Welcome to the Card of the Week Contest! To participate in this Contest you'll have to design a card along the contest guidelines and throw it into the arena with other competitors' entries! At the end of each week, a winner will be determined by forum poll. The winner's card will be rendered and featured on the Welcome page, and the winner decides the challenge for the next week's Contest! Here we go, competitors: our three-hundred and ninety-third challenge! The winner of the "Necessary Sacrifices" poll was MonkeyChewToy with...And the challenge issued by our runner-up was... As you might have heard, a few days ago was the first (potentially) annual Disney+ Day, which I was actually rather interested in – except I then completely missed it (a bit anticlimactic, I know ).. Still, I decided to use it as an inspiration for this week's challenge – since I'm pretty sure it's only a matter of time before we'll get this for real in Universes Beyond: Design a card based on a Disney / Pixar property! To increase your chances of winning and to also make creating the poll easier on whomever is doing so, please try to use a render. Additionally, please try to keep your entry edits all in one post - if you need to change it you can put your old entry in a spoiler marked "Old entry" and leave the newest rendition to be seen. Just use the edit button in the top/right of your original post. And now, time to begin the challenge! Best of luck, competitors!

Hey if anyone feels like doing an The Owl House card design y'all can double dip it over at the crossover game. I don't want to judge a single entry. Beyond that, behold best enby (show's a bit unclear about Vee's gender, but because tropes, I reading them as genderfluid non-binary until I see canon material contradicting that reading, and maybe even after that (considering certain 'translations').) | Vee Noceda, Experiment Five A green, a white, and a blue
Legendary Creature - Shapeshifter Basilisk
Whenever another creature leaves the battlefield, you may pay 2 to have Vee Noceda become a copy of that creature except it is still Vee Noceda, it is still a legendary shapeshifter basilisk in addition to its other types, and it gains this ability. Then if Vee Noceda has any “enter the battlefield” abilities, trigger those abilities as if it had just entered the battlefield.

Lastly, an obligatory, "Disney should be broken up by Sherman, the Anti-Trust Cat. Furthermore I consider that intellectual property must be destroyed," because those are my disney opinions.

On January 1, 2024, Steamboat Willie, originally released in 1928, might enter the public domain.

I hope you all have seen the new Loki show. I had a lot of fun designing this card! I am proud of it honestly | He Who Remains Two generic, a blue, and a black
Legendary Planeswalker - Kang
When He Who Remains dies, if it had no loyalty counters on it and it was legendary, create ten token copys of it that aren't legendary.
+3: Creatures your opponents control must attack He Who Remains during their controller's next combat if able. 0: Each opponent loses life equal to the number of Kang planeswalkers you control. -2: end the turn. Any player may activate this ability, but only before combat.
Starting loyalty of eight. |
So, this is interesting design: it's hella overtuned, but the design space is interesting. This with a vampire hexmage basically auto-wins the game unless your opponent is playing turbofog lifegain (very few decks in very few boardstates can take 100 life loss). I also don't think the second ability works the way you think it does when interacting with multiple copies of itself. Per 508.1d " The active player checks each creature they control to see whether it’s affected by any requirements (effects that say a creature attacks if able, or that it attacks if some condition is met). If the number of requirements that are being obeyed is fewer than the maximum possible number of requirements that could be obeyed without disobeying any restrictions, the declaration of attackers is illegal..." If you have two mutually exclusive requirements all declarable attacks are illegal, because requirements only cede ground to restrictions and never to other requirements. Needing to attack two different permanents at the same time means that nothing can attack. If you want your opponents to still be able to use combat step after He pops, the ability needs to be worded such that multiple instances are redundant rather than exclusive: eg, "Creatures your opponents control must attack a planeswalker named He Who Remains during their controllers next combat step if able," or "Creatures your opponents control must attack a Kang planeswalker during their controllers next combat step." This ability also fusses around the third portion of 508.1d "...If a requirement that says a creature attacks if able during a certain turn refers to a turn with multiple combat phases, the creature attacks if able during each declare attackers step in that turn." There's nothing wrong with it persay, your wording works perfectly fine, it just atypical of this kind of effect.
Do what you want with this critique, including completely ignoring it.

Cunning Cameo Sorcery Put a creature card you own from outside the game onto the battlefield tapped and attacking. Exile that creature at end of combat. Exile ~. "Blink and you'll miss 'em."I do recall Disney and Pixar films adding cameos from their other properties in their films, like Tangled characters appearing briefly in Frozen. However, this isn't purely a Disney/Pixar thing, so this might not count...

Edit: Cause of some incidents initiated by my lil niece who forced us all to watch the Tinkerbell animated movie with her (god darn who can deny her this request) we all had a strange chain of events which lead us to wach a bunch of old disney movies (yay, childhood-time) -- And she didn't knew that Tinkerbell was mainly a Peter Pan thing. So now she knows what connected series are. In the same way I thought connecting 2 different movies which are basically out of the same universe would be fun -- And this is the result of that :-)
I could have used "Pixi" instead of "Faerie", but i didn't wanted to create a new type that's just a rename of an existing one (even if the flavour would be better that way)

Note: spazlaz beat me there, hence I come up with a non-Marvel one. I choose the number thirty in the second ability because in Don Rosa's Donald timeline Scrooge became the wealthiest person in the world in 1930. Edit: A little errata to make it more playable.

IF it from One Hundred and One Dalmatians you could make it so "then if you control more than 100, you win the game."

Curse of the Bear Enchantment - Aura Enchant player At the beginning of each upkeep, enchanted player puts a growl counter on a creature they control. Each creature with growl counters on it is a 2/2 green Bear and loses all abilities.

Gonzo the Great Legendary Creature--Alien Affinity for Chickens (This spell costs less to cast for each Chicken you control.) Gonzo the Great’s toughness is equal to the number of Chickens you control. Forecast—, Reveal Gonzo the Great from your hand: Create a 1/1 green Chicken creature token. (Activate this ability only during your upkeep and only once each turn.) Tap three untapped Chickens you control: Gonzo the Great gains flying until end of turn. 4/*
Man, that furshlugginer Mouse own fuckin' errthing! Pretty soon, they'll even own the rights to this, just as a way to appease our future overlords.

I may have gone a bit overboard with this design, trying to fit in a ton of different concepts at once. But I think that's what I love about Lilo & Stitch. It gets into the nitty-gritty details about how nobody is perfectly good or perfectly evil, and you have to learn to accept and love people for who they are, rather than projecting your idea of who you perceive them to be onto them. So maybe the colors here don't line up with the color pie. Maybe it could have been done in less colors. Maybe it didn't need to transform. I'm still tweaking little things about it to try to get it perfect (for what I was going for), but I'm pretty happy with where it's at.

Might be a bit off with the timing but any opportunity to talk about The Nightmare Before Christmas is one I'll take. You'll want "Another" on that second ability because otherwise they can just... give you the Saga back.

This is a disgusting wall of text but I like the design too much and, once you slog through it, it's at least mostly intuitive.
The Westview Anomaly Legendary Enchantment When The Westview Anomaly enters the battlefield, exile each other nonland, nonenchantment permanent, then return all nonland, nonenchantment permanent cards from players graveyards to the battlefield under their owners’ control. Put an anomaly counter on each of those permanents. When The Westview Anomaly leaves the battlefield, return each card exiled with it to the battlefield under their owners’ control, then exile each permanent with an Anomaly counter on it. If you would take damage, instead put that many anomaly counters on The Westview Anomaly. When there are more anomaly counters on The Westview Anomaly than on other permanents, sacrifice The Westview Anomaly.
