Cautious Inspection: I keep going back and forth if this card is a color pie break or a color pie bend. According to this its a color pie break but the flavor fits blue. But I'm gonna stick to the side of caution and say that it doesn't fit in blue, it could exist in red without the restriction (look at Metallic Mastery) and at a lower rarity 6/10

Crusher Creel: Had to look up who this was, I dont really follow marvel stuff. Seems on theme for the 'absorbing man' from what I can tell from wikipedia. Feels odd for a vanguard not to change life total or hand size, but I can't personally think of how to change it because I'm not too familier with the character 9/10

Jodah: Its my boi Jodah!  Its kinda sad that another vanguard already had Jodah's ability (this) but oh well. Seems broken at first but having to cast a creature with cmc 5 or higher balances it out, I would have it increase handsize to reflect his wizard background and so to reflect his knowledge over his many years 9/10

(And also I just realised Jodah resides in Tolaria West, so I could theoretically use him as a character when someone visits Brayden's Lab)

Tolaria West Apprentice: Seems odd for a vanguard, (the character not the effect), but they made a vanguard for birds of paradise of all things so i'll allow it. I'm not sure how to analyze the effect (the extra turn one), might be fine but I'm not sure 9/10

(Well thats awkward, If you do bring them back, how should Brayden act around them? Do you it would make sense for Brayden to be atleast familiar with them? Or maybe they will be very slightly different timeline, a bit like Twyla if know that character on here, to explain why Brayden has no idea who they are? Just food for thought, i'll go with whatever you decide to do.)

"Thank you, Michi." he says while inspecting it, then removes the cap, and takes a sniff, "Yep... Thats potent...!" he says while putting the cap back on, "I'll say thanks to Lettie later. Oh yeah, I've been studying the cause of this." he says while gesturing to his right arm, "And I've found some insights as to what caused this; Would you mind following me back to my lab? So I can discuss this further. And also nice hat! Where did you get it from? I could do with a fancy new hat."

While nervously looking at the tear made by Doer, a growl emenates from Brayden's pocket, "What the-," he says while throwing a piece of paper onto the floor, which seems to be source of the sound, and blasts it with a bolt of lightning, "I really don't like whats happening... Lets get the hell out of here!" he says while grabbing Michi's paw and runs into the portal with Michi behind him.

On the otherside of the portal, Michi arrives in a cluttered lab, with various machines and books filling the many shelves, and there is a wooden desk which Brayden collapses on a chair next to it. "Please, Michi, tell me that wasn't related to the so-called 'doom' that it said in this letter," he says while flashing the letter at him, and snaps his fingers and the portal then dissappears, "I hope your brother can follow us, and more importantly whatever coursed that can't follow us."

Doer, Eldrazi Hunter: I like the flavor of it (the horror bit), but i feel the effect is a bit too niche for a legendary 8/10

"Eldrazi...?" he says under his breath, "Well, as long as we're safe, I'll continue what I was saying." he says louder so Michi and Doer can hear him. "Michi, come follow me. Doer... you can watch if you want." As Brayden guides Michi to the back of the Lab, Michi (and Doer if he follows) sees a rather large machine holding a green gem in place. "This is the Mox Emerald I mentioned to you before. I discovered something interesting about this type of gem," he says while turning a valve very slightly, "I'll pass some mana through so you can see the effect," and then the gem starts glowing a soft green, but at the center of the gem, Michi notices a distinct glow thats different from the ambient glow. "Do you see it? I discovered that every mox gem has a tiny amount of aether embedded in its center. I think your theory about aether was correct."

"I think I already mentioned this to you before, but due to the natural frequency of the aether in this gem, passing through any colored mana through it would convert it into green mana, and this mana can be really be used for anything you would naturally use mana for. It's just more convenient to use moxen gems because they produce pure amounts of any color you want. However... When exposed to large amounts of aether," he says while moving to his deck to grab something and returns with a shard of a green gem, "it tends to explode."

