Ah, one of my favorite cards of all time. Perversed Firebrand Creature - Imp Sacrifice Perversed Firebrand: Players can't gain life until end of turn. A connoisseur of pleasures and pains in equal measure.

Judging is up. { inferno390 }No PT here but I'm assuming it's sitting at 1/1. Ability-wise, I feel like it's a little narrow at so I'd probably at least add a 'damage can't be prevented' clause. If you're feeling particularly ambitious, you could maybe even tack on an additional damage to the opponent as a homage to Flames of the Blood Hand and Skullcrack. { thaneofglamis }No points for guessing which spell is being applied here A nice spin on Selfless Savior, that fits very well in the MH1 flicker archetype. { odivesco }-2/-1 is a bit of an odd stat penalty. While attaching Disfigure to a body for the symmetrical -2/-2 maybe a little too pushed, I think you could possibly increase the power debuff to -3. Just like the frog's fog, Wring Flesh is much less impactful when your opponents can plan their combats around it. {@jamesbrafin }I'm a little wary of dropping a cheap Lazotep Plating down to common. While there is some element of surprise lost when committing this to the board, with such an insignificant body, the ability to delay removal is just as effective as outright negating it. { viriss }Love the design, has great combat utility both offensively and defensively as a Giant Growth that can tie down an additional attacker and occasionally blocker. However, I will need to dock some points as its status as a green common does exclude it from both horizontal and vertical cycles of the frog. { Flo00 }I'd say that fog and twiddle are on the same par in power level. Combined with some excellent flavour text, this makes for a nice clean addition to the frog's cycle. {Podium}Winner: thaneofglamis Runner Up: Flo00

I always forget the P/T. Scuttling Nightmare Creature -- Horror Menace When Scuttling Nightmare enters the battlefield, target opponent discards three cards. When Scuttling Nightmare dies, each opponent sacrifices a creature. 7/7 Wanted to keep the card uncommon to match the original printing.

I will point out that there is a subtle difference between putting something into the graveyard from the battlefield and leaving the battlefield, the latter of which is a small but significant power boost. Definitely something to consider considering the original text.

@jamesbrafin - Beyeen Kraken
Drawing seven cards is significantly stronger than gaining seven life for the same cost. Adding on hexproof makes this an incredibly powerful threat, and the death trigger is insignificant compared to its other abilities. I'd say it should mill on entry and draw a card on death. I do like the name referencing another location on Zendikar.
I think discarding three on top of such a large creature might be a little too much for the cost, but I like the card overall.
If I had entered the contest, I would have also implied a cycle of creatures that draw you a card on death. I like the first effect, but it's a little less clear that's it's part of the same cycle since it's a much smaller creature. melono - Pelakka SpiderI'm not sure what the cycle is here. It's not a horizontal cycle, since the wurm and spider are both green, and it's not a vertical cycle since they're both uncommon. I'm not entirely sure if it fits the bounds of the contest. The mechanics work well enough, but it seems like the etb is a little weak without flash. viriss - Pelakka GreatwurmA very nice rare upgrade of Pelakka Wurm with a flashy first ability and a sizeable body that even refunds you plus one when it dies. A rare bomb for sure - I'm sure it can win Limited games on the spot. Very cool art, too. Winner is viriss, with inferno390 in second!

A young Elder Gargaroth! I figured that it can have an extra point of power, considering it lacks the very relevant keyword flying and is green and whatnot. The card looks really busted to me but I guess it's just because how busted Vampire Nighthawk is.
