"Negative. Purpose of gathering is analysis and ascertainment of boundaries. Hypothesis: Data to be used for synthesis."
Deathly Dynamo Artifact When ~ enters the battlefield, draw a card. Exile five cards from your graveyard: Add . Screeching Bowl - A neat little card which I could see being used in any number of situations. Well costed and with an appropriate rarity. 10/10.
Now she scowls. "What boundaries? Mine? I don't give out information for free. Either pay up or scram... or I can show you what I can do with green mana."Bitter Witness Creature — Faerie If a card would be put into an opponent's graveyard from anywhere, instead that card is revealed and put on the bottom of that player's library, and that player loses 1 life. "No fire and brimstone compares to the eternal torment of our endless mistrials upon this wretched world."1/3 Deathly Dynamo — Effectively slow cycling for multiple copies of this drawn, good. It leaves little for the ability's efficiency, but it looks like a fair rate, and can't loop. Not certain about rarity, but not so uncertain to penalize for that. 10/10

At the appearance of the hologram, the apothecary slams her hand onto the counter, from which sprout flowering vines that seek to wrap around the robot. Regardless of whether or not they succeed, she only then takes a second to register what she has been told and shown. "Boundaries of ne- ...I see. You would need to compare possible new uses of mana against existing ones. Well, take these vines for example. I can use green mana to transmute materials into more useful forms, and communicate with those forms, see things from their perspective... but since you didn't seem to be paying attention, I will remind you that I don't go into the finer details of what I do for free. My magic is a reflection of a greater truth: nothing is free. So now that you haven't fled, your choices are to either compensate me and hear the rest, or get turned to mulch and have that be the end of it. Decide how you'll be useful to me."Erased Trail Sorcery Search target player's library for up to four cards, exile them, then that player shuffles their library. Put up to one basic land card exiled this way onto the battlefield tapped under your control. I'd be tempted to do a tuck or fateseal-esque effect, but the fact that you can swap at instant speed makes that insufficient. Better just handle the root cause when I see you holding up something. Difference Engine — This, as far as I can tell, is the first card that lets you look at your bottom card. I don't like the idea, even just on a dexterity level. However, I think this is an excellent way of doing persistent hidden storage, and it's far more elegant than a name-shared exile face down. It does, however, require a somewhat blind switch, though you can pay again to swap back, and the implied limit on value through activations is also nice design. 9/10

The robot quavers slightly in fright. "Apologies. Contact established with host. Gratitude registered for services rendered." It dissolves into a fine mist of sparks, and leaves behind a note scorched into the ground.
"Base Zero invites you to participate in the New Age."
Erased Trail - A powerful effect in colours that normally don't get them if I remember correctly. The upside hurts it more, even as a rare. 6/10.

@notdeadalus Going to argue a bit here. The card's a cross between Rampant Growth and Sadistic Sacrament, which are each from the disjoint sections of the colours involved.

"I've not a complete idea, but I have some food, and it looks like you need some. Stay here." Lettie vanishes behind a counter, quickly grabs a loaf of bread from her home, and reappears from where she left off about half a minute later. She straightens up, holding out the loaf in offering. She waits until a moment has passed, either to make sure of the woman's refusal, or if she accepts, allow her time for a few bites. "That black thing that was... with you, it nearly killed you. You're practically a skeleton, no doubt from it feeding off you, and moments ago, it had to detach from you after it drank a lethal dose of one of my potions, because you two were so hungry. You shouldn't seek it again. Nothing will have changed if you do. Death is horrifying, especially that by starvation."Witch's Invitation Artifact When Witch's Invitation enters the battlefield, you may put a -1/-1 counter on target creature. , : Tap target creature with a -1/-1 counter on it. The girl eats the food, avidly, listening to Lettie. "I see..." She shrugs her shoulders and finishes the bread. "Thank you... for your help. And for the food. But I have to find it... I need answers." The girl takes out some coins from her pockets. "This is all I have, I hope it enough..." She leaves shortly afterwards.Witch's Invitation: I'm not really sure about this. I kinda like it, but it probably isn't worth playing anywhere. Nice synergy, tho. 7/10

