Neottolemo Rudara did not comment on the distance of the newly formed landmass, deciding anywhere but where it had been before was good enough for her. Now, as for her 'building'... " It would be in the best interest of the mortals nearby that I don't exert my abilities for entertainment, Steirun," she answered, already the giant was wearing on her patience once more. "However, the remnants of a former concept are available for viewing." Without waiting for an answer, Rudara snapped one of her fingers, taking her to a nearby cliff overlooking her latest attempts at her own 'building.' She did not teleport the giant with her, but she had left a small vision for him to follow, given he already had the power to appear where he wished at will. At the level of the cliff was a series of massive floating landmasses, each with varying amounts of vegetation and of varying types and shapes. They were unpopulated however, left for animals to navigate to and from the varying ecospheres she had created on a whim. What was she planning here? {Response Card - Floating Microcosm } Steirun's Strength: I like this card, mostly because it reminds me of a dumb mono-blue bounce deck that did exactly what this card encourages you not to do. 10/10 Floating Microcosm: Not sure about the wording but this seems interesting, if maybe pushed (it's not that good t1 but afterwards it's probably going to be strong right away from the point it hits the battlefield). 9/10 Unlike what Rudara assumed, he couldn't teleport just anywhere - he just appeared to be teleporting because he was beneath the earth at the time. He walked his way to the cliff, maybe a little too carefree, even skipping a bit. Once he arrived...
If this had been another High Builder - Zagr, for instance - there would have been a lot of questions about her plans. Unfortunately, Steirun was Steirun.
"MARVELOUS! AMAZING! STUPENDOUS! BRILLIANT! AWESOME!
BE SURE NOT TO PUT TOO MANY OF THEM IN THE SAME PLACE OR IT WILL BE HARD TO SEE THE SKY BETWEEN THEM! GREAT WORK! I AM SURE EVERYONE WILL LOVE IT!"
Runic Skybridge Artifact , : Target creature gains flying until end of turn. , : Target artifact becomes an artifact creature with flying until end of turn. Its power and toughness are each equal to its converted mana cost.
Steirun doesn't actually build any bridges here, just for clarification.

The woman looked at him oddly at first, and than to his collection of tokens. His odd behavior didn't seem to phase her, once he had finished explaining she smiled, nodding her head. "Ah, you must be one of the first. Her Emminence is likely waiting for the right moment to let you continue on your journey." She opened her mouth to add something else, but her eyes picked up on something behind Rixos, before quickly returning to his. "Perhaps you might try again? I'm sure she is ready for her one such as you to approach her in the flesh." {Response Card - Glimmer of Change}Glimmer of Change - Instant - Target creature gets +1/+0 until end of turn. If it deals combat damage to a player this turn, discard a card, then draw a card. She points to a path that Rixos would be sure wasn't there before leading conveniently in the direction of the highest building in the city. "Thank you for your help, my lady." Rixos takes the new road all the way to the building. So, it was finally time to meet the godess. He had a knot in his stomach and the Thing was also very nervous. mrlozano The knock on the door was responded with a hollow echo, which was then followed by silence. This was most certainly the correct building, the highest building at the highest point of the city, so why weren't they opening up? Was this another test or... "Hmm, I wasn't expecting anyone till later," a remarkably calm voice spoke, followedby the sound of whooshing air and soft padding on the ground. Landing behind Rixos was a sphinx, not the largest of its kind, but certainly a remarkable specimen. "Are you here to meet the goddess? I think you're getting ahead of yourself." "After all, you still have one more trial left." {Response Card - Godgate Custodian} Call to the Gods: Could use a counter besides charge, but otherwise I like it. Like a Rhystic Study but the payoff isn't obvious to everyone involved. And no tax. 9/10 Parasign The flame crackles as VIA nears it, the purple flame swaying in the wind, and that ominous presence with orange eyes leering from within. Then in a moment too quick, the flames disperse, leaving only the empty brazier, with VIA's prize at the bottom, covered lightly in ash. {Response Card - Token of Ferocity} "You have learned to adapt. You have learned to unleash your power. Now, you must learn restraint," spoke the voice once more, now a whisper in the wind. "Seek the trial of Glory, where absolute power must be tempered by absolute resolve." Sensation Module: Should probably read "If one or more source" to prevent stupid mana gains. Otherwise, neat. 8/10 Neottolemo Rudara, despite knowing the origin of the compliment, gave the slightest smirk. "Of course they will. My will is absolute, and my works shall be there guiding aspirations." She looked over to the assemblage of floating rocks, considering the giant's words. "Yet, I do have more to consider. Mishappen stones do not make adequate locations for building. Making the land into more...suitable shapes, will require practice." She turned back to the giant. "Will that be all, Steirun?" {Response Card - Bringer of Light} Runic Skybridge: I think we need more artifacts with abilities at different costs, but I'm disappointed the last one can't target itself. 7/10

