Jartis Warden of the Beyond was an inspiration for the card I took an entry I made in Picture into Card once and updated it a bit. Smogswimmer Creature - Elemental When Smogswimmer enters or leaves the battlefield, target player mills six cards. Evoke (You may cast this spell for its evoke cost. If you do, it’s sacrificed when it enters the battlefield.)6/4

gamma3, not to be pushy but this is The Golden Game. Smouldering Champion 2RW Creature - Elemental Soldier {Uncommon} If noncombat damage would be dealt to ~, prevent it. ~ deals that much damage to target creature or plansewalker an opponent controls. 3/3

Spontaneous Invocation Tribal Sorcery - Elemental You may put an Elemental creature card from your hand onto the battlefield. That creature gains haste. Return that creature to its owner's hand at the beginning of the next end step. Bane of Progress, Mulldrifter, Thundermare...the possibilities are endless!

Judging henceforth: Flo00 - Smogswimmer
First off, love that art. Mechanically, it's a pretty standard mill card. Milling twelve for four mana is fairly efficient, and you can leave it on the field as a strong body. I love evoke, and giving it both an an etb and an ltb effect is a good use of it. Sanfonier of the Night - Makayros, Shark Skyland
The Omnath inspiration here is pretty clear: it makes elemental tokens from lands and deals damage when elementals enter. It seems a little stronger than M20 Omnath accounting for the difference in CMC. I like it, and I like Omnath, but I think it's not quite different enough from Omnath. gamma3 - Flashforce
A standard tribal card that spreads keywords. Playable if not particularly remarkable. Nice flavor text, though. SilentKobold - Smouldering Champion
I'm a fan of Boros elementals, and I like the half-Stuffy Doll, half-Stormwild Capridor effect that protects it from burn as well as turning damage-based board wipes like everyone's favorite Star of Extinction on your opponent. Seems like a sideboard card. ZephyrPhantom - Spontaneous InvocationThe only tribal card to be submitted, and it's one I really enjoy, as it effectively gives all your elementals evoke - but they go back to your hand! I really like this card, and it has a lot of possible uses - Avenger of Zendikar, Tyrant of Discord, the Cavaliers... not to mention the cards that already have evoke. Winner is ZephyrPhantom ! Runner-up is Flo00

Thanks for the win!
Your next challenge is to Create a Vehicle that is three or more colors. I'm especially interested in janky Vehicles (but will prioritize quality over being eccentric, so don't just go slapping 10 different old keywords onto a vehicle for no good reason!). Good luck!

For those unaware, the Izzet League frequently designs and builds armaments for the Boros Legion. Interestingly, you're also pretty likely to find in Goblin in either guild. So I'll admit straight up, I didn't really design with the colors in mind here, as much as I wanted to represent that this monstrosity was a collaboration between the two guilds.

Maelstrom-Powered Cart Artifact - Vehicle Cascade (When you cast this spell, exile cards from the top of your library until you exile a nonland card that costs less. You may cast it without paying its mana cost. Put the exiled cards on the bottom in a random order.)Crew 3 (Tap any number of creatures you control with total power 3 or greater: This Vehilce becomes an artifact creature until end of turn.)Whenever Mealstrom-Powered Cart deals combat damage to a player, look at the top card of your library. You may play or exile it. 6/6 Just to clarify that last sentence: It's optional, so you can also just leave the card on top. It says play, so if it is a land and you have a land play available, you can play it.

Jartis - It's a funny idea that made me laugh, so points for flavor on that. I think the card struggles a bit upon a closer inspection, though - specifically, it's a Vehicle that when destroyed via combat will kill the creatures crewing it. This might've made more sense if it had a better value as a creature but as is it's not exactly better than comparable cards like Peacewalker Colossus or Untethered Express, and while I get that it disincentivizes blocking I think what will practically happen in a lot of games this gets used in is that it gets hit by instant-speed removal and you lose all the creatures you stacked onto it, making it have a somewhat feel-bad design. I think the best route to go to make this more of an "Oh no don't block/kill this thing without thinking" type card would to be to change it to something like "When ~ dies, you may have it deal 4 (?) damage to up to two target creatures" or something like that. It's arguably fine as is but either needs to be a little stronger to justify its high risk or its risk needs to be lowered a bit. viriss - Seems super straightfoward at first until you read the line "When Pleasure Barge crews itself". Very clever, and uses a lot of simple existing mechanics to create something new without seeming too forced. I like the use of Jund colors to represent it flavorfully and prevent it from just being card advantaged splashed easily into a lot of decks, feels like a retooled variant of Aethersphere Harvester's niche, almost. Very solid design both flavorfully and mechanically, and set ready. Flo00 - It's like Bomat Bazaar Barge, Maelstrom Nexus, and Maelstrom Archangel all came together in a workshop. Vehicles don't have a lot of ETBs so I think this is a good way to start exploring that design space via an already existing keyword, and there's something to be said about the cleverness of Cascading into a creature that can then crew the cart. Seems like a fun set-ready 5-color payoff. gamma3 - A clever way to make a Vehicle lord without explicitly making it about Vehicles. I only wish there was a render or a flavortext so I could have a better guess at what this thing is - a chariot? a steampunk dragster? etc.... Straightfoward, but captures well what the quirky Vehicles-matters type decks want to do, and does it well enough. Set-ready. 1st: viriss 2nd: Flo00 and gamma3

