Lady Mapi (Hannah must reply, which she was going to do anyways because you know exactly where Arina is and so she literally can't. Arina was awaiting a command from Lance before I made her take action but Hannah can respond.) "Sorry, Mom's not here right now." Hannah's clearly exhausted, evident both by her actions and her thoughts, but still working on her device. All of the power conduits that are not in the heap of metal are connected and dragged off to one side of the device. She is working on one more before preparing to seal the oscillator in aether glass and move on. "She had something important she went off to do but I wasn't allowed to know what. She didn't want me getting in the way, I guess. If you leave it with me I can make sure she gets it, though!"Friendly Greeting is a bit more than blue gets at 3 mana at common, since it's Divination but better. It should be uncommon. 7/10 Innocent Reply Instant Copy target instant or sorcery spell that targets you. You may choose new targets for the copy. I smile at Hannah as I reach into the folds in space and pluck out a pair of wine bottles."Tell your mother that these are bottles of Agahian Purple - I'm sure they more than cover the important thing she went to do. They're a light dessert wine, meant to go with fruit and sket che- Well, she'll have to find a substitute for the cheese, thanks to skets going extinct a little while ago."
I involuntarily clear my throat as a pang of sadness ripples through me. I reach out my essence and brush the fatigue from her body - I overdo it a little. She won't need to sleep for days."Oh, where are my manners - what's your name, sweetie? My name is Kirino."( korakhos : Aylin should've mentioned Kirino's name to Hannah, if you think about it ). Freedom from Sleep - Enchantment - Aura Enchant creature When Freedom from Sleep enters the battlefield, untap enchanted creature. Untap enchanted creature during each opponent's untap step. Innocent Reply is one of those cards that looks innocent but is actually really dangerous, especially if you're running beneficial player-targeting spells (picture copying a Blue Sun's Zenith with it!) It probably should cost . Still, it's a lovely little spell, so have an 8/10.

A feathered woman fixes her neck warmer as she steps into this new location. "Would you happen to be Arina? Younger then I thought, but Yuriel could never tell ages very well." A heated aura surrounds her as she acclimatizes herself to this location's weather.Warm up Instant - ::Uncommon:: Choose one-- :: Target creature gets +1/+3 until end of turn. :: Target player gains 4 life.

sylphiod "No, Mom's elsewhere. I'm Hannah. Who's Yuriel?" Hannah is connecting Entelan cables and conduits to each other and to a metallic cylinder of some variety.Warm Up's a card that you play in limited and maybe occasionally gains you life. Seems reasonable for that purpose, although it's already pretty warm around here. I'll make a note to mention that Arina didn't make it snowy even though I thought it'd be funny 8/10 Atmospheric Regulator Artifact , : Target player gains 1 life for each card in their hand. , : Target player loses 1 life for each card in their hand. : Target player adds one mana of any color. Lady MapiHannah's response will be minorly delayed as I've been informed of a simultaneous action that relies on Hannah not having replied yet. I'll give you the rating so you can add your valor immediately but know that a proper response is on the way. Freedom from Sleep seems balanced. Basically vigilant but with minor upside. 9/10

"She's from the same place as your mother." Uil walks around as she taps her claws against the various machinery. "I'm Uil, it is a pleasure to meet you Hannah." The harpy reaches out her hand. Harpy's Handshake Sorcery Each player draws three cards and loses 3 life. Never shake hands with a bird. -Saying which means "If it doesn't make sense don't trust it."Atmospheric Regulator is a neat card but it doesn't really work well with my gift as casting my spell lowers two functions of the spell either for or against it. The making an opponent lose life feels a bit cheap, I'd make this part cost atleast 4, 3 if you want it to be pushed. I have to value this as I see it a 4/10 for the reasons above. Positives the similarity of the two abilities and the mana rock is fun.

sylphiodHannah accepts the handshake from the strange bird person. "Why're you looking for Mom anyways?"Harpy's Handshake is like Ancient Craving but symmetrical, which seems fine. 8/10 Curious Conference Instant If a player would draw a card this turn, that player draws two cards instead.

There is a technique that the Entelans call quick-casting. While a normal spell would require a moment of channeling aether and would then be followed by releasing the resulting elemental energy, our bodies have elemental energy already, and using that, a talented spellcaster can cast spells far faster than normal.
In exchange, this drains our internal energy significantly faster, which Volarians need to be able to survive. If one of those elements drains completely, our bodies quickly lose vital functions and die off.
We call this OVERCHANNELING.
I believe that I am both competent and careful enough that I can quick-cast without overchanneling immediately after a correctly channeled spell. This advantage is one I will need, and I can imagine I will need shortly.
Arina exchanges 200 Valor for Tactical Imperator! (Hannah gains it too as a result, but she doesn't have a long story as to why because she's not casting spells)
Arina isn't allowed to do this yet, so maybe later.

