevent further infection, and might allow it to heal on its own, slowly. If there's any dead tissue in this though, you'll require it to be removed, and this will not help whoever has to do that for you." It stung, as it does when a material is applied to an open wound, but the pain would slowly give way to that same dull ache as before, before slowly settling somewhere beneath the original feeling the more Arandu applied. Several more minutes passed before Arandu seemed satisfied, and tore more of the material off of the medicine bearing container and placing the torn strip, no larger than his palm, directly onto the wound. "Don't take this off unless someone else is treating the wound, even if the pain becomes worse," Arandu instructed, a hand glowing slightly just a few inches from the strip of material. It began to stretch, sliding across Aelewin's skin over their wound before wrapping around it at the other end, a thin crease separating from halves from each other, now a bandage no thicker than a few pieces of paper. " If it needs to come off, tear it along the line here," he held up Aelewin's arm, pointing to the crease that had settled along the inner part of their arm, "it should come off easily. If not, don't be afraid to break it, it's harmless in this state, and it won't be sharp enough to hurt you when removing it." Arandu gently placed the elf's arm back down, before facing her.