Mardultimatum Instant Cast Mardultimatum only during your turn during the declare attackers step. Put any number of creature cards from your hand onto the battlefield tapped and attacking. Creatures you control get +2/+0 and gain first strike until end of turn. I admit, the mana cost looks weird that way, yer this is how Mardu did it: Wedge sorting, red-centerd.

Flo00 That cost DOES look funny! Wow! What an all out attack card! "Any number" feels too good but probably isn't much different than a reasonable number. Hehe. Glad it's only usable on attacking. Feels more right that way. Though it doesn't need to be an instant. The difference between that and just a plain sorcery that also grants haste is very small. Jartis Hmmm... +X/+X, nice. Each fights "any number" seems confusing to me. Does my elf drop and fight all of the enemy creatures? Does that even work? lol, no idea. Then, drain 1 life for each death. What a finisher! Bam. They're both, good. Can it be a tie?

Okay, bit of a weird one given how little support this type of card has to begin with, but I would like everyone to design a multicolored "Form of" card. The "Form of" cards are rare enchantments intended to represent the player themselves as a card on the battlefield. I won't require that it be rare, but I think it should probably stay as an enchantment.

Form of the Gorgon Enchantment When ~ enters the battlefield, your life total becomes 15. Whenever a creature deals damage to you, destroy it. "My sight is stillness, and my foes will never break from it."Worth noting you can ping yourself with creatures to sort-of sacrifice them.

Form of the Thunderbird Enchantment Creatures without flying or reach can't attack you. At the beginning of your upkeep, CARDNAME deals 3 damage to target creature.

ZephyrPhantom This is the Golden Game, remember! Form of the Giant Enchantment When ~ enters the battlefield, your life total becomes equal to your starting life total. At the beginning of your end step, you may sacrifice a permanent. If you do, ~ deals damage equal to its converted mana cost to any target.

I feel like this happens pretty often to me in this game because I start with a guild idea, end up going "Oh, I technically don't need this color for it" mid-process, and then slash it off without thinking. Thanks for pointing that out, I've switched it back to the intended Golgari design.

Judging { ZephyrPhantom}Very flavorful, and I like that it isn't just combat damage. I think it's well costed, and obviously spot on with the colors. Also interesting in Commander, where you could let some damage go through so someone gets their creature destroyed in a way that could benefit you and them equally. { viriss}Weird to me that the Beholder stops you from casting spells. I get that it turns all your spells into damage, but I feel like most beholders have some utility spells in their eyestalks. It seems especially weird that it stops you from casting spells while simultaneously being in the spell castingest color combo in Magic. I like the idea, I'm just not sold on the execution. { gamma3}A bit of protection with a free Lightning Bolt every turn. I like that it's balanced by forcing you to bolt your own creatures if there's no other targets, but giving yourself that kind of evasion on an enchantment could be deadly to some decks. Now, one could argue that those decks should have something to deal with it, but not every color gets enchantment removal every set, and flight/reach can be hard to come by too. { thaneofglamis}A play on Brion Stoutarm-esque effects with life setting that changes based on format. I dig it for Boros. Also pairs nicely with red effects that gain control of creatures until end of turn, since I'm pretty sure you can arrange the triggers so that you're throwing them before they get returned. { kefke}A three color Form, in an underused color combo, that (probably) hurts you as it comes in and forces you to play aggressively, but rewards that aggressive play in a big way. There's a lot of text here, and I'm not sure how balanced it is overall, but given how heavily costed it is for what it does, I'd at least give it a shot. I like what's going on here.
