UP: Isn't that just a modal spell between a 2/3 flyer or a Cunning Wish? Furthermore, the main ability of Kor Skyfisher, which bounces one of your things, is ignored. I don't mean to be rude, but there are better ways to combine the two cards.

UP: I really like that mix of the two abilities. The second ability not having to tap is great, but i do wish it could only get creatures. 9/10 Next: Riding the Dilu Horse & Conclave Phalanx (I don't know how to link cards by name.)

Up: Since you can opt to pay , doing so should make it a bit more expansive I think. Having said that, unless I'm playing black, your card looks really frustrating to play against. Capsize frustrating. I really hate Capsize. You can make card links by writing [ card]CARDNAME[/card] Ride for the Conclave Enchantment - Aura Convoke (Your creatures can help cast this spell. Each creature you tap while casting this spell pays for 1 or one mana of that creature’s color.)Enchant creature Enchanted creature gets +1/+1 for each creature you control and gains lifelink and horsemanship. Next: Urborg Volcano + Varchild's Crusader

Up: That's a cool pay-off tbh. I like it. Fumigating Firecone Land CARDNAME enters the battlefield tapped. : Add or . , Sacrifice CARDNAME: Destroy target creature with defender. Next: Forgotten Ancient and Fiery Hellhound

Post by gateways7 on Aug 7, 2018 2:05:56 GMT
UP: This doesn't feel like it has to do with the Crusader, because the crusader has an ability that makes it unblockable to everything except Walls, while the land only hits lands.

Up: Sweet card. I can see elements of both the requirements pretty easily and it'd be fun to play.
Halam Coup Sorcery Create X 1/1 red and white Soldier creature tokens. Then, if red is the most common color among permanents or tied for the most common, tap those creatures.

Up: Since the tokens are both red and white, maybe it should check for white permanents too. Also, the tapping seems less impactful is the tokens won’t be attacking anyway.
Fae Stinger UB Creature — Faerie Rogue Flying When Fae Stinger enters the battlefield, it deals 1 damage to target creature and 1 damage to target player or planeswalker. 1/1
Next: Desolation Angel + Swift Justice

Post by Jartis on Oct 1, 2018 21:48:09 GMT
Up: Not really sure where the damage to player or planeswalker comes from, but the rest of the card works nicely. Desperation Sorcery Kicker Destroy all lands you control. If Desperation was kicked, destroy all lands instead. Until end of turn, target creature gets +1/+0 for each land destroyed this way. Next: Wall of Stone + Elixir of Immortality

Up: This feels more red than white on the front end. I'd also wager you can switch the kicker and regular costs around. Still, cool. Eternal Wall Creature - Wall Defender When CARDNAME dies, shuffle it and your graveyard into your library and you gain 5 life. 0/8 Next: Hammerhand and Rekindled Flame

Up: Great control card. Well done.
Flaming Hammer R Enchantment — Aura Enchant creature Enchanted creature gets +1/+1 and has haste. Discard a card: return Flaming Hammer to its owner’s hand.
I know the return condition isn’t the same, but it’s close.
Next: Bloodfell Caves and Whispering Snitch

Up: Nice and simple aura. Sure has it's uses. I think it could also be used to combo in some way. You can write mana symbols by puting them between double colons (: :R:: turns into ). You can link to cards by putting them between [ca rd]Whispering Snitch[/card]. More on this here. Whispering Caves Land Whispering Caves enters the battlefield tapped. When Whispering Caves enters the battlefield, surveil 1. If you don’t put a card into a graveyard this way, you gain 1 life. : Add . Next: Scab-Clan Giant + Gloryscale Viashino

Up: The wording on the second half of the ability seems a bit off, but I think it's easy enough to understand. Good job combining a land and a creature, I'd been trying to wrap my head around what to do with that. XD Overgrown Viashino Creature - Giant Viashino Whenever you cast a multicolored spell, Overgrown Viashino fights target creature an opponent controls chosen at random. “I’d hate to see the thing that left this skin behind.” — Overheard last words of an unknown soldier.4/5 Next: Regress + Vivid Grove

Up: Good combination. My one concern is that it might discourage you from playing multiple multicolored spells in the same turn. Flo00: Thanks for the advice. EDIT: ...However, it doesn’t seem to be working. I’m on my phone- could that be the problem? EDIT2: I’m trying augur’s workaround from the Miscellaneous Card Design thread Vibrant Falls Land Vibrant Falls enters the battlefield with two charge counters on it. , remove a charge counter from ~: Add one mana of any color. , , sacrifice ~: Return target nonland permanent tsk it’s owner’s hand. Next: Crystal Shard + Sylvan Advocate

Up: Moving from bounce to counter is a bit off. But I like how the cheapening works. Flourished Cliff Land As Flourished Cliff enters the battlefield, any player may have Flourished Cliff deal 1 damage to him or her. If anyone does, Flourished Cliff enters the battlefield tapped. : Add or . I call this a reverse shockland. I don't know if it would be too strong to give it basic land types. I argue the ability is weaker than a shockland because you give the opponent the control over how it enters. EDIT: After some advice from a friend, I lowered the damage to 1. Next: Lumberknot + Swamp. Hm. How about taking (rendomize for a new card...) Cobblebrute instead of the Swamp? ... I think this just didn't get better.