Popcornia Token of Ferocity: Kind of odd it doesn't just create a 4/4 hasty Elemental; I'm not sure making it a land that taps for mana is a big enough difference at that scale to justify the extra words and unnecessary shuffling. (Also, I thought land animation was the Trial of Adaptation's thing, so that makes it extra weird). Other than that, it seems like a fine continuation of the cycle. 8/10.Restraint? You're one to talk, 'R'. She picks up the token and rolls it between her fingers, rubbing the ash off the smooth metal. Then she stows it in her cloak and leaves to find the Trial of Glory.Temperance Module Artifact : Add . Spend this mana only to cast a spell. Parasign VIA's path would take them away from the rubble and ruins of the previous trial, and return them to the more urban developments. Along their way, they would see men and women dressed in garments, some sporting ceremonial attachments, and a growing noise of cheering in the background. It soon became clear what the commotion was. Dug into the earth and constructed as a bowl was an arena, with an audience split into two half-circles surrounding an impressive field. The field was an array of obstacles, both from monsters and from traps, built around a center platform that rose up from the obstacles below. As suspected, the purple brazier burned bright up top, with it's host seeming to observe the events below. To the side, there was a groan of wounded individuals, likely those who had attempted the trial themselves. It seems this would require both skill and strength to succeed. {Response Card - Trial of Glory} Temperance Module: Ooh, I like this. I feel like the secondary mode should have an actual cost, to make it less useful if you're not optimizing it's primary use. 8/10

Popcornia Trial of Glory: This seems much weaker than the other Trials, given Assault Strobe has the same effect on a 1-mana common. This could probably stand to cost just or give the target some additional benefit. 8/10.VIA pulls the cloak tighter around herself and slips through the crowd, carefully maneuvering her way to the front to get a better view of the arena.Fitting that the Trial of Glory would be the most popular. One of the workers turned to her, evidently uninterested in hearing what the quickly devolving argument entailed. "Well, we're standing her till we figure out what to do. Those two have everyone picking sides, and neither is eager to give up to the other's demands." The worker, old, yet still carrying themselves with pride, glanced back at the much younger men who were in charge. "They both understand they can't get anything done without the other, but they don't care, long as they get what they want." I frowned. "But, they have to care, right? That's what the trial is about?" Hmm, maybe they were like the guy at the maze? Point out it didn't make sense? I walk back to them and slam the Sunspear into the ground to get their attention.
"Hey! This is the trial of sol-i-dairy-tee, that means we have to work together! So why are we arguing instead of trying to do that?"

