Thanks for the win! You're very right about the balancing, I think would be much better than . For the next challenge, make a land that creates/interacts with a noncreature token such as food, treasure, clue, etc.

Judging time! Flo00 Murder Scene - Nice and simple, good for clue decks. moweda Royal Mint - Very useful in any kind of token or artifact deck, I like it. vizionarius Bountiful Vineyard - Not bad, though for one colored mana and a food seems a tad overpriced in my opinion. Sanfonier of the Night Slum Workshop - I'm a big fan of calibrate and weapon tokens. twintania Emerald City - Love the mechanic of getting a color based on the related token, nice! Results: Winner is twintania with Sanfonier of the Night as runner up.

Thx for the win. The next challenge is a Dual Land whose drawback isn't mundane. I mean mundane is that - Simply requires life ( pain land, shock land, fetch land etc )
- Simply enters the battlefield tapped
- Is legendary
- Doesn't have a basic land type
Note that - You may post a virtually dual land like a fetch land. If it can be counted as two color land, it doesn't necessarily produce two types by itself.
- You may post a land cycle if you want.
- Requiring life in very weird style or EtB tapped with a brand new way of avoiding tap-in are allowed.
- But note the core point of this challenge is that I want to see a dual land with a new taste. I heavily valuate the innovative spirit in this challenge, though I can not say that the most innovative one must win.

Chaotic Laboratory Land : Add or , chosen at random. In a set where randomness matters, this could possibly be a cycle at common. In a regular set, I think only this UR combo makes sense.

I thought of doing something similar to this cycle of lands, except it's based specifically on the basic types for the colors it produces.

Pearlwater Garrison: Add . , Reveal a Soldier card from your hand: Add . , Reveal a Merfolk card from your hand: Add . The idea is that you must have the Garrison 'stay' in your hand to maintain the land and produce the appropriate mana.

Chaotic Laboratory/ moweda Very innovative. This penalty was never seen in canon lands, though similar to Jack-in-the-Mox and Gem Bazaar. I'd give it " :Add ." to avoid a random check when which color don't matter. It can be ignorable when you playing paper game, but it is needed in Arena. Arena would be required to a special procession to forbid the cancel of the ability, or you can repeat the random until you get favorable mana. It is a choice from two possible results but it is not a coin flip, so it will confuse some casual users. Serene River/ emberfire17 Unlike lands you mentioned, your one assures you to produce first mana for each color. It has something new but it is in a range of tap-in lands. And also, this restriction has a loophole. I assume this is a one of a cycle because dual lands are almost always a part of a cycle. Then, you can have Serene River and 12 other white lands of the cycle and 12 other blue lands of the cycle to avoid this penalty. You needed to give it one or more basic land types. Pearlwater Garrison/ ZephyrPhantom Though this restriction is not yet seen in canon, it is a variant of tribal land. And I doubt that its restriction brings a new feeling to game play. I guess people would use this card mainly in a merfolk and soldier tribal deck. Then the most of times you need blue mana is that you have a merfolk in your hand, and it is same for white and a soldier. Maybe sometimes you keep a creature in your hand to activate some abilities or prepare blue mana for a counter spell in your hand but the more times you met this kind of situation, the more you would get to feel you want to change it with another dual land. If there are many soldiers and merfolks whose main business is staying in your hand like Sky Husser, it might work well in some decks. Harsh Plateau+Haunted Tarn/ Flo00 Very interesting. Though constant damage is severe to use, aggro deck mixed with clock permission might use it well. You can turn it any time if you want but sometimes it results you a tempo loss. This is a good restriction. I love this mechanism for it is very flavorful. Say high tide, haunted, nocturnal creature, faerie's party, ... and more. There're many reasons why a land turns its face when the night came. Remote Floodplains, Unreachable Marshes, Impassable Pits, Distant Cliffs, Lonely Glades/ vizionarius At first, I misrecognized it as "If you don't, it etb tapped". Indeed, I didn't think this penalty. But I feel this is too risky to use. And the most of time, it consumes an attacker or blocker. For aggro, it is unpleasable to tap a non-sick creature. And against aggro, reducing a blocker is also not favorable. Some decks which have many creatures and don't care much about combat, such as Soul Sisters and Loop Junction might utilize it. But even these decks would avoid it because sometimes it causes you cannot put it into play unless you're using kind of Orithopter. I like all of your lands keep the distant flavor. The winner is Flo00. Both Flo00 and moweda were impressively innovative, but Flo00's one is more flavorful and doesn't have a problem of playability. The runner up is moweda.

