Common #1Here's an interesting card Splitpath Marauder Creature - Human Warrior Splitpath Warrior has first strike as long as it's attacking. When ~ enters the battlefield, if you control no tapped lands, create a 1/1 white Human Soldier creature token. Suspend 1 A vicious butcher in one timeline. A honorable fighter in another.2/2 This would probably be a cycle representing the split between the two different timelines, the main one (represented by the main cost) and the original one (the suspend cost) Cool card. Nice idea reflecting the disparate timelines. Still hoping for more entries though...

Common 2 Loyal Disciple Creature - Human Monk ~ has aspire as long as you control a Dragon. (Whenever this creature attacks, you may cast an instant or sorcery card in your graveyard that could target it. If you do, exile that card.)2/1 "My mentor shows me the way to even greater heights."Aspire feels like it could result in a lot of value if not balanced carefully, so I figure having some of the cheaper cards rely on a condition (such as having a Dragon) would help spread the keyword around a bit more easily at lower rarities.

I was wondering where this game went and why I hadn't posted on it recently - turns out I was the last person to post in the pack order. Let's give this a bump and try to at least get a few more entries to close the round with.

Draconic Allegience Sorcery Put a +1/+1 counters on up to two target creatures. You gain 2 life. Dromoka and Oujitai where willing to put their conflicts aside. To their clans, they talked about how this was necessary, this was a sign of true strength. But the other elder dragons knew: an allegience based on fear does not last. Its a dromoka mechanic but it interacts really well with oujitai's mechanic so I thought about this. EDIT: Support was not a dromoka mechanic, even better, it's more balanced between the clans.

Common 5: Executioner's Judgement Sorcery Each player sacrifices a creature. Suspend 2 - (Rather than cast this card from your hand, you may pay and exile it with two time counters on it. At the beginning of your upkeep, remove a time counter. When the last is removed, cast it without paying its mana cost.)He enjoys his work, for he sees only the worst Dromoka criminals: those who stole his way of life.Merciless Exceutioner is not happy he would not belong in Dromoka....

Common #7 Lens of Foresight Artifact Whenever you cast a spell, if no mana was spent to cast it, scry 1. : Add one mana of any color. Spend this mana only to suspend a card from your hand. "I do not understand why these strange travelers defy the Dragonlords' rule, but the power they possess is undeniable. Silumgar must have it."

Oujitai's Way: Infiltration Instant Until end of turn, whenever target creature you control deals combat damage to an opponent, scry 1 and draw a card. "A strike that is unexpected hits twice as hard."

Okay people, now I'm unsure. As there have been two more entries since my last post I'm inclined to give this more time, hoping that we'll get to the juicy uncommons and rare eventually. On the other side, I announced to judge this and I don't want to break my word. What are your thoughts?

How about 2 days after the last entry? You could make it a hard cutoff point IMHO given how long this pack has run.

Skyline Strike Sorcery Excel 2, then target creature you control fights target creature you don’t control. If the creature you don’t control has flying, instead your creature deals damage equal to its power to that creature. (To excel, choose a creature with the highest power among creatures you control and put two +1/+1 counter(s) on it.)