Parasign As the the hook soared through the air, a gasp came over the audience as a shadow dashed through the air. In the blink of an eye, the hook was parried, and then pulled, forcing VIA to enter the grounds of the arena. Once they had gathered themselves, they would see their attacker. Flying above, with the hook wrapped around the head of the halberd, an aven flew above the arena, looking down at VIA. "Have you no valor, contestant? Do you think you'll simply succeed by circumventing the challenges of this Trial? Show some restraint, youngling. Even if the path is easy, it's not always the best path to take!" {Response Card - Skyvale Halberdier} The figure in the brazier, looked briefly towards VIA, but made no show of dissatisfaction. They seemed to understand VIA had learned their lesson. "Well youngling? Will you face the trial with dignity? Or shall I send you with your tail feathers dragging behind you?" Line-Slinger's Hook: Reminds me of Razor Boomerang, but in a good way. This one is simple enough that it doesn't make you go through a ton of hoops to get it's effect. I still think the second one is way too good though. 6/10 cajun It was an understatement to say that the gathered workers jumped[/card] once Karina slammed her spear into the ground, and all assembled definitely paid attention to her. They all looked to each other when she had finished speaking, one coughing in the background before someone spoke up. "Well, we do need someone to make sure we keep the pressure right and..." "No no, I've got that, get someone to work on..." "She's a child. I'll do it...just focus on.." Soon, the two groups were conversing with each other, rather than letting one person from each dominate the conversation, even the two would be leaders had resumed speaking with each other, their expressions far more friendly than they had been before. {Response Card - Communal Endeavor} Karina would eventually be led to one of the less dangerous machines to help how she could, which mostly meant keeping the person at the helm focused while everyone else settle into their work. "Ready? Steady? Let's start it up!" Machinery became to move once more, and Karina watched as the two groups were now one, putting their work together for one goal. The brazier lit, to no one but Karina's notice. Helping Hand: Nice use of affinity. Definitely feels like a decent combat trick, turning most encounters over to your side. 10/10

Popcornia Skyvale Halberdier: Not really a fan of unconditional flier removal in white, since it's already so close to green mechanically, but I can't say it's a break. Feels more rare than mythic to me, though I can see why it might be enough of a bomb in the right limited format to make mythic rarity necessary. 8/10.From under the tattered remains of her cloak, VIA's faceless gaze meets the aven's. The hook steadily unwinds itself from the halberd and retracts into her arm."Apologies, sir. And thank you. It's refreshing to have a trial's rules clarified for once."She had, of course, mapped out the safest-looking route to the brazier as she observed it from the crowd. The signs of exhaustion are clear in his body, he has bags under the eyes, one of his wounds is still open... "I've had enough trials." His voice sounds tired but resolute. He takes his gloves off, removes the bandage from his right hand and quickly draws some runes in the air. "Next." The sphinx feels itself sucked out of the world as Rixos opens the door without looking back. Rixos' Refusal Instant Exile target nonland permanent. It's controller loses 3 life. "No more trial. Also, the guy is going to have the crap beaten ot of him, right?
Godgate Custodian: I think it's fine at rare, but it's probably weak? You don't cast that many enchantments outside of a dedicated deck, so that's probably the only place. I dunno 8/10

cajun The brazier burns bright, the familiar eyes of Rudara peering out from within the flames. It was difficult to tell, but was that a hint of a...smile? "Well done Karina. You have much charisma to remind your elders of their duties to themselves and each other," the goddess spoke. " Your next trial, however, will not be so simple. This time, in the Trial of Renewal, you, must learn the lesson to be taught."The flames dispersed, with the trial's prize sitting at the bottom of the brazier. {Response Card - Token of Solidarity} "Find your way to the bottom of the city. Your last trial awaits." Overcharged: Easily abuseable, effectively doubling your mana, giving artifact creatures vigliance, and probably more. 3/10, higher cost, or more colors, 3 CMC doesn't cut it. Parasign Satisfied, the aven retreated from the skies, to let the Trial do its work. The path, indeed, was initially safe, though safe was subjective. Safer would have been more apt to describe the obstacles that VIA faced, than what the others likely faced. At one point, however, a trap that was easy to avoid came into VIA's way. The path around it was obvious enough. Too obvious. Something was special about this obstacle. {Response Card - Fools Entrapment}Fool's Entrapment Instant - Fool's Entrapment deals 2 damage to target creature. If it's attacking and isn't blocked, Fool's Entrapment deals 4 damage instead. In a moment of supreme cunning, the architect designed a trap where circumventing the trap was the purpose in itself. Tactician's Map: Reminds me of a Nahiri's Machinations effect, except this is a straight buff. For a general artifact, this is reasonable, and deceptively useful if you have the board to sport it. 10/10 mrlozano The sphinx looked surprised at the indignity, eyes wide as it quickly dissapeared, sent far off to another side of the plane, forced to drag itself back to the city, which Rixos likely had presumed would take enough time for them to find what they wanted. Within a moment of him opening the door, a popping sound was made in front of him, and quickly emerging between him and the inner hallway, was the same sphinx, looking much less patience than she had before. "The Godhead, is not seeing you yet, Trialgoer." {Response Card: Back from Beyond} Rixos's Refusal: Not sure. One mana less and this makes you take the life loss, according to precedent. Unmake works at 3 mana in triple hybrid white/black, and this is more restrictive, so maybe? 8/10

