During a stay on MTG Salvation, I found a few fun forum games this forum doesn't have. I decided to port some of them over, this one included. (Original game devised by MTG Salvation user meteo63 here.)
Shift the Card works on a post-by-post basis like other similar games here; each player comments on the card above, posts a card that meets the specifications given by the previous poster, then sets a challenge for the next one that demands doing one of the following to an existing MTG card:
1) Timeshift: Make a brand-new card that refers or alludes to the previous. Example: Verdant Embrace which refers to the Embrace cycle from Urza's Saga and Verdant Force.
2) Planeshift: Make a copy of the previous card, except in a new color and with new flavor. Be sure to include flavor text. The copy doesn't need to be exactly to the latter, as long as it produces the same or a very similar end result. Examples: Piracy Charm, shifted from Funeral Swarm; Calciderm, shifted from Blastoderm.
4) Futureshift: Make a card that's a reference to the previous card but shifted forward in time, either flavourfully (as an offspring of a person or otherwise a representation of the passage of much time) or mechanically (similarly to the unique and hitherto unseen cards of Future Sight).

A mingling of Scarblade with our unfortunate ladies from Ravnica. Mana cost is perhaps a little skewed, but I think it came out okay. It combines the effect and tapping requirement of Scarblade with the 1 CMC and sacrifice requirement of a Rusalka, hearkening back to another cycle of cool cards while keeping the flavor of Scarblade. Also, since you'd want to play her in an Elf deck, I like the flavor of her murdering other Elves in order to use her powers. My suggestion for a challenge: Create an alternate version of Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobyte in any nonwhite color.

My only criticism of your card is that in an Elf-heavy deck, it’s basically a free Murder every turn. Tapping the Rusalka helps, but this can easily give -7/-7 or higher with very little impact on your board. Power level aside, adding the flavor of the Rusalka is a great idea, and giving Elf decks something to do with their Elves once they have all the mana they need is an interesting approach. My entry: Norn, Compleating Fire 5BR Legendary Creature — Praetor Infect Menace When Norn, Compleating Fire enters the battlefield, it deals 2 damage to each creature you don’t control. Whenever Norn attacks, other creatures you control get +2/+0 until end of turn 6/6 Next challenge: Design a Planeshifted version of Smoke: scryfall.com/card/me4/137/smoke

EDIT: Didn't see the requirement for Ups so here they are Norn, Compleating Fire, likes the comes into play ability & Menace for Red, Infect on a 6/6 seems a little powerful especially considering the the comes into play ability will add -1/-1 counters rather than dealing 2 damage in additional to the 6 poison counters. I'd probably drop the black change it to 5 and drop the infect and keep the resulting.

White is the choice here.
General Nebuzaradan 3UB Creature — Human Soldier X, T: Choose a card name. Target opponent reveals the top X cards of their library, then you may cast a spell with the chosen name from among them. That player puts the remaining cards onto the bottom of their library in a random order. 3/3
Next challenge: Timeshift Brainstorm

Brainstorm merged with Future Sight. Hopefully the wording's alright on this one. Next challenge: Futureshift Grave Titan. Remember, futureshifting doesn't necessarily need to be offspring, just some far-off future design that references it.

Up: I think the last ability may want rewording to replace what you do in your draw step rather than just skipping it outright, but this is a reasonable twist on Future Sight, and seems like it could set up some fun Big Turns by stacking cheap spells you can chain together.] Have a really bad idea. Salvage is a variant of archive, a keyword by HerziQuerzi which does the same with the top N cards of your library. I'll spare you the full rulings for extra libraries here, but, basically, if you do anything to a library (including drawing cards), you can choose any of the libraries you currently have as the thing happens, so bear in mind that you can draw the top card of the Misbegotten's salvaged library instead of drawing from the top of your main library, search it with tutor effects (and thus shuffle it afterwards), etcetera. The entire library is face up except while it's being shuffled, so you can see the order just fine. Sacrificing the Misbegotten when the library's empty is a state-based action. Next, timeshift Kitchen Finks.

Ooh, Bloodforge is a very, very interesting card. There's just so many ways you can make use of a second deck - I didn't even know Magic had rules for multiple libraries! This does seem like it'd be more restricted to Zombie tribal however. Is the Salvage ability an additional cost? Can you cast it if you only have three Zombies in grave, and accept that it'll have a shorter lifespan, or are all six necessary? Pardon me if I'm taking up too many of these challenges, but here's my idea for the Kitchen Finks challenge: I tried mingling Finks with one of my favorite cards, Lingering Souls, to produce a card that can provide a similar effect to the good old Ouphes, chump blocking and gaining life. This combination offers the same amount of life, but requires more mana investment, though it offers more chump blocks. For the next challenge, let's get creative. What if the life of Magic's poster boy had taken a radically different turn? Design an alternate version of Jace Beleren (the original Jace). You may use any nonblue color. Ideally, the new card should still feel "Jacelike" - he won't be blue, but he probably shouldn't turn into an out-and-out street brawler who knocks down walls with his muscular body. He should still be somewhat subtle or indirect, insofar as the chosen color allows for that. Tutoring, pumping, creature theft? That's for you to decide!

theunderscore - Just for clarity's sake I'm pretty sure the extra libraries rulings was made by the designers in question to accommodate for it (which is what usually happens when a designer needs to make a game altering concept like that). Up: A decently powerful Uncommon with a lot of potential. May not be as good as the cards that inspired it but probably would have a solid showing in a Standard format. In which Jace never had a spark, but got sick of being just another pawn in Alhammarret's orchestrated 'war' anyway: Jace, Ring-Sector Kingpin Legendary Creature - Human Wizard Menace, haste Whenever Jace, Ring-Sector Kingpin deals combat damage to a player, that player exiles the top two cards of their library. You may cast nonland cards from among them for as long as they remain exiled, and you may spend mana as though it were mana of any type to cast those spells. 2/2 "If you don't answer to me today, you will tomorrow."Next: Let's revisit that 'just kidding' from earlier, shall we? Planeshift (and fix) Melting.

