Did you really intend to write "enchantment cards" in the black and red modes or is that a copypaste typo? By the way a bit unusual to have before Apocavore Creature - Lhurgoyf Demon Necrotivore's power is equal to the number of cards in all graveyards, and its toughness is equal to that number plus 1. */1+* What's the card's name? changed it from a beta name.

Le Goyf Creature - Le Lhurgoyf ~'s power and toughness are each equal to the combined number of unnecessary letters in the names and flavor texts of cards in all graveyards "Sacrebleu! François, cours! C'est le Lhureuggeauiffeu!" - Marie Dupont, last words */*

Going to have to judge this a bit quickly. gamma3 An enchantment creature that rewards people playing instants and sorceries - I feel like this is a bit of nonbo design in that regard and that maybe including Enchantment on the typeline actually hurts this entry a bit as it draws away from the type this goyf is supposed to specialize in. I like the use of the Illusion drawback to balance out the fact this type of card would normally check your graveyard only - it could be a good delver-like beatstick in spellslinger decks. Would like to play it. viriss Unfortunate that it fights to be in the same 4-mana slot as Inverter of Truth, though I suppose there is something you could do with this and Divining Witch seeing as it is an Eldrazi and thus can be rushed out via Eldrazi Temple. A fairly straightforward mashup of effects that seems to work well enough. Slight typo (cards not card), btw dangerousdice - I can't, but I would appreciate an explanation, for what it's worth. It feels like there's a lot going on here though I do like that the sacrifice fuels the back half. Not sure why it is specifically an enchantment though I guess this is the right colors for enchantress strategies. Nonagon Infinity - The Atogatog route, huh. I like that you made it reference a previous goyf cycle and that it can actively change its P/T to reflect the best situation. Seems like a Commander a lot of people would enjoy. foureyesisafish - I'm not sure if being very similar to Lord of Extinction was intentional or not. The monocolor identity does at least give it a chance to be used in MonoB commander decks. I would've liked a line of flavortext or a writeup to give this some more depth. Flo00 - I like that while the effects in question have existed before you use them in a way that feels fresh and the shapeshifter flavor makes me willing to believe it would work in . hydraheadhunter - Interesting way to promote Infect midrange and political Infect strategies. I appreciate that you didn't use the graveyard and went for something else. eshix - Wasn't expecting a silver-border entry, but this one is pretty funny. I think the main strike I have against this card is that unnecessary letters might cause a lot of arguments and be hard to count. (From one perspective, cards generally don't care much for names at all, so all letters in the name are not necessary, but from a player that plays cards that names cards, all the letters in the name are necessary.) I think this needs a bit of tweaking before it becomes the ideal party game card it was meant to be - maybe something like unnecessary words in flavor text, or even just counting only cards with flavortext instead. Great spirit, just a little rough around the edges. Jartis - I like that this fuels itself. Could be particularly fun with eggs decks if they needed and altenrate a wincon (and assuming they're still allowed to exist in any format out there). Feels like with the right cards it could also make for some interesting self-mill strategy. A fairly straightforward entry. 1st: hydraheadhunter 2nd: eshix 3rd: Flo00

This is actually a reference to the fact that with a Magic time machine, MaRo would go back and make enchantment creatures a thing like artifact creatures, and that Illusions would tend towards being enchantment creatures like constructs are generally artifact creatures

Carcinisation - There is a tendency of species on earth to for convergent evolution towards crab-like features; but we've yet to see this play out in MTG Card design (outside the simic guide). Make a card that pairs crab with a creature type it's never been paired with before. Bonus points if your crab-hybrid is not also a simic hybrid.
Inelligible types: Beast, Crocodile, Eldrazi, Elf, Fish, Leviathan, Octopus, Shark, Turtle, Warrior.

Thanks for the win! A simple challenge this time; design a creature using the new Phyrexian subtype. It doesn't have to be an unused combination, just anything Phyrexian!

Helionex, Compleated Sun Two phyrexian generic and two white. Legendary Artifact Enchantment Creature - Phyrexian God Indestructible, Infect As long as your opponents have fewer than five infect counters between them, Helionex is not a creature. Creatures you control have vigilence. A generic and two phyrexian white: create a 1/1 white phyrexian soldier artifact enchantment creature token with infect. 5/5
There was speculation back when Theros beyond death dropped, that the spear Elspeth created from her underworld nightmares was dripping phyrexian oil which could infect Theros and keep that storyline alive if Karn actually managed to make the big bomb go boom on new phyrexia. The joke at the time being how absolutely massive the typeline for a phyrexian theros would get.

