Common #4
Dwell on Past Memories Sorcery Reincarnate (When you cast this, you may return to your hand a creature card in your graveyard with lesser converted mana cost.)Draw a card, then discard a card. "Sit and listen to lives long gone with me."

Let's introduce a sinister figure. Common 5: Shatter the Soul Instant Destroy target creature. If that creature had a +1/+1 counter on it, instead exile that creature. "True death should only be granted to those who have appreciated all life has to offer." - The Grey Scythe

Um, so I just realized that undying doesn't really go well with the concept of reincarnation (sorry, ZephyrPhantom !) Alas, quazerflame already keyworded reincarnate. Is it possible to submit a different take on the same keyword or are we locked once someone submits a card?

Fermat You can still change your entry. Once the last card drops and/or I say that I'm going to be judging, then I'd rather you not change the card anymore. Though, it'd be nice if you changed the card so the card from ZephyrPhantom still works. (Or make another card for the booster that works with it) Else their card would be a bit odd.

melono : Got it. Made my own version of reincarnate. I'll submit something that aids ZephyrPhantom 's card. Common #7Cognizant Researcher Creature — Vedalken Wizard Flying Recall (This creature enters the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter on it for each card with the same name in your graveyard.)"No need to explain. The knowledge is already... familiar."2/2

Currently we are at 1/3 uncommons: we still need two more uncommons and a rare/mythic. I'll be waiting for those last three cards, but if it's taking too long participants, just say so and I'll put up a deadline where booster will be closed and put into review. Evil Coco I'm totally fine with the Steven Universe reference, though I have not watched it and will only be able to judge on the card's mechanical merits. As to the wording of your card: There are currently 2 "reincarnate" abilities (one from Fermat and one from quazerflame ), which both do something different, so do say beneath the card which of the reincarnates your card refers to. Also, the rest of your wording: For both types of reincarnate, I couldn't see what a "creature (...) that was reincarnated" is supposed to be. If you mean a creature that was able to pull off Fermat's reincarnate ability: you can't really see that anymore once it's in the graveyard. Also also, what is "except it's a reflection"? Do you mean something like that its' creature type is a (for example) blue Creature - Illusion instead of its' other types? That's a mechanic I'm not familiar with by the way, the replacing (and not just adding) of types, so be sure to word it as well as you can. Also also also, I am not supposed to be saying all this as the judge who is supposed to give scores for these wordings, but hey, it's all a friendly game anyways. Just a heads up for Fermat and quazerflame: The two "reincarnate" abilities I will judge as two different entities in the final judgement, where one of them I'll just think of as "transmigration" or some other word as it's name instead so it's easier to judge. The keyword name is mostly flavor after all, but you both can keep "reincarnate".