Popcornia Fool’s Entrapment: This feels a bit disappointing at rare, and I don’t think the “isn’t blocked” part works how you want since you could just cast it before you block. 7/10.VIA stops in front of the trap. Something’s off here. I need more information.
She extends a thin, segmented metal rod several feet from her palm, and tentatively pokes at the trap and the suspiciously clear path around it.

The Trial of Renewal can be found at the bottom of the river, just before it returns to the undercity. Keep it safe, always." {Response Card - Vitabloom} Paired Resolve: Interesting, and the amount of setup this takes (as well as the limited number of walkers who you can double to get their ult) makes this neat walker support, plus counter support. I like it. 10/10 Parasign As likely expected, the trap sprung upon the easier path, the pole in question being decimated by the mechanisms, and leaving no path in that direction for VIA to travel. It seemed they would have to take the route that was meant to be dangerous. {Response Card - Trepidation Snare}Trepidation Snare Artifact - Trepidation Snare enters the battlefield tapped. , : Destroy target attacking creature unless it's controller pays . If they don't, sacrifice Trepidation Snare. Ten Foot Pole: Interesting, hand reveals in any color are definitely tempered by the free card use. Popcornia Trepidation Snare: This feels fiddly enough to be uncommon, but I like the concept and it seems appropriately costed for bad common colorless removal. 9/10.VIA studies the obvious trap, taking special note of the pendulum and the snare. Parasign VIA safely made it to the other side, the trap unsprung as she soared over it. It would seem obvious what the point of this trial was at this point. The obstacles of this Trial were meant to be faced head on, perhaps as part of the lesson. The path ahead was clear of major annoyances, with the floor tilting upwards. It was probably going to be more difficult from here on. Maneuvering trough the trial, VIA was suddenly met with an explosion ahead, their vision temporarily shrouded by smoke. As the cloud cleared, the source of the explosion was obvious, a goblin wielding an arsenal of highly suspect explosives, and they were standing on top of what used to be a sentry of some kind. They turned to VIA, juggling a bomb in one hand threateningly. Competition between runners it seemed was not off the table. {Response Card - Blowback Vandal} Springstep Engine: An interesting card, but I can only imagine this getting printed for one mana more and having it all be colorless mana. Aggro wants this, mid-range, and maybe some out-there aggro control deck, just to have three spare mana for responding to stuff. Dangerous, but not degenerate. 8/10

