Parasign The warrior stance slightly changes as VIA springs at them, looking as if they were about to try and deflect the blow, before quickly moving out of the way, dropping their axe as they hold their shield above them ensure the spear doesn't strike them. Even then, it manages to pierce the shield. They instinctively drop it, now on their knees, defenseless, VIA clearly having superior strength. "I yield." {Response Card - Yield to Force} Forced Victory:Minor caveat, but this doesn't prevent him from regaining Indestructible once he attacks. Look at Archetype of Courage for example, it states it can't "Have or gain." Depending on when this card is used, which by the effect, I assume before it attacks, it will still have indestructible when it attacks. To summarize, it should read "Loses Indestructible and can't have or gain indestructible" to prevent it regaining it. This does depend entirely on when you cast it though, so 9/10 for timing and layers issues. cajun The tree's intimidating presence began to shrink as Karina answered, the noise in the background seeming to subside as the tree spoke. "Child, this is a lesson you perhaps are too young to learn. Many who have lived longer still struggle to understand it. Perhaps it is best that you do not know the answer. Failure...is disheartening. But sometimes, knowing the answer...brings the burden of knowledge." The face began to sink back into the tree, its gnarled roots returning into the ground. The flower was still wilted, but...perhaps not dead just yet. {Response Card - Burden of Knowledge } Lacking Expertise: Definitely an interesting card when going against a deck that stays on curve. The only confusion I might see is that you can't cast another card of the type you're countering to negate the effect if its an instant or sorcery, but you can if its a permanent. I like the angle of attack for this spell however, and its a good way to try more counterspell variants. 9/10

The sphinx tssked, shaking her head as she settled to the side of the hall, observing Rixos. "You don't understand. If you give everything you have, then it wasn't worth having to begin with. The less you give, the more it must mean. Even if it's value is not obvious, the one item speaks more than the many." {Response Card - Hungering Altar} Rixos looks at the sphinx. It seems like he is not going to be able to cheat in this trial. He takes out a small ball of metal, not from the Coat, but from his shirt. The ball unravels, revealing a little clockwork scorpion. Rixos puts it into the brazier. "After father adopted me, my sister gave this to me as a gift. It's simple, but it meant a lot for me. I had a family. At last." Rixos looks at the sphinx, and a tear runs down his cheek.Meaninful Loss Sorcery As an additional cost to cast ~ sacrifice an artifact or creature. A book shows up on Rudara's doorstep or general entrance. It appears to be mostly harmless, but there's the faintest hint of black, red and green mana that pulses from within it. There's also a rather menacing description on the front of the book...
Worldshaker's Decree Enchantment When CARDNAME enters the battlefield, destroy target nonbasic land or artifact. Whenever a land or artifact is put into a player's graveyard from anywhere, CARDNAME deals 2 damage to that player. It is said that Worldshaker, a goblin of great power, split the city of Kakkoa in two with such force that the land remains uninhabitable to this day.

mrlozano The sphinx raises a brow as Rixos placed the object, but made no further statements as the metal scorpion slides into the fire, soon lost within the purple blaze. Nothing happens for a moment, as if the offering was unsubstantial, before the fire quickly was snuffed out. At the bottom of the brazier was another token, with a sheen that indicated it was made from the same material that the scorpion had been made from. {Response Card - Token of Tribute} "You may enter," yawned the sphinx, who stood up from her side of the room and began walking towards the door. "I believe she'd like to meet you now." Meaningful LossThis is much stronger than Alms of the Vein, which costs more even without the sacrifice. The 10 life difference this card makes is too much for how little it costs. 4/10
Rudara was not one to appreciate surprises. She respected privacy, and understood when information was withheld for a variety of petty mortal reasons, but she did not allow such things to let her stoop to their level. Surprises were a spice of life only mortals could enjoy to its fullest. Thus Rudara was less than pleased to find the book at the door to her inner sanctum. Though she lacked appreciation of the surprise, the goddess was not lacking in curiosity. She picks up the book, and her eyes glance over the description. "Hmm. In the case this does come to pass, responding to the damage would be simple," she spoke to herself. {Response Card -Earthknit} Worldshaker's Decree: So a Demolish on a combined Dingus Egg and Magnetic Mine. A bunch of effects on one card from other cards that exist is....eh? I can't say anything particularly special about this. Should definitely be rare, as those two artifacts I mentioned, are in fact, rare. 7/10

mrlozano Rixos walks through the halls of the goddesses's domain, his path thankfully straightforward as he ventured deeper and deeper into the palace. He was not alone in his journey, several guards were station along the sides of the hall, watching him as he passed into their goddess's domain. If he even had the energy to do something, they would likely be there to stop it. After an eternity, the hall opened into one large, circular room, with a raised platform at its center. A throne was placed upon its high center, with a woman staring down at him. Surrounding her were more gods, attendants, and more depictions of her insignia. It appears he had found their god. As he approached, two guards stopped him spears held in front of him as he neared the throne. The woman gestured to them, and the two guards put away their spears, apparently she had no need to worry about him. From here, it was much easier to describe this woman whom the people of this city worshipped. Tall, beyond even the tallest humans. Skin paler than snow, robes that trailed to the ground, six arms, two pairs of which were clasped in front of her, and a set of midnight black feathery wings behind her. For a goddess, she seemed to fit the physical description. "Rixos Ker. You have struggled through the Trials of this day, and found success. You are among the first of many to claim my eternal favor." She spoke with a authoritative, yet reassuring voice. Was this the person whom he had helped all that time ago? {Response Card - Godwitness} "Will you accept your reward?"
Rixos, The Trialgoer: I like this. Really a good culmination of the stuff he's done so far. 10/10

Rixos had never seen a god before. Rudara was in fact, impressive. What she had build in such a short time was worthy of praise. Rixos felt so small, surrounded of Her greatness. And yet, he didn't fear her. She was impressive, but Rixos was resolute. To do what had to be done. Whatever that meant."Will you accept your reward?" Rixos was tempted to say a simple 'yes"."You sold something quite dangerous to someone with ill intent, and people died because of it—and this isn't the first time it's happened, though you're probably not aware of it. ... And whether you see it or not, you're responsible"
"Your actions are entirely at your own discretion, of course. We're simply reminding you that your decisions have consequences..." "You may have some form of what you call decency now. But the temptation is too much for you, I'd wager." "Of course you don't want to hurt people. You don't think you will. But is that not the merchant's way? For one to gain, another must lose, of course. Such is the course. We do not fault you - nor would anyone. But the thought will eat at you, night after night, as you lay in a home with our family. ... The most pure of men fall to temptation, whether on accident, or a decision. ... We see men like these give in all the time." "You seem like a good guy, you wouