Backstory: Tazorax's existence was created by a single act of rebellion by Urabrask's hands. When Urabrask's domain was laid waste to by Elesh norn's hands, he fled with the Mirran Resistance to the mountain shelters, in the process creating a tense but mutually beneficial alliance. The resistance would allow him to stay under the condition that he would fight for them and give over information about the other praetors, which he agreed to due to his hate for the other praetors, and due to an intrinsic disagreement he had with other praetors. Unlike all the rest of the praetors, he had developed sympathy for the plight of the native Mirran's existence (due to him being the praetor aligned with red), as he developed sympathy for them, an emotion that felt alien to the phyrexian mind, he was slowly disgusted by the other praetors methods and the very nature of his race wanting to assimilate the people by force, and hence destroying the original person.
While doing a infiltration mission of Jin-Gitaxias's laboratory, he overheard some of Jin-Gitaxia's disciples talking about the creation of Dieu-13, and their plans of spreading Phyrexia's conquest across many worlds. Upon hearing this he knew in an instant the implications of it. He had to prevent the spread of Phyrexian oil, he felt partly responsible for the subjugation of the native Mirran people; he could not let that happen again. And so he secretly stole their research, and set to work creating his own invention, salvaging his former subjects to create it.
After many prototypes, he had created Tazorax; his masterpiece. And when his spark was created, Tazorax was flung across the Multiverse with two goals in mind: Stop Dieu-13, and prevent the spread of Phyrexian oil.
On his hip, there is a hilt but with no blade. As long as he is holding it, Tazorax can make a blade of pure fire erupt from the hilt.

Backstory: Brayden was born of noble blood, his bloodline was one of few who survived the destruction of the Tolarian Academy by the Phyrexians many years ago, and his family now resides in Tolaria West. Trained as an artificer, he performed many unusual experiments on his artifacts; all of which tended to explode by the end of it. However, his luck of avoiding said explosions ran out one day as one of his experiments blew up, and blasted him with pure green mana. This caused his body to mutate into, what he called later, Gronk. With this flood of mana come an overwhelming feeling of rage and in that moment his spark ignited and fired him through the Blind Eternities. When he next woke up, he was back to how he was before, but deep down he can feel a searing rage that wasn't there before. 17/08/2019: Gained type mastery of Artifact 20/09/2019: Gained Rarity Upgrader 09/10/2019: Increased CMC by 1 21/11/2019: Gained type mastery of Planeswalker 15/01/2020: Gained Artificer 31/01/2020: Gained Improvise 08/02/2020:Gained type mastery of Sorcery

AdelynIn Brayden's journeys across the Arena, he finds a man in his late 20's/early 30's, with tall boots, brown pants with runes stitched into them, and a really long black coat. This man is currently standing in, and appears to be investigating a small house that has very clearly been on fire at some point. Almost an hour's walk away is what appears to be what once was a city, and from the house one can see a few half-toppled spires. The man is standing next to a bed, reading through a book, when he looks up and sees the Professor. "Yet another planeswalker arrives! Why there are so many of us here..." He mumbles to himself."Anyways," He now addresses Brayden, and his face seems to light up a bit. "Nice to meet you! My name is Xander. Instant Until end of turn, whenever you put a card into your graveyard, you may pay . If you do, draw a card. Morbid Curiosity: 8/10. I like the idea, but the wording is... interesting. I would think it should be "whenever a card enters your graveyard" but I'm not sure if you're letting creatures dying and/or instants and sorceries count. "Oh, Brayden, we are far from Dominaria. People call this plane "The Arena" and judging by my time here, it's a fairly accurate name. Some people are friendly, others try to kill you, some do both, it's a bit of a coin toss as far as I can tell."Xander gives up on the book he had. "As for what happened here, I'm not entirely sure, and it seems that no one had the decency to write it down."Toss Away Instant Return target nonland permanent to its owner's hand. If an artifact is targeted this way, you may put it on top of its owner's library instead.