{ Nonagon Infinity}A simple yet powerful ability. Might want it just a bit beefier, even with Affinity for Artifacts, but overall seems playable. Sidenote but I love the render. { dangerousdice }That incarnate ability is pretty interesting. I assume that it would deal infect damage even if it stays an instant, like how spells can have lifelink. I also like it as a way to essentially have creatures with Flash without having to explicitly state that. { hydraheadhunter }I do love the idea of a Phyrexian God, and the restriction on not being a creature based on how many Infect counters are out. As much as the typeline is (intentionally) insane, on something a bit less so, it's actually a great concept. I like the use of Phyrexian colorless to keep the white mana "pure," from a lore standpoint, I like the token generation. There's a lot going on here, but it doesn't feel overwhelming or just shoved together. { viriss }Ah, good ol' Pests...both of them (tokens not included). I do appreciate the use of underutilized creature types, the return of Phyrexian mana (I still love it, even if it is a bit strong), and the built-in Mutagenic Growth. I even appreciate "holding back" and going with Deathtouch in place of Infect. {Winner}This was actually very close, and while judging I had considered giving each of these designs first place. Unfortunately there can only be one actual winner, and I am going to give the win to hydraheadhunter . Honestly, though, great job to all of you.

Thank you. I was worried that basically redoing the original Heliod with phyrexian infect and phyrexian mana might be uninventive, so I'm happy for the win.
Horrible and Dreadful – We've had some truely horrific creatures in the past, a lot of them zombies, nightmares, eldrazi, or just horrorifying. But the most interesting ones are the unique horrifying twists to the more mundane races and species: so, let's further diversify our dread. Create a new breed of horror by pairing it with race or species that it's never before been paired with before. Bonus points for non-black creatures and/or creatures not from Innistrad.
Ineligible types: angel, beast, boar, bird, cat, centaur, dauthi, devil, dryad, eldrazi, elemental, elf, frog, fungus, gargoyle, hellion, human, hydra, insect, kraken, leviathan, lizard, nightmare, rat, slug, spirit, squid, treefolk, werewolf, wolf, wurm, vampire, zombie

{Judging} Jartis | | Monstrous Ettercap Two Generic and a Green Creature - Spider Horror
Whenever a creature blocks Monstrous Ettercap, tap that creature. 2/3
Art: A very spooky spider, by Hector Elias | A very spooky creature to match the prompt.
It'd play really nice with extra combat shenanagains, but it'll need a lot of set up for its ability to be relevant.
With such a simple ability, there's a lot of room in the text box for flavor text that I think you missed the opprotunity to include some lore. | viriss | | Corrupted Toy Two generic and a black Artifact Creature - Horror Construct
Whenever another creature you control dies, you may pay 1 life. If you do, put a +1/+1 counter on Corrupted Toy
Remove a +1/+1 counter from Corrupted Toy: Corrupted Toy gains indestructable until end of turn.
FT: Be my friend.
1/1
Art: A bloody and battered stuffed bunny, by Flavio Greco Paglia | A great iteration on the cursed toy concept seen in cards like stuffy doll and creepy doll.
| Nonagon Infinity | | Silvershriek Drake A generic, a white, and a blue Creature - Drake Horror
Flying When Silvershriek Drake enters the battlefield, you may return a creature you control to its owner's hand
3/3
Art: A horrific drake by S88ART | A lovely card with some good art. | ameisenmeister | | Disfigured Unicorn A black and a green Creature - Unicorn Horror
A generic and a black: Disfigured Unicorn gains Deathtouch until end of turn.
Three generic and a green: All creatures able to block Disfigured Unicorn this turn do so.
FT: Although buried under a horrific apperance, it still hasn't lost its charisma
2/2
Art: A spooky unicorn by Akreon at deviantart | Amazing use of the unicorn's basic traits twisted into something horrible.
A pretty strong card if you can afford the six mana. |
{winner}I'm gonna give it to ameisenmeister 's Disfigured Unicorn. He took the basic traits of something beautiful and twisted it into a horrify vestage.

Sethy, Rat Monarch Legendary Creature - Rat Monarch At the beginning of each end step, surveil X, where X is the number of cards discarded by all players this turn. Whenever a card leaves a graveyard, each opponent loses 1 life. 1/2 As a real card, this would probably be worded a bit longer to avoid unnecessary triggers in MTGO/Arena. I decided for the classic way with the cleaner text bot. Full modern-style text: At the beginning of each end step, if a player discarded one or more cards this turn, surveil X, where X is the number of cards discarded by all players this turn. (To surveil X, look at the top X cards of your library, then put any number of them into your graveyard and the rest on top of your library in any order.)Whenever one or more cards leave graveyards, each opponent loses that much life.
