Welcome to the Card of the Week Contest! To participate in this Contest you'll have to design a card along the contest guidelines and throw it into the arena with other competitors' entries! At the end of each week, a winner will be determined by forum poll. The winner's card will be rendered and featured on the Welcome page, and the winner decides the challenge for the next week's Contest! Here we go, competitors: our three-hundred and sixty-first challenge! The winner of the "Vernacular Shift #1" poll was Giraculum with...And the challenge issued by our winner was... Design a Saga summarizing a block from Magic, with one ability for each set. An ability can span multiple chapters, in case you want a three-chapter saga for a block with only two sets. It won't be possible to capture every story beat, so just go for synergistic effects that capture the gist. To increase your chances of winning and to also make creating the poll easier on whomever is doing so, please try to use a render. Additionally, please try to keep your entry edits all in one post - if you need to change it you can put your old entry in a spoiler marked "Old entry" and leave the newest rendition to be seen. Just use the edit button in the top/right of your original post. And now, time to begin the challenge! Best of luck, competitors!

Let's face it, the official story for Dominaria was rushed trash. The REAL story of the set was what errbody & their brother wanted to know about:
The Price of Yar-Kul's Ambition (As this Saga enters and after your draw step, add a lore counter. Sacrifice after IV.) I.--Create Yar-Kul, a legendary black 0/1 Human Minion creature token with “This creature enters the battlefield with two +1/+1 counters on it” and “As long as this creature has no counters on it, it’s an Insect Minion.” II.--Remove all counters from another target permanent. III.--You may sacrifice a creature. If you do, draw two cards and create a 1/3 black Frog creature token with reach. IV.--You may sacrifice a Frog. If you do, each opponent loses 3 life and you create Yargle, a legendary black 9/3 Frog Spirit creature token. Legendary Enchantment--Saga

My first pre-release event was the Kaladesh prerelease, so I decided to do Kaladesh/Aether Revolt. I, II: The fair is in full swing, as people are inventing all the magnificent artifacts (Servo Tokens) and inspiring the people of Kaladesh (card draw) III: In Aether Revolt, Tezeret seizes these artifacts and secures the Planar Gate. In terms of the Saga, between artifacts and lands, you could easily play your own Planar Gate during chapter 3.

While Zendikar and Worldwake did't really have a separate story, this is my interpretation of it: I: Chandra casts Ghostfire in the conflict between her, Jace and Sarkhan. II: Nissa, Sorin and Anowon travel to the Eye of Ugin to fix the damage done by Chandra and the others. III: The Eldraze come free. Yes, if you don't have any colored permanents as III resolves, you just get a token. {text}Release of the Eldrazi Enchantment - Saga Devoid (This card has no color.)I - Release of the Eldrazi deals 3 damage to any target. II - Reveal cards from the top of your library until you reveal a land card. Put that card onto the battlefield and the rest on the bottom of your library in a random order. III - Sacrifice two colored permanents, then create a 10/10 colorless Eldrazi creature token.

Madness Grips Innistrad Enchantment — Saga Devoid I — Create a colorless enchantment token with "Each card you own that isn't on the battlefield has madness. The madness cost is equal to its mana cost." II — Investigate twice. III — Create a 3/2 colorless Eldrazi Horror creature token. Went more with storytelling with this card. I: Things in Innistrad go mad. II: The Gatewatch poke around to find out why... III: ...and find out that the Eldrazi (particularly Emrakul) are to blame.

I decided to do a card for Kamigawa block. The gist of the story is that Lord Konda stole a piece of O-Kagachi, which led to the Kami attacking the mortal realm. At the end of the story, Konda's daughter frees the Stolen One and they defeat both Konda and O-Kagachi, becoming the new guardians of Kamigawa.
I included the names of all five artists of the basic lands, since they are all panorama pieces.

I've chosen Alara block for my saga.
I - Shards of Alara - We're introduced to the five shards, each one teeming with magical possibilites.
II - Conflux - The shards are mashed together after being apart for many centuries. There's so much to discover (and invade)!
III - Alara Reborn - The Maelstrom sits at the meeting point between the five former shards, and it surges with chaotic power. If only someone had a plan to harvest all this power...
I had a bit of fun creating a composite artwork for this.
Enchantment - Saga (As this Saga enters and after your draw step, add a lore counter. Sacrifice after III.) I - Search your library for a multicolored card, reveal it, put it into your hand, then shuffle. II - Scry X, where X is the number of multicolored permanents you control.
III - The next spell you cast from your hand this turn has cascade.

First two chapters depict the Amonkhet trials (note: red can make creatures fight even if you control none of them), while the third one obviously depicts Hour of Devastation.

As much as using Phyrexian mana is a bad idea, you can't have a Scars of Mirrodin saga without it.