Up: For what's basically " can't be paid", I'm not sure if it should be CMC2 and a less interactable permanent type than creature.
Sorcery Search your library for a card with converted mana cost 0, reveal it, and put it into your hand. Repeat this process, increasing the converted mana cost by 1 each time, until you don't reveal a card this way. Then shuffle your library and put Seasons to Come on the bottom of it.

I really like the fact that you turned it into a black tutor effect. Could this be worded "search your library for any number of cards with different converted mana costs" or "up to five cards with different converted mana costs"? Yet another attempt to blend two effects into one. Admittedly, it doesn't have exactly the same effect, but it's comparable. More mana, but putting the enchantment directly into play (also an obvious reference to Academy Rector). Next: planeshift Blazing Archon.

Up: I'm always a fan of ways to get enchantments back, is my white-player flag showing?? Nevertheless it's definitely within the flavor already set and a nice little update to the mechanic for its rarity. Blazing Archon Creature - Archon Flying When a creature attacks you, Blazing Archon deals 1 damage to that creature or 1 damage to that creature’s controller. “It rode into the depths of battle, heedless of the danger. As it passed, eyes turned red and everyone burned, those who survived fought harder.”5/6 {Render} Next up: Alternate: Blood FunnelBrings us back to Ravnica in anticipation of the release this weekend.

Hopefully this one captures a similar drawback to the original. Next challenge: Futureshift Dragonlord Silumgar.

Up: I think this is a good way to blue-ify a card that kind of has a blue vibe (with the noncreature spells matter and the countering.) The drawback works well, and actually could be used as an upside in the right deck, which is a good way to design the card. For my card, I decided to try and make a more futuristic version of the card mechanically instead of doing a future version of Silumgar flavorfully. Next: Create a alternate Oona, Queen of the Fae.

Up: I love that this card just builds on itself and keeps gaining new abilities, though if it goes on too long I'm sure it would get hard to keep track of everything it has stolen. As I'm sure most of you are aware of the Fae Courts, Oona clearly strikes me as Winter Court, so I decided to make a Summer Court version. Next: Timeshift Thieves' Auction

EDIT: Missed requirement of the Ups so here it is Oona, Nature's Passion - like the concept flavor of summer court, card is true to color and flavor as an alternate. Ability might be a little powerful as a board clearer I'd be more inclined to make it a single target, given that there isn't any requirement you could funnel multiple mana into it like a fireball which is still really potent.
To make this one - started with a word - the word felt Unglued - for an Unglued card needed something outside the current rules so found an ability - tied it all together. Next it is time to create an alternate for one of the original blue killers Ophidian

I don’t think they let even silver-border permanently take your opponent’s cards, but the card does play well with Thieves’ Auction, if anything can really play well with it.
Bitterfang Slitherer 2BB Creature — Snake Whenever Bitterfang Slitherer attacks and isn’t blocked, reveal the top card of your library. Defending player may choose to put that card into your hand. If they don’t, Bitterfang Slitherer gets +X/+0 until end of turn, where X is that card’s converted mana cost. 0/3
Next: Design an alternate Balance

Up: Nice alternate, i can see that in red too. Kilter Sorcery Each player chooses a number of creatures they control equal to the number of creatures controlled by the player who controls the fewest, then sacrifices the rest. Players discard cards at random and loses life the same way. Next: futureshift Gabriel Angelfire.

A kind-of-there reference to Opal Avenger, but this time, rather than getting you a decent creature, it equalises the life totals! (probably). Next challenge: timeshift Doubling Season.

Up: Simple, clean, and just as potentially self-harming as black tends to be. Nice. For this one I wanted to do something white, since it's the other primary token generator. But where green is about growth in nature, white tends to be about growth in civilization, so I tried to play off that and incorporate some small tribal elements. Next: Alternate Choice of Damnations

Up: I like the Citizen theme. It works especially well since there are very few Citizens, so you’re using your tokens to put counters on other tokens. It also stops you from getting double Angels, Wurms, or Mitotic Slime tokens while still being fun in token decks.
Choice of Conflagrations 4RR Sorcery Target opponent chooses a number, then choose one: * Choice of Conflagrations deals X damage to each player, where X is the chosen number. * Each player exiles the top X cards of their library, where X is the chosen number. Players can play cards exiled this exiled this way until the end of your next turn.

Up: It's an interesting design space. I'm not sure I feel I can comment on its feasibility of a card, but it's a very creative idea that ties in with one of the strangest (and yet one of my most favorite) magic cards. Next: Timeshift Ancient Tomb Unsealed TombLand : Add . : Add one mana of any color. Unsealed Tomb deals 2 damage to you. "What was forgotten, the Kingdom ofthe Dead remembers."{Render} Futureshift: Toshiro Umezawa

Figure of Ambition 2B Creature — Human 2B: Target creature gets -1/-1 until end of turn. Figure of Ambition becomes a Rogue in addition to its other types. 2BB: If Figure of Ambition is a Rogue, target creature gets -3/-3 until end of turn and ~ becomes an Assassin in addition to its other types. 2BBB: If Figure of Ambition is an Assassin, destroy target creature and put three +1/+1 counters on ~. 1/4
