test Seska listened, her stomach turning from how sour Lettie's rambling was turning. True, she was right, the multiverse wasn't a peaceful place by and large, but the alchemist seemed so...she didn't even have a word for it. What was worse, however, was when she mentioned her view on sparking, of one being flung into the multiverse by pure suffering and despair. She stood up, her feline companion opening an eye, but otherwise not moving from its perch. Yet it somehow all paled in comparison to that final statement. That it wasn't worth it to go anywhere if it wasn't peaceful like home. The...indignity of the statement. "I don't wish to speak with you anymore," Seska stated, clearing holding her tone back as she turned around and stepped away, the feline beast that had followed her seeming to tense as it stood up and followed Seska down the hill. It seemed Lettie had gotten something across after all. {Spoiler}{Response Card - Bloodbauble Witch} Bitter Revelation: Sure. 8/10. This is a neat version of white's Divine Reckoning, and it's replacing creatures with Faerie's is a good drawback.

"Good evening. It's somewhat late, but it's not as though I'm lacking in energy." She speaks in a mildly tired monotone, and seems to pause a moment, before adopting a more varied voice. "That is to say, I'm ready. I've been looking forward to this." She indicates one of the wooden spears. "Is one of those for me?"Scythe Acacia Creature — Plant Creatures blocking or blocked by Scythe Acacia have first strike. 3/3 Fencing Instructor — It seems good, but with cards like Exemplar in mind, it's nowhere near the best, but that's no reason to penalize. The thing that I think brings this down a bit is that the tokens aren't particularly useful except on block, whereas this card prefers to attack, which means it doesn't get to contribute until it gets a few swings in, which might not work on a particularly cluttered board. 9/10

A curtain of salt drifts to the floor from a windowsill, and the bottles rattle. At first Lettie is annoyed that she'll have to replace the salt while hungover, but then her blood boils when she hears Briar. This is intentional. She's toying with me. I'm going kill her, court be damned. I swear on this name that I will kill her just as I did her lackey. There's no time to grab a utility belt, but the iron sickle is closer on hand this time, and Lettie could always use her own material self if things get to that point. She's about to head outside, but the way is blocked by Ragnall's giant head; he sees a woman quickly cross her arms in a gesture of futile nonchalance, the blade of the sickle in her hand turned inwards. "Yes, I'm Rose. I was just about to head out to gather ingredients." She looks terrible, with her reddened eyes and tangled hair threatening to slip free of a kerchief. "I can spare some time. What do you need?" She's not looking at Ragnall; Instead, she looks around him and to her sides, aiming to spot Briar. Cruel Mercy Sorcery Target creature's controller sacrifices all other creatures. There is rustling and snickering in Lettie's house as the faerie skulks around. A not-Briar faerie suddenly flies into view, followed by a pair of faeries outside firing bolts into the back of the giant's head... Harmful Distraction Instant Tap target creature. Its controller loses 3 life.

As Lettie speaks, Ragnall's expression slowly calms down, and then when Lettie finishes Ragnall's eyes flicker the same blue followed by a slight flinch, then he says, "I am a practitioner of an ancient magic of my people called Seiðr. It allows me to see someone's 'aura'. It is the reflection of someone's inner self. I was going to use it to try to locate Briar by her aura but your aura is borderline overwhelming to my senses... No one can decide how they are born but as long as you aren't a danger to other people; I am not one to judge."

Its controller loses 3 life. "I am not one to judge." The hell you're not. Everyone's a judge. Lettie's ear twitches when she hears the snickering, and Ragnall might realize that she had glanced past his shoulder before kicking the door closed and diving away from it. As she moves, the veil between realities briefly exhales an acrid pitch black smoke, the same foul sort that Ragnall had seen in his spell. Where she falls beneath a window, the smoke continues to spread from her in the enclosed space, and Lettie begins trying to gather a handful of salt, while looking through her alarms to see if she can catch any glances of Briar before all vision is obscured.Briar had trouble moving through a few of alchemical fumes, so let's see how she handles this cursed miasma.Lettie adopts a tone that's sickly sweet. "What a lovely guest, Briar. You have such a discerning eye. Where did you find him, dear?" Iron-willed Shifter — While it's a clever cross of the two to form firebreathing, it takes a lot of investment to be useful in a turn, and is somewhat inefficient. 8/10Harmful Distraction — Distractingly weak, even if it does encapsulate a classic of WB, disabling creatures while progressing the game to its end. 7/10

