Rin flies into Hannah's residence, noticing Arina. "Hi! I, uh," they think for a moment. "Is Hannah here at the moment? I wanted to show her something she might find interesting. Something that can take full advantage of a resonance coil." Kamori Heart Artifact When CARDNAME enters the battlefield, put a charge counter on it for each artifact card in your graveyard. If you would lose the game, you may instead remove a charge counter from CARDNAME. If you do, your life total becomes 1 and you can't lose the game this turn. "Here lies Kamori Koma, first of Kassova. May she find the peace that her creations never did." -Inscription on Tombstone
This is not actually Kamori's Heart, just her Magnum Opus. By the way, I have no idea how to cost this.

korakhosArina's panic is present in her eyes, but she does not let it come through in her response at all. "Hannah is only physically exhausted from working far too much. She had had nothing else to do for three days now. She shows no other signs of aether exhaustion. Unless you know something I do not, of course."Slowly Decaying is about right, yeah. The hybrid mana in the text box on an otherwise mono-black card is a bit strange, as is the activated ability on a card that you toss over to your opponent and say "by the way you have this now". Otherwise balanced but those are very strange. 6.5/10 Refrain Instant Return target spell or nonland permanent to its owner's hand. Its controller may scry 1. Flashback Fleur
"Yes, she is just outside." Arina calls Hannah, and Hannah enters through the front door. She's holding a "Hannah, your friend has something to show you.""Oh! Hi Mis--" Hannah pauses as she cannot determine whether to say Miss or Mister. "Hi Bird-Friend!" Hannah excitedly looks at the device. "It's so pretty. I bet you could store all kinds of energy in it!"Hannah's got a few words, mostly because she's only 10 and doesn't know all the analytical practices she would need to figure out what the heck it actually does. I, however, can see exactly what this does and it's exciting. The fact that it can still eat a shatter probably means it's fine compared to something like Phyrexian Unlife? It's a bit concerning though. 9/10 Energetic Concentration Sorcery For each counter on target noncreature artifact, put another counter of that kind on that artifact. "When you get high energy concentrations, like what an energy core gets you, that's when things get exciting." -- Ativa, head engineer

Neottolemo "Mom's out doing research for her project right now. I could tell her to find you when she comes back, though?"Merlano Cryomancer is probably going to just be a 2/1 cantrip most of the time? The fact that it is a downside makes it probably fine, but I can't imagine the second half ever happening. 7.5/10 Data Storage Artifact Whenever a player draws a card, put a charge counter on Data Storage. , , Remove X charge counters from Data Storage and sacrifice it: Target player draws X cards. "You are her daughter? How delightful. Please do, Miss. Tell her I, Hyle Seritani, would like to challenge her. I shall take my leave now. Oh, and here's a black pearl for your troubles. Ta-ta."
Benthic Gift Instant Choose any noncreature, nonland card name. Search your library for any number of cards with the chosen name and put them in your graveyard, then search it for a card with the chosen name and put it in your hand.
Data Storage: The goes after the , I'm pretty sure. That said, this is an interesting design. It's going to get a lot of counters, not sure if that's good because it's going to let you draw a lot of cards or bad because there's going to be a lot of triggers that you'll have to track. Is it worth playing? Even though it's kinda clunky, the instant speed ability means probably yes. Pretty good design overall. 8/10

Refrain: I like the first clause of the card, but I think the flashback should cost . 7/10. "Oh, I know countless of things you don't" he says mockingly "But I'm assuming we're talking about your daughter's health. She is deteriorating, and faster than you think. Sure, it may look like physical exhaustion, but it's more than that. She was not meant to come here, and by letting her, you have signed hear death sentence." Malextros is evidently savoring every word. The fear of a mother over her child's safety is a perfect trigger to stirr the darkness in the soul. "She looks tired now, but I doubt she has more than a few days before it takes a real toll on her body. Of course when that happens I'll probably be far gone and you will have missed your shot, or maybe I'll still be here, and I'll gladly help you, but by then the price will have gone up. Take the opportunity while you still have it, is my advice. Just some information, that is all I need. Information on someone who you probably don't care much about, and your child's suffering ends right now!"Promise of a Cure Instant Remove all -1/-1 counters from target creature. For each counter removed this way, that creature gets +1/+1 until end of turn. "This will work... it has to!"

Rin chuckles. "You can just call me Rin. And yes, it certainly does store energy very well - it would have to in order to sustain a body. By the way, feel free to keep the Heart - this one's a replica I worked on as part of my biomechanics research. I think you could learn quite a bit from it. Not much to do with aether tunnels or that sort of thing, but," they think for a moment, "-most artifice is quite interconnected and there's no such thing as useless knowledge."CARD: This could probably be slightly cheaper - Vorel of the Hull Clade tells me this could probably cost or , given that it isn't repeatable and it's a lot more restricted. Still, can't deny this goes well with the heart. 7/10.