If you do, draw a card. 1/2 The apothecary takes a good look at the customer, and her eyes noticeably linger on the arm stump. "Good morning. Most combatants can benefit from potions for regeneration and healing. Some can benefit from enhanced senses, strength, or similar. I carry all of the above. Depending on whether you're looking to fight fair or not, I can also provide you with poisons, and if your fight is to be a conflict in a greater and honorless context, I have a handful of decisive weapons."Shrieking Sluagh Creature — Faerie Flying At the beginning of each opponent’s upkeep, if that player has one or fewer cards in hand, put a +1/+1 counter on Shrieking Sluagh. 1/1 Curious Customer — Dangerous Wager tells me that this can be lower rarity, probably uncommon given that it could be seen as an archetype reward. Otherwise, it's nice to have value that persists between wheels. 8/10

You gain 3 life. "One sip for everybody - we'll need as many as possible ready." -- Hilda, warrior commander The apothecary starts meandering behind the counter, bringing up a vial of each product as she explains its applications. "Endurance is a bit of broad term. If you speak of resisting enervation and fatigue of the nerves in general, everwake would be sufficient. If you refer to your ability to continuously exert strength in a relatively short period of time, I have a potion aptly named 'endurance', which restores the materials necessary for such exertions. Finally, if you speak of your ability to endure relatively superficial wounds, you could take a regeneration potion, which speeds the rate of natural healing and again provides the necessary materials. I don't recommend taking more than one kind at once though, as they might interact with one another in unpredictable ways." She grimaces. "That's the downside of being able to efficiently bottle magic, I suppose. The spell is already cast, and doesn't know what any other spell is doing." Bitter Touch Instant Target creature gains wither until end of turn. Draw a card. Lettie Wormwood has unlocked Wither. Swallow Potion — Exactly on rate, except maybe the planeswalker option, but given how inconvenient raising the cost is on reactive protection, it's probably the thing that would draw someone to playing this in the first place. Of course, it doesn't stop the walker from dying to counter loss, which means you'd only use this against burn and planeswalker removal. 8/10

A window is open, and some rather strong smelling fumes are spilling out. Looks like the owner wanted to air the place out while keeping some brewing potions on the windowsill. They don't seem to be present at the moment, but a stuffed alligator on a nearby shelf appears to be keeping watch. Briar can easily get in, and nothing will happen to her if she does so... not immediately, anyway.Stables Brownie Creature — Faerie Whenever Stables Brownie deals combat damage to a player, you may untap target land. 1/1 Assisting offense. Also, Brownies shouldn't be ouphes, don't @ me.
Dirty Tricks — Seems to be costed correctly, and I'm a fan of the spectacle approach to alternate costs. 10/10

Somebody doesn't want me in there, she thought, which makes me want in even more! She flew around the area for a few minutes, finding some flowers and plucking them. With her face full of good smells, she charged through the foul ones as fast as she could.
She freezes for a split second at the sight of any cats in the shop, then flies up higher to be out of their immediate reach. She flits around the shop, looking for some shiny trinket or bauble she can swipe. If she finds something, she'll take it and leave the flowers behind, a fair trade in her book.
Gain control of target creature or enchantment with converted mana cost 3 or less. You lose 3 life. The humans hated most fae holidays, but none as much as The Great Taking Day.

There is a single cat, and it leaps up onto the counter by the windowsill shortly after Briar flits by. It yowls after her, though it doesn't seem to be a threat. The shop is filled with a number of tools, including a sickle that's larger than Briar herself. The coins are of acceptable size, and are of varying shines, though they're stuffed away in a closed cabinet that takes some pulling to open. "You little rascal!" a woman's voice exclaims, not quite shouting. A woman wearing a blood-red kerchief with a black and green dress has appeared by the window, seemingly out of once thin air, now thick with foul vapors just like those that were spilling into the street earlier. The cat yowls as she picks it up and away from the potions, and she turns around to set it down. "Come on, I thought you were one of the smarter ones. You know you shouldn't go near-" She freezes at the sight of the open cabinet and the Fae. Her scowl fades, and, like donning a new mask, she adopts a pleasant smile that all the same doesn't reach her bloodshot eyes, and she recalls one of her lines for such an occasion. "Welcome, my dear guest. Please, excuse my cat. So long as we're speaking, may I have your name?"Crossroads Snitch Creature — Faerie Flying At the beginning of your upkeep, reveal the top card of your library and put that card into your hand. You lose life equal to its converted mana cost. Then, target opponent gains control of Crossroads Snitch. 1/1 Go on, take it. Life is a resource. This Is Mine — This is black space, albeit barely. Usually it's something that vampires have done. Anyway, I don't think this is an appropriate cost, even with the life loss. Remember that not only are you removing the card, but you are getting it as well, and this is very rarely dead. Compare to an effect like Connive. 7/10

