Story
Rwaffan was a sigiled knight of Bant. Proud and abnegated, he served his nation in times of peace and war. However, everything changed after the Conflux. Rwaffan was sent alongside an aven army to defeat a dragon from Jund that had been terrorizing some villages, and in trying to do so, his left wing was hurt, the bones breaking and rendering it useless. He was soon captured by a Nacatl tribe and made a prisoner. At first, Rwaffan patiently waited for his people to rescue him, but as days turned to weeks and weeks turned to months, he realized he was all alone, and began despising his former people, renouncing his sigils. As time went by, he proved to be an asset to the tribe that held him hostage, and he eventually was accepted among them, training under their harsh leader Camata until he developed combat abilities he never thought himself capable of. One day, while on the hunt of a baloth that was roaming the tribe, Rwaffan tripped and fell from a tree. His landing would put him right in front of the baloth's path. Not wanting to be trampled to death, he instinctively opened his wings and, even though he didn't receive proper care when he injured his left one and therefore it never healed, he was able to keep himself in the air long enough to only get hit by the baloth's side. He was sent flying away, but the pain from using his broken wing and the adrenaline rush of the whole situation triggered his spark. He was shot into the Blind Eternities and landed in the Arena... FORMER CHARACTERS:
Aylin "I don't do boring." Colors: (2 points) CMC Level: 15 (15 points) Type Mastery: Land, Instant, Sorcery (3 Points) Multicolor Level: 1 Advanced Keywords: None Perks: Rarity Upgrader (1 point) Available Skill Points: None Current Valor: 388 points Total Valor: 1788 points Can Call Aid From: Magic 2010-2015, 2019/Magic Origins/Shadows Over Innistrad/New Phyrexia/Amonkhet/Hour of Devastation/The Dark (150V bonus) (70/75 Mana Available)
Story Not much is known about Aylin's past, for she is pretty vague about it. Her ascension was caused by a traumatic event and, whenever she's asked about it, she either lies or beats up whoever was stupid enough to bring up the subject. She roams the Multiverse wanting to keep her mind busy so she can leave her past behind her. She's usually reserved and hostile, wanting people to challenge her at every second, and she fights for whatever cause she finds more entertaining, without caring about good or evil. Her powers include shaping earth, sand and stone to her will (which she uses both offensively and defensively) and superhuman strength (she can punch several holes into a mountain before she starts feeling any form of pain).
Highest Rated Cards Sorcery Damage can't be prevented this turn. ~ deals 5 damage to target creature. "And that's just a warmup" -Aylin, the Geomancer
Incite Revolution Instant Until end of turn, target creature gets +3/+0, gains haste, and can't attack you or a planeswalker you control. Every revolution begins with a spark, and some people are walking bonfires.
Instant Until end of turn, whenever you discard a card, target opponent discards a card. Until end of turn, whenever you lose life, target opponent loses that much life. Those who bring back Aylin's traumatic past usually suffer the physical consequences of her rage.
Instant Players can't gain life this turn. Until end of turn, creatures you control gain "When this creature dies, it deals 1 damage to each opponent." "If I'm going out, I'm going out with a blast."

And I don't need your charity. "That depends, have an offer that calls my attention and I'll be your ally, have a disrespectful approach and I'll be your enemy. Have neither and I'll be bored..."Aylin's Retaliation Sorcery Destroy target artifact or land. If a nonbasic land was destroyed this way, you draw a card and you lose 1 life. Like for example if you sacrifice another land. that land has an ability similar to rare in amonkhet though that can sac any desert I'd like this at but it is testable at 8/10 "And here I thought I had learn the pleasantries of man." The orc withdraws his hand. "Glair Var, you'll likely hear from me again shortly."

@gorgonzola : that effect can be super devastating (especially against me since I cluster all my lands in one spot ). Usually these flip effects require a complete turn to make sure it's not as simple to target something and blow it up. It's really hard for me to test these type of effects but I think this could work at its current cost (maybe ?). Also, I absolutely love the Erik Saffisson joke. 7/10. "Finally someone around here who wants to have fun" says Aylin delighted "But you're gonna have to do better than that, you don't use a boulder to attack me! "Enduring SpiresLand - Mountain (: Add .)Indestructible "You wouldn't believe the amount of times I tried to cause and avalanche there and the ground didn't yield a single inch..." -Aylin, Geomancer

Ouch. This card is... ehh... well, it IS a strictly better mountain (mind the basic part), so most red decks would jusylt throw 4 of them in. And you just slapped indestructible onto it. Ehh... Sorry, but I have to give it 4/10.