NeottolemoHannah accepts the pearl but is greatly confused by it.I kept trying to break benthic gift but didn't really get any further than "storm" where Gifts Ungiven is just better anyways. 9/10 Thorough Examination Sorcery As an additional cost to cast this spell, discard a card. Return target instant or sorcery card and each card that shares a name with that card from your graveyard to your hand. korakhosArina's breath stops as the dark being details Hannah's affliction. Whether he caused on its own or if it is truly a separate affliction no longer matters. All that matters is Hannah's safety. "Aylin is what the Zendikari call a lithomancer. She manipulates stone and rock and bends them to her will. On other planes I have heard them called geomancers. When I last saw her, she had power potent enough to kill any being it came into contact with, soulless or not. My research tells me that she is here..." Arina points at a location of a roughly drawn wall map. "... but I have never visited her residence myself. Now, what do you know of my daughter's condition?"Promise of a Cure could probably cost a mana less because for most creatures it's probably never being bigger than a total titanic growth, and Hapatra's mark strips counters with upside for only G. 7.5/10 Accept Aid Instant Copy target spell you don't control.

Accept Aid: I have no precedents for a card copying any kind of spell (and honestly don't know enough about the rules to tell what happens if you attempt to copy a permanent spell) but I believe you meant for this to be instant or sorcery only. I like the concept, I'm unsure on whether or not you should be able to redirect the copies since the spell is so cheap, but at the same time, most of the times your opponent is either targetting your stuff with removal or targetting theirs with a buff, neither of which you'd wish to duplicate without being able to change the target, although I do see something like this working in a Battlebond-esque environment. I'm gonna go with a 6,5/10.
"Unlike you or me, your daughter cannot travel the worlds regularly. She is lacking something to stabilize, and this shortcoming is causing the environment to slowly drain her lifeforce away, as if her body was losing components that are vital for it to work. It seems as it can be fixed in time if you return said component, so you are lucky I caught it early..." he replies with a smile "Your cooperation is highly appreciated, and I look forward to working with you sometime in the future." He turns around and leaves, dragging the dark mist with him. He really means his words, after all, for what he can tell, this woman has some natural ability to kill, and she's done it more than once before.

"Components that are vital for it to work..." Arina repeats after the demon vanishes. "Hannah!" she calls out from the inside of her shack. Hannah arrives shortly after, passing an aether tuner between her hands. "I need to do an internal analysis on you.""Okay," Hannah says as she slips her shirt off and relaxes her body for Arina. "But why?"Arina closes her eyes and places her hand on Hannah's chest, lightly channeling magic through her. How could she have forgotten that Hannah could not recover elemental energy? Why did she need to potentially trade the life of an ally to realize it? "Just as I thought," Arina said softly as she noted the relative concentrations of every of Hannah's elements. "You are entering aether exhaustion. Did Master Sara tell you about it?""We've talked about it in bioaetherics once. I don't cast spells, though.""Your body uses energy to stay alive, too. Breathing, fighting diseases, digesting food... Normally your body can recover that as quickly as it uses it, but as I am sure Master Sara mentioned, there is no aether here to keep equilibrium." Arina pulls her hand back from Hannah, who immediately puts her shirt back on. "I only have access to it because I am a planeswalker.""So, then... What?""You have an aether canister, correct? When you get worse, I want you to shatter it and allow the aether to form a cloud, then breathe that. Your body will recover itself."Hannah's eyes widen. "But I need that for my tunneler to work! How...""Master Sara will understand if you need another canister to keep yourself alive. But I need you to promise me that when you get worse, you will use the canister.""I will, Mom. Don't worry."Arina nods and smiles at Hannah. "You can return to your project then. Ly-thei ria, Hannah.""Love you too, Mom!" Hannah squeaks as she rushes back outside to continue her tinkering.
Hannah and Arina have unlocked the ability to use more energy in their spells and technology. Thus, both of their Converted Mana Costs are increased by 1.
Right, also Fleur
Hannah gasps in excitement. "Really? Thank you, Mi..." Hannah pauses again in her attempts to be polite before realizing she still doesn't have a word to use here. "Rin!"