Lettie notes the pair of coins, and the fact that the fae is using plural first person. The coins are little more than a pittance compared to what she might lose picking a fight with a fae court, and with her methods, the cost is likely less than one of her combat potions, much less the cost of what she would have to consume in a proper battle. Best to just let it go this time. "My name is Rose," she lies through her teeth, "and please, don't feel any obligation to come calling here again." 'Rose' sets down her cat, and moves the potions away from the windowsill to clear away the fumes blocking the way out. Perhaps one day, as with Wormwood, so many people will call me Rose that I'll have to find yet another name to go by. She gestures to the window, to indicate the way is open. "Safe travels, Briar."Rosemary Reaper Creature — Faerie Cleric Wither If you discard Rosemary Reaper and you control a Swamp and a Forest, put it onto the battlefield instead of putting it into your graveyard. 3/2 Fae's Favor — Good clause with 'up to four', helps reduce the damage when you have no choice but to pitch a basic. I would have said the cost compared to something like Infinite Obliteration or Dispossess makes this questionable since it's a guaranteed hand hit, but your opponent can also choose the name. All in all, I think it's great. 10/10

As soon as Briar leaves, Lettie sets about lining as many of her windows as possible with salt, and she double checks that she has a loaf of bread in every shop, and then lastly she sets out as many spare wands of rowan as possible. She considers hammering iron nails into certain locations, but then notes that her iron sickle didn't do much to deter Briar. What she had so far would have to do. For good measure, she also burns the flowers that Briar had left in place of the coins.

The storefront door is unlocked, but the door to Lettie's home clearly isn't. It's not as clear that anyone has heard Karina, but she feels glimmers of recognition all about her, in presences within the taxidermied animals around the shop. They're watching her. Then she hears a clatter of hollow glass shattering nearby, and footsteps.
Lettie bolts upright from the floor as the alarms ring in her mind, and she accidentally kicks the crop of empty bottles she's grown over the course of her bender. She glances through her alarms, and sees the lovebird standing in her doorway. She considers planeswalking, but worries that the miasma of the blind eternities will be too much for her in this weakened state. Instead, she pulls herself upright by the post of her nearby bed, and staggers towards the storefront. She leans her head against the door as she's unlocking it, and notices a note that has been slid under. With a groan, she slowly kneels down and sees that it's from Pidge. That's impossible. Pidge only comes by on her weeklies nowadays and... oh Celestial Spheres, how many days has it been? She takes a moment to read it, then stuffs it in her apron before opening the door.
The apothecary has emerged, with an even worse case of fae-locks than before, and bloodshot eyes. She elects to stay out of the spear's reach, focusing her gaze on the hand that holds it, and quietly, she speaks, with intentionally blank expression. "Say piece... say your piece... child." It had been too long since last she spoke with a mask meant for humans. She silently curses herself, before allowing her anger to fade into the dull current of her inebriation, and grief. It barely distracts her from the brewing hatred towards the machine. "I'm... sorry meet... to meet you, like this." Though her speech slowly drawls, her prosody remains odd and stilted as ever. She's aware of it too, and the unease of being watched, and watching one's self, adds itself to the mixture.Anxiety Creature — Incarnation Each opponent's maximum hand size is reduced by one. As long as Anxiety is in your graveyard and you control a Swamp, each opponent's maximum hand size is reduced by the number of creatures you control. 2/2 Yeah, I don't know how OG incarnations were uncommon either. Inquire — Developmentally, countering a spell and drawing two cards are relatively close in expected value, but in terms of design, this is almost always going to an opponent letting you draw cards unless they're casting something of cmc 3 or lower, and part of the problem is that the counter side loses a lot of potential excess value since you're paying such a similar cost. 8/10

Guest System The smell hit her first. Hey girlie! It'd been a while since she'd dealt with this. You should smile more, you know! Then Lettie's wave of anxiety filled her. She should cut her hair again. I said smile!
Lettie's voice brought her attention back. Her hands were trembling now. She just wanted to run away and get away from the smell and back to Hannah and... she was doing this for Hannah.
"The... the rowbo-robot. D-do you know here where...what happened to her?" she stammers. She swallows and tries to compose herself, badly. "I know what she's fe- what it's like having other people... in your head... too... not... remember..."
// Karina is fighting back tears. The little empath hadn't ever encountered someone quite like Lettie before.

