Welcome to the Card of the Week Contest! To participate in this Contest you'll have to design a card along the contest guidelines and throw it into the arena with other competitors' entries! At the end of each week, a winner will be determined by forum poll. The winner's card will be rendered and featured on the Welcome page, and the winner decides the challenge for the next week's Contest! Here we go, competitors: our four-hundred and ninety-first challenge! The winner of the "The show must go on!" poll was Fermat with...And the challenge issued by our winner was... With Christmas just around a month away, preparations are well underway. For this week's challenge, create a card based on a holiday you think would exist in one of MtG's many planes. For this, try create something original that hasn't been mentioned in any of the official lore documents, or hasn't been put in the spotlight as much as, say, the signing of Ravnica's Guildpact. To increase your chances of winning and to also make creating the poll easier on whomever is doing so, please try to use a render. Additionally, please try to keep your entry edits all in one post - if you need to change it you can put your old entry in a spoiler marked "Old entry" and leave the newest rendition to be seen. Just use the edit button in the top/right of your original post. And now, time to begin the challenge! Best of luck, competitors!

I've seen enough porn to know what happens next. Have an Acorn card:
Rabbi's Gambling Top Artifact Whenever a single source you control deals 4 or more damage to a permanent or player, put a luck counter on Rabbi’s Gambling Top. , , Spin a dreidel: • On נ, nothing happens. • On ג, remove all luck counters from Rabbi’s Gambling Top. The next time a source you control would deal damage this turn, it deals that much damage plus X instead, where X is the number of luck counters removed this way. • On ה, the next time a source you control would deal damage this turn, it deals half that damage, rounded up instead. • On ש, Rabbi’s Gambling Top deals 4 damage to you. Put an additional luck counter on Rabbi’s Gambling Top.Since I misunderstood the prompt, have an actually canon holiday: Rauck-Chauv Sorcery Multikicker and/or (You may pay an additional and/or any number of times as you cast this spell.)
Destroy target artifact or enchantment, then destroy another target artifact for each time this spell was kicked with its kicker, and destroy another target enchantment for each time this spell was kicked with its kicker. This spell has split second as long as it was kicked four or more times (As long as this spell is on the stack, players can’t cast spells or activate abilities that aren’t mana abilities.)--------------------------------------------------------------------- "I wrecked your metal guy, your ashtray, and your unadorned aluminum pole!"Thanks to Daij_Djan, combined both multikicker abilities into one.

As the rules don't state the whole plane has to celebrate that holiday and Esper (along with the other shard) was treated kind of like a mini-plane, I think this card should fit the bill: {The Holiday}Basically a celebration of the gift of etherium by throwing an etherium rope into the slums and gradually pulling up letting only one person still there to receive the changes by Esper expert mages.

Small heads-up: The challenge isn't about RL holidays but rather about making up fake ones for the planes..

The Aztecs had a lot of festivals. They had one for the start of spring, and sowing the first seeds of the year. It makes sense that Ixalan would have a similar festival. Also it's my new headcanon that Huatli and Saheeli call each other Sun and Stars because they're gay and I love them.

I imagine the Church of Serra have an annual festival celebrating the grace and benevolence of Serra. Serra Festival Enchantment At the beginning of your upkeep, you may put a verse counter on Serra Festival. , Sacrifice Serra Festival: Put a +1/+1 counter on each of up to X target creatures and untap them. Target player gains X life.

I'd suggest shortening the Kicker abilities by combining them like Ana Battlemage and similar: Multikicker and/or (You may pay an additional and/or any number of times as you cast this spell.)

Using one of my designs from a recent set theme challenge. Edit: Increased power level by removing from the cost of the first ability. Was way too weak otherwise.

I went with an "Old Kamigawa" approach of "Saint's day"