@gorgonzola : don't be sorry, you just made me realize I completely forgot the ETB tapped clause!
Aylin returns to her turf after an exhausting day of dealing with contenders in the Arena and getting on some people's nerves... The thrill, the adrenaline, it's all filling her, but something else also is. She feels invigorated to a point she realizes she can now wield her geomancy to a stronger level, she'd lost a bit of her energy planeswalking here, but now, as she sent wave after wave at people, her magic is returning to her. "The real fun begins now" she says with a wide smile.
Aylin can now design multicolored cards.

I don't know if you've seen the post on my Battle Board, but anyway, Rekal accepted Aylin's offer. "Oi, miss!", Rekal shouted, remembering that the deal's terms included not attacking Aylin by surprise. "Watch out for these!" And then numerous leeches were suddely writhing in the air, falling in a parabolic motion that converged with the ground somewhere in the geomancer's general direction.Leech Salvo Instant Leech Salvo deals 3 damage to target creature unless that creature's controller has Leech Salvo deal 5 damage to them. You gain life equal to the damage dealt this way. "I've heard of salvos of fire and arrows. Been under some, too. They've given me ideas, you know?" -Rekal Aari
I based the card idea off Blazing Salvo but the balancing off Essence Extraction.

Leech Salvo: I get you trying to balance off of those cards but after seeing Dark Nourishment I believe your card is undercosted. True, you do not get to choose what gets dealt the damage and, consequently, how much life you gain but that second condition could potentially mean a 10 life swing. I get what you were going for here but I think it should be costed a bit more. 7/10. "Ah, the game begins" exclaims Aylin delighted as the rain of leeches approaches her. She kicks the floor and describes a circle with her body, raising stone chunks around her, then extends her arm in the direction of the leeches, the stone fragments shooting individually at each of them and making them explode midair. She lets exactly one leech alive, which she grabs with her hand and squelches, her palm oozing its blood. "Nice attempt, but leeches suck " she adds, wiping off the blood.Violent Measures Instant Players can't gain life this turn. Until end of turn, creatures you control gain "When this creature dies, it deals 1 damage to each opponent." "If I'm going out, I'm going out with a blast."

Violent Measures: Pretty awesome Showstopper variant. 10/10 Rekal laughs heartily. "You're not bad, you know?"He turns his head briefly. "Come out of there!" A yoked ox he seems to have somehow trained trots out from behind a nearby rock.Rekal turns to Aylin again. "Spending so much time on this plane, you know, I've learnt stuff here, et cithara. I know how ta harmonize my techniques better now. Take a gander, miss."Rekal spends 1 skill point to unlock multicolour level 1. "Hii-ya!", he shouts, while taking the ox by one leg, rotating it in the air, and then hurling it towards Aylin as it lets out a "Moo."Hurl Weight Instant As an additional cost to cast Hurl Weight, sacrifice a creature. Hurl Weight deals damage equal to the sacrificed creature's toughness to any target. Slightly harder to cast than Fling because high toughness at low mana is pretty easy to find.

"Oh, boy, you're really going for it" says Aylin with a smile as she sees the beast flying towards her. She doesn't have enough time to use her geomancy, so she decides a different approach. She extends both hands and grabs the creature by its horns, rotating in order to slowly diminish its momentum. However, the ox was flung with more force than she expected, and she feels a small tug of pain on her shoulder, probably a sprain muscle. She doesn't let it show, however, and once she is the only force acting on the beast she violently throws it to the ground. As the creature squirms in pain she bends the earth around it into a crust, immobilizing it. She grabs it by the horns once more and twists its neck, putting it out of its misery. She then presses her foot against its head and pulls until the horns come out."I'm keeping this as a trophy" she says, staring at Rekal and waiting for him to look elsewhere to massage her shoulder and ease the pain.Pay in Kind Instant ~ deals X damage to each of up to X target creatures or planeswalkers, where X is the greatest amount of damage dealt to you this turn. "Allow me to return the favor..."Hurl Weight: I agree on the upped cost, Rotting Mastodon suddenly looks a lot scarier... I'm giving this 10/10 not only for the card but also because of the whole story behind it, if you want to win my heart, hurling an ox at my character is the way to go!

"No help needed, whoever you are, as you can see he's just trying to murder me because I payed him to do so..." says Aylin impassively "And if you don't like tremors then you better stay as far away from here as you possibly can."Memories Denied Instant Until end of turn, whenever a card in a graveyard becomes the target of a spell or ability, exile that card. Draw a card. "I got it, I got i- shoot, I forgot!"Restoration Efforts: being a better Call to Mind I'd rather see this either at or although one would probably use it in either an artifact/enchantment deck or a spell deck, but I like the overall versatility. 8/10.