Hannah's inhalations are sharp and her exhalations are expanded as she leans one side of her body against her tunneler, her hand slowly turning around the end of a conduit to lock it into place. Arina follows Karina, taking steps as fast as she can without plowing through the child. The man can follow if he cares; Arina does not. Arina needs only a few moments with Hannah's collapsed body to recognize exactly what happened. Hannah's breathing is staggered and irregular. Her body is radiating heat from the loss of her body's cooling mechanisms.
"She said... said she forgot to heal herself. She's going to be okay right?"Arina opens her mouth to curse, but cuts herself off before she says anything. A glance out of the corner of her eye notices the carefully placed glass cell of aether balanced on a flat section of metal. The object Hannah was supposed to shatter so she could recover properly. It was not too late, but Hannah would certainly be out of commission for at least a day or two while her body recovered.
Arina would have to ask Sara to send more cells. She does not answer the child immediately, but instead pulls the cell towards her. Lightly, Arina tosses the cell into the air and shoots a shard of ice through it, producing a cloud of white gas as aether spread out into the surrounding area. Arina closes her eyes and takes a deep breath of her own.
"She will be alright," Arina confirms with a nod and a sigh. "Provided she listens to my instructions and avoids working until she is fully recovered. I would have preferred she did that in the first place, so we could have avoided this issue, but... there is no use being concerned about what has already happened. I will have some interim work to do and stay... here to ensure she is alright. Thank you for calling me."So I thought the cards couldn't get better in flavor or more heart-wrenching? And like, very, very wrong. 10/10 Aether Energy Cell Artifact At the beginning of your upkeep or whenever you cast an artifact spell, put a charge counter on Aether Energy Cell. Mostly the rock was just kinda there to serve as something that could be reanimated since I don't have access to many of those. It being something that generated big mana seemed relevant to what Hannah's problem was.
"Sara, I will need you to gather and transport three more aether cells here.""Tunneler should only really need one. Why do you need three?""Hannah exhausted. I need to be able to keep her in an aetheric environment for the course of two or three days, and then we need a replacement for the one that I had to shatter to keep her alive.""Right, of course. Give me a few hours; we don't really have easy access to them at the moment."
"She should be alright for that time, but please try to hurry."

fluffydeathbringer"Stop it!" Hannah needed Mom but Mom was nowhere to be found. What would Mom do? Cast a spell. What would Mom do that Hannah could do?Creature with power 2 or less is currently my code for "kid" since it's also code for "small creature". I feel like Dead Ears's second mode is mostly only relevant against, like, Storm? But also that this is such a massive upside over Turn Aside (being able to serve as counter-counters, and also stuff that targets you, and also silencing the caster, compared to the color good at counterspells) and over Silence for the relevance decks that it should probably cost . 6/10 Replan Instant Return target spell to its owner's hand. If you controlled that spell, draw a card. (Predictably, picking up Break Concentration to fizzle Deaf Ears so Break Concentration can be recast) Arina lightly pushes through the door to the makeshift bedroom she set up for Hannah. In her hands are 5 large books that finally arrived from Entela. Finally, Arina repeats in thought with a chuckle. It has only been two or three days and one of the books had to be obtained from Litara. Arina has no idea how Sara managed to do it so quickly.
"Esia, you two," Arina greets with a positivity that she had lacked for weeks. Hannah was sitting up for the first time since yesterday. "Are you feeling any better?" "Yeah, kinda," Hannah replies, "Can't... stand yet without falling over but I'm feeling better than I started." "That may not have been such an issue if you restored your energy while your body was still functional." Arina places her pile of books on the desk and begins moving them from one pile into a new empty pile. "Hey, Mom? That's a lot of books." "It is," Arina agrees. "Four of them are for an ally named Reyhsia. Ancient history and bioaetherics. Two of them had to be printed in Entela because Entela does not publish physical copies of books anymore unless you specifically inquire about it."Hannah notices that two of the books are soft-covered. "So what's the last one for?" Hannah asks. Arina immediately hands Hannah a book titled "When Aether Left Us". "It is a fictional story about a girl approximately your age living in Mileran when the Aether Flux happened. As Entela's future Head Engineer..." Arina stressed the words that Hannah had proudly declared when she started studying core engineering, "I thought you may be interested in it. I hope it will give you something to do as an aside from working on your project.""Thanks, Mom." Hannah replies. "Iunno how interested Karina'll be in it though, so that'll maybe have to be later."
"I might! If I knew what a Mileria and an Aether thingy are.""Oh, right," Arina remembers. She continues before Hannah can make her thought known. "Karina, I need to go give these to Reyhsia. Could you please watch Hannah? And, make sure she does not try to work on her project in this state?""I'll make sure she doesn't touch a single pile of metal, miss Nisita.""Wasn't going to anyways," Hannah replies with a smile and a roll of her eyes.
"Excellent. Thank you, both of you."