Savage Sacking Instant Until end of turn, gain control of target artifact and untap it. If it is an equipment, attach it to target creature you control. I like this design - it can Act of Treason artifact creatures, borrow useful artifacts, steal combo pieces mid-combo, or both snag a useful equipment and force the opponent to pay the equip cost to move it afterwards (since losing control of the equipment won't change what it's equipped to). 10/10At first, the mechanical figure doesn't respond, focusing on the blades - though Brayden quickly notices that the figure is more than capable of holding off the animated blades. However, as the coarse shout echoes through the area, the floating blades stop, before flying towards the mechanical man and seemingly vanishing into his cloak as the figure turns to you. As he does, it clicks for you as to why you find the design familiar - it's something you've seen in texts on artifice, but have not dealt with yourself, but upon closer inspection it's unmistakable. The figure's design is clearly Phyrexian. As you realize this, the figure speaks. "You have my attention. Is there something you require of me?"Purchaser's Proof Artifact When Purchaser's Proof enters the battlefield, each player gains control of all artifacts they own. Players can't gain control of artifacts they don't own. Whenever another artifact you control dies or is exiled, you may exile Purchaser's Proof. If you do, search your library for a card with the same name as that artifact and put it onto the battlefield, then shuffle your library.

Loyal Experimenter: Because Blue needs more card draw Jokes aside, its like you said its a mentor of the meek but for artifacts, but there are quite a few 0 cost artifacts that tap/sacrifice for mana leading to free card draw so I would increase the cost of ability, or that could be just be me 7.5/10 (And when I first read it, i thought it said "Lonely experimenter")

Nicely balanced as well, and fitting for an artificer. I can't help but wonder if it could get away with costing less, though, and being able to counter enchantments seems just a bit out of place on it. 9/10Khon watches the man for a moment, before saying, "I can contain you, certainly." A dozen long blades dart out from his cloak, rising up into the air before driving into the ground in a circle around Brayden. If you are creating cards using the any of the following mechanics, you may create two cards using these mechanics in a single interaction with the following conditions: - The second card must be a creature (unless you are creating a Fortification, in which case it must be a land.) - The combined CMC of the two cards must be less than your current CMC. - Your second card must adhere to your profile's limitations in the same way a regular card you would make would. (I.e. you still need Creature Mastery to make creatures to give an Equipment to.)" I can appreciate the "end of my tale, and now the card I'm using is Tale's End" but also I can't give you valor if you don't make a card...

1/2 (It's fine, the rules are definitely very confusing at first.) Rhystic Student: Hm.... 8/10. What I would do to change it depends on what rarity it is. As an uncommon I think maybe it should cost more, and as a rare I think I'd make it a 2/2. (But also don't stress about it too much, I also forgot to add a rarity to one of my cards pretty recently.) Xander listens attentively to the beginning of the story, and sticks through some of the technical stuff, trying to understand it, but gives up about halfway through. "Weird. Can't say I understood all of that, but maybe that's just because I don't do a lot of artifice."A red flash in the distance catches Xander's eye. "I should go. It was great to meet you though, Brayden. I hope we find each other on the same side of a fight someday."With that, the runes in Xander's pants begin to glow blue, and he rises a few feet into the air, then flies off.

Khon Vasq, Outcast Phyrexian: I love this card! I love the usage of phyrexian mana in this card, and I like the incentivising of not always paying life and it being balanced starting at 1 or 4 loyalty 10/10 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Violent Backfire Instant Until end of turn, whenever an player puts one or more counters on a permeanent, deal that much damage to that permeanent's controller. After the Binding released, Brayden stood up and dusted his clothes, "Thanks for that, I still have very little control of him,""I have been named as Khon Vasq... and yes, I come from Phyrexia. Would I be correct in assuming you come from Dominaria?" "And, why yes, I am from Dominaria. I am Professor Henry Brayden of Tolaria West, and I guess my suspicions were correct, you're of them phyrexians I've heard stories of, and to think I would ever see one, let alone that is still active" he says, while looking him up and down, "And sorry about that, lets just say after an experiment of mine went terribly wrong and quite literally blew in my face, he was created deep within my psyche; A man of pure rage and I guess he did not like being ignored," and then stuck out his hand in a friendly manner, "it is good to meet you, Mr Vasq."
I have just a couple of issues with this. First, I feel like this should be an enchantment rather than an instant, and just be a static effect. This is in large part due to the fact that you can't respond to a planeswalker's loyalty activation with this and have it do anything - you can't respond to the payment of a cost, only to the effect itself. Second... this isn't . At all. That said, I do like the concept (and, in fact, I very well may have to take the basic idea and refine it for a set I'm working on). 7/10Khon looks at the hand for a moment, before reaching out and grasping it, shaking it briefly. "Tolaria... it has been quite some time since I have heard anything of Dominaria, but I remember hearing of it as some form of mage academy, I believe. Still, you say that you have heard stories of Phyrexians... what can you tell me of those? It has been a very long time since I left Phyrexia... and I have not been to Dominaria at all in my travels, so I do not know what may have happened there."Cogwork Scribe Artifact Creature - Construct Draft Cogwork Scribe face up. During the draft, you may turn Cogwork Scribe face down. If you do, look at the next card drafted by each other player and note their names. Whenever a player casts a spell with a name you noted for cards named Cogwork Scribe, you may draw a card. 2/2