Lettie's voice is locked at level, but it drips with venom. "It is crazy. That monster killed Kaira, and you... want to help it? Kindness is wasted on evil." Lettie's hatred reaches a fever pitch, and a part of it turns inward. In a sense, I killed Kaira too, by causing Zero to accidentally catch Seiva in that attack. After a moment, Lettie's certainty is undercut by doubt. "Monster isn't quite right. It is... not evil. It can't be. It's broken... just a broken machine, whose true purpose is..." The drunken haze is closing in. Lettie clutches her head a moment, and shuts her eyes. The star and auroras she sees as she tenses her brow are swimming. "Please, I... need a moment. I had... realized... just before..." Lettie relaxes her brow but her eyes remain closed, and slowly, she kneels down, before seating herself and leaning against a wall.//Karina might recognize that Lettie's fingers are twisting about and pressing against one another in much the same way as before. Though the drunken haze never fully vanishes, the combined pressure of hatred, grief, and anxiety suddenly falls away to an oddly pleasant calm, as though a storm has turned to clear skies in the span of seconds. Lettie feels an intense focus, a tension itself that she seems to control to yield some kind of relief, and as she scans through her memories, the flashes of negative emotion she experiences at each recollection are present, but diminished in threat, like a poisonous plant safely observed at a distance."Hannah spoke... to a planeswalker trapped within Zero, and moments later, a trapped planeswalker spoke... or rather their memory did... of going to Spark Labs, which sent those smaller machines to retrieve Zero. Something horrible happened... must have happened to them... and to another planeswalker, and Zero's demeanor to latter was the same as when she became unfriendly to Hannah. That was after Hannah did something with the prime file... she restored it... do you understand, child? That machine holds the souls of planeswalkers, and it was... designed to. It was... not Hannah's mistake, in fixing it, but Brayden's mistake in... thinking it should be fixed. The machine's intended purpose is evil. The only accepted... only reason it accepted Hannah's help, at any point was that it had some...how already been broken. Spark Labs is the enemy, and to help Zero, you would have to break her again."//Lettie disentangles her fingers, and the strange source of focus fades away. She opens her eyes to try and look at Karina's face for a sign of comprehension, and as she does so, she feels discomfort, as though she's looking at a light that's slightly too bright, which also happens to be blurred and swimming about due to her inebriation.
"I feel... as much pity for... that machine as I would for pocket- for some broken, accursed pocketwatch. If she is still a threat next- when next she appears on this Arena... I will destroy her myself, for the good... of all of us, and I... will... find... a way. We are all under the same heavens."Stinging Sentinel Creature — Elf Warrior Stinging Sentinel doesn't untap during your untap step. The first time you cast a green spell each turn, untap all creatures you control. 3/2 Off Kilter — Well it's definitely got aesthetic. I'm not certain tapping a target land does much though, since a lot of the time it's either tapped in response for an instant, or it untaps in time for a sorcery. I also question the utility of this card compared to others of the same cost. 7/10

Stinging Sentinel needle sentinels all grown up, and somehow less abuseable now 9/10 "We'll do what we have to," echoes Lettie, and she finds it so absurd to hear from the child that she bursts out laughing, "To be so innocent and naive again!" This child is about to risk her life, and for what? Brief consideration of the answer reignites the hatred Lettie had just suppressed. "Why do you think, child... as she refused Hannah's help... why do you think she approached Hannah still? I told you two... to... to move away from her, to... begin with, because she was about to... take Hannah hostage. Feared for... fear might have driven Zero, but do you think she feared for Hannah's safety? She certainly didn't care when she struck down Seiva. She went on about salvation as though she didn't notice!"Like those who preach salvation from pain in our lives, never to notice how they are a part of that pain. Lettie's brief distraction fans her hatred into a blaze of such intensity that it brings tears to her eyes. Like those who beg our inherent goodness, if only to deny their own evil. For a moment, she sits against the wall, silent, and burns in her hatred for all of humanity."There are so... many mistakes, and so... many people are afraid, and so..." She wipes an eye. "...many of them want help, and you choose to risk your life on that thing."
The haze was closing in again, and Lettie wasn't about to allow it. Her entire body seems to tense, and her hatred coalesces into focus and malice.
"I saw its true form, when it murdered Kaira. Its skin... it had burned away. It received those wings, before... and those machines that came to its aid... with the prime file, it must now know the way to Nulien- to Spark Labs, where it seeks repairs much like those wings, no doubt that disguise as well. The same place that planeswalker in its memories had gone to, never to return. That same planeswalker who is now trapped within it, among the others trapped so. You are chasing after a fate worse than death. I had wondered how a soulless machine could planeswalk in such a way, but it's now all too clear. No one ever attains that power for a good reason..." Her focus wavers...Lettie takes a few deep breaths. "...least... of all..." She struggles to finish..."... ... ...Zero." Lettie finally forces out, and she falls silent as she is overtaken by exhaustion like ice in her veins.
Scornful Sluagh Creature — Faerie Flying Whenever a creature is dealt damage, destroy it. 1/1 Some wounds heal, others scar, and some never close. Test Resolve — Seems pure white to me. This effectively cancels out all damage, so unless the creature is destroyed in one go (thank god for batched combat damage), it will survive as though it had its toughness before the counters, which seems a bit inelegant. I do like that it can play into pyroclasm effects, however, which makes the red a little closer to believable. 7/10

