Dear lord this week was awful. Nothing like a little crunch time at work combined with getting sick to just plain knock you out.

So... yeah. To answers I go.

A few days after the Malextros incident, Hanska receives a visit from Aylin.
"I... I came..." begins the geomancer, struggling to find the words, it's obvious whatever she's about to do next she doesn't do very often "I came to thank you for saving Aiden... I don't know who you are or where you came from, but I don't think he would've made it without your aid..."
I'm stupid, I should be thanking him for saving me, not this random lady for saving him she thinks annoyed.
"Anyhow, that's all" she adds a tiny bit flustered "Don't go telling him I said this, though" she says that last sentence with a stern look meant to replicate the one she gave Hanska when she threatened her, hopefully this will keep her in check.
I never thought trying to be a better person would be this hard she thinks, mentally exhausted from this interaction.

I looked down at the herbs I had been sorting, and sighed. The previous resident had not been careful with their supplies.I reached for my knife, and I cut away the blight.

It travels the forests, devouring the traces left by foolish travelers.

That was it! A second chance at first impressions! I quickly drew on all of my (somewhat lacking) skills as a hostess.

"Oh, don't even mention it! Aiden met with me when I had just arrived here - and even if he hadn't, I couldn't leave him to die." Or let him stay dead, for that matter. I declined to mention it.

"You look awfully tired. I have a pot of water boiling on the stove, and I've been told that I make pretty good tea."

Then I remembered.

"Oh, and I want to apologize. After I left, I could smell that your heart was pounding - and Ylki told me that it started when I put my hand on your shoulder. I don't want to pry, but I'd just like you to know that I won't do it again."

...

Great. The weird lady can smell heartbeats. At least she didn't say that she could taste them...

Mental Unease is a pretty versatile card - it was a headscratcher to come up with a counter for. Either punish someone for drawing too many cards (or for being forced to draw too many cards), or turn that nice hand of cards you've been bleeding for into a boardwipe. It feels fairly costed as well. A 10/10.

A Friendly Visit is pretty nice - it can make you allies in a multiplayer match, boost your teammates, or give yourself some breathing room in a 1-on-1. A 9/10

Wall of Pythons: well, good thing you rated my attack a 10/10 because this is a 10/10 response!

"I'll have to reject the tea" says Aylin coldly "I just came to say what I needed to say, nothing more... And yes, I'd appreciate it if you avoided contact with me, that day I was too weak and tired to do anything about it. Next time you may end up getting hurt..."

Have never had any luck with healers, but who knows, maybe you'll be the one to crack it. Got anything in your bag of tricks for ancient sea demon curses?

Patient Warhawk - I'm not sure the growing effect, combined with the first, is entirely white. I do like it though. 7/10

I snapped back to myself and gave Mei a toothy, fanged grin. "That's actually one of my specialties."

Hanska reaches into her cloak and pulls out a small bag. It has a small crescent moon stitched on the side, and you can feel a certain coolness emanating from it. You briefly see that she's wearing one as well.

Eater of Dreams is a cool card - it'd be a lot less threatening if Ylki didn't focus on poison counters, of course, but it's still a vicious bastard of a card that feels properly vampiric. I do think that it could cost more without being imbalanced, but I guess that's Mythic for you. 8/10



OK. Corpses out of thin air. Disembodied voices. Promises of favors in place of hard money.

I smiled. Just like home.

It was hardly a challenge; the wound was clean (no nasty surprises there, for once), and the death was recent. I was even able to undo her brain damage - that's a rarity, right there. It was all down to all of the metal shoved into her body - the hardest bit was stopping her healing flesh from rejecting it.

I began the delicate healing process.

Hanska shoves her hand into Hana's chest and pulls out something wriggling. Then she stitches her chest closed - within a few seconds, Hana's lungs and heart restart.

Graveyard Snuffler -

When Graveyard Snuffler enters the battlefield, each player may return a permanent card from their graveyard to their hand. Then you may put a land card from your hand onto the battlefield tapped.

Hana Cheyn is a vicious card in a Superfriends deck. And the price feels pretty fair. 9/10.



"Come on in, if you'd like. And I agree - animals tend to be a bit more direct than most people I know. Worse liars, too."

I gestured to my stove.

Diplomat of the Wild is an interesting card - the latest in a long series of 1/1 tramplers that can grow nice and big. As such, I can't really find anything wrong with it. 9/10

Ah, another creature of the night, interesting. I've never met one with quiet so versed in the healing arts.

Or one that carried around their master, she thought to herself.

As Hana and Hanska may try to repair her limbs in one way or another, they seem to be uncooperative.  Things don't cross the way they should, and if she were to get feeling back in them, her pain would be intensified briefly.  It does not make the task impossible, but more difficult.

He takes a sip of the tea.

Poisonwort Root - That might be a little too good? Not entirely sure, but a cheap, big-toughness deathtoucher can be dangerous, even with defender. The sac ability seems fine, though. 7/10

Ah, Oblay. Now a fellow ex-'Destroyer of Worlds!' The thought dripped with sarcasm. I'm afraid most of my knowledge is second-hand. I've never had much reason to stick around this warzone before, so I can't say I've met her in person.

Seems like she was reasonably well liked, made enemies with the wrong people, and, well. I saw the stone, so I'm sure you have.

She was what the suits call a Class 7, a threat on a planar scale. But hey, I used to be one of those too, and last I checked, this place is still standing. Reyhs's current project took a shine to her, or she has an obsession with death, or whatever, wasn't really paying attention during that part.

Of course...if you'd like me to dredge up more...

Strongheart Haltija - Interaction with the vampire is suspect, but this guy's pretty sweet. Maybe a hair too good at drawing green cards tho (as usually this is gonna cantrip and that's already an oof). 8/10

"No thank you, I think that's enough for now. I just wanted to know more about the person whose spice cabinet I'm raiding. Actually..." I gestured over to a bookshelf. "I've been thinking of giving away some of these books and journals. They're a bit... valueless to me."

I hoped that she wouldn't ask why. I suspected that she already knew.

"If you'd like any, you can take some with you. I need the shelf space."

Mei, The Extractor would slot right into one of my mill decks, right next to good ol' Ashiok. I adore the fact that you gave her Haunting Echoes, and made it kinda hard to reach (not that a Tome Scour every turn is anything to sniff at.) A solid 10/10, would mill again.

Lady Mapi — Workshop Assistant: Huh, reminds me of Myrsmith. Seems balanced well enough. 9/10

After what feels like an eternity, Hana rises to her feet. "Thank you for saving me. I'm afraid you'll have to come by the station tomorrow for whatever payment you've been promised—I need to figure out what's going on and avenge my own death before she kills anyone else... and find out who's trying to hack my cybernetics. I'd wager there's a connection there."
