Let’s see what kind of 1 mana monsters y’all made. {Spoiler} vizionarius - Deepwater Surveyor: A good uncommon that has its place in decks. Giving it unblockability on 2 mana makes this more relevant later in the game, allowing it to more securely surveil and fix. Sanfonier of the Night - Rotha: Strong landfall, which is already normally a 3+ mana value ability. It having a monstrosity on top of it… Strong. Also, I dislike the mixing of ordinary +1/+1 counters as well as the monstrosity +1/+1 counters as the counters don’t immediately give out “I’m monstrous now” feeling, possibly creating memory issues. Just the monstrosity would’ve been strong enough, especially with the keyword soup. moweda - Urban Growth: A rather weak card, but something that does fit for a 1 mana hybrid sorcery. Making it an instant might properly buff this though. Disagree with the name. Growth is very much a green word, and I don’t find Urban Growth very fitting for its effect. Urban is often used in combination with lands, not artifacts or creatures. Winner is... |

vizionarius Thanks for the win! Like I said originally it was tough! I ended up just trying to figure out how to add to Jeskai Ascendancy. I thought Flo00 had a very clever, original card too. Fun challenge, too bad the other 3 nephilim didn't get repped. For the next challenge, I would like to see a multicolor artifact! Either gold or hybrid is fine. Good luck to all!

Judging: emberfire17 Chromatic Curio I really like Iridescent, much moreso than Devoid. The card makes perfect sense flavorfully and mechanically, so good job! The only thing is I think you have overcosted it pretty significantly. Compare Chromatic Lantern at 3 mana, which I will grant is a very strong card. Since this effect is much less powerful as most artifacts don't even have a color to contribute, I think you could safely cost this at . pernicious Smoldering Hateskull I like the card and think it's probably fairly costed. I just don't see enough in this card- I can only find a scarce few red cards that put -1/-1 counters on opponents' creatures. I think it would make more sense as  with the effect targeting an attacking or blocking creature. Winner: emberfire17Thanks for participating! |

thanks for the win! And you're right, I definitely made it too costly. For the next challenge, let's go off of my submission.
Make a golden card whose colors aren't represented in its cost. This could be a card that flips to be multiple colors as seen in the recent MOM set, or something similar to my iridescent keyword, etc.
For clarification, submissions that start as a monocolored front face and flip to a golden back face are allowed.

oh hey I totally didn't forget about this challenge. Judging time! fluffydeathbringer - A good flavored card that I could definitely see being in the MoM set, however I think the transform effect needs to be tweaked. I think it would need a specific time to check for enchantment number, so like "on your end step etc" or "when an enchantment ETBs under your control etc" moweda - I like this one a lot! It might get a little weird with rules if it enters without being casted, would it just count as 0? But overall a very good and balanced creature that's worthy of the chromatic title. thaneofglamis - Good stuff, I'm honestly surprised that Innistrad has zero vampire werewolf creatures that could make for very interesting story. It does seem costly for its abilities though, I'd put it at 3 instead of 4 cmc. Sanfonier of the Night - Very creative, I like! A fun and unique ability. It could get wordy but an interesting idea could be to require the specific colored mana for whichever color counter you're putting on him. Winner - These were all unique and good cards that I'd genuinely love to see in a real set, but the winner will be moweda |
