Up: probably good in dual-color decks. Futureshift + Classicshift Sacrifice (classicshift: render must be in old style)

Up: probably good in dual-color decks. Futureshift + Classicshift Sacrifice (classicshift: render must be in old style) First off, I don't think you can just make up new shifts like that, and a challenge that only involves the type of render you use just feels pretty boring anyway. Secondly, deathtouch probably doesn't do much on that card during midgame on a 4/4, but it's good as a form of pseudoevasion later on, so, it's fine on it. The madness discount, however, does not feel particularly significant here compared to the hoop you need to jump through.
EDIT - My card now has artist credit. Sorry I missed it.

Up- Boneyard Offering: Interesting take. Reminds me of Songs of the Damned more than sacrifice though. Up- Eternal Tribute: This will be hard to keep track of, but leads to very interesting tension. Do you exile an expensive creature and take 6 every turn? It’s probably too good at instant speed. As for my card- Challenge Accepted! Gabriel Shadowflame Legendary Creature — Demon Whenever you surveil, choose one: *Gabriel Shadowflame deals 2 damage to each opponent *~ gets +1/+1 and gains lifelink until end of turn *~ can’t be blocked this turn *Draw a card 6/6 Next: Let’s see what our pals the Grizzly Bears could be in the Future(shift)

Up: It costs less, with more P/T and an arguably much better ability. Probably a bit strong, but I don't hate the concept. Grizzled Barrens Land : Add or , : Create a 2/2 green Bear creature token. Though the land has been ravaged, you can still find its inhabitants if you know where to look.Next: Futureshift Homarid

Up: Aside from being a strictly better basic land (and better than Alpha duals under many circumstances), that's far too cheap a token creation ability to go on a land. More often you're looking at five mana or so for a 1/1. Kastarid Surgemaster Creature - Homarid Shaman Whenever you play a land, put a +1/+1 counter on Kastarid Surgemaster. Whenever an opponent plays a land, remove a +1/+1 counter from Kastarid Surgemaster. 2/2Next challenge: Timeshift Cabal Therapy.

Up: Clever implementation of the Homarid changing, but in a way you can use to your advantage. Shrink, Cabal Therapist Legendary Creature — Human Cleric , sacrifice a creature: Choose a nonland card name, then target opponent may sacrifice a creature. If they don’t, they reveal their hand and discard a card with that name. ”And how does that make you feel?”3/3 Next: Alternate Maro

Up: I think this might be a bit weak actually - the choice given to the opponent means this ability is actually not that strong? I might be underestimating, though. Orma Creature - Elemental Haste Whenever CARDNAME attacks, it has base power and toughness X/X until end of turn, where X is the number of cards in defending player's hand. No two people die to the same orma. 2/2 Next: Alternate Talrand, Sky Summoner

Up: A wonderful inversion of the effect and a nice take on red's occasional ability to punish an opponent for holding onto cards. Kishath, Rootcaller Legendary Creature - Elf Wizard Whenever you cast a permanent spell, create a 0/4 green Wall creature token with defender. “The skies hold nothing and the seas shift. Only the land stands firm.”2/2 Next: Timeshift Lazav, the Multifarious

Up: Looks balanced, but can get out of hand very quickly. Also seems like a white token. I like how it mirrors Talrand. Multifarious Manipulation Enchantment — Aura Enchant creature When Multifarious Manipulation enters the battlefield, surveil 2, then choose target creature or target creature card in a graveyard. Enchanted creature is a copy of the chosen creature. Next: Alternate Etrata, the Silencer

Only comment would to maybe make surveil 1 and just target your graveyard to more closely mirror the card it is referencing. Next: Timeshift Living Wall

Up: Very interesting, but useless if you’re not playing . Flavorfully fits, especially the art, but mechanically less so. Morale Boost Instant Target creature you control gets +2/+2 until end of turn. If that creature has banding, you gain 20 life. Next: Timeshift Atogatog

Even as a futureshift, 20 life for one mana with no drawbacks is pretty ridiculous. I assumed putting cards with banding in your deck was he drawback. Probably still should have been less though.