Lady MapiHannah lightly accepts the bottles and places them on the ground next to the oscillator, hoping that their invasiveness of her work will remind her to give them to her mom. As her exhaustion is taken from her, Hannah seems and feels significantly better, but there is still something strange preventing her from returning to the normal, excited and energetic state that would be expected from a ten-year-old. Hannah is obviously aware something is wrong, too, but she has no idea what it is. "I'm Hannah... Thanks, Miss Kirino. Mom'll be really happy. She goes out to get flavorful stuff."
"Hannah, is Karina h— You need to get to safety now. She is—she's an enemy of your mother's."
"Enemy?" Hannah looks at the newcomer, who is someone she does not know. Probably an elemental of some kind. Hannah looks up at Kirino again. "That's doesn't make sense. Miss Kirino came here with a gift for Mom... right Miss Kirino?"Freedom from Sleep seems balanced. Last time was much too lenient. Much too kind. This time will not be.
"Thought you were free, did you? That you'd prevailed? Ha!" Hardly noticing the stranger in his zeal, As'han unleashes a much more potent and indiscriminate anti-artifice spell. The devil thing can get it too, why not? Let everyone here be shown their vulnerability! The devices in the laboratory, and on Rettai's person, grow hotter and hotter and resonate with each other ominously...
Sorcery Each artifact you don't control deals 1 damage to its controller. Gain control of those artifacts until end of turn. Untap them. They gain haste until end of turn.

OH, I'm cheating. Whoops, okay, I'll go do some fixing then
Something Arina is allowed to do that she's gonna do, then:
The Dimir were a strange version of what Shaidosta was known for. Assassinations, thievery, espionage. Arina could fit in with the Dimir, if she found herself needing work. That was her life for a year while trying to find her way back to Volaria. She looked enough like Dimir and knew enough that Dimir would know that people would hire her for the same work. If they knew, and Arina was certain they did, based on how often she observed them, they didn't deem the 15-year-old girl worth their effort. However, it gave Arina plenty of time to pick up some techniques from them.
Arina (now legally) can Call for Aid from Ravnica: City of Guilds and Guilds of Ravnica as the result of having 300 score.

Rettai, clearly worried and out of breath, practically falls through the entrance behind Kirino. "Hannah, is Karina h—" he cuts off abruptly as he notices Kirino's presence in the workshop. "You need to get to safety now. She is—she's an enemy of your mother's." A length of chain materializes in Rettai's hands as he drops back into a protective stance.Rettai, Diabolic Advisor Legendary Planeswalker — Rettai : Rettai becomes a 3/3 Advisor creature with indestructible and menace until end of turn. Whenever he deals damage to an opponent this turn, that player sacrifices an artifact or enchantment. : Search your library for a card and reveal it. If it's a land card, put it onto the battlefield. Otherwise, put it into your hand. Then shuffle your library. : You get an emblem with "Sacrifice a permanent: Target permanent gains hexproof and indestructible until end of turn." Aiding Hannah against Kirino! Lady Mapi Hannah lightly accepts the bottles and places them on the ground next to the oscillator, hoping that their invasiveness of her work will remind her to give them to her mom. As her exhaustion is taken from her, Hannah seems and feels significantly better, but there is still something strange preventing her from returning to the normal, excited and energetic state that would be expected from a ten-year-old. I chuckle lightly.Rettai, if I were here to hurt the girl, you would've been too late. You're perfectly aware of what I'm capable of."I turn to Hannah, and sigh. I should be used to not being able to interact with humans normally anymore - it's been a few hours, after all."Hannah, little one, your mother is currently in the process of killing me. These bottles of wine are payment for services rendered, nothing more. Oh, and Rettai?"I produce another bottle."You can share this with Lance, if you wish. If not, it should be worth more money than some planes - it is pre-Sundering, after all."At that moment, I fall to the ground. Dead. My body quickly dissolves into sparks. The bottle didn't break, though, so if you want it... Rettai, Diabolic Advisor is love, if only for that -3. I want to see that on a nice spell yesterday. Everything else feels in order - that ultimate is pretty sweet, but I somehow doubt that you'll reach it (correct me if I'm wrong, but blocking Planeswalkers removes counters, right?). Still, that +1 will do some work, and is worth quite a bit on its own. A 10/10 solid effort, all around. Internal Equilibrator is... I recently learned about the joy of using tapdown effects for Control (a bit late on the draw, I know ). On the one hand, it seems pretty slow (though it does have good synergy with stuff like Fallowsage). On the other hand, it's not exactly hard to create charge counters. I could see it seeing play. An 8/10, if only because I feel like you could push it a little more.