Cogwork Scribe:Huh... A draft card. 9/10. Allows you to exchange a single draft into information of what your opponents are drafting. Could increase stats and add a keyword for the rarity, besides that, its good. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Savage Rioter Creature - Human Berserker Haste When Savage Rioter enters the battlefield, choose one — Put a +1/+1 counter on Savage Rioter. Destroy target artifact or enchantment. 1/1 "Tolaria... it has been quite some time since I have heard anything of Dominaria, but I remember hearing of it as some form of mage academy, I believe. "Actually, I shouldn't call them stories; As far as I am aware they actually happened," he says while sitting down while motioning for Vasq to do the same, "this going to be long story," he says before recounting a good portion of phyrexian invasion (give me a break im not too familiar with that bit of lore), which goes on for hours, and ending it with the death of yawgmoth by the legacy weapon, and gerrard's sacrifice, "although that might seem like the end of phyrexians on dominaria, even after death, yawgmoth's blood still taints Urborg."

Simple... elegant... balanced... it's perfect. 10/10 (Also, don't worry about the lore - I know more than enough about the invasion to fill in the gaps.)"I see," Khon replies after hearing Brayden's explanation of the Phyrexian invasion and its aftermath. "I... thank you for telling me this, Professor Henry Brayden. Perhaps we can speak again in the future - but for now, I will take my leave." I said long ago that the Ineffable's grudge was wasted effort, but this... I would not have expected it to lead to Phyrexia's destruction.