Judging time!
foureyesisafishNice card! I like how it really plays into the flavor of a parallel universe – a fearsome warrior of the Kolaghan in one world, a orderly rider of the Abzan in another. I agree that these would make a great cycle. 5/5ZephyrPhantomLoyal DiscipleWell, how value generating cards with aspire turn out to be depends more on the instants and sorceries that can be recast with them. I like the “if you control a dragon” condition because it doesn't only balance cards but also transports flavor. On this card in particular, I doubt that it's necessary, though. 4/5Executioner's JudgementGreat callback on an otherwise pretty mediocre card. Innocent Blood might be too good for modern day standard, but this is nerfed too much, imo. Maybe one mana less? Or only have the opponent(s) sacrifice a creature? 3.5hamngravyGee, this is a powerful card. I guess designing dragons at common level isn't easy but this card looks way too strong to be a common. Assuming that you untap with it and swing, you most likely end up with an attacking 4/4 flyer (in the fifth turn) that will grow every turn from then on. Considering that red usually doesn't get any flyers at common, and if, only one-shot or lackluster ones, the card is fine, but not at this rarity. 2/5lordpatDraconic AllegienceVery cool link between the Dromoka and the Ojutai mechanics without being too on-the-nose about it. The flavor text play into this even further. Good job! 5/5Oujitai's Way: Infiltration I see what you did there. This is meant to be played with aspire creatures. I like it although it could even be a tad bit stronger, seeing that you always need an attacking creature for it to do anything at all. Cards like Serum Visions are so good because they can be used turn 1 to smooth out draws and/or get some combos with storm going. This card can do neither, which isn't a bad thing but it opens up more possibilities to make it jucier. MonkeyChewToyI like the first ability and dislike the second. A three mana mana rock that you can't use for most of the things you need mana for is lame. In limited, you will likely not have enough suspend cards to make this card worth it and in constructed the card is too weak to see any play. Instead of being a restriction, I'd have liked it more as an additional upside, as in Altar of the Pantheon. 3/5virissThere's a lot going on here but not so much that I'd consider this unfit for being a common. I like the fight-becomes-onesided idea as a whole as it stresses that green isn't primarily into killing creatures, unless they are really evil (in greens way of seeing things at least; having the ability to fly or being an artifact...) 4.5
{And the winner is...} foureyesafish! First card takes the win! Your card stroke the right balance between being an easy to understand common and at the same time being novel and playing with the themes of the set. Close runner up is lordpat with his clever designs around the brood mechanics.
Thanks everyone for participating!

Cults of Xicralta
By Andreas Rocha Xicralta was not a plane built for mortal minds to fathom. It is a plane of unfathomable scope, its twisting landscapes and ancient ruins ruled by the alien horrors that call the plane home. Xicralta's nature as a plane also contradicts many closely held beliefs of the nature of planes, and the rifts that occasionally emerge between the horror plane and others throughout the multiverse are seemingly impossible. But, despite the adverse conditions, some more recognizable life survives on this plane. Be it in kindness, a need for subjects, or just plain curiosity, some of Xicralta's most powerful beings have taken wayward humanoids under their wings (literal or metaphorical), forging their own cults to enforce their will. Recently, the tension between the cults as increased as their Patrons whisper about a great return...
THE FACTIONS: Each of the cults is a tricolor faction with a tribe that the cult is centered around led by a massive horror belonging to that tribe. Each of these cults also have a mechanic... which I will leave it up to you to determine. The name and patron of each cult is followed by the tribe and a general description
Dagon's Innsari Conservatory: This group of somewhat immoral researchers, druids, and naturalists, sponsored by the calculating Dagon, mix magic and the natural world together through the study of Elementals. Mechanically, the Innsari are a sort of ramp spellslinger archetype, using their elementals and some tokens to help them cast more instant and sorcery spells. Ling-en’s Merrichen Court: Beneath the veneer of an orderly court, the Merrichen, like the predatory Ling-en, are power-hungry nobles and liches that only focus on themselves and their families, with most of the day-to-day duties falling to the badly mistreated Zombie servants, some of whom are still fully aware. Mechanically, the Merrichen are 100% aristocrats, revolving around sacrificing Zombies to gain value before those zombies come back from the dead once again. Veterm’s Predipap Infestation: The Predipap, must like the brooding Veterm, are more primitive and brutish than most of the other cults. Despite its savagery, the hive mind is still cunning, and the Predipap are in some ways both the safest and most dangerous of the cults, much like their Insect inspiration. Mechanically, the Predipap are all about going wide with a swarm of Insects and killing an opponent in 1000 tiny cuts. Victuripa’s Enspectier Brigade: The violent Enspectier roam lost battlefields, razing plains and pillaging what little they can find in the name of the violent Victuripa. Even after death, the Spirits of the Enspectier continue their crusade with much more furor then they ever had in life. Mechanically, the Enspectier are focused on noncombat damage, razing their opponents to the ground and getting bonuses whenever they burn a creature on their war pyre. Aaka-Salom’s Anaakar Archive: The Anaakar collect and study the alien artifacts and treasures that scatter Xicralta. Their own thirst for knowledge parallel’s hoarding Aaka-Salom’s own hunger, and many seek to emulate their Dragon patron and his mark on the world, for better or for worse. Mechanically, the Anaakar are centered around artifact control, using their accumulated treasures for their own purposes.
There are whispers of another horror rivaling the power of the Patrons, whose blood runs with all of the colors of mana, whose footsteps twist space and birth new horrors. Most know this legendary figure vanished from Xicralta long ago.
But now, after millennia, Hepax returns. After all, it was about time for a family reunion.
OTHER MECHANICS Xicralta features two other mechanics between the different factions, along with one five-color mechanical theme: HORROR TRIBAL
Coalesce [COST] (You may cast this from your graveyard for [COST]. If you do, put it on the battlefield as a Horror creature after it resolves. Exile it if it would leave the battlefield or not resolve) Thank you to CyberChronometer for letting me use one of my favorite of yours.
Tribal (Tribal cards have creature types) Returning from Lorwyn, Tribal appears on Revelations and on faction cards.