For a moment, she sits against the wall, silent, and burns in her hatred for all of humanity. My free hand clenches at her words. She didn't understand any of it. She didn't know what I—what Zero was going through. She was dangerous, but she was helpless. Lettie could only see her for the monster.
"There are so... many mistakes, and so... many people are afraid, and so... ...many of them want help, and you choose to risk your life on that thing."
"Because what if I don't!" I yell before I can stop myself. "She's not gonna stop. She's just going to find someone else, and someone else, and someone else, and hurt them too." My voice catches in gasps. Can't cry. I had my time to be scared. "All because... no one tried to fix it. I can't let this happen again... because... I was scared."

test The foremost members of the retreating succumb to the amassing worms, screaming against the onslaught, some futilely attempting to fend off the attacking creatures. Kamwid rushed to the front, splitting her warband as they attempted to retreat from the counter-offensive. "Shut up."Kamwid slammed the butt of her club against the dirt, a flash of green erupting as she began her own chant, fog accumulating at her hooves as she spoke. "Turn and burn! Twist and and bring the woods to life! Take the force of life for your own! Wear it's splendor as your crown!"As Kamwid turned away, joining her retreating warband as they attempted a second retreat, a creature burst from the dirt, humanoid with cloven feet. A wild look in its eyes as it looked at the amassing worms. One worm attempted to latch to the beast, only inciting a laugh as the measly creature withered against the beast's touch. Cackling, the summoned monster charged its way through the Worms that Walked, sloughing off their mass and claiming its power for itself. {Spoiler}{Response Card - Patron of the Wilders} Kamwid left the beast to deal with Lettie and her summoned monsters, rushing along with her warband with her spoils. This was a battle not worth fighting. Lettie cackles, as worms continue to rise from the earth, withering, vanishing into the beast. "Splendor! No, Life is a loathsome, squirming thing, that now lies within this beast! You've changed nothing!" As it charges, it trips over a leg, now reverted to worms, bloated, and rotting as they writhe. As the beast's arms meet the ground, the entire mass it has stolen returns to the same hideous worms- and they burst, releasing a rain of foul and blighted gore, coating the spoils that the warband has already dropped, killing more raiders, and barring the way back to the village. Lettie has already stepped ahead of the retreat one last time, and leers at Kamwid through the aether, with a grotesque sneer twisting her face, saying nothing. That was a proper summon just now. She's a planeswalker. And now, I can follow her. If Kamwid continues the retreat while she can, Lettie returns to the village to aid in salvaging the settlement.Emerge from the Host Sorcery Remove all counters from target creature. Then, for each counter removed this way, all creatures get -1/-1 until end of turn. Patron of the Wilders — So, there's a neat little bit of pie that lies within Sultai. We can see it in the likes of Bioshift and Fate Transfer. However, as far as I can tell, stealing the counters from creatures you don't control is typically a thing that black and blue do, and green not as much, as the spells green is involved in are largely friendly. As such this is a bit of strange bend, since it's creature removal that's a bit unlike green. That is, however, my only complaint. 8/10This is horrendously late, but an interesting twist on Vampire Hexmage. Frighteningly powerful against an opponent playing counters. Not sure how to judge this, since it seems like another bit of rare niche black removal, but it's probably not broken. 7/10.

Another screech. Quieter. But closer. Beik looks around nervously. "Right. So I was in this team and we went to the past, right, some took notes, some kept watch, we didn't really do much of anything there. Then we came back, now these beasts from the past keep showing up around me wherever I go and I don't think it's foul play." He suddenly points at a window. A small feathered raptor on the outside is peering on the inside of the shop. "There's one! Shoo! Shoo!" The raptor sends out an odd sequence of vaguely chirping sounds somewhere between a gurgle and a titter and takes a few steps back, but remains in the area, as if waiting for something.
