Welcome to the Card of the Week Contest! To participate in this Contest you'll have to design a card along the contest guidelines and throw it into the arena with other competitors' entries! At the end of each week, a winner will be determined by forum poll. The winner's card will be rendered and featured on the Welcome page, and the winner decides the challenge for the next week's Contest! Here we go, competitors: our five-hundred and fifteenth challenge! The winner of the "Get out your ace in the hole." poll was quazerflame with...And the challenge issued by our winner was... Create a planeswalker card of a race currently represented on no planeswalker cards, as well as a permanent and a nonpermanent card tied to that planeswalker's story. To increase your chances of winning and to also make creating the poll easier on whomever is doing so, please try to use a render. Additionally, please try to keep your entry edits all in one post - if you need to change it you can put your old entry in a spoiler marked "Old entry" and leave the newest rendition to be seen. Just use the edit button in the top/right of your original post. And now, time to begin the challenge! Best of luck, competitors!

Please stop making this so easy for me. Ada of Mirrors & Ada's Reflection. As for the nonpermanent: Mirror Shatter Signature Instant--Ada (For as long as you control an Ada planeswalker, you can that planeswalker to search your library for a signature Ada card, reveal it, put that card into your hand, then shuffle. Normal planeswalker rules apply.)
Enforced (An enforced spell can’t be cast unless it was cast from a player’s hand by paying its full mana cost. An enforced permanent can’t enter the battlefield unless it was cast from a player’s hand by paying its full mana cost.)
Counter target spell. Create a tapped token that’s a nonlegendary copy of a permanent on the battlefield. Here's some more Ada lore.

Varazzo, Lounge's Victor Legendary Planeswalker - Varazzo ~ and lizards you control have wither. +1: Exile to the top card of your library, you may cast it this turn if it's a creature card. -2: ~ and each creature you control deals 1 damage to target creature you don't control. -7: Search your graveyard and/or library for up to three lizard creature cards and put them onto the battlefield under your control. They gain haste until end of turn. 4 Varazzo's Verdict Sorcery Target creature you control gains wither until end of turn, then deals damage equal to its power to target creature an opponent controls. "Those who are weak deserve to wither away!" --Varazzo, Lounge's VictorVarazzo's Loungemate Creature - Lizard Warrior Haste, persist : ~ gets +1/+0 until end of turn. A water elemental planeswalker whose spark ignites (huh?) after escaping from an evil (debatable) wizard harnesting water elementals for power is neat, albeit hard to realize in most of the RP settings. {My previous iteration of Naisha}

Once the sirens, harpies and naga of Losreech were thieves. They weren't mighty enough to so much as qualify as bandits or raiders, unable to fight even most common elven citizens, instead relying on suddenly swooping in, taking what they could, and getting away as quickly as possible. With dreams of greater life, they mimicked the civilization they stole from, a respectful parody of it. They knew little of the role that civilization, and the behemoths they protected, played in safeguarding Losreech from greater dangers, until the three formed an unsteady alliance to drive out the elves. With the loss of the elves, the behemoths found themselves faced with a lack of food and territorial conflicts, eventually being driven to extinction. In their absence, the Losreech monstrosities once kept in check spread like a plague, only prevented from growing in even further number by the voracity of the others. Lacking the might of the behemoths and with a poor understanding of elven practices or magic, the alliance was forced to turn to darker magics based on sacrifice, to keep the beasts at bay, while inhabiting the ruins now renamed Uuvisht. Each race brings their own means of sacrifices, from kidnaping, to luring unsuspecting travelers with hypnotic songs, to raising creatures as fodder to sacrifice. Thopos was the chief of the sirens who awakened his spark during a particularly daring raid on elven treasure. The power from his spark and the knowledge he gained from seeing a couple other planes before making his return gave him the tools he needed to drive out the elves. He searched high and low for a means to save his people, eventually coming across a hidden place containing a miracle: An ancient egg, still in gestation, the last behemoth. Thopos plans to use the magic of the people of Uuvisht to awaken the egg so he may closely study it and find other creatures like it in planes out there. Idea: I'm not sure the mana adding of Invoked Insight works how you want it to, but I'm even less sure of a templating fix for it. At the very least, there's a lot of ambiguity, as it took me at least three reads before I convinced myself that it actually does anything. You have an additional delayed trigger that happens as an addendum (addendum is such a terrible mechanic), but the way it's written, it sounds as if you add the mana immediately, but you can't because no creatures attacked you during the main phase when this was cast.

If you cast (...)", but then puts it in sequence to the rest of the triggered effect.