Alrighty! Judgement time! The entries were really good, and I liked them a lot. Good job to all. {Judgment!} Fermat - Fierce Dissenter: A bear with a nice new keyword. This Reincarnate uses the idea of "going to the next body" by having you go to the next creature card in your deck, and I really like this way of going about reincarnation. Flavor tastes good as the creature wants to die (attacks each turn if able) in order to go to the next reincarnation (Reincarnate). 4.5/5 Cognizant Researcher: Very interesting design. The keyword works well for commons as it's not very consistent to pull off without investment into sending your cards to the graveyard. It's a bit odd in that the creature would recall being the same creature another time, but that would make sense in the idea that cards/phenomena are not unique in magic except for Legendary cards. Anyhow, I still quite like the card, and knowing that you had an extra challenge in using +1/+1 counters, well done. 4/5 Dogmatic Glare: A more expensive Gideon's Reproach for the sake of versatility. Exiling all creatures from a graveyard might be a bit powerful for just common, especially because the keyword Recall desires the graveyard (which is nice chemistry), but it IS dependent on the counters, so it might be fine. Flavor's good. 3.5/5 viriss - Harmonic Devotee: great taste in having the creature gain power from past lives in a properly limited way to avoid it being an OP common. 4/5 Offspring: A funny flavored way of changing a single heavy hitter into multiple tokens. Properly costed for a common. 3.5/5 quazerflame - Dwell on Past Memories: This keyword Reincarnate takes from the graveyard, which makes it's use as a keyword kind of strange, as reincarnating is moreso going into a new living body. Not looking at the name of the keyword, I love the effect of it. It also works flavorfully with the title and flavortext: I absolutely see what you are going for. The entire effect of the card is also a nice simple blue card. 4/5 ZephyrPhantom - Shatter the Soul: I will assume undying to be a keyword in this booster for your entry (though, Fermat's Cognizant Researcher's Recall keyword actually makes this card stronger). 3BB is a bit too much mana for destroying a creature, even for only exiling a creature (and that won't even necessarily happen with this card), but I like the flavor you're going for. Leaving the circle of reincarnation and tying a deathlike figure to it are totally coolio. 3.5/5 Fleur - Antique Wheel: Circle of Reincarnation//Antique Wheel parallels are noted and enjoyed. It's either mild graveyard hate, or mild reattaining of old cards, with a cantrip attached. Either way, it's got some versatility, but loses strength in what it does. Good as a common. 3.5/5 gateways7 - Devotion of the Faithful: Interesting card that buffs with a counter (which has become important in the set) and lifelink. It also desires a quick sacrifice to immediately get the counter (though that's not necessarily within the flavor of the faction you are calling on with the title of your card). I also like the re-usability of a simple enchantment. 4/5 Evil Coco - Memories of Potentials Past: Very solid. I like how it works well with (Fermat's) Reincarnate, as well as with Recall, nailing two of the keywords introduced. It's probably more suited as a rare, but I still really like its mechanics. It however is very dependent on the Reincarnate keyword, making it less accessible in sets other than this one. 3.5/5, and if you could have somehow made it accessible for future sets whilst still referencing Reincarnate and it being rare, 4.5/5 Tha winnah!: {WINNAH} Fermat! with Fierce Dissenter!

Sorry for the delay. Image by cha4os from DeviantArtWelcome to Vande, a plane ravaged by the curse of its own creator. Created by a god whose name had been forgotten, Vande is a plane that is home to a surprisingly large number of humans (the predominant species) and humanoids, including aven, centaurs, dwarves, elves, faeries, giants, goblins, leonin, merfolk, orcs, vedalken, and viashino. Even non-humanoid species are predominantly sentient. This is perhaps the reason why its artifice developed faster than any other plane. At least for a time. For with their artifice, they gained tremendous power. And power begets pride. As time passed, fewer and fewer people prayed and offered piety to the creator. Temples fell into disrepair, and attendance steadily fell. When the creator confronted his creations about this, the leaders of the people convened and unanimously decided that their creator was now but a vestigial existence. Their ability to create already surpassed his. And so they decided to rid themselves of his looming influence. Thus began the Godsiege. The battle lasted for seven days and seven nights—far longer than the citizens of Vande anticipated, for they had sorely miscalculated their strength compared to their creator's. It was only by sheer luck that a stray missile blinded the creator for a split-second, allowing them to land a decisive blow upon his heart. The battlefield fell silent then, and as the creator's massive form began to list to the side, cheers began to erupt among the ranks. They had won. Or so they thought. With his last breath, the creator spoke, "I am your creator. Everything you are came from me. Without me, you will never be whole. This I swear." The explosion rocked the very foundations of the world, temporarily blinding and deafening every living being within miles of it. A pulse of power spread from its center, rendering all artifacts within range nonfunctional. But that was not all it did. No, the people of Vande felt the tiniest of twinges within themselves as well. As their physicians couldn't find anything significant, they brushed it off as part of the euphoria of victory. That is, until the first child after the Godsiege was born. Her heart was missing two chambers. She was missing a kidney. Her liver was too small and barely functioned; her left arm and leg a stump. She did not survive. They passed it off as pure coincidence. They continued rebuilding all that had been destroyed during the week-long battle, unease growing in their hearts. When the next child born had no limbs, they knew that their victory had been a hollow one. Not all cases were lethal, much to the peoples' relief. Research immediately shifted towards health. Prostheses became ubiquitous, as every child born always lacked something, however small. In utero surgery was also considered in order to save those with lethal cases, to mediocre success. As the population began to dwindle despite their best efforts, views diverged. Some continued their research and artifice, staying true to their decision that they needed no god. Others turned back to the old ways, and believed the creator was not truly dead. They searched for his remnants, small fragments of energy, hoping that if they managed to find all such fragments and combined them, their creator would awaken and they could beg for his forgiveness so that he may lift the curse he had bestowed upon them. And then there were the murmurs from the Eastern forests about a prophecy spoken by a centaur seer—the coming of the Child Who Would be Whole, and how he or she would lead them unto a new dawn. Themes:
• a steampunk vibe • artifact creatures and equipment • -1/-1 counters (to demonstrate the curse) Common #1:
Rivan Mercenary Creature — Viashino Warrior ~ enters the battlefield with two -1/-1 counters on it. When ~ becomes equipped, remove a -1/-1 counter from it. "I can't simply wallow about my disfigurement since my stomach wasn't missing when I was born."