cajun The journey to the river was somewhat difficult, not many roads that were meant to be walked upon led to the destination. Karina would see remains of previous homes, occupied or unoccupied. In some places, nature had begun to encroach on the remains, with several broken homes sporting trees sprouting through their rooftops. The road was uneven, scattered, and Karina was forced to backtrack several times before she reached the river. Here, it was difficult to tell where life ended and death began. Gnarled trees sprung from the soil, the water was thick and covered in green algae. A few swine foraged amidst the area, searching for choice mushrooms that had likely sprouted in amidst the decay. The flower was beginning to wilt a bit, despite Karina taking care of it. In the distance, a purple flame, hidden behind a circle of trees, shed it's light across the swamp. The Trial, it seemed, had already started. {Response Card - Trial of Renewal} Bring Along: Given the CMC requirement, this is probably fine compared to what Sun Titan can do. 10/10 Parasign The goblin looked from the explosive in their hand, to VIA, then back again, before she suddenly stood up. "hah!" Quickly, with little regard for herself it seemed, she threw as many bombs as she could at VIA, all in various states of primed to blow or not lit at all. Amidst the rush of explosives, she tried to run, clearing the space and heading to another section of the Trial. {Response Card - Chained Demolition} Remote Detonator: Most artifacts check if they've been destroyed, not if something else was nuked, and the only example I can find is Summoning Station. Not necessarily bad, creatures check for stuff dying all the time, but generally they don't trade themselves in along with the dying creature. It's a weird card, but probably safe. 8/10 mrlozano The sphinx smiled, before she walked to the side, revealing a purple brazier that had definitely not been there before. The figure was not present, at least in the flame, but Rixos would likely feel the familiar stare nonetheless. "How much are you willing to offer to reach the end of this, Trialrunner? The devoted must grant tribute, one way or the other." {Response Card - Trial of Tribute} One Last Trial: Interesting riff on Reanimate, with the wording making it so even in stuff like a Griselbrand strategy you can't get net life out of the deal. I like how the damage is symmetrical, but cards like Platinum Emperion just shrug it off. Maybe one more mana. 8/10

cajun The journey to the river was somewhat difficult, not many roads that were meant to be walked upon led to the destination. As the flower wilts, Karina grows more and more discouraged. "Hold in there, little flower."She could see the light of the brazier, but no way to reach it. She threw a few rocks in the swamp to test how deep it was, without much help. Finally, she sighed and crouched down, digging out a bit of the soil to plant the bloom. "I'm sorry, little flower. I couldn't do it. Maybe this will help you, though." Wilting BloomLand , Pay 1 life: Add or . , , Sacrifice Wilting Bloom: For each color of mana spent to activate this ability, return one card of that color from your graveyard to your hand. Popcornia Chained Demolition: I think this would be more interesting if it started face down, like a Hidden Agenda. As is, it seems fairly easy to play around unless you get lucky with your draft picks or have an unprecedented amount of noncreature permanent destruction in the format. The gap between useless and devastating here seems a bit too thin. 8/10.Calling it a detonator was a bluff, but the device is quite functional. As VIA tosses it at the approaching bombs, it evaporates into a massive cloud of foam. Muted explosions sound behind her as she dives to the ground, evading any of the inexpertly thrown bombs that manage to make it through.
Then she stands up, brushes herself off, and continues approaching the pillar.Foam Grenade Artifact , , Sacrifice ~: Each permanent you control that's a target of a spell or ability gains indestructible until end of turn. If you control two or more white permanents, draw a card.

cajun As the flower settled into the soil, it looked as if for a moment there was hope for it, before it visibly began wilting more. Yet as the life drained from the flower, the river began to burble, the pigs in the background screeching as the decaying plant life of the swamp began to shift and creak as it moved. Emerging from one of the more feasome trees, a face began to form from bark, eyes closed as its mouth opened, almost groaning in agony. The tree's mass surged forward, more details of the face forming as it turned to face Karina, its bark groaning as it shifted and moved. "Why? Why do you bring life, knowing it will die?" {Response Card - Cycle of Life} Wilted Bloom: Llanowar Wastes but with added utility. The pain is unavoidable, which I think is fine given how this lets you return a bunch of stuff. 9/10