test Scythe Acacia: Neat. I really like these kinds of effects. 9/10. Hilda nods, grabbing the spear head and extending the hilt out to her. "I've been looking forward to this myself, for my own reasons." she says, opening the door back outside and holding it open for Lettie. "I chose a spear for a few reasons. I know most weapons by heart, but the spear has a special place. And plus, I figure that you want to be as far away from people as possible, and long range weapons provide the most range, obviously. They also don't require a style or vigorous training for basic usage." she says, walking with her out the door when she's ready. Something seems to switch, and Hilda stands up straighter, her voice becoming a bit more strict. "Now, this may require you to be a bit uncomfortable. I won't touch you, but I will have to get close to observe and comment, and perhaps spar if you're up to it. But first, stance." she says, approaching Lettie. "Stand firmly and point the spear outward, and try to grip it around the middle so it remains balanced and straight." she says, beginning the instruction, a bit of distance between them.Peasant Militia Leader Creature - Human Soldier Other Humans you control get +1/+1. , : Create two 1/1 white Human creature tokens. 3/3

There's an odd look of distaste, however, when Hilda takes upon a strict tone, but Lettie discards it with the reassurance that she won't be touched. "It's no great matter, I'm never comfortable. With no contact, there should be no greater problems." Lettie first follows the initial instructions in a somewhat literal sense, first standing straight and putting one foot back to brace, leveling the spear outward, and then adjusting her grip about the center until her hands feel a somewhat natural distance apart. Still, she feels weak. Someone could grab her spear and it would be enough to pull her off her feet. "This is not yet correct. What must I do, now?" Dusk Watcher Creature — Human Scout , Sacrifice Dusk Watcher: Target creature gains hexproof and indestructible until end of turn. 2/1 Someone's got to look out for the leader. test Dusk Watcher: Reminds me of Sylvan Safekeeper but less goofy (bad memories of a Yisan, the Wanderer Bard EDH). Still pretty good though. Also reminiscent of Spore Frog a bit? Much less invincibility cheese I think though. I gotta stop comparing things to Spore Frog. 9/10. Hilda looks her up and down. The stance is a bit weak. "It's a good start. Part of it is raw strength as well, which you don't have much of. Yet, anyway." Hilda says. Her hand reaches toward her before she stops herself, still used to more physical instruction. "A-anyway..." Hilda instructs as necessary, being in her teaching mode most of the time. Not strict, but not as smiley either. Either way, provided no interruptions (or other meaningful conversation during training), the training continues for about an hour, mostly focusing on the basics of stance and grip. As the training goes on, Lettie may notice that Hilda's eyes are on her very frequently, staring intently. Though this being her method of instructing or something else is hard to tell.Blackbeak Mentor Creature - Human Warrior Whenever ~ enters the battlefield or attacks, choose one: - Put a +1/+1 counter on another Human you control. - Each opponent loses 1 life and you gain 1 life. Lettie doesn't seem bothered by any lack of smiles; with no overbearing strictness, even though she never seems comfortable, Lettie eventually reaches a state of placid focus. Following Hilda's question, Lettie stares at her for a few moments as though she's forgotten how to speak. "I... am un-...sure..." With a slight shake of her head, she attempts to return to the demeanor she typically presents to customers. "Certainly, it must seem strange that I don't know whether or not I enjoy something. It isn't what I'm thinking about... right now." She continues, her prosody becoming particularly odd and stilted. "It seems... your typical teaching method is... to physically correct behavior. I am... familiar with that approach... and I appreciate that you adjusted it for me." Lettie is watching Hilda's face, but not making eye contact, her stare becoming intense by the moment. "You are an unusual sort. Very accommodating... and understanding. Ostensibly, this is free as well." Her face lapses into a grimace, but one of confusion, lacking any contempt. Her voice is quiet. "There's no such thing. Why are you doing this? Because you have nothing better to do? Do you want goodwill? Is it that I'm such a bewitching and helpful apothecary?" test Looking-Glass Simulacrum: Wild. I think this also does away with the