Common #2Godsiege Veteran Creature - Human Knight Cursed 2 (When this creature dies, put two -1/-1 counters on target creature you control.) Lifelink (Damage dealt by this creature also causes you to gain that much life.) The people of Vande felt the tiniest of twinges withing themselves as well, but the brushed it off as part of the euphoria of victory.3/2

I didn't have any inspiration for another one to add to the booster, but now I do: Common 7/10 Defiant Strength Enchantment - Aura Enchant creature Enchanted creature gets +2/+2 and has vigilance. When ~ is put into a graveyard from the battlefield, you may put a -1/-1 counter onto a creature you control. If you do, return ~ to your hand. Whatever the cost. xylophone The uncommons are supposed to only be made after all 10 commons are done (and then the rare/mythic last).

Sorry. I've been busy because of the upcoming holidays, what with gift shopping and all that. Anyway, this has gone on for way too long. I'm giving this another 24 hours or so, and then I'll judge. xylophone , as mentioned by melono , we must complete all ten commons first before we proceed to the uncommons, then the rare/mythic. If no one submits a ninth and tenth common, I will have to disqualify your entry. Edit: Closed. No more entries/changes, please. What a shame. I suppose the lore wasn't interesting enough.

Between last-minute shopping for godchildren (some of whom I've forgotten the names of or have forgotten entirely), family reunions (that leave me drained from constantly feigning delight, concern, undivided attention, or some other thing), and Christmas parties (in which I have no luck in prize raffles), I've found it difficult to do a complete judging. Don't hesitate to PM me for feedback on your entries if you're curious. I'm giving the win to gateways7 , with Neottolemo , melono (for Stumpfoot Slinger), and HvT as close runners-up. Seriously, everyone did an awesome job, so I had trouble selecting just one winner. Happy Holidays!

They do! (Thanks for the reminder, melono .) On the plane of Asmyr, technology and magic have fused together to create a society that equally values the advancement of knowledge and the use of the past. This marriage of ideas most strongly demonstrates itself in the Evermind. The Evermind is a device that lets every sentient denizen of the plane have access to the memories of the dead. This has driven advancement and tradition by allowing others to remember the past while still using the minds of all to bring society forward. However, when a group that has been deemed terrorists by the ruling government tries to stop the Evermind in the name of the natural order, the world becomes chaos. COMMON #1: Oracle of Endless Time Creature - Human Wizard As long as you own three or more cards in exile, Oracle of Endless Time gets +1/+1 and gains flying. "My ancestors and my descendants alike grant me boundless wisdom - enough to touch the stars."2/1
