I examine the new blade, noting that it seems to resonate with my other weapons as soon as I take hold of it. Nodding, I draw out one of my other weapons - one of my less used tools, acquired in my travels yet not particularly suited to my own style of combat. "Another fine blade... for the moment I believe these two will be enough, though I may return to browse your wares further in the future."Sentry's Spear Artifact - Equipment Equipped creature gets +1/+2 and has vigilance. Equip Sentry's Spear's equip ability costs less to activate if it targets a creature with defender. "So, it's a deal?" Rixos takes the automatic weapons and the spears, putting them into his pocket. "I'm sure I can make some profit with these."Hire Mercenaries Enchantment Whenever an Equipment enters the battlefield under your control, create a tapped colorless Treasure token with “ , Sacrifice this artifact: Add one mana of any color.” Sacrifice an untapped Treasure you control: Attach target unattached Equipment to target creature. "I give you the money and the weapons, then you do the job."Sentry's Spear: Why would you want vigilance in a creature with defender? Outside of Doran or M19Arcades EDH decks the las line seems useless. And also, it should be written "Equip creature with defender ", like in Blackblade Reforged. I suppose it works as a common, but I personally don't like it. 5/10

Something doesn't feel right here... "Can I ask you where did you got that money? You seem like a nice girl and I would not like to see you getting into trouble for stealing money to buy my things." Rixos looks at Karina with a very serious look in his face.Harsh Response
Instant As an additional cost to cast ~ sacrifice a nonland permanent or pay . Exile target creature. "Dismissed."(If you wanted a land, there you go. Otherwise, bad luck.) Substantial Offer: I like this, but it seems too expensive to me. I believe it's going to lead to more feel-bad moments than to good plays. Anyways, it would need testing. The idea is good so 8/10.

I suppose it works as a common, but I personally don't like it. 5/10 Regarding Sentry's Spear, I templated it after the current oracle text of Ghostfire Blade, which still is written as a cost reduction to the equip ability as opposed to a separate equip ability - specifically because the difference isn't based on a specific typing of the creature it's being equipped to, but a specific quality of that creature. As for Hire Mercenaries, while it's a good card, I'm not seeing the flavor connection. You're not hiring anything with this - you're generating money from equipment, and then using that money to... put the equipment onto creatures? If I opened this card and saw the name, without looking at anything else, I'd be expecting something that could make Soldier or Warrior tokens (or Mercenary tokens if the type was being used in the set). 7/10I nod, and stow the two blades I purchased. "A pleasure doing business with you, Rixos of House Ker. I hope any future transactions will be as profitable for us both." With that, I depart to seek out the detective I'd spoke with earlier... as a seeker of knowledge, he will hopefully be able to tell me more about this New Phyrexia.

It wasn't really a lie, was it? Deceptive Honesty Enchantment Whenever you cast an instant or sorcery spell with no targets, draw a card. "I promise to speak the truth, as much of the truth that serves me, and nothing but the truth." Harsh Response - mechanically the white seems a bit ?? but the flavor on it checks out. This is fine at uncommon and possibly even common since its a Bone Splinters sidegrade. 9/10

I'm just curious."The Truth is a Lie Enchantment Whenever an opponent casts an instant or sorcery spell, you gain 2 life. Whenever an opponent draws a card, except the first card they draw on each of their turns you may pay 2 life. If yo do, draw a card. "Thruth is a relative term."(I promise Rixos is not trying to put Karina in a bad spot, he is just a curious guy). Deceptive Honesty: I'm not sure if this could plainly be "Whenever you cast an instant or sorcery spell, draw a card." but given there is no precedence I think the card is fine. 8/10 You would have gotten a 9/10 if your other card (Substantial Offer) hadn't got targets.

mrlozanoThe air is still. Stiller than dead. Even the wind had decided to screw off and blow in another direction. Every mote of dust seemed to hang in the air where it was, as if being dared to stay still. The reason became apparent soon enough. Crawling from between the floor and the wall, a white, ghostly claw found purchase in the floor, before pulling itself forward, eyes hollow as it looked towards the only living thing in the room. Almost as suddenly as the spirit, another figure, clearly much more living, entered the room, hands in a gesture that indicated it had control over the spirit."The Master would have word with you, merchant."

Rixos jumps a little bit when he sees the spirit and quickly draws a rune with each of his hands, defensive spells. When the second figure enters the room Rixos relaxes a little bit, but without lletting the defensive spells slip."Who is that 'master'? And why does he or she want to talk to me?"
Cautious Merchant Creature - Human Citizen Whenever an opponent sacrifices a permanent put two +1/+1 counters on ~. "Don't trust the devil." 3/3
Ghast Invoker: I like this design. It seems very playable, probably more headed to Constructed than to Limited. Funny thing: I have an Esper Spirits deck in Arena that would definitely play this. 9/10

