This saw moderate success in the old forum, so I'm remaking it for those of you who are too creatively bankrupt for Battle Boards like myself who love gold cards like myself. The rules are simple: the thread follows the "challenge" format, with the previous winner deciding on a contest, judging entries and then selecting a new winner to set the next challenge. The twist, of course, is that all the entries must be multicolored cards. To make it more interesting, the judge may set additional color criteria, such as requiring a specific color, banning a specific color, requiring a specific number of colors, or whatever else you could think of. (The judge may also decide whether or not to allow hybrid mana casting costs (meaning hybrid-framed cards, rather than gold-framed cards). I wouldn't allow them personally but the present judge should... be the judge)

Alright, to kick off the new thread in a similar fashion to the last one: Design a gold removal spell that includes . (It can be more than 2 colors this time, if you really want.)

Question: Are split cards like Fire /// Ice gold? Their color identity is considered to be both, but this seems like an iffy territory alongside hybrid mana. ~Zuty

Zuty : Yeah I'd class them alongside hybrid mana spells. As for their validity in this contest I think it depends on the context - in this case I'm after a removal spell with + other colours, so if one or both sides had that (e.g. Trial // Error, or even Rise // Fall) then it would be fine whereas Fire // Ice wouldn't. So probably not in the sense you're talking about, sorry. edit: OFC like hybrid cards if anyone wants to include split cards with multicoloured colour identities in their contests that's fine xox

Mizzium Malfunction Instant Return target nonland permanent to it's owner's hand. That player then takes damage equal to the number of cards in their hand. The ethically thing to do would be to issue a recall, but it was easier to rebrand them as "Explosive."

kinotherapy : Thanks for the clarification. Now I can work on my entry. Attachment DeletedHarsh Reality Instant Choose one — - Destroy all aura enchantments target player controls.
- Destroy all non-aura enchantments target player controls.
The auramancer hid behind all his wards and magical enhancements, yet with a single word she shattered them all. might typically not like destroying things, but I think not having them destroy enchants (specifically auras) is a missed opportunity. I can see a mage facing off against a creature with Eldrazi Conscription on it, and by simply pulling a single thread breaking that spell completely. What better color to teach you the harsh realities of the world than Mr. "know it all" ? ~Zuty

Mirror Paralysis Enchantment - Aura Enchant creature When CARDNAME enters the battlefield, create a token that's a copy of enchanted creature. Enchanted creature can't attack or block as long as there's a creature with the same name as it on the battlefield. The sight of one's own flaws can be too much to bear.

@daij_djan {Lashmens Edict}This is a pretty cool effect that will have a lot of early game utility, but (depending on format, I guess) will still be valuable throughout the game as it'll catch a lot of removal and other counterspells aswell as any random cheap creatures. Also has a kind of weird anti- Force Spike effect where, if you pass on the play on turn 3, it punishes your opponents for NOT playing on curve. The exile effect, similar to Fatal Push, along with Edict in the name makes me feel like that ought to be a little , though it's much more of a Charm than an Edict. gamma3 {Mental Scarring}This is a pretty awful card, though it can be kind of hard to see why at first. For a punisher effect to be good, both choices must be undesirable for the opponent, which means they should both be worth more than the mana you spend on them. For the base case of X=1 (since X=0 does nothing) you could have just played a hard counter, like Psychic Strike. For any higher than that you're massively overpaying, and in the event that the lifeloss will actually matter, they'll just let the spell be countered. Compare Perplex, which has a much stronger effect and is still only even slightly playable because of transmute Casstastrophe {Air Lash}Tempo for the tempo colours. Board wide tap down effects tend to be rather expensive because they can lead to blowouts (also they can come with additional effects e.g. Cryptic Command, they still can't really be found cheaply) which makes me think that, with an additional bounce, this might be too strong. Though I'm not really sure, and I like what it's doing in any case. HvT {Mizzium Malfunction}From my first look at this I thought it was massively overcosted, but after looking it up and finding Sudden Impact I was surprised. I really like the space that this card fills, as a way of rewarding the card disadvantage usually associated with bounce spells, and while it functions by itself it sort of suggests to me a Owling Mine style deck, maybe with Fevered Visions. Small nitpick is it should be "~ deals damage to that player equal to etc". Zuty {Harsh Reality}I see your point and I'm afraid I'm just going to have to disagree. is reactive and is about progress, so destroying things is too far out of its reach. It can already deal with any permanent, if it so chooses, with bounce -> counterspell, which more feels like the "tricky" side of to me. As it is, this card seems like a card with a name and effect. Fleur {Mirror Paralysis}Oh hey this is neat. The flavour is 10/10 and the Clone + Pacifism work great together, though I can't help wondering if you'd rather just play any control magic effect most of the time. It's fun that, unlike a control aura, you keep the copy if the aura gets knocked off, and even if the clone dies, it can still pacify the the original if they have multiples out.
{and the winner of britain's got talent 2018 is}HvT - Mizzium Malfunction, with Yoshi - Mirror Paralysis as a superclose runner up. Thanks for ur participation everybody :>

Not bad for misreading the challenging and making something new on the fly.
Next multicolor challenge: a nonlegendary creature with some unique tribal support.

Sorry for the delay, I was much busier than anticipated. For that reason I won't have time to give ample feedback, if you would like in depth critique on your enter just PM me and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
First: Casstastrophe, for being able to flavor-ably support multiple tribes and making a good pun doing so.
Second: nhoj2307, for making me want to build a vampire mill deck.

Thanks for the win - next challenge: Make one of those multicolor uncommon Limited anchors that Wizards has been putting in all their sets lately! For those who aren't clear, these are the uncommons that are the center of a set's Limited archetypes. Each is usually 2 colors, and shows off the strategy, and provides either a very useful piece or a win condition. Some recent examples: Adeliz, the Cinder Wind, or Baloth Null, or Hidden Stockpile.

Feel free to use your own mechanics, because the card is supposed to show off an archetype in a set, but remember that this is the Golden Game - all submissions have to be multicolored!

Cloudteller Aven Creature — Bird Soldier Flying At the beginning of each end step, if you gained life this turn, you may pay 1. If you do, draw a card. Laethyr aven believe that clouds are the sky trails of long-lost sphinxes, and that they still contain traces of ancient wisdom, given the proper method of extraction.2/2 Is there no common name for uncommons like these? I heard the phrase "arcun" / "archetype uncommon" used a fair bit on the old boards, then was surprised when it doesn't seem to exist outside of MSE.
