Everyone was focusing on the hammer girl, but the background elements seemed nice as well, and since we'd have to crop part of the pic anyway, I gave it a shot like this. Resolution ended up kind of bad, so I made the card in an old format where art in this state feels more at home. The ghost seems to be creeping up on the girl from behind, so I thought about some kind of ghost spy/stalker and I kind of designed the card around that concept.

I'll judge this on the weekend.Judging! {Xenozfan2}This is a really good card for equipment decks. I like how the first ability tells you to go more wide than voltron. I think it would have been good enough on the second ability to do either hand or graveyard. Both seems a bit over the top.
{Tesagk}This reminds me of Mizzix of the Izmagnus. Only it's way less overpowered. It either wants you to curve out perfectly or have a way of sacrificing artifacts or enchantments. I bet this can go pretty crazy with Spine of Ish Sah and a sac outlet. {Boogymanjunior}Looks like a nice card. I'd say the cost is good if you play white but also good for splashing this into red decks.
{Idea}This is a fun combination of abilities. You have to give away a little information to see all their hand. It's also interesting that you need at least two cards in your hand to activate it. That forces you to do a little hand management.
{ludvikeverviolet}It's funny how this makes you consider destroying your own stuff. I imagine this can be really good in a deck with lots of auras since those tend to go to the grave easier than equipments.

{Old version without bottom chop} As MSE does it's thing with the flavour text meshing into the P/T: “It is best when the people you’ve sworn to protect lend something to improve on that.”
I think Champion has the potential for way more design space if it would not be narrowed down to "you can only champion creatures with a shared creature type". It made sense in tribal-themed Lorwyn, but for future sets I would like to see it get more design space, so I made my card the same way. At first, I wanted to make it UC, but didn't find any cards with ability-gaining effects that aren't at least rare, so I played it safe even though this here can only gain abilities from one other card. But the more I look at it, the more I think that making it rare is not even a stretch at all, idk.