Lady Mapi fluffydeathbringer"Miss Kirino...?" Hannah asks. She is trying not to cry, because she's clearly not familiar with people dying. As Kirino's body dissolves, Hannah is only left standing in shock.Hannah's shock only lasts a few moments as the machines and tools around her begin to glow with heat. "No! No, leave them alone!" she shouts as she run towards the fox, hoping to do something, anything to stop him.I'm not actually sure what to cast Artifact Insurrection. Probably about this? Also yeah this really hoses Hannah. 8/10 Break Concentration Instant Counter target instant or sorcery spell unless its controller pays . If you control a creature with power 2 or less, untap up to one land. A spellcaster can only cast a spell if they can concentrate for long enough to cast it.
sylphiodHannah steps backwards and glances towards the shack. "I can't... stay back!"My experience with Treasure Hunt is that it usually hits, like, two cards. Given that you can get Stolen Goods for 4 mana this could probably cost 3? 7.5/10 Evade Instant Counter target spell that targets a creature or player. If that spell targeted you or a creature you control, its controller reveals their hand.

"Hey, uh.... Mom...?" Hannah's voice wavers. Mom only briefly looked at Hannah with a wave when she returned tonight, and then went inside without saying anything. Now she sits in her desk with her head in one hand, staring at the empty page of a book with a pen in the other but without writing anything. Hannah holds the two bottles of wine, awkwardly but successfully.
"Yes, Hannah?" Arina replies without looking up at Hannah. She recognizes Hannah is less exhausted now, and that is all she finds important at the moment.
"Miss Kirino told me to give these to you..." Hannah places the wine bottles on the desk. Arina looks up only briefly at the wine bottles.
"Kirino...? Why?"
"Payment for services rendered, she said," Hannah says. Arina chuckles quietly and sighs. "She, uh... Miss Kirino said you were killing her... and then disappeared."
Arina pauses for a moment before responding. "She was not lying. She would have said that moments before I Severed her soul."
"But... Why?" Hannah's response is only barely a whisper.
"I wish I knew for certain. Aylin said she destroyed a plane, the Seventh Circle agreed that she was a threat... so I was hired to strike her down, and accepted to protect you."
"But she didn't want to hurt me!"
"I am aware. Now. I was not prior to engaging her." Arina shakes her head. "She thanked me for 'everything' as I struck her down. I wish I knew what she was referring to." Arina lifts her head and looks over the wine in more detail. "Are you alright?"
"Yeah," Hannah nods. "She helped me feel a bit better before she... went away."
"And your project?"
"Oscillator's finished. Working on the tunneler tomorrow." Hannah wraps her arms around Mom. "I'm gonna read a bit of what Master sent me. Not feeling tired right now."
"I will still be awake for a long time in case you need me. Ly-thei ria, Hannah."
"Love you too, Mom."
Arina never enjoyed Severing people. Just as it strips, disables, and destroys the soul of whoever it hits, Sever takes a toll on those who use it, for all but those beyond remorse. Taking a life is painful on its own.
Arina became accustomed to the loss of life. That was only natural as a daughter of Shaidosta. She could never become accustomed to Severing others, even if she found that she needed it more often than she would prefer to cast it.
There was a reason Arina stopped this line of work. For her family and for herself.
Arina is deep in recollection of the other people she has slain with Sever. She gains flashback as a keyword ability.

He inhales, seemingly smelling the air around him."She's been here..." he speaks, then stares at Arina, or so it seems, since an ornamental helmet is covering the entirety of his face, leaving only his lipless mouth and its disgusting set of teeth to be revealed "My name is Malextros" he adds, his voice deep, hoarse and smoky "And I believe you know a person I'm interested in finding. He smiles once more while awaiting to see the Arina's reaction. "I seem to have struck a nerve... Now don't get me wrong, I have no intentions to harm your daughter, even despite your refusal to cooperate. You don't even pose a threat to me. But your daughter is sick, and you must do something soon" he adds without a hint of remorse "But how can you? You couldn't even figure out this on your own... You need me.
