Actually, I think yours is the one that doesn't quite match the cycle, as the flashback cost is the two enemy colors of the casting cost, rather than one enemy and one ally

At first I had another card idea but then I realized that it didn't really fit into a cycle with Smiting Helix.

Anyone else find it interesting that we seem to be walking around the color wheel? The prompt was black, we had a couple red cards, I posted a green card, and now ameisenmeister posted a white card.

Merciless Judgement Sorcery Exile target artifact, creature, or enchantment with converted mana cost 3 or less. Flashback A bone shattered for each pain inflicted. When normally played, it's a slow removal spell reminiscent of Angelic Purge, Angelic Edict, Altar's Light, and many similarly inefficient but flexible White removal spells at common/uncommon. Using Flashback makes it a reference to Abrupt Decay, and similar to Smiting Helix the FT references a an Abrupt Decay printing.

Gifts of the Good Sorcery As an additional cost to cast this spell, sacrifice a creature. You draw cards equal to the sacrificed creature's power. Flashback This seemed... almost too easy.

... instant or sorcery card, reveal it ... ? I reveal nothing, though I did fix the rules syntax. The reason tutors specify revealing the card you search is to prevent cheating. If you don't reveal, you can grab any card you want, not just a card matching the restrictions, and your opponent will be none the wiser.

I play no magic at all anymore, which is why those little issues like cheating tend to slip my mind.

| Corrosive Rain Three Generic and A Blue Sorcery Uncommon
Destroy target permanent with converted mana cost three or less. It's controller creates a 2/2 black zombie.
Flashback for a black and a green.

My design logic here is that the cycle is giving a spell from one color pair ( Lightning Helix) to another color that wouldn't typically have access to those effects in that exact combination at a more expensive cost and slower speed. So, I took abrupt decay and muddled its effect with pongify (which I've always felt was undercosted) to fit into blue's bent color pie.

Last call for entries! Judging tomorrow. EDIT 1: I'll postpone judging for another 12-24 hours due to being too tired. Feel free to enter more awesome cards until then! EDIT 2: Wow, that took quite some time. {jamesbrafin}I think it's a bit strange for to search for an instant or sorcery. I'd expect this combination to either search for a creature or any card. Also the double cost in a colr that's best played triple color might not be the best idea. About your previous entry: I think it's a bit strong falshbacking this for only three mana, even if this is multicolor. It can be quite the powerfull combat trick combined with the right cards. Also the /+1 reads a bit odd, but that might just be me. {gamma3}I think that hits it spot on. It works in mono green as well as in . It's simple. The only thing I'm concerned about it that I'm not sure if having in the cost of a card that wants you to play three colors is the best decision. {ameisenmeister}Simple and very fit for the colors. really strong combat trick. Considering it also has flashback, it might be a bit too strong at two mana. I also really like the first design. It does something that I think hasn't done this way yet totally fits the colors. {ZephyrPhantom}It works in those colors and is at the right cost. And wow, I never realized that flavour connection.
{inferno390}Not the first thing I think when I think about green, but yes, this works perfectly. I guess this would still work if the flashback cost was only black, but it's still fine this way. Strictly seen, your'e breaking out of the cycle. (See the discussion in the first few entries.) As I mention below, that's ok for me.
{hydraheadhunter}At first sight this seems like a thing blue can do, yet I'm not happy with blue being able to destroy any permanent type. I mean Ravenform just started some controversy if blue should really be able to exile artifacts. Also this should really say nonland permanent. Works well in . And a small templating hint: CMC is referenced in numerals (1,2,3,...). I really didn't think that this challenge would cause so much discussion and tought about what is in the cycle and what is not. I am a little bit sorry for that. I know it's a bit late now, but I totally would have accepted all the other combinations as well. I'm really amazed by how many entries there are. Thank you all! Now for the hard decision of picking a winner. {podium}third place goes to gamma3

Oh, there's so many options... Let's go black I think. Curious Atherborn Creature - Atherborn Whenever you cast a spell that's white, blue, red, or green, you draw a card and lose one life. 1/1

Urborg Specter Creature - Specter Whenever you cast a spell that’s white, blue, red, or green, target player discards a card. 1/1 "The legendary Belzenlok looms large in every tale. Every unbeliever's nightmare is a mere fragment of his influence over the stories they hear."Partially inspired by Caligo Skin-Witch. I tried to make the flavortext sound as overly cheesy propaganda-ish as I could fitting of sinilar Belzenlok FTs like Cabal Evangel. I thought a bit about whether this should be card draw or discard but I ultimately settled on discard because I think it gives more attention to rack/reanimator strategies and feels more distinctly Black similar to Quirion Dryad growing itself. If any color in this cycle got the card draw variant I'd expect it to be blue.

Aetherstorm Volatilatist Creature -- Goblin Wizard Whenever you cast a white, blue, black, or green spell, [CARDNAME] Deals 1 damage to any target. 1/3 To him, there was no color of mana. There was just the chaos he could cause with it.

Well, "soon" is a relative term. But here we go... Judging time!
@jamesbrafin Solid card that can generate serious card advantage for an uncommon. ZephyrPhantomRepeatable discard is a powerful effect on an uncommon that can just sit back and do its job. But I think it's fair and I particularly enjoy the flavor of the card. virissAdding vigilance and changing the power to 2 makes this look different from the original, but in a good and acceptable way. I like that indestructibility already matters when you cast a spell at sorcery speed, but gets even better combined with instants. The only issue I could see is that sooner or later a 2/1 vigilance won't be relevant to the game state anymore, with or without indestructibility. Flo00Just like viriss, you went a bit further away from the original by changing mana cost and toughness. I like it. And looting cards isn't only a good effect for basically every point of the game but also helps multicolor decks finding the lands they need. inferno390Things that can dish out direct damage to creatures repeatedly because they can single-handedly destroy entire deckbuilding strategies. With cards like your's, for instance, 1/1 token strategies will need a lot of support with cards like Fortifying Provisions to not being crippled severely every time this card stays on the field for more than two turns. That said, being an uncommon, this should appear too frequently in limited to pose a big problem there. I actually like the card but I think a cleaner version like Firebrand Archer that can only hit players would be better.
{And the winner is...} ZephyrPhantom! With Flo00 as a close runner up, although I pretty much liked all the entries.
Thanks for participating!

Thanks for the win! For the next card, I'd like to see your best take on cycle counterparts to Collected Company. (I know Collected Conjuring exists, but there's more than one way to do a cycle variant - be creative! )

Conflagarated Kinship Sorcery Exile the top 6 cards of your library. Until the end of your next turn, you may play those cards. Create 2 1/1 red Elemental creature tokens. Conflagrated Kinship deals 3 damage to target creature. This feels busted, but eh

Hi, That will ne my first sketch for the cycle game so i will stay not too far from the original idea :
Collected Wills - 3 U Sorcery Look at the top six cards of target player library. Exile up to two of them with converted mana cost 3 or less face down, then put the rest on the bottom of his library in any order. You may look at and cast that card for as long as it remains exiled, and you may spend mana as though it were mana of any type to cast that spell.
