Welcome to the Deckbuilders' Challenge originally created by sdfkjgh! To participate in this Contest you'll have to design a deck along the contest guidelines and throw it into the arena with other competitors' entries! At the end of every two weeks, a winner will be determined by forum poll, and the winner decides the challenge for the next fortnight's Contest! Here we go, competitors: our thirty-ninth challenge! The winner of the “Please vote! poll“ was Daij_Djan with... |
{Comments} Lands and mana rocks aside, every single card in this deck involves voting, picking numbers or making choices of any kind for one or all of your opponents. This includes a small Edict subtheme to work with Negan. Since otherwise the deck however is mostly tied together by theme rather than a solid gameplan, it's most likely a lower-powered deck to play with. Still, I think all those interactions and possible diplomacy opportunities are fun – if you don't mind playing with Negan too much |
And the challenge issued by our winner was... Funnily enough, today I have to offer one challenge for the new CotW as well as for this game – so how about we give both a similar theme? Your challenge is to build a deck using at least one card referring to another specific one by name.Feel free to pick any format you like. Have fun! Please provide a decklist using deckstats, tappedout or similar. Feel free to add some comments as they will be included in the final poll. Please provide a deck name as well as choose a card to represent your deck in the poll. And now, time to begin the challenge! Best of luck, competitors!

Yeah, I wasn't able to come up with a DFC deck in time. Sucks but that's life I guess. I was ultimately hoping to just learn Standard Werewolves but in the end I didn't even have time for that.
I'm either making a deck that uses name-using cards with their targets or doing one with a very specific janky one in mind - just jotting it down here so I don't forget.

Seriously, why are there so many high-quality humans (in mtg)? IIRC because Humans have to be (usually) printed every set for repeatability reasons; the rest is just the law of averages.

Yeah, that is kind of a joke remark.
BTW, I have a busy week or so ahead so I make a quick lazy desicion of only choosing partner commanders to meet the requirement of the challenge. I bet there are lots of opening space for the concept.

All Teferi Tribal(Modern, Teferi)DecklistYou will run into many a Modern player arguing that the existence of Teferi, Time Raveler is killing Magic. This is especially likely if you're in an area with lots of Control players. So what better way to show your appreciation for their passion for Teferi than bury them in Teferis? This deck pretty much exists to do one thing and one thing only - play as many annoying Teferi cards and PWs as possible to give the opponent as hard a time as possible. Aside from Modern staples Path to Exile and Counterspell, every bit of soft or hard removal we have has Teferi's name or face on it somewhere, or is Teferi himself. As for how we win, we 'win' by making our opponent deal with Teferi so often you'd think sdfkjgh was running a blog posting marathon with him while organizing a jailbreak at the same time. While it is technically possible to ult a Hero of Dominaria or get a creature to push enough damage through, our prime goal is to remind all those excited players that Teferi is here to stay in Magic: the Gathering as friend to control/card advantage/combo. #ShitpostingOnTheSevens

I hate the deck concept, but I love the pandering to me. Hmmm, decisions, decisions...
Ral: Hey, that's MY line!
Oh, take a hike, Zarek. You'll have your time in the sun in today's #ShitpostingOnTheSevens.
