The legendary thief Umu'e snuck into the underworld and broke off the fiery left arm of the god of volcanoes. He delivered the gift of fire to humans, using the arm to light their hearths with a touch, but has to keep running forever, or the god will catch up with him and take the arm back.
Primarily based on the story of Maui obtaining fire - specifically the Samoan version, in which he breaks off the right arm of Mafui'e, the earthquake god, and threatens to break the left one too until Mafui'e gives up the secret of fire.

Once I realized Easter Island was a part of Oceania, I knew I had to do something with moai. Since the prevailing belief is that they were used to memorialize ancestors, the idea I came up with was a big, powerful golem for a big, important figure, who gives you the ability to make moai of your other departed creatures. I was going to make him be a Sculpture too, but it's only been on tokens thus far (and him not being the type that buffs him makes for less potential confusion), so I figured a Dreadnought works for a super huge, powerful statue that only gets stronger the bigger its afterlife kingdom grows. For the activated ability, I borrowed from the wording of Eternalize.

sorry for the wait! I just got back from a vacation and don't really have the time (or brain power) to do an in depth judging, but I will give the win to thaneofglamis. These were all very fun entries though!

Thank you!
Order up: LIMIT #19: The sincerest form of flattery: your card is an homage to another card. LIMIT #160: Watch your fingers! All the numbers on your card sum to 10. (Numbers include mana cost, text box, p/t and loyalty costs. Number words don't count!) (Thanks, SilentKobold!) LIMIT #196: Single it out: Your card has a mana value of exactly one (with no X!) (Thanks, thaneofglamis!)

I went ahead and assumed all numbers added up, regardless of if they were presented as positive or negative. {Design Thoughts for Those Who Care}How much worse than Tibalt could a 1 mana Planeswalker be?
Well, for starters, if you're not playing against someone with Curses, you're gonna have to go down to 1 loyalty by turning an enchantment into a Curse to even get this train rolling. If you aren't playing an opponent with enchantments...uh...bring your own, I guess?
All that, for an ultimate that actually isn't incredibly useful considering how bad Curses can be. At least it's cheap?
No, but for real, there is a lot of downsides here, but I don't think it's entirely a joke. You could, in theory, run him in an enchantress deck and -2 your own enchantments for value over time, since copying them copies printed values and not text-changing effects...unless I've misunderstood that rule. But even if I have, and it ends up copying the new text, it's still enchantments for your purposes, and Curses to power his emblem. It's a kinda high-risk strategy...but hey, it only costs one white mana. XD
Also, I assume this counts as an homage? Since Unluckiest has been on like, 7 other cards? And it's kinda an homage to Tibalt, the Fiend-Blooded, as a cheap and bad Planeswalker. XD

In homage to Figure of Destiny and friends: Peace Engine Artifact Creature - Warrior : If Peace Engine doesn’t have vigilance, put a vigilance counter on it. : If Peace Engine has vigilance and not first strike, put two +1/+1 counters and a first strike counter on it. : If Peace Engine has first strike and not trample, put four +1/+1 counters and a trample counter on it. 1/1 The ability check allows for some counter shenanigans.

Liked: This is a really elegant and mechanically cool card. I like Lupine Prototype as a pet bad rare, and this is actually playable! Giving it an ability to use while it can't attack was a great call. Disliked: The flavor could have used a little more time to cook. "Humanic" isn't a word and doesn't really roll off the tongue. The flavor text isn't very clear, and it doesn't really make sense attributed to Gisa rather than Geralf, who's Ludevic's apprentice. But these are fairly small issues. Overall: 3.9/5 Liked: It's an interesting card. I could see it in a commander precon or Horizons set where artifact tokens are a theme.
Disliked: I'm not sure why it has to enter tapped or untap during opponents' upkeeps. It sort of encourages you to hoard tokens instead of sacrificing them, which seems weird to me. Overall: 3.5/5 Liked: This is a very cool card based on a very cool card. Probably not as consistent as Lacerator in aggro decks, but it's interesting.
Disliked: Nothing in particular, I just feel like it's missing something. Maybe something in the flavor text, maybe art direction if not art? Overall: 4/5 viriss - Karn, Newly AssembledLiked: This is a cool idea for a legendary leveling 1-drop and it seems perfectly balanced. Disliked: This doesn't seem to be a homage to any particular card. When Karn's a creature, he's huge, and he's never had first or double strike. Whether he's a creature or a planeswalker he always cares about artifacts. I don't think name alone is enough to qualify for limit #19.
Overall: 2.75/5 (missing limit penalty)
Jartis - The Unluckiest PlaneswalkerLiked: Nothing in particular...
Disliked: First of all, this isn't really a homage to a particular card. Yeah, Unluckiest is in art, but I'd say that counts even less than Karn. Second of all... I'm pretty sure its numbers add up to 11. (1 + 2 + 4 for the loyalty abilities; 3 for the starting loyalty; 1 for the lifegain from the emblem; 1+2+4+3+1=11) Sorry about that. As for the mechanics, I'm afraid this is too good in enchantress decks, and maybe even outside of them, especially for only 1 mana. For example, targeting your own Banishing Light with the -2 ability would let you create a new Banishing Light every turn, without freeing whatever you exiled with the first one. Also, the second ability needs to specify that the enchantment becomes an Aura with enchant player. Overall: 0.5/5 (double missing limit penalty) Liked: A cool card in the vein of Figure of Destiny. I think being able to "cheat" and skip steps in the process is fun. Also a clever way to total up its numbers to 10. Disliked: It's minor, but the huge amount of different hybrid mana could be potentially confusing, making you pay very close attention to your available mana. Overall: 4/5

Thanks for the win! And a render would have been cool and would add to it, but also, ain't nobody got time for that!
Anyhoo, rngesus stepping up: LIMIT #14: Go, gadget, go: Your card is an artifact. LIMIT #90: It's a bird! It's a plane! It's your card! Your card contains the word "flying." (Thanks, monger!) LIMIT #197: A token of my appreciation... Your card creates or in any other way cares about Non-Creature Token(s). (Thanks melono!)
