"I've no respect for your kind," announces Obris, stepping in without warning. "No nation, no creed, no cause... what right do you have to call yourselves warriors?"Mandate Sphere Artifact As Mandate Sphere enters the battlefield, choose two nonland card types. Spells of the first chosen type cost less to cast. spells of the second chosen type cost more to cast. (If it matters, Obris names sorcery and instant respectively.)

"Well, I get up and go to war, I reckon that makes me enough of a warrior to me. The sword and the axe give me that right, and stuff."Right of the Axe Enchantment - Aura Enchant creature When Right of the Axe enters the battlefield, you may destroy target artifact. Enchanted creature has hexproof and can't be blocked by more than one creature. With a swift motion, Rekal slices the sphere in twain. "Have you got any more talk to go with that?" He smiles sincerely.Mandate Sphere is a pretty awesome, slightly more political upgrade to [[Cloud Key]] and a good way to make it matter even at a cost of four mana. 10/10

Obris growls and retrieves the broken halves of his sphere. "You'll pay for that, swine."On Right of the Axe: ETB Auras are something we don't really get enough of, and this one feels about right - appropriately costed, fine at uncommon. If I have one complaint it's that the abilities feel a bit too disjointed, but that's a minor issue, especially considering cards like Flight of Fancy. 8/10.

Watchhawk: Ok so, generic mana symbols go before coloured mana symbols. Nice idea, but I've got a feeling that the activated ability could cost a bit less. 7/10 I'm assuming it's a gift and not an attack, but if it is, tell me and I'll change the reaction and the card. "A fair assessment, and some fine advice. Cheers." Rekal attempts to pet the hawk.Prize of the Beasts Instant Look at the top X cards of your library, where X is the toughness of target creature you or a teammate control. Endure and Learn Instant Target permanent you control gains indestructible until end of turn. If it's the target of another spell or ability, draw a card. "The greatest heroes start as common men, and retain that attitude, never forgetting a lesson." -Zeriofa, Ervad writer Though surprised, Rekal manages to slice the magic emanating from Bahrun's construct away. "Wounds damn it, arteficer! They're costly and all!" He softens a bit. "I'm quite proud of that trick, though. Took me a while to learn it."Baeldun Enforcer is usually going to be better than <<Elf Replica>>, but I'm going to say I'm ok with that. 9/10, though it sorely needs some flavour text for its empty space. That's not really a design issue, though, so... EDIT-That seems like good enough flavour text, yeah.

The hawk ruffles its feathers appreciatively as you pet it, and then it takes off with a beating of its wings to keep vigil over its master once more.
(Prize of the Beasts is strong. Like really strong, seeing it as something that might scry 2 or 3 and draw for 2 mana in green at instant speed. I feel as though a 6/10 is fair for this design.)

"A deft manoeuvre," Bahrum acknowledges, appreciating Rekal's weapon craftsmanship even more. "Your swords radiate with power. You must have befriended quite an artisan."
Endure and Learn: You caught my sneaky flavour text addition, eh. This is an interesting exploration into new Magic territory. I'm not sure how it would be formatted. It does well to counter my card, but the 'if' clause feels so narrow and tacked on that the card itself feels kind of unrealistic. 7/10

The nongreen part doesn’t stop my card but the second does. The card also completely changes it’s entire ability from becoming a nongreen fog to a better lifegreen fog then Green gets at this card is under costed and changes from a potential fog yourself to a lifegain fog opponent which is a white ability. Still it does beat my card 3/10 i will argue against the firebreathig costing to little. Not for points, but for if it comes up again. looking at captive flame from kamigawi which is only doesn’t make itself killable if you increase a creatures power past four and a type that red and black can’t deal with. There is also a green creature that gives +1/+1 for granted it was a cost card but that buff is much better. I’ll take the 4.5 still though. Good lesson for me. Orc smiles at your ability to dodge. “Perhaps I won’t even need to try to hold back.”