Doer, Mind-blowing Genius: Neat! A rakdos legendary that interacts with artifacts, I believe R&D hasn't done something like this before. Feels odd that the red ability can't target any target, but I guess thats what the black ability is for. 9/10

"What kind of explosion? I meown, how big it is?"

"Well... You can see for yourself," while starting to look up at the ceiling. If Doer and Michi look up, they see a Brayden-shaped hole in the ceiling, "had to call for a cleric to patch me up after that fall... And it was more like a shockwave than a traditional explosion. But, I guess the distinction doesn't really matter..."

"Why not? If his transformeowtion started when he got exposed to that gem's influence blowing it up meowst revert it." Doer smiled. "What do you say, meowster? Win win. You get cured and I get to blow things. And Michi, I'm sure you can take some notes." The cat's smile widens. "What if I meowke it explode in the Blind Eternities? I'm sure you, scientists can find something useful from that. And I get to eat... Eldrazi tentacles 'al pesto'?"

"Doer, I get where you are coming from, but... I think a more gentle procedure would be best. A way of safely extracting the aether from my arm would be better," he says while reaching into a box and retrieving a green gem and passes it to Doer, "But, that doesn't stop me watching some good ol' explosions!"  he says while putting on goggles, "Michi, there's no need to worry. After my research into mox gems; It's become relatively easy to make more of them."

The Greatest Explosion Ever: Seems neat, but I think it needs tweaking because as is he have to sacrifice multiple small creatures (it says permanents but lets face it, when you play this you're in red and most likely you'll be having a lot of creatures) or one big creature to deal damage on par with Electrify. maybe have it do X damage, where X is 2 + the total converted mana cost of permanents sacrificed to cast this spell". So its easier to get higher damage 7/10

As if on cue, Brayden grabs the gem and with a grunt of physical exertion, the gem starts glowing softly, then glows even brighter, and then suddenly tiny bolts of lightning start sparking from the gem, "The gem's ready, throw it in! But I recomend you close that portal or things are gonna get hairy!"


As Doer throws the gem into the breach and closes it; A deafening noise reverberates around the room. Then, suddenly, a man who looks like they are in their late 40s and dressed in similer cloak to brayden's but is lot more pristine barges in, "This is the second time this week! How many times do you have to put a hole in the wall!?"

"But, I haven't," he says while gesturing around the room, "And I was just entertaining my guests!"

"Maybe, next time you 'entertain' your guests; you don't do something so loud and so dangerous." he says while paying no attention to Michi or Doer and walks off visibly annoyed leaving the door wide open.

"Sorry about that," he says while turning his attention back to Doer and Michi, "that was my collegue Naben, hes always been boring. Doer, Michi, are you both okay?"

After Doer and Michi inspects themselves, They find they are perfectly fine besides a slight ringing in the ears from the loud noise.

Extreme Measures: Seems fine to me. Not too niche and not too general. Multicolor doesn't feel like it fits with the rest of it, but I think that could easily be explained using the flavor around the card 9/10

"I would say that you can try and meowke a cut in your arm to see if everything is as it should be inside it or if meowre things are wrong, but I can't stand seeing blood, so don't count with meow for that."

"Hmm..." he says in a moment of contemplation, "Well... Maybe one of our Clerics could do it? I'm not really sure. We mainly focus on artifice, and so we leave all the medical stuff to the Clerics with their magic. Maybe later I'll ask the clerics if anyone can do it."

"She is got a store near the Bakery, you know where it is, right?" Michi quickly sketches a map of the Bakery and its surroundings and hands it to Brayden. "I'm sorry we couldn't hlelp meowre." After a short irrelevant chat, boths turn to leave the laboratory. "It's been a pleasure blowing things up with you, meowster. I've got a random tip for you. Make explosives from those gems. I would buy a lot of them." Michi makes a slight bow, before leaving the plane with his brother.

Patchwork Abomination: I thing this is a bit memory taxing as is. I would prefer if it cared about every exiled card or cards exiled by other Patchwork Abominations. Anyways, interesting idea. 9/10