legendary rule unless legendary creatures suddenly all become named the same (does the empty string count as a name that's shared?). Either way, I think this could be a 5/5? While massively hindering tribal decks I think it's generally an effect that can be ignored in a large share of matchups. Depends on the set though too, if it's a tribal thing going on a 4/4 is right I think. Super like that ft too. Even though I see a couple potential issues, I super like it. 10/10. You may exile it. Whenever you cast an artifact or enchantment spell, you may put a card exiled by Eternity Architect into your hand. 1/3 One of Lettie's alarms hears the knock, and she appears within the shop to investigate. If either volarian glances through the window by the door, they might see Lettie give Haia the evil eye before vanishing for another minute.
She retreats to one of her storage cabinets in her home to locate a tiny vial, cast from bright blue glass, and isolated from all other containers. She picks it out, checks that it is sealed, and is about to stuff it in her apron when she imagines actually drinking from it. She had survived so much over the past year. She had to see Pidge at the next weekly delivery, and Hilda still had more to teach. What about the cats? What about the endless abyss and the void between stars?
The notion could scarcely be considered, but Lettie would not become a prisoner. She slips the vial into her apron, and returns to her door, which she opens only slightly, so that the petitioners only see one bloodshot eye glaring at them through the gap. "Zeni. You're alive. Good." There's a harsh undercurrent to Lettie's monotone, and the leaves strewn about the grass outside begin to crackle and rapidly decompose. "Oh, um, I-I'm sorry Miss Lettie, I'm here because Miss Seiva, um..." Haia keeps her hands held close and her eyes dart back and forth between Lettie and Seiva.Seiva holds up a hand and Haia quiets down. She speaks slower and quieter than any other time Lettie had talked to her. She still spends a lot of time moving her hands. "I'm glad you're still doing... 'well', compared to how things could have been. So. I'm mostly recovered. I can walk around, mostly talk to people. But, my reactions are very slow and my aim is completely gone. I'm useless in a fight, and this place is too dangerous for that. I can't leave without a combat caster to protect me, and that leaves two other options. Unfortunately, Estova needs to stay at the outpost because he's our only core engineer, and Leira is already with Ani doing the same thing so he can do a bioaetheric analysis on a tree that is losing its leaves for reasons we're not entirely sure of. So that's why Haia's here. She's trained with defensive fields and barriers so that hopefully, if something happens, we can get out."A glance at her notebook reminds Seiva how she wanted to explain what her goal was. "I wanted to check on how everyone was doing after the incident. You know, try to establish an understanding of what happened to everyone after I fell. ... Try. Hannah's been impossible to interact with. Since finding out about what happened to Kaira, she hasn't talked to anyone but Karina. At all. She might interact with her mother too, but Arina's somewhere that isn't Entela right now. Mister Henry is nowhere to be seen. And, of course, Experiment Zero is either dead or long gone, and given that the planeswalkers she carries are apparently traceable... I'm assuming she survived."Seiva takes a long breath. Haia quietly says to her, "Mister Kirilo doesn't want you going on for that long, remember?" Seiva shakes her head to the thought. It's an egg, it's technically net mana, and it's probably fine. 8/10 Dulled Reflexes Enchantment - Aura Flash, enchant creature When Dulled Reflexes enters the battlefield, tap enchanted creature. Had Lettie been seeing through her own eyes, the divebombing faerie would have had a perfect blind angle. However, cycling through her alarms, she sees herself barely visible in the smoke, and the faerie nearby. Lettie snaps back to her own senses so that she can toss the fistful of salt at the faerie, before seeking to dispatch it with a swing of her sickle. She notes that it's an attempt to stall her veil's formation, and she sees another faerie, which means it sees her as well. Lettie dives behind a counter to buy more time for the smoke to fill the room. She sets down her sickle so that she can use both of her hands for the potions throughout her shop.

Effectively works as a P/T clone with a tempo hit, potentially wastes removal, is neutral on cards, and compares nicely to effects like Life's Legacy. 10/10