aside: It's a painful process, contemplating whether to send an apology letter or not. Would the apology letter even be received well? Perhaps. Did Aylin even deserve an apology? Perhaps not. Ultimately, Lumen's rage lost out over his slight guilt, though not entirely. Although he was a bit too angry to apologize in writing, he did want to perhaps reconcile at some point. After much consideration, he sat down to write a letter, inviting her to talk when he was slightly less pissed off. --- Aylin, My anger towards you was probably unwarranted. I'd like to invite you over so I could provide you with some much-deserved context and an apology. I am willing to provide tea as some form of peace offering.Signed, Lumen--- There were only a few words on it, remarkably short for someone who was very much passionate about the world of legal jargon. He sent off the letter.Silverfeathered Dove Creature - Bird Flying, lifelink Whenever CARDNAME enters the battlefield or attacks, target creature you control gains flying and lifelink until end of turn. 2/1

Fleur : The card seems fine, I thought it might be too powerful but it seems fine (although the examples I found that help me support this statement made me worry about the power creep). 9/10. Metal man,Never apologize for being angry, that's boring. I don't need context, you simply got mad at a joke and exploded, that's all I need to know. Also, tea? Seriously? If you're gonna have me over at least you could offer me booze! Aylin finishes writing the letter and hands it to the dove in order to send it back to Lumen, while at the same time fighting the urge of hiding an explosive-looking contraption in the letter to give him another nasty surprise.Show of Power Sorcery Until end of turn, whenever you gain life, target opponent loses that much life. korakhos Lady Mapi : Actually I meant for each player to only be able to choose a card they exiled (so you could build around it while catching your opponents off guard) but worded it wrongly. If that will discount me points then let me know and I'll subtract them from my current valor. Regarding the card, I think it's a fine idea, it's super niche so it probably is finely costed although I think it has a build-around quality that may make it powerful in the right deck. 8/10. Aylin smiles at the challenge."You can go as easy as you want, because I definitely won't" she replies as she points her fists to the ground, rocks coating them until they grow to three times their size.Earthen Plating Instant Until end of turn, target creature you control gains trample and gets +X/+0, where X is the number of lands you control. Sacrifice it at the beginning of the next end step. Aylin always goes all-in. My score for Stir Things Up doesn't change - a few things get shuffled around, but the end result is the same. Of course, rock-coated fists three times the size of your own are incredibly heavy, especially if the magic letting you support them temporarily... stops. Kirino smirks, and throws herself at Aylin, snapping her leg out in a perfectly-timed kick.Mystic Lull Instant Choose one or both: • Tap target creature. It doesn't untap during its owner's next untap step. • Return target instant or sorcery spell to its owner's hand. "Everything should just calm down. "Earthen Plating is a pretty solid card. I'd throw it in my Tana, The Bloodsower EDH, where it would live happily with all my other power-pumps. 9/10. In case you missed this (I forgot to poke you (sorry)). Snap Kick - Instant Snap Kick deals 2 damage to any target. If that target is an attacking or blocking creature, Snap Kick deals 4 damage instead. A kick to the face stops most creatures in their tracks.

Neottolemo : "I'll see you around, and you better up your game for next time" replies Aylin trying to ignore the pain that is building up on her shoulder so as not to show weakness.mocandragon5 : I like the simplicity of your card, looks like something that would be featured on a core set. I would bump it to a 2/5 though. 9/10 Aylin looks at the merfolk, who reminds her of the planeswalker Allagras, which she met a few years ago, and recalls how fun that episode of her life was. If this guy is half as interesting as the other merfolk, then she is in for a treat."I don't mind, but I won't do it for free. Anybody who wants anything from me must offer me a fun challenge in exchange!" she replies.Foretold Disturbance Instant Choose any target, then choose a card type. Reveal the top card of your library, if it is the chosen type, ~ deals 4 damage to the chosen target. Otherwise, ~ deals 2 damage to the chosen target. Lady Mapi : yeah, sorry, I read it back in the day, but I've been dealing with a ton of things on life lately which is why I didn't reply :/ Mystic Lull really confuses me in terms of balance. Looks fairly costed but some part of my brain thinks it should cost more (possibly the "play it safe" part ) I would prefer this costing and giving you only one option but that's just me and I'm not taking points away over a preference. 9/10. As Kirino strikes Aylin, she rolls to the ground, the slabs surrounding her fists now acting against her and making her violently plummet to the ground. As the pain from her injured shoulder spreads through her arm, she dispels the stones and turns around only to see Kirino trying to kick her again, this time in the face."You should try something else for a change" she smiles as she punches the ground, which forms a crust around her lying body and grows some spikes.I'm taking Snap Kick as a second attack so you can get two ratings. I really like this, looks perfectly costed and it's a cool, simple idea. 10/10. Violent Retribution Instant Target creature gains lifelink until end of turn. If that creature would be dealt damage this turn, it deals that much damage to any target. Even on the defense, Aylin can cause major offense.