This one is alright, Aether Gust is a thing now. 8/10 (Also, in general life hates aether. It's why you can't take friends through the blind eternities with you; the aether'll just fry them. A sparkling teal portal swirls into existence before Henry, and Twyla Nguyen steps out right before it fizzles out of focus.
"Hey, Henry," she says quickly, "I wanted to share something with you. This instance of me is from a future slightly ahead of the conversation we had about alternate colors, and this piece of paper is a draft of a new work that me and my team are trying to publish soon. I thought it might interest you."
The piece of paper is a pleasant cream color, and it's warm (perhaps fresh from a printer).
It reads:
On Orange Mana NEW RAVNICA RESEARCH — RAINBOW DIVISION RESEARCH IN PROGRESS 14-17-320 NR ** THIS IS A DRAFT. CONTACT NADIJA SI7ION FOR CURRENT UPDATES. **Over the past three months, we've made breakthrough after breakthrough on the subject of the different types of viable mana available on Ilael (informally known as the "mana rainbow"). This is an informal recapitulation of three months of research, the formal counterpart of which will be published for public access on completion of our sixth round of tests. You'll find that most of the information here is not scientific evidence, but rather observations of other communities here on Ilael and how their mana coincides with their ways of living. A more quantitative approach to the mana discussion is forthcoming. §1―On OriginsOrange is one of the four colors of mana that are magically viable on Ilael, and, along with blue, orange is one of the only two naturally occurring colors of mana. While blue mana is tapped from the depths of the ocean and from our great islands, orange is tapped from the massive reefs that jut out along the seashore and throughout the ocean, forming an intricate maze of currents. Reef
Basic Land — Reef (: Add ❦.)Unlike the two weak colors, and (which can only be produced synthetically), orange and blue resonate so strongly that tapping a single reef or island can produce enough mana to sustain a summon or a continuous enchanting spell for many months. §2―On IdentityOrange is the color of evening sunsets, of autumn leaves, of salmon returning home. And, like all of these things, orange mana is endlessly cyclical, traveling in predictable spirals, slow and steady. Notable are its focus on cycles of life and death, cycles of growth and decay. Orange systems of community are primitive, but that is not to say that they are driven only by instinct. Orange views civilization as oppressive, introducing limitless unnecessary complications to the lives of people and creatures who are better off living with the land. Orange's strengths include stability, consistency, and clarity of purpose. Orange's weaknesses include stubbornness, narrowness and naivety. Primary in orange:
- Undying - +1/+1 counters - Benefits for surviving combat - Sustainability with very little; bonuses for having few to no creatures - Survival-of-the-fittest effects (e.g. 3 damage to each creature) - Direct damage (burn) - Big creatures, lonely creatures - Enchantments; enchantment-friendly - Multityped cards ― land creatures, enchantment creatures, enchantment lands, and so on Secondary in orange:
- Card draw - Mana production & land love - Animating lands - Circle of life effects (whenever another creature dies, put a +1/+1 counter) - Direct-from-hand effects - Direct-from-graveyard effects - Deathtouch - Card wealth (and bonuses) - Graveyard recovery §3―On RelationshipsIlael's mana rainbow looks like this: ❦. Accordingly, when put in a light chamber or refraction ward, blue mana will rotate to orange first, then green, then white. There are four magically viable colors of high resonance, with several niche colors (red, purple, etc.) whose uses are too fringe and difficult to use that they are not considered to be part of the main rainbow. It should be remarked that, when used in combination with the other colors, orange has some interesting qualities. Its relationship to the other colors can be described as follows: Orange and blue: While blue represents the active force of nature, the inexorable movement of the sea and of time, pressing on us all, orange represents the passive, material force of nature. Where orange and blue struggle, it is often because orange's need for permanence and certainty clashes with blue's ever-changing style of innovation. Because orange is so content with being stable, blue often sees it as naive and stubborn. On the other side, orange dislikes blue's emphasis on achieving, learning and changing, preferring to bask in the present, being one with the way of things, never wanting too much and never giving away too much. Orange and green: Green is the sun rising, orange is the sun setting. Together, the two natural colors represent the calling and the hearing of instinct, orange fostering creation, sustenance, and patience, and green providing ambition, loyalty and community. Where orange and green struggle, it's often because orange favors artificial things that last, in the form of enchantments and artifacts, while green sees these things as shallow and offensive to the natural ways of the world. In addition, orange is absolutely fine being self-sufficient and thrives on its own, while green has the need for an expansive, supportive community. Orange and white: Orange's and white's ultimate goals are the same―peace and long life. They both care about preservation and self-care. After that, though, their philosophies grow apart. Orange sees white's rigidity and conformity as oppressive, reductive and harmful. Orange is much more flexible, practical and trusting: where white would impose law and order, orange would simply let others live as they want, succeeding and learning only in small amounts that are necessary for their survival. White can see orange as stingy and selfish, but orange sees white's generosity as pointless at best and dangerous at worst. §4―Conclusion
Our research has taken us far and wide, allowed us to observe countless societies where one, two, three or all four colors were present in the design and function of the community. Through this research, we have gotten a wealth of insight, most of which we've presented here, into orange mana, its capabilities and its limitations. We're still delving deep into the mechanics of orange mana―what we can make of it, how best to use it, and that kind of thing. Updates forthcoming. New Ravnican Research — Rainbow DivisionTwyla Nguyen, Research Head Nadija Si7ion, Rainbow Division Leader; Thelma Gio, Harriett Jynnis, and Charlie Clade, researchers. Twyla stands patiently, to allow reading time. When Henry appears to be done, she says, "It's a copy, so feel free to keep it. As of right now, could this help your research at all? Do you have any questions for me or for my team?"
Progress Report Instant Choose two ― • Proliferate. • Scry 2. • Draw a card.

Progress Report: Seems perfectly fine, I'm surprised they haven't printed something like this 10/10 (I am ecstatic! I can't wait to see orange mana in action!) "Thank you for the copy, I could use this in my research," he says while placing it on his desk, "I do have a question," he says while pulling a machine from his desk, "What are your thoughts on this?" On closer investigation the machine looks like a crude version of the mana refracting machine that New Ravnica uses to get other colors of mana. Mana Refractor Artifact : Put a charge counter on Mana Refractor. , Remove a charge counter from Mana Refractor: Add one mana of any color.

You can go look for yourself." he says while pointing to something behind him, at the back of Brayden's lab, you see what looks like charred remains of a machine similer to the mana refractor, "My last experiment blew up before I got a chance to extract anything; The mana refraction process creates a lot of pressure. It is possible for you to get the schematics for your machine?" he says and then he suddenly pauses as if thinking about something, "Actually, it is possible for you to guide me to Ilael? So I can see the machine you use to make other colors of mana in action, and I can collect samples of this orange mana you mentioned."Overclocked Mana Refractor Artifact : Add one mana of any color and put a charge counter on Overclocked Mana Refractor. , , Remove three charge counters from Overclocked Mana Refractor and sacrifice it: It deals 2 damage to any target.
