He shook his head. "It's okay. It's been a little bit so I'm used to talking about it by now." he said, smiling still. "Can I help you get home?" Aiden looked at her for a moment after her question and stayed silent. When she put a hand on his arm softly, his spear calmed. He put a hand on top of hers on him. ""No, it's... it's okay. I, um, this is sort of awkward because I didn't want to bring the conversation down much but, I guess I should tell you so I'm not being rude. My family is, uh..." he swallowed. "Well, they're dead." he looked into the distance. The realization hit him again. Dead. "But that's not a story I should tell, I'm sorry, I don't mean to ruin your arrival with my... you know." he said, looking back to her.Redemption Seeker Creature - Human Soldier Whenever ~ enters the battlefield or deals combat damage to a player, you may exile target nonland permanent that player controls until ~ leaves the battlefield. "What it takes is more than words - it takes action. Let us carry on." - Commander Junia of Sunspear3/2 Herald of the Mighty: Ferocious +1/+1 and keyword reminds me of Heir of the Wilds. Should probably be uncommon as this is a static buff with ferocious. 8/10. I looked Aiden dead in the eyes.
"Never apologize for talking about your loved ones, Aiden."I gently laid my other hand on his."I know it isn't my place to say this, but... what you're doing to yourself is unfair to both you and them - you brought them so much happiness in life. Why are you letting them bring you unhappiness in death?" I realized that I had to explain that one."Where I'm from, we believe that the spirits of our dead keep watch over the ones they love. And so we dry off our tears and try to honor them with happiness and great deeds - because no-one wants to see their children or lovers cry."I then realized that I was giving bereavement advice to someone I had literally just met. Old habits die hard, eh?"S-sorry, that was out of line."---Hanska is blushing pretty hard. But for just one moment, you glimpsed something in her eyes... it was probably nothing.Dreamwisp - Creature - Elemental When Dreamwisp leaves the battlefield, exile target creature, then return that card to the battlefield. Evoke 2/2 Redemption Seeker feels really pushed. I really can't find something with a comparable amount of removal potential, especially if you give it double strike. It looks like an 8/10 to me - I would give it a 7/10, but I wouldn't be all that surprised to see Wizards print a card like this these days. Aiden looked back at her eyes as she explained herself roughly 3 times and stared at him dead serious. With his free hand holding the spear, it rattled ever so slightly at the mention of the spirits watching over him. "Umm, well..." she did come off kinda strong, so he took a second to regroup his thoughts. "Okay. You make a fair point." he said. He wanted to tell her, anyone even, anyone who would listen, that it wasn't just that they were dead. It was a combination of everything here, the crazies, the suffering, how far he was from home, unable to do anything about it. But instead he smiled and nodded. "You're right... I should let myself be okay." he said. He agreed with that at least, it was just... much harder than he thought. "And it's- it's okay. I sort of needed that." he said. "Well, I should get going. Good to meet you Hanska." he said, vaguely noticing the blushing. "Thanks for the tea - let's talk again sometime." he said, waving and heading off.Dreamwisp: Nice Flickerwisp variant, though with the options it's kinda tough to cost right. I think you got it right sticking with the original cost though. 9/10.

Dear lord this week was awful. Nothing like a little crunch time at work combined with getting sick to just plain knock you out.
So... yeah. To answers I go.

The crops seem to shake and wither - must have been a harsh winter. I looked down at the herbs I had been sorting, and sighed. The previous resident had not been careful with their supplies.I reached for my knife, and I cut away the blight.Blightdrinker Haltija - Creature - Spirit Beast , : Destroy target artifact or enchantment. If it had any counters on it, put that many +1/+1 counters on Blightdrinker Haltija. It travels the forests, devouring the traces left by foolish travelers.1/1 Ominous Farm might be too good for a land? I'm unsure about that, to be honest. 7/10A few days after the Malextros incident, Hanska receives a visit from Aylin."I... "I need to rest, but I can't! Not until I find the truth!" That was it! A second chance at first impressions! I quickly drew on all of my (somewhat lacking) skills as a hostess.
"Oh, don't even mention it! Aiden met with me when I had just arrived here - and even if he hadn't, I couldn't leave him to die." Or let him stay dead, for that matter. I declined to mention it.
"You look awfully tired. I have a pot of water boiling on the stove, and I've been told that I make pretty good tea."
Then I remembered.
"Oh, and I want to apologize. After I left, I could smell that your heart was pounding - and Ylki told me that it started when I put my hand on your shoulder. I don't want to pry, but I'd just like you to know that I won't do it again."
...
Great. The weird lady can smell heartbeats. At least she didn't say that she could taste them...Wall of Pythons - Creature - Snake Wall Reach, defender Discard a card: Wall of Pythons gets +1/+1 and deathtouch until end of turn. "I don't think I want to go any further. I'm starting to hear the walls hiss."0/4 Mental Unease is a pretty versatile card - it was a headscratcher to come up with a counter for. Either punish someone for drawing too many cards (or for being forced to draw too many cards), or turn that nice hand of cards you've been bleeding for into a boardwipe. It feels fairly costed as well. A 10/10. Chrysoplei makes his way to Hanska's home and knocks on the door. "I believe I've seen you around. Miss Hanska, correct?" A Friendly Visit Instant Target player creates a 2/2 white Knight creature token with vigilance. Another target player gains 5 life. "That's my name - what's yours? Hanska looks confused, but friendly.Patient Warhawk - Creature - Human Cleric Whenever a creature enters the battlefield, that creature's controller gains 1 life. Whenever an opponent gains life, put a +1/+1 counter on Patient Warhawk. Hope for peace, pray for war.2/2 A Friendly Visit is pretty nice - it can make you allies in a multiplayer match, boost your teammates, or give yourself some breathing room in a 1-on-1. A 9/10