But the cards with banding are, and the cards that give banding are even worse (I think. I’m not pretending to know how banding works). The drawback is that in order to gain the life, you need to have banding in your deck. Again, it probably should be less life.

gluestick248 : I recommend building a banding deck and playing it in casual, the ability was actually very potent and if it had continued to be printed might be a little overpowered given the turn that aggro has taken since the Modern card face. The banding ability in a nutshell is a group of creatures are banded together as a single attacking unit and they must attack the same target and are blocked by the same target (there are restrictions on what can be in this group), this is the cost of the ability (aka the negative). The positive of the ability is that the attacker chooses how damage is distributed amongst the banded group. One of the original tricks was to include a creature with protection from in a banded group effectively making them indestructible during combat, a no brainer nowadays would be mixing them with Beloved Chaplain. The ability is also quite fun when mixed with non-evasion combat abilities. The drawbacks to Banding is that there were few creatures with the ability making it only a minor aspect in most casual Highlander formats (not enough cards to draw from). Other than that it is only legal in the Eternal Formats which tend to play so fast that the ability is too weak (as are almost all abilities in that format). Up: Atagatogatog, seems like there might be some tongue in cheek in this perhaps it should be silver-bordered. I like it though.
Next: Alternate Martyr of Frost

Up: Probably a bit stronger than the Behemoth, since it has an extra ability, but I guess it might balance out against making all your lands produce mana of any color. Not really sure there's an easy way to compare that. Martyr of Decay Creature - Human Wizard , Reveal X black cards from your hand, Sacrifice Martyr of Decay: Destroy target creature unless its controller pays X life. 1/1 Next: Futureshift Kari Zev, Skyship Raider

Up: Great take on the Martyr cycle. “Unless they pay ” is usually a counterspell thing, but I think there’s room for it in other places. Kari Zev, Renegade Hero Legendary Creature — Human Pirate Whenever a creature you control attacks, create a red 1/1 Monkey creature token that’s tapped and attacking. For each of those tokens, exile it at end of turn unless you pay . 3/3 Next: Alternate Adaptive Automaton

Double posting here to try to get this started up again. Jack-of-All-Trades Creature — Human As Jack-of-All-Trades enters the battlefield, choose a creature type. ~ is that type in addition to its other types. Other Human creatures you control that share a non-Human creature type with ~ get +1/+1 and have vigilance 2/3 Next: Timeshift Giant Growth

Let’s try to get this started back up Up: I’m not sure why Bolting yourself is worth the second , and this could be printed now (see Char) Goblin Party Enchantment At the beginning of your upkeep, choose one you haven’t chosen yet — * Exile the top two cards of your library. You may play them this turn. * Create 2 1/1 red Goblin creature tokens. * Goblin Party deals 2 damage to each creature. * Exile Goblin Party, then return it to the battlefield under the control of a random opponent. Next: Let’s see an alternate Feather, the Redeemed

Up: Excellent rendition of the Pact. Only thing that could be better perhaps is the fact that it's a little restrictive in that I don't want to make tokens and then deal them damage next turn.
Legendary Creature - Treefolk
Reach
If you would put one or more counters on a creature you control, put that many plus one counters of that type on it instead. 3/4

Up: Hardened Scales on a Commander seems deece. Nothing too crazy going on, but I like it a lot. Cindercleave Legendary Artifact — Equipment Flash This spell costs less for each creature you control that died this turn. When Cindercleave enters the battlefield, attach it to target creature you control. Equipped creature gets +1/+1 and has menace and deathtouch Equip Next: Timeshift Merfolk of the Pearl Trident

Up: Honestly I like this more than Embercleave, it's more interactive while still potentially giving a tempo advantage with a punishing back-swing if the opponent over commits. 10/10 Not much to work with here so I'll have to draw some inspiration from the flavor of earlier printings... Up: Neat flavor text! Wonder if this is too cheap for something that does a really good job shutting down a bunch of decks, though? Might price it at somewhere around 4 CMC. Arcane Plots Enchantment , Exile an instant or sorcery card from your graveyard: Create a 1/1 blue Elemental creature token. Sacrifice two Elementals: Scry 2, then draw a card. "Yes, I assure you there's nothing cruel about it. Despite the smiles on their watery faces, I promise you, elementals do not feel pain when sacrificed." -Lutria, Court Archmage Next: Futureshift Azra Bladeseeker.

Up: Yeah totally good card, perfectly shifted to blue. To me that Lutria character definitely has some sort of ulterior motive. Azra Challenge Seeker Creature - Azra Warrior When ~ enters the battlefield, each opponent may discard a card. Each opponent who discarded a card this way draws a card. ~ deals 2 damage to each opponent who didn't discard a card this way. "Never get too attached to an adversary. You must allow a better one to find its way to you." 4/4 Presumed set this would be for is an Archenemy-like product that has new cards. Next: Alternate Simic Ascendancy