A dark mist Arina recognizes all too well manifests in front of her, but this time in a much smaller dose than her last encounter with the demon. The demon also doesn't appear with his full body, just a smoggy reproduction of his helmet-covered head, floating ominously at Arina's eye level. I might be able to help her get better more quickly, after all."I let Karina lead me upstairs, and then I saw Hannah. She seemed to be exhausted but recovering. Why did I suspect anything different? "Hello there, Hannah. My name is Hanska - I'm a healer. Your mother said you were recovering, and I wanted to check on things myself - you can never be too careful, right?"I took another deep breath - if anything else was wrong, I'd pick on it. At that point, Mishka decided to hop out of my hood and onto Hannah's bed."Mishka! Don't startle me like that! Be gentle with Hannah."---Hanska is checking over Hannah. A small calico cat has jumped onto Hannah's bed and is currently getting nice and comfortable on her lap.Wildheath Cat - Creature - Cat When Hospital Cat enters the battlefield, it explores. , Remove a +1/+1 counter from Wildheath Cat: Put a +1/+1 counter on another creature you control. 1/2 Hopeful Greeting looks pretty good - though I wouldn't expect to see it outside of a set where counters bleed into Blue (like Ravnica). Still, there's precedence due to cards like Unity of Purpose. Still, I think it's off enough that I can really only justify giving it an 8/10

Arina is about to respond when Malextros vanishes.
I cannot leave Hannah, Arina thinks. Not again, and not now. Good luck, Aylin.Seeds of Doubt doesn't need to put a pile in their hand because they started there. I like this as a hand attack spell though; like a fact or fiction but for cards that already exist in their hand. 8/10 Stern Refusal Instant Counter target spell. Its controller loses 2 life. At the beginning of your upkeep, if Stern Refusal is in your graveyard, you may pay and exile it. If you do, you draw a card and lose 2 life. Lady MapiHannah is laying flopped on her bed wearing what would look to be very light sleepwear. Her hair is about as messy as one would expect from someone who hasn't been able to take care of it between days. As Hanska and Karina return, Hannah sits up on to the bed. "Hi, Miss Hanska," Hannah greets. She lifts her arms and lets them flop back down. "Do you need to, like, do an elemental analysis or something?"A small cat jumps onto Hannah's bed. Hannah's eyes widen and she lightly tries to back away from it, which fails when she realizes the creature has placed itself on her lap. "Uh... What's it doing?"Wildheath Cat: Not sure what this "Hospital Cat" is =P Has maybe a 50% chance of being a 2/3 that can donate a counter? Maybe it does something else special if your deck's built around it, just seems solid. 8/10 Confusion Instant For each creature you don't control, tap that creature unless its controller pays .

fluffydeathbringer "Stop it!" Hannah needed Mom but Mom was nowhere to be found. (Predictably, picking up Break Concentration to fizzle Deaf Ears so Break Concentration can be recast)
"Words! Still mere words! Show me action!" She could kneel. Throw a futile punch. Throw sand. Do anything, and he'd stop. Do something, child. Show me you can survive. Let me stop thi An Accuser knows no guilt. The stolen machines jitter ominously, as if making to strike against their creator. Perhaps, if the situation unfolds the wrong way, they will.
Replan: remand sidething that does the job but is begging for ft, 8/10
Ritual of Echoes
Instant Copy target sorcery spell you control. You may choose new targets for the copy. Heretic Ullech's discovery is still used in distant corners, ensuring that time is no obstacle for the utmost reverence.

"As'han ! I agree with your desire to temper others, but destroying the property of a child? That is neither right nor productive - I'm afraid I can't let this continue," the sheriff pulls out a magnetic device that protects Hannah's crafts, but does little to stifle the infernal heat. Wing Magnet Artifact When CARDNAME enters the battlefield, gain control of all artifacts you own. : Return target artifact you control to its owner's hand. For retrieving devices and artifices alike. Defending for Windy.

fluffydeathbringer"What do you want me to do?" Hannah cries. She collapses to the ground in despair, watching her futile attempts to defend her creation and tools from this monster."As'han! I agree with your desire to temper others, but destroying the property of a child? That is neither right nor productive - I'm afraid I can't let this continue,"Hannah looks up at the sheriff with tears in her eyes, but says nothing yet.Ritual of Echoes seems narrow, but also only costs 1? I wonder if this could also have a small thing like a scry on top of it because it's a reverberate with two downsides for a mana cheaper. 7.5/10 Child's Tears Instant Counter target spell. If that spell is countered this way, its controller may put that card on top of their library instead of putting it into their graveyard. Scry 1. A child's crying can break all but the hardest of souls. Not sure whether this should be trying to protect the magnet or to delay the Ritual of Echoes. It's probably supposed to delay the Ritual.