Recommendation to future posters: you can go WILD here. If you want to make this similar in complexity to like a Modern Horizons set, I would LOVE THAT. Fits visiting a very eldritch plane well.
In that spirit, I'm also going to advise that each faction gets one new mechanic and one returning one if you wish. I'll keep track of those mechanics here:
Innsari: NEW: Build a Monument Returning: Magecraft
Merrichen: NEW: Beckon Returning: Decayed
Predipap: NEW: Feast Returning: Unknown
Enspectier: NEW: Fires of War Returning: Unknown
Anaakar: NEW: Unknown Returning: Metalcraft
And, also, as this is probably going to take a lot more space than usual, I'm going to do something unprecedented: after we go through one pack, we'll keep going for a set amount of time (probably a week or two depending on how it's going). Those cards can be of any rarity.
Looking forward to what you're designing.

Toxic Abberation Creature - Insect Warrior Deathtouch Feast 2 - (, exile this card from your graveyard: Create two 1/1 green Insect tokens. Feast as sorcery.)When ~ becomes feasted, creatures you control gain deathtouch until end of turn. 2/2 I think having insects be a graveyard themed token faction will make them feel appart from other tokens, it's also good for grinding purposes. ::WBG:: NEW - Feast RETURNIG - Uknown

EDIT: Thanks lordpat for letting me keep my card. So here's my original post back.
I figured that decayed would be a good fit for the Merrichen Court as it played nicely into the undead-servants-theme that you described. The keyword beckon is reminiscent of extort but instead of the drain, you get a little zombie slave to sacrifice later. The keyword can theoretically appear on all permanent types and the tokens having decayed also stops it from being busted with instants or spells with flash.

A few things I would like to note here, just for reference. 1. The Merrichen already have a new mechanic, but personally between beckon and relentless I like this more. 2. This would be just the type of card that would get tribal in Xicralta. So you guys are going to need to determine which of these mechanics to keep and which to discard.

Common #5
Catalogue the Find Sorcery Draw two cards. Metalcraft - Draw three cards instead if you control three or more artifacts. "Another curious glyph. Put this tablet there with the others."For another returning mechanic, the artifacts faction gets Metalcraft, an ability word I have a spft spot for since I started playing in scars of mirrodin block. As for the actual design, we've seen plenty of Divination+ as recently as Ikoria, so why not make one here?

Another new mechanic from me, but this time for a faction that does not already have one:
Build a monument is an action keyword that can be put anywhere - permanents, spells, abilities, ... and plays into the ramp spellslinger archetype the faction is all about.