My shoulders slump with the flower. I couldn't even do this right. Maybe I should just go home. I'm sure Rixos would like to buy the tokens later.
Then the sounds of the forest got more... people-y. I looked up and let out a scream a the groaning face, stumbling backwards as I tried to get away before I heard the question.
I thought for a minute. "I... don't know," I admitted. "The man in the city said to take care of it. I thought maybe it would be okay again if it got replanted."
"Even if it might die... I don't think that means you shouldn't try?"Small Minded Enchantment You may cast spells you with converted mana cost 2 or less as though they had flash. Once each turn, you may pay rather than pay the mana cost for a spell you cast with converted mana cost 2 or less. Cycle of Life - weird Living Death thing, which suggests not terribly green. 8/10

The sphinx smiled, before she walked to the side, revealing a purple brazier that had definitely not been there before. The figure was not present, at least in the flame, but Rixos would likely feel the familiar stare nonetheless. "How much are you willing to offer to reach the end of this, Trialrunner? The devoted must grant tribute, one way or the other." {Response Card - Trial of Tribute} "I'm a merchant. I don't make offers, I fulfill requests. What does the goddess want? I'll give it to her. Everything." Well, probably not everything. But they don't need to know that.Sacrificial Goat Creature - Goat When ~ dies, if it was sacrificed, you gain 3 life and you draw a card. "My lord, accept this offering."1/1 Trial of Tribute: The wording should be " You gain 1 life for each permanent..." and "Activate this ability only if you gained three orm more life this turn." Outside of that, it's nice. It's somewath dangerous the fact that it combos with itself. 8/10

mrlozano The sphinx tssked, shaking her head as she settled to the side of the hall, observing Rixos. "You don't understand. If you give everything you have, then it wasn't worth having to begin with. The less you give, the more it must mean. Even if it's value is not obvious, the one item speaks more than the many." {Response Card - Hungering Altar} Sacrificial Goat: While death effects are common, cards simply do not check to see if they were sacrificed to another cards effect very often. Only Foul Emissary as I can find does this, but the goat has the benefit of being less niche. At common, it fits the rarity of the effect, but the condition irks me. 7/10, as there's nothing else wrong besides personal opinion. cajun "...Fool," the tree answered, it's boughs shaking as it shifted more, roots beginning to erupt from the ground. The squeals in the background grew louder, the swamp itself seeming to come alive from this tree's agitation. "All things die, even the most precious of all living things. To deny its death is to deny its existence. If it wishes to die, it shall die. If it wishes to live, it shall live. But death, is not the end of what it brought in life." The flower was nearly gone none, barely a husk of it's former self, but still barely alive. "What does this flower bring in death?" {Response Card - Deaths Legacy} Small Minded: Interesting. It seems like a nice build around card, and the risks of any free cantrips requires you to build specifically for the card. I like it as a strategy-defining card, like Experimental Frenzy. 10/10 Parasign She was nearing the end of the trial. The further she traveled, the more difficult the obstacles became, but it had the convenient effect that fewer other trialgoers were present as she progressed. Eventually, she would reach what seemed to be the last platform before the pillar... But she was not alone. Standing between her and the path to the brazier was a heavily armored warrior, wielding a shield and an axe. They had positioned themselves with their arms spread wide in front of them. A challenge. There was nothing in this part of the Trial to impede their fight, in either's favor. It seemed this was a pure test of ability. {Response Card - Unstoppable Sentry} Foam Grenade: Needs to be rare, as this can be a Heroic Intervention when it needs to be, in all colors, even with the limitation. Otherwise I like it. 8/10

Popcornia Unstoppable Sentry: This is a cool concept, though at rare it should definitely cost less or have a bigger body. 8/10.Why are all these challenges martial? Are you training a strike team, 'R'?VIA sizes up the warrior, taking note of their movements. Fluid pumps ever faster through artificial veins as she draws a sharp metal rod, the fused wreckage of her trap-springing pole.
What am I doing? I've never fought hand-to-hand before. Why am I even considering it? And why does it seem so... exciting?
Restraint, VIA. Stick to your strengths and you'll never learn.

He knows there were five, and now six. He knows there will be at least one more.He hasn't the slightest clue what any of that knowledge means. There's another scream. This one doesn't belong to him.