@sylph: Captive Flame costs three mana, doesn't double as a dual land, and is probably too strong anyway, in my opinion. Ursapine looks balanced, but it is a 3/3 for and doesn't double as a dual land. Your card doesn't have to boost one single creature, it's not an Aura that grants firebreathing; it can boost several creatures' power; therefore, the transform condition isn't that restrictive and doesn't really work as a balancing tool that much; it changes the decks it can be used in, but it doesn't make it not too powerful in those decks. My thinking for Guide the Hunt was that something like 'if this prevents damage by nongreen creatures, it's generally going to prevent all damage by creatures except the damage by some of yours and the damage by some of your opponents' if they're playing green; therefore, preventing all damage except the damage dealt by your creatures feels like an upgrade'. You're probably right that not changing it and keeping it as preventing damage from nongreen creatures even when upgraded makes sense, though. I'll do that if I ever reuse the card. I believe lifegain fogs that count your opponent's creatures are acceptable in , but I guess that if you don't believe that, there's no counterexample to prove it or anything, so, it's just a case of differing opinions. I'd argue that my card is different enough from Blunt the Assault that they can't really be compared: one always works the same, one has a trigger; one is a common, one is an uncommon; one will always gain you more life than the other, the other might let you get more damage through. @everyone else that attacked me: Thank you! I'll answer to your posts soon! EDIT- Geomantic Projectile: Seems like a great design. 10/10 Tiger Ambush Instant As an additional cost to cast Tiger Ambush, return a creature you control to its owner's hand. Create two 2/2 green Cat creature tokens. The researchers eventually managed to find the wild specimen they were looking for, much to their dismay.
Based on Primadox Cub, Invasive Species, and the like. Rekal seems to disappear in the surroundings. After the rock impacts without hitting him, he emerges from the nearby area again, accompained by two large, striped felines. "So, what I'm getting from this is you want me to kill a rock, then?"
Sparking Outburst: This is weird. Not many cards deal damage to only players and planeswalkers like that. That is because players will usually have creatures, but not planeswalkers. Therefore, this is going to act like a Shock to the face very often. I'm really confused as how much it should cost or about its rarity. Sorcery speed, too? Hm. I feel like putting it at :r: and having it deal damage to a player and one planeswalker they control might be better. Alternatively, you could increase the cost and base damage to a player to something more consistent, like :3::r::r:, 4 damage to the face, 2 to each planeswalker that player controls. 6/10 Will post a response to go with the Outburst's rating soon. I'll get to amechra's stuff right after that. Please, no one post more roleplay stuff involved with this scene until then, alright? EDIT- Rekal addresses Kirino first. "Thank you, miss. I never expect the people that come to hire me to be kind, much less that they'd take a hit for me. I didn't expect that, but I really appreciate it. May I heal you, miss?" He holds up one hand, filled with healing energy.Springtouch Spell Instant Target player gains 5 life. Untap each creature they control. The new season bolstered King Veril's vigour, which, in turn, spread to his fellow elves. They decided they would settle in Laughingwood, at least until the next winter. He then turns to Kaya. "You oughta leave. Now."There! Now everyone can post again here. I *think* gamma3 is supposed to rate both my card and amechra's now, since they're both counters to Sparking Outburst, and that we and amechra are not supposed to rate each other's cards, correct me if I'm wrong.

Neottolemo that sounds right. I believe Lady Mapi gets half valor and score for the assist. "You know Kirino, I was considering doing business with you, but now, I'm not so sure. I'll chalk this up to a mistake, but I'm not one to sit passively by while innocents get hurt. If that mercenary starts anything, I'll be back." Kaya turns and strides off, without another word to Rekal.Amechra's Skew: I have next to no experience with redirection spells, so I really don't know if it's quite costed right. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and call it 8/10. Neottolemo's Springtouch Spell: I think it could either cost more or be uncommon or both, but it's a solid card. 7/10

Tiger Ambush: neat, solid effect, perfectly balanced imo and an excellent way to reply to the challenge (it was a route I didn't see coming). 10/10 "Hah, I didn't think you'd be able to pull that off. korakhos - Rekal avoids the crack initially, but gets caught in it as it spreads. He slips towards the depths for a split second, but manages to climb back up quickly, along with the tigers. "Blimey! I can't fly yet, if that's what you're asking!"Hold On For Dear Life Instant Target creature gets +X/+X, where X is the amount of life you lost this turn, and gains indestructible until end of turn. Quaking Spasm: 4 damage is a lot, let me tell you. WotC are wary to let it happen under four mana. Land destruction is more or less in the same situation. Even given the punisher discount, I feel like this would be better as a sorcery and for . 6.5/10 "Well, can't protect everyone, now, can I? You're welcome to try, you noble-hearted one. Just don't go about ruining my day with your height and your might and your honour, because life is hard enough without them. Leave little old me be, yeah?"Casstastrophe - Sandrigger Frigade: I'm not quite sure if the ability is meant to be a replacement effect that lets you prevent the damage (in which case your card seems to be missing an "instead" at the end of the first ability) or if it's supposed to apply the bonus before the damage is dealt (in which case, I have no idea how to word that and I assume your wording would be correct, but I'd add (before the damage is dealt) in reminder text, just to be sure). I'm assuming you meant to go with the 'before the damage is dealt' version. 8.5/10; it's a good card, but it feels a bit confusing XD Live and Let Live Instant Prevent all damage that would be dealt to or dealt by target blocked creature this turn. Draw a card. @gorgonzola - "To tell you the truth, I don't see how!"Blasting Minion: Annoying dude. "Well, you can rest now, it's over" says Aylin "You do have what it takes to face off against this target." She pulls out a pouch about the size of her fist and reveals it's full of gold coins. "The target I want you to kill is... me!" She makes a small pause for dramatic effect "At most once a day I want you to come at me and try to kill me. If you fail, you can try again the next day. Come at me with beasts, with traps, drop a mountain on my head, make it as violent as you can. My only condition is no coward's way: no poison, no backstabbing, if you're coming for me then do it like a warrior. If you agree, you can have this gold right now in case I don't make it, just let me know how many attempts this can but. Do you accept my deal?"
Hold on for dear Life: I can see this working un a suicide aggro deck, I get the approach you were trying to go for here and the story justifies it but I would've rather seen an "avoid the punishment and respond" like you did with the two previous ones rather than "take the punishment and turn it into an advantage" (but that's just a preference of mine). 8.5/10.

"If I see you on the battlefield, I won't let this go."(point on the Frigate - it is supposed to take effect before the damage is dealt (rather than negating the damage altogether), so that a 5/5 wouldn't kill it if you paid the cost.) Live and Let LiveI like the flavor and it's a neat little cantrip, but I think you might be erring on the side of caution with respect to the cost, seeing as a normal, full-scale fog is just .