Enchanted creature gets -2/-0. While Seiva glances at her notebook, Lettie snidely mutters, "The reason would be that it's Autumn, obviously... unless the tree's a conifer, which would then be strange."
Lettie knows that she's done wrong, but she had made her greatest mistake before Seiva had fallen. Speaking of what came after shouldn't be a problem. "After that... galvanism had struck you, Kaira fired upon Zero, and Zero retaliated. Kaira set two aethertechnology traps, and Zero easily survived the first detonation. Zero had murdered Kaira before the second had been set off, and I retreated once I realized what was about to happen." Lettie briefly thinks of Karina, who had come calling for information on Zero. "There was little I could do, and following my retreat, all thereafter concerning me is of no relevance to your... understanding," Lettie lies.Hostile Reversion Instant Remove all counters from all creatures, and exile all permanents attached to creatures. Her notes continue as Lettie recounts the battle, saying single words that seem relevant to her. "Aethertechnology." "Survived." "Before." "That explains the accounts of two explosions, one of which that collapsed the house. Thanks, I think I get what she did."Seiva looks back at her notes, remembers the confusing word from before, and asks, "Before I leave you, could you please, uh... describe what you mean by 'Autumn'? Suddenly, though, all the trees are doing it, and it's noticeably colder than when we got here."Wiping out all auras and equipment might be the best use of this card, but getting the counters out of there too helps. The faerie shrieks at the salt, before the sound is cut short by the sickle. The other faerie fires its tiny ballista, then flies up to evade a possible counterattack. A twig begins growing in one of the faerie's hands, a soon-to-be ballista bolt for a second attack.
Flowering Reload Instant Untap all creatures you control. They get +1/+1 until end of turn. Rotting Miasma - mini massacre wurm. would prob set that at BB? but 2B also solid. 9/10

"The wastelands do you mean to imply that you don't know what seasons are? Is this some kind of ill-conceived joke? Are your 'humours' out of odds? She points at the sky, and lowers her hand as she speaks. "That means that for the next few months, you'll see the sun arcing closer to the horizon, and the days will be shorter. Which means less sunlight, lower temperatures, and 'seasonal' behavior in plants, such as deciduous trees discarding their leaves. She can feel her heart beating through her ribs, and in her jaw. She shouldn't be standing here. "Shall I next demonstrate how you ought to lace your boots? Maybe with enough instruction, we'll be able to move to contemporary issues, such as this arena's fae infestation, or the oncoming Phyrexian plague, or the next murderous machine that might harm your organization, this time to use your portals. She simply replies with a shrug as she takes notes. "What you're describing isn't a phenomenon that happens on Volaria. We can generally expect the same weather and temperature all year, which is vital to Entelan navigation systems functioning. I guess it must be common to other planes, though, if it's that obvious to you. test While tending to one of her shops, Lettie notices an unusual squirrel. Black oil is caught in its fur, and it's hard to tell whether the oil is oozing out of it or seeping into it. It could be both. Oozing Rodent Creature - Squirrel 1/1 Lettie feels her veins turn to ice. Propagating black oil. Phyresis. I eliminated both infection points... but the Phyrexian's leg had been severed, so it may have leaked more oil, regardless its intentions. A trail of oil means I'll be able to track down the Phyrexian, but now a plague is unavoidable. This is my...Fury awakens within Lettie, and she directs the plants near the squirrel to grapple it, while she fetches a bottled cloud of brimstone. She intends to see the effects of alkylation on glistening oil, and to at least put the squirrel out of its misery... in the long term anyway.
//Brimstone clouds are basically magical mustard gas. They're an unpleasant way to go. Cloudkill Instant Distribute X -1/-1 counters among any number of target creatures. We'll have time to deal with such a small creature, eventually. Oozing Rodent — Considering that Memnites exist, this really isn't much of a statement. 6/10

She feels the bolt with one hand, fearing it to be infused with deadly magic or poison, but finds neither. Confused, but still worried, she glares at the faerie, and can't help but let out a cackle when she sees it conjuring a twig. The quaint little creature had thought to evade her, but it had only drawn closer to Lettie's ceiling. Pointing an accusation with a finger, she commands a rafter to become thorned ivy, and crush the faerie in its grip. Regardless of whether that succeeds, she makes her way to Briar's last known location, using her tables as support. Dream's End Sorcery Each creature's power becomes equal to its base power minus and its toughness equal to its base toughness minus two until end of turn. Flowering Reload — This slightly pushes the boundaries of this effect developmentally, but honestly, that's a boundary that ought to be pushed. Always glad to see good common hybrid too. 9/10

It's one of those cards that seems weak at low values of X but good at high values of X, which I'm not a huge fan of. The squirrel screeches upon being caught, and tries to wriggle its way free as Lettie approaches with the bottle. Upon making contact with the cloud, the squirrel screeches louder, but differently. This screech is slightly deeper, as the oil visibly reacts. It moves in a blob separately from the squirrel, as if the squirrel were trapping it as much as the stems and grasses were. After a few seconds, it latches onto the plants gripping its former host, though it does not reach out of the cloud before beginning to drip to the ground, where it remains inanimate. It wouldn't take too much effort to track where the squirrel came from, should Lettie be interested in the non-immediate threat. Weak Point Observer