The spirit that had crawled it's way from underneath the wall straightens up, it's more ghastly form shifting somewhat, becoming more...humanlike? As it's original appearance takes form. The summoner doesn't seem to notice, or if they do, they don't care, walking into the room. "I am the one asking the questions for my master, here," the summoner says, making a slight gesture. The spirit, now far more human, nods, and looks towards Rixos, a look of...forgiveness in it's eyes. Forgiveness of what? "Now. You are a merchant, a seller of exotic wares from both near and far?" {Response Card - Postmortem Invoker} Edit: Accidentally had a 4 CMC card, which Rudara cannot cast at the current time. Cautious Merchant: Definitely an interesting hate card, especially against sacrifice decks (which is what 'devils' would do), but the connect between the suspicion in the counters falls a bit short for me. 8/10

The detective's assistant walked up to Rixos. "Hi, Rixos." she said, rather meekly. "I wanted to apologize for Rolt's behavior earlier - he's... not exactly in the right state of mind." she said. It seemed rather sincere as an apology, but it seemed straight-forward, to the point - there was no allure, no trust like when he last spoke to her.Ominous Apology Instant Each player draws a card, then loses 2 life. "You won't catch me off guard."I pay no life, but kill the two vampires (We are only two players, right?). Ominous Apology: I have a soft spot for multiplayer matters cards and this one seems nice. Even his little security system is no match for me... if not annoying.Persistent Scrutiny: Technically this doesn't affect me, as I don't draw, I put - I'll subtract just 2 from the total because it's an easy mistake to make though. Alms Collector (even though EDH) says the cost is probably fine, and could maybe even be less because no flash. Though it is an enchantment vs a creature so maybe not. 8/10 - 2 = 6/10. On second thought, I'm not sure you really can put, and plus it does break intuition because it is a Brainstorm idea. I'll just subtract 1. 7/10.

mrlozanoSeveral days had passed since the trader Rixos had been visited by two emissaries of an unnamed master. They had technically invaded his home, and had spoke well into the night to come to an agreement, the end result being obvious. He had needed time, and he had gotten it. A slip of paper had found it's way to his desk, indicating two things. One. His time was up. Two. Where to take himself and his goods. The destination fit many of the usual descriptors of place where illicit business was dealt. Underground, dark, but notably dryer than one would expect from being beneath a city. Whoever Rixos was dealing with, they clearly had options. He would not be alone for long, however. Footsteps soon echoed through the halls, not slowing as they grew closer. Four cloaked and covered figures, one taller and towards the rear of the group, rounded a corner, striding boldly into the meeting place, before stopping some distance from Rixos. The figure in the front of the group spoke. "The goods. Show them." It was unfamiliar to him, likely he was dealing with intermediaries different from his guests the other night. {Gift? {Gift? Card - Illicit Intermediaries} Rixos enters the alleys feeling unconfortable. He has experience with dark deals, but that's not his most common work, most of his stuff tends to be legal. Anyways, he has prepared himself for the occasion. He looks normal as always, but there are hidden runes inscribed inside his clothes, in case things go wrong. An well, other "security measures". "You are not the 'master', aren't you? I was hoping they would meet me in person." Rixos takes out of the coat some items. "You know, this was a tough job. People here have no common belief, no big saint, salvatror or prophecy, at least to my knowledge. And I've talked to more than some locals." Rixos looks a the group, clearly feeling uncomfortable, but not scared at all. "Also, the common presence of 'extraordinary individuals' makes it complicated for them to believe in something greater or beyond their reach." Rixos displays more clearly the items he first took out. "Anyways, some city lowborns worship this church. It has no name, only a code of love and equalty. Not something I personally believe on." Rixos shows the most prominent figure an X shaped wood meadllion. "This is their symbol. Other groups have other inclinatons, but before getting in further details let's talk about money. What do you have for me?" Rixos, Hesitant Legendary Planeswalker - Rixos At the beginning of your end step, each player gains control of all permanents they own. : Target creature can't attack or block until your next turn and it's activated abilities can't be activated. : You draw a card and you lose 1 life. Calling aid from Detection Tower to make Illicit Intermediaries lose hexproof. Then, using Rixos' +1 to stop it. First, show me the money. Illicit Intermediaries: Probably Hexproof makes this unfun to play against, but that's not something I care about while evaluating a design, so this card is pretty neat. 9/10, because I'm not sure if not being able to recover what was stolen from you is positive or negative. Would be a 10, but there's nothinf black about the card outside of the flavor.

mrlozano The intermediaries looked to each other, then to the figure in the back, who only gave the slightest of nods. Returning their gaze to their seller, one of the intermediaries uncovered a chest, of a moderate size, and walked forward with it, eyes dead set on Rixos. He stopped between the two groups, placing it on the ground, and slowly opened it, before backing away and returning to his side of the room. Even from here, it was obvious that the chest had been filled with a sizable amount of coinage. On further inspection, Rixos would find most of it was local, while some amount of off-world currency had found its way into the mix. Whoever the master was, they had deep pockets, as it would seem. {Response Card - Tense Exchange} "Will that satisfy you, merchant?" Rixos, Hesitant: While regaining control of permanents you own is precedented in white, it doesn't fit the flavor of black. The other abilities are fine. 8/10