Adherence to the Spirit of the Challenge- /1 Power Balance- /2 Synergies- /2 Originality- /2 Flavor- /2 Overall Enjoyment- /2 Total- /11 viriss I think this idea is super interesting. Each player gets to pull a couple of their creatures out of commission for a moment (thus allowing them both to spare at least a couple of their things without feeling utterly crippled by the disadvantage it might create if it was one-sided) and then everything gets blown up before those come back. Not only does this sound really fun in terms of the game state it creates and decisions the players have to make, it also matches up really well with the story of Re:creators, where the image is from (which is a bit more of an obscure show, so it's a nice surprise to see it at all referenced). I can't really think of any syngergies off the top of my head, but that's the one fault I could see in the card. Other than that, pretty great! Adherence to the Spirit of the Challenge- 1/1 Power Balance- 2/2 Synergies- 0/2 Originality- 2/2 Flavor- 2/2 Overall Enjoyment- 2/2 Total- 9/11 Flo00 This card screams tutor. And a repeteable tutor at that. The high cost for this and restrictions on what can be tutored do somewhat make up for it, so I'm a little conflicted on the subject, but it feels like a birthing pod and I've never found that card to be a fun thing to see on a game. It's by no means a bad design you made but the card just feels like it's asking to break the game not to get something interesting and interactive going. Adherence to the Spirit of the Challenge- 1/1 Power Balance- 1/2 Synergies- 2/2 Originality- 1/2 Flavor- 1/2 Overall Enjoyment- 1/2 Total- 7/11 ludvikeverviolet I....really don't get this card. It seems to actually be worse than just a scry cantrip, because it only lets you draw something if you get the card you named and you get to know what the next five cards are, but you can't necessarily change them unless you have a different effect. I'm supposing, though it isn't clear, that you always get to look at the top five cards of your library? I guess that makes the card a little better, but at the same time it's taking something minor to the extreme, an effect that ranges from useless to gamebreaking with little in-between. I don't think the idea is too bad, but I think it lays it's strenghts in the wrong places. Adherence to the Spirit of the Challenge- 1/1 Power Balance- 0/2 Synergies- 1/2 Originality- 2/2 Flavor- 1/2 Overall Enjoyment- 0/2 Total- 5/11 melono this is one of those situations where I look at the card then I look at the art and flavor text and I just can't understand how they go together at all. The card itself is very fun-looking, it's an odd and pretty interesting effect that could combine with cards that maybe exile themselves or exile cards you control as a drawback (none are coming to mind right now, but I'm sure there are some). Where the problem is is that the art seems to have just about the closest thing one could think of to exile, and the flavor text actually warns "doesn't mean it's in your grasp", which again seems suggestive of exile. For the card itself to then stop exile seems like a non-sequitur of the flavor and the mechanics. Adherence to the Spirit of the Challenge- 1/1 Power Balance- 2/2 Synergies- 2/2 Originality- 2/2 Flavor- 0/2 Overall Enjoyment- 2/2 Total- 9/11 Tesagk So....I'm assuming auras have the first effect and equipments the second, since auras don't equip? I think the wording on the card is pretty lackluster, no offense intended and with full aknowledgement that I myself make some pretty bad mistakes on the wording. But yeah. I think the drawing effect works pretty well with a mana cost discount (you play more stuff to draw more cards which may also cost less and let you draw even more cards), so overall the idea isn't half bad, but that "or" there really makes the thing hard to understand, or rather, knowing which of the the effects goes into what is more a matter of speculation as it is written, or maybe a matter of choice, it's confusing that's the point. Adherence to the Spirit of the Challenge- 1/1 Power Balance- 2/2 Synergies- 2/2 Originality- 2/2 Flavor- 1/2 Overall Enjoyment- 0/2 Total- 8/11 Boogymanjunior I really like this design, and though I had never heard of the champion mechanic before, now that I do it sounds like a really awesome one. I do feel like her military uniform does convey the idea of guard, and in addition to loving the word "calmsphere" in relation with the image, I guess I just love the name of the card in general. Power wise it seems pretty balanced, and giving a creature with additional abilities new abilities like this is not only something somewhat uncommon, it's also great room for syngergies. Overall, it seems like a pretty perfect card. I love it! Adherence to the Spirit of the Challenge- 1/1 Power Balance- 2/2 Synergies- 2/2 Originality- 2/2 Flavor- 2/2 Overall Enjoyment- 2/2 Total- 11/11 Sanfonier of the Night I like the cleverness in putting the image sideways and using that crop, it show ingenuity with the challenge! Because it's until the end of the turn, I do feel like the card should have costed just one blue mana and made the other one have flashback for the full converted mana cost, thus eliminating the need to add the extra words "minus one". Still, that's a pretty minor nitpick. The card is well flavored, and that flavor text really got to me. There's no denying the synergies and the effect has a pretty subtle originality of making the cost not need specific colors. I don't think it's a totally unique effect, but I think it's pretty original, so part of the reason I'm giving it a 1.5 is cause we'd otherwise have two cards with a perfect score. But feel free to look at it as it if it was Adherence to the Spirit of the Challenge- 1/1 Power Balance- 2/2 Synergies- 2/2 Originality- 1.5/2 Flavor- 2/2 Overall Enjoyment- 2/2 Total- 10.5/11 The winner is Boogymanjunior followed very very closely by Sanfonier of the Night !

A octopus shaped machine of some sort in a forest...how weird and potentially sinister. I had a hard time costing this thing. I'm not a developer to start with, and Phyrexian mana is dangerous. So I hope I'm not too far off the mark.

I couldn't help noticing how much that bottom part of the pic reminded me of an entrance to some like alien scifi tech cave, so I decided to work on something like that, but I also wanted to capture the sort of invasive feel of the overall picture, so I thought maybe something that could attach itself to lands would make sense. I was later informed that a mechanic of artifacts equipping to lands existed called "fortify", so that was the nail in the coffin, and I hope ya like it:

I'm curious, what's the flavor on this? (Or lacking any, I'm curious how the image inspired the mechanics since they seem so bizarre).