A voice floats through Hanska's head. Hey kid, hear you're the new healer in town. The vampire strolls up to the cottage like she owns the place. Have never had any luck with healers, but who knows, maybe you'll be the one to crack it. Got anything in your bag of tricks for ancient sea demon curses? Hanska wouldn't have known how to deal with this kind of thing - myself, on the other hand?

There is something equally massive coiled in Hanska's head, staring calmly and contemptuously at the intruder. You hear a low, dry voice.
"This one is mine."

I smiled. Just like home.
It was hardly a challenge; the wound was clean (no nasty surprises there, for once), and the death was recent. I was even able to undo her brain damage - that's a rarity, right there. It was all down to all of the metal shoved into her body - the hardest bit was stopping her healing flesh from rejecting it.
I began the delicate healing process.
...
Hanska shoves her hand into Hana's chest and pulls out something wriggling. Chrysoplei inhales deeply, taking in the scent of the tea. And gives a smile. "Thank you for your hospitality. I'm afraid I don't have too much to talk about. This was just meant to be a friendly visit." He takes a sip of the tea. Hospitality Creature - Incarnation Lifelink At the beginning of each player's upkeep, that player may gain 2 life. If they do, creatures that player controls can't attack you this turn. 2/4 Poisonwort Root - That might be a little too good? Not entirely sure, but a cheap, big-toughness deathtoucher can be dangerous, even with defender. The sac ability seems fine, though. 7/10

Things don't cross the way they should, and if she were to get feeling back in them, her pain would be intensified briefly. It does not make the task impossible, but more difficult. You shall suffer. Suffer.Ominous Meddling Instant Counter target spell. If a planeswalker spell is countered this way, that spell's controller puts the top two cards of their library into their graveyard. "Do not interrupt me, fool. You will feel my wrath." - disembodied voice(An assist vs. Cyber kinda? It's an attack on both but mechanically I think it's vs. Cyber.) I'm going to grade this as an attack (not that it matters much, because Guest System). I could smell the wrongness - even setting aside the metal limbs, something wasn't right here. I briefly flicked my tongue in irritation, and muttered a little charm to deflect harm.Hedge Shaman - Creature - Human Shaman : Target player adds . If you spend this mana on a permanent spell and it would be countered, return it to its owner's hand instead. 1/1 Ominous Meddling is a pretty decent counter. It is pretty much just Cancel with an upside... but Cancel isn't the strongest spell ever, and that upside is conditional enough that I'll let it pass. An 8/10 for your ominous ledgers. Lady Mapi — Graveyard Snuffler: The cutest piece of graveyard recursion. 10/10Hana's eyes open. "Tim, we—" She looks around. Dr. Arueth is nowhere to be found. She's being tended by... that healer Aiea mentioned. Hanska. She needs to stop Reyhsia. She tries to get up, only to find that her limbs won't respond.ALL SYSTEMS OFFLINE | CORE INTEGRITY 3% Right. Reyhsia stabbed her... Reyhsia killed her. But she's alive again, so some of her plan must have worked. She shakes her head, trying to focus. "Thank you. I need... I need to fix my limbs. I need to stop her."Hana, Broken Deputy Legendary Planeswalker — Hana Whenever an artifact enters the battlefield under your control, put a loyalty counter on Hana, Broken Deputy. : Reveal the top card of your library. If it's an artifact, instant, or sorcery card, draw a card. Otherwise, add and you may put that card into your graveyard. : Return target permanent to its owner's hand. Hana, Broken Deputy deals damage to that permanent's controller equal to its converted mana cost. I helped her with her arms and legs as best as I could - I'll be the first to admit that I'm not the best with machines. Too dead for me. Still, I had functional limbs, so I had to be her hands. I rapidly got her arms to the point where she could fix the rest herself.
You know, I'll admit it - all that metal frightened me a little. Still, I was professional enough to hold my tongue - discussion of alternatives (and payment) could wait.Workshop Assistant - Creature - Human Artificer Whenever you cast an artifact spell, you may pay . If you do, create a 1/1 colorless Servo artifact creature token. "Just show me where this whatsit goes, boss, and I'll do the rest!"1/2 Hana, Broken Deputy is... mmm. Her static ability would be massively broken on pretty much any other walker. Also, I'm not sure about her adding - it'd honestly feel cleaner if it just let you dump your revealed card into your graveyard. An 8/10.