Up: Like the ‘reverse shockland’ idea. Also reminds me a bit of Grove of the Burnwillows. Charnelbrute Creature — Elemental Whenever another creature dies, Charnelbrute gets +1/+0 until end of turn. 4/2 Next: Shatter + Siren Lookout

UP: Wish you'd given the rarity, because otherwise I really like that you took all three cards and turned it into a simple useful design. Shatterscream Thief Creature - Elemental Rogue Haste When Siren Lookout enters the battlefield, you may destroy target artifact. If you don't, put a +1/+1 counter on Shatterscream Thief. 1/2 Next: Plains and Thorn Lieutenant...you know, one of these days, I'd like to see a basic land actually have to get combined with a card that cared about lands of a specific type. Your alternate card is Urza's Tower.

Up: The card text still says Siren Lookout Other than that, fun card. It's bit of a pitty, that it can't get a counter if no artifact is on the battlefield. Maybe make it "up to one target artifact". (I'm still not sure is that would work.) I took the Plains, but named it after the tower: Tower Lieutenant Creature - Human Warrior Whenever Tower Lieutenant becomes the target of a spell or ability an opponent controls, create a Plains land token. (It has “: Add to your mana pool.): Tower Lieutenant gets +4/+4 until end of turn. 2/3 Next: Wet Willie of the Damned + Mountain. Ugh, another basic land. Take Ethereal Haze instead if you want.

That pump ability doesn't really feel white (+4/+4 is too large for white, +2/+2 and a keyword or something would feel more in color), and neither does creating land tokens as a defensive measure, really. This just still feels very green...
Instant Punish the Damned deals 2 damage to target creature and you gain 2 life. Prevent all damage that would be dealt by other creatures controlled by the same player this turn.

Up: Very good combination of the two (plus that red mana in there for the Mountain). Looks powerful but not overpowered. Cultivator of the Wilds Creature — Elf Druid Whenever a land enters the battlefield tapped under your control, put a +1/+1 counter on each creature you control. 3/4 Next: Mountain + Path to ExileIf you don’t want to use the Mountain, use Temper instead (Is there a way to link Temper so it won’t show Tempered Steel or Fiery Temper?) ZephyrPhantom: Now rare, with a small toughness boost

(Is there a way to link Temper so it won’t show Tempered Steel or Fiery Temper?) You'd probably just have to directly link the card, since the [ card ] tag relies on being able to search by name. UP: I really like this design. It incentivizes you to try and play multicolor ETB tapped lands in lategame and while it might be difficult to work with I think that's part of the Johnny charm of the card. Needs a rarity, though. Tempered Reversal Instant The next time a source of your choice would deal damage to you this turn, prevent that damage. If damage is prevented this way, you may exile target attacking creature. Next: Mountain and ParchMan, Basic Lands are haunting this game a lot lately lol. You alternative card is Taste for Mayhem

Honestly, i'm a huge fan "the next time" effects Dried Mountain Land If you cast a blue spell, you gain life equal to its converted mana cost until end of turn.

Up: Doesn't feel like an adequately red pay-off, and lands that don't produce mana are weird in a bad way. Still, was a hard muddle, but the design's quite the miss. Living Proof Sorcery Investigate. Then, up to three target Clues you control become 3/3 Elemental creatures with flying. They're still Clues. Next: Winds of Change + Servant of Nefarox

Up: Great combination. I like how you kept the 3 clues bit, and I think it’s good while not being overpowered. Servant of Change Creature — Human Shaman Whenever Servant of Change attacks alone, each player shuffles their hand into their library, then draws that many cards. 3/1 Next: Etali, Primal Storm + Ankle Shanker

Up: Really fun card. I'd like to play this in Nekusar. Anali, Primal Strike Legendary Creature - Goblin Berserker Whenever Anali, Primal Strike attacks, exile the top card of each player’s library, then for each card exiled this way, you may cast it without paying its mana cost. When you don’t, you may have target creature gain first strike and deathtouch. 2/2 Next: Imperial Mask + Mages' ContestNow I'm curious.

Up: I like the card although it definitely feels as if it should have some red or blue in it with the Etali ability.
I've always hated the cards in other games that use a bidding structure like Mages' contest, there is too much power in attempting to up the cost (too much silent auction and not enough poker bidding). So I modified it. Used the flagbearer concept to make you partially hexproof while giving each player an army if they have enough life.
This was going to be wordy no matter what, hopefull I didn't go overboard.

UP: Huh, I actually think this would make it into a Commander product if the bids were changed to "Each player may pay any amount of life. The player that bid the most <foo>. Each other player <foo>.", where <foo> is the respective token generators. Really like that everyone gets tokens but the winning players are better, making it a very interesting consideration in the right circumstances in group hug. That said this card is not without a particularly notable shortcoming - the tokens are all 0/1. I think that's not great in this case because unless you're running something like Prossh tokens (who interestingly enough, is probably the only case where you want to lose the bid in this card) or a lot of sac outlets there isn't a lot of incentive for most other players to pay in and get tokens. Making both the Flagbearers and Kobolds spawned 1/1s would make this much more interesting in my opinion - compare Alliance of Arms. Post tweaks, though, I wish I had an EDH deck this could go in. Silencing Chant Sorcery Return all artifacts and enchantments target player controls to their owner's hand. That player can't play artifact or enchantment spells until the beginning of their next upkeep. Was debating whether to make this Simic, Bant, or Azorius, but ultimately went for the last one due to the Silence-type effect. Next: Borderland Explorer + Emissary's Ploy. Have fun!