The point is to add during the combat phase though, it’s meant to spent on tricks and the like.

Thandria, Emancipator of Undead Legendary Planeswalker -- Thandria
: Look at the top card of library. If it’s a Zombie, you may reveal it and put it into your hand. : Put a decayed counter on target non-Zombie creature. : Zombies you control gets +1/+1 and menace until end of turn.
| The Liberator Legendary Artifact-- Equipment
Equipped creature gets menace, deathtouch and +2/+1.
Equip Zombie
Thandria’s own necromancer was the first to fall by the scythe. In her path across the planes many followed. | Thandria's Call Sorcery
Until end of turn, target creature card in a graveyard is a Zombie in addition to its other types, and gains unearth. Its unearth cost is equal to its mana value.
Not even the caress of death could release Thandria’s foes from her grasp. |
In her travels across the multiverse, Thandria saw the terrible unlife the undead was treated to. They were slaves, test subjects, cannon fodder; at best they got to wander the wild until a hunter put an end to their existence. There was no dignity in the second life they were blessed with. It horrified her, and she swore give them the gift of freedom, and the gift of the mind, while their masters, mixters and mistresses would fall by her scythe. {Ealier cards and lore featuring Thandria} In times past there was a mighty necromancer, who tried to push the limits of necromancy as far as they possibly could. This led to the creation of a zombie unlike any other, as this zombie learned by itself, and with time it became apparent that it even had a mind and will of its own. This fascinated the necromancer, as they didn't know how they managed such an incredible feat of necromantic creation. For that reason they began to study the zombie vigorously, to the zombies dismay. No matter how much it pleaded for the necromancer to stop, they just kept going. Then one day, the zombie had had enough, and they attacked the necromancer. The necromancer used all their force to try and control the zombie, but something kept them from being able to dominate its will, so the necromancer was slain. The rush of victory, and relief of being free made what had just been a small ember in it burst alight and the zombie was flung across the blind eternities, to another world. There the zombie learned the art of necromancy, studied the world around her, and she took the name Thandria.
Another opportunity to expand on Thandria's story. Yay! I never expected to have a zombie planeswalker OC, but now I do, and I love her.

Currently, Basking Capybara has no planeswalker brethren. Or any brethren at all for that matter. I intend to change this.
Porridge is a beloved NPC, borrowed (with permission) from a DnD game that was originally based on Tomb of Annihilation, and quickly became... not that. Powerful enough to hold concentration on six different Mage Hands, as well as a Floating Disc when he couldn't be bothered to walk, Porridge was a powerful ally... at least, once we found him. The first floor of his tower is a shop, run by the illusion of a very grumpy shopkeeper who told us the shop was closed and kicked us out (Illusory Diversion) (I drew this one during a meeting, so the art isn't perfect-- the woman should be slightly translucent). However, once we had gotten through to him, he ended up being a helpful resource, at one point opening a portal to our location in the jungle so we could exchange what we knew for some resources (Academic Exchange).

as written, the tokens leaving the battlefiled doesn't give Azir loyalty counters: it checks for creature types, not names, so because the Sand Soldiers are actually Elemental Soldiers, they're not "Sand Soldiers" for the purposes of the trigger. would recommend just making the tokens Sand Soldiers without the named token shenanigans

Whenever a creature named Sand Soldier you control leaves the battlefield, put a loyalty counter on Azir. should work -- Shadowborn Apostle

Thanks for the feedback I swapped everything to "Sand" now in the original post and made them generic, unnamed.

Thanks for the feedback I swapped everything to "Sand" now in the original post and made them generic, unnamed. Ah, neat, now it even has synergy with previous Sands! One other note, on Rise of Shurima. On non-static abilities that reference attacking creatures, only the creatures that are attacking at the time of effect resolution are considered. Since Rise of Shurima is a sorcery, I think it would need to be made into a trigger on when a creature attacks this turn (except they'd need to have vigilance beforehand so they don't tap to attack...): "If you have the city's blessing, creatures you control have vigilance until end of turn, and whenever a creature you control attacks this turn, it gains lifelink until end of turn." or you can just give it to all your creatures, not just attacking ones: "If you have the city's blessing, creatures you control have vigilance and lifelink until end of turn."

what's this? an excuse to shill my oldest walker OC? don't mind if I do
more details in the link in my sig, but tl;dr: local viashino lizard doctor once did charity work with his mate, lost said mate, then sublimated the grief into more doctor work and ultimately became obsessed with becoming the perfect doctor at (almost) any cost