Big thanks for the win! Your next challenge is.. Design a land card based on your home country! Your card may represent the entire country itself, an important city, a famous landmark - or whatever you can think of. Have fun! Update: Rather than using your home country, feel free to instead choose a country you'd like to visit once in your lifetime!

@ kefke : Sorry to hear that - since we've had similar challenges a few times in the past I honestly didn't think much of it. Let's extend the challenge:
Rather than using your home country, feel free to instead choose a country you'd like to visit once in your lifetime!

For a time I lived around St Louis USA: Gateway Arch Artifact , : Exile target untapped creature. Activate only as a sorcery."Gateway to what? Don't they ever come back?"Heh didn't realize this was the land contest. I will add a proper one later.
Ozark Mountains Land - Mountain (: Add .) The springwater brings abundant life to these hills.
I couldn't find a land quite like this. Seems like a decent cycle.

This turned out to be a more complicated one to design than I thought.
(I know that Magic™ uses Elk, not Deer, but given that Deer has appeared in an un-set, and Mark Rosewatwer has said that he would change the subtype from Elk to Deer if he could do it over, I don't think going for the type that makes a simpler wording on an already wordy card is too big a stretch.)

Green Lake Land : Add . Whenever a snow card is put into a graveyard, Green Lake becomes an Island until end of turn. The "Grüner See" is a lake in Styria. It is only there in spring after the snow melts from the surrounding mountains. During other times its just a nice valley to walk though. It's in my home country and I definitely want to visit it some day.

Yeah, sorry for that. First I forgot – and then things didn't really work out as intended. But finally, let's go: { moweda} Interestingly enough you're right – there doesn't seem to be a cycle like this one so far, but I could really see WotC do it one day. Closest probably is Crypt of the Eternals, which is a standalone land (so far). However I think the Crypt also shows Ozark Mountains maybe should be an uncommon – also it really needs some sort of drawback (classic ETB tapped would make it fine at common imho) since right now it's a strictly better Mountain. { kefke} This is a tricky one. Love the flavor – and definitely don't mind you using the Deer creature type – and the mechanical concept is clever but I'm unsure about the power level. There exist only three lands that can repetitively dump out 2/2 tokens, with Field of the Dead being the only one giving you them while still being able to use the mana but having a requirement you need to meet instead.. Then again, you need to have your Park unused for two rounds to get the first token, so the delay might balance it out? In the end, this one probably needs some heavy playtesting – but I'm pretty sure the powerlevel would need to be lowered a bit.. { viriss} Nice clean and simple. Could totally see this card getting printed one day. { Flo00}Love the flavor on this one (though taking a step back without your explanation the trigger might feela bit weird purely mechanically speaking – so maybe adding a fitting flavor text would be a nice upgrade?). I wanted to call it out as a strictly better Forest – but then again WotC nowadays consideres not having the basic land type a downside, so this probably checks out. The trigger needs to specify from where the snow card is supposed to enter the graveyard though – from the battlefield, or from anywhere? { pernicious}First of all: Wow, that's quite the beautiful place for sure – not sure whether I could handle the climate myself, though „Add or “ is kind of a weird line, I do get the flavor, though (though said flavor gets kind of a weird twist when you think about the ability probably supporting some Eldrazi best^^). Don't think it needs to be legendary, though. {And the winner is..} Five really flavorful, unique and cool designs – this was a pretty cool run, everyone! In the end, you know me – I'm a sucker for sleek designs like this, so the win goes to viriss!