Ah, Oblay. Now a fellow ex-'Destroyer of Worlds!' The thought dripped with sarcasm. I'm afraid most of my knowledge is second-hand. I've never had much reason to stick around this warzone before, so I can't say I've met her in person.
Seems like she was reasonably well liked, made enemies with the wrong people, and, well. I saw the stone, so I'm sure you have.
She was what the suits call a Class 7, a threat on a planar scale. But hey, I used to be one of those too, and last I checked, this place is still standing. Reyhs's current project took a shine to her, or she has an obsession with death, or whatever, wasn't really paying attention during that part.
Of course...if you'd like me to dredge up more...
--- The vampire gives a devious smile. It's probably fine.Mei, the Extractor Legendary Planeswalker - Mei [+1]:Target player puts the top five cards of their library into their graveyard. [-X]: Copy target instant or sorcery card in a graveyard with converted mana cost X or less. Cast the copy without paying its mana cost. [-8]: Exile all cards from target player’s graveyard. For each card exiled this way, search that player’s library for up to three cards with the same name as that card and exile them. Then that player shuffles their library. [3] Strongheart Haltija - Interaction with the vampire is suspect, but this guy's pretty sweet. Maybe a hair too good at drawing green cards tho (as usually this is gonna cantrip and that's already an oof). 8/10

7/10 "Well, I'm glad you came around, Chrisoplei. Chryseplei?" I rolled his name around on my tongue a little - it had a strange feel to it. "What plane are you originally from, if I may ask? I'm having a little bit of trouble saying your name."I blushed slightly - this was somewhat embarrassing.Toxic Advocate - Creature - Vampire Cleric Lifelink At the beginning of each end step, you may pay 2 life. If you do, put a poison counter on target player that wasn't attacked this turn. "The sweetest words hide the deadliest thoughts."2/1 Hospitality is a fun design... however, the temptation not to beat on you really needs to be better. Compare Hospitality to Orzhov Advokist. I'm going to have to give you an 8/10 - the core idea is solid, you just need to buff it a bit.

I just wanted to know more about the person whose spice cabinet I'm raiding. Actually..." I gestured over to a bookshelf. "I've been thinking of giving away some of these books and journals. At the beginning of your upkeep, you may put a land or creature card exiled by Sapmaw Archivist into your hand. Ages upon eons of history bound in seed and sap.2/3 Mei, The Extractor would slot right into one of my mill decks, right next to good ol' Ashiok. I adore the fact that you gave her Haunting Echoes, and made it kinda hard to reach (not that a Tome Scour every turn is anything to sniff at.) A solid 10/10, would mill again.

Reyhs might be interested though, heard her personal library got torched by some crazy kitsune. Can drop some off tonight. And maybe the next time I stop in if they're still here...--- Mei's smile drops a little when she realizes she won't be stealing any more secrets tonight.
i actually have no idea what i'm supposed to already know. hanska you are an enigma. Sapmaw Archivist - Fan. Tastic. wording wise that Whenever should be an If but this card is just awesome. 10/10

Lady Mapi — Workshop Assistant: Huh, reminds me of Myrsmith. Seems balanced well enough. 9/10After what feels like an eternity, Hana rises to her feet. "Thank you for saving me. I'm afraid you'll have to come by the station tomorrow for whatever payment you've been promised—I need to figure out what's going on and avenge my own death before she kills anyone else... and find out who's trying to hack my cybernetics. I'd wager there's a connection there."

"I come from a plane known as Aelatal, but from what I have gathered, it is a rather untravelled plane by many planeswalkers. From how I've described it in the past, I've been told it's similar to the planes Theros and Zendikar though." Chrysoplei explains. "While we're on this thought process, where are you from?" Soul of Aelatal Legendary Creature - Avatar Beasts, Elementals and Nymphs you control get +1/+1 and have hexproof. , : Create a tapped 2/2 blue Nymph creature token. , Exile ~ from your graveyard: For each Beast, Elemental and Nymph you control, create a token that's a copy of it except it has base power and toughness 2/2. 3/3 (I'm aware it doesn't fit the current Worldsoul cycle, but hey.) Toxic Advocate - The each end step thing may be a bit much? Not entirely sure though. 8/10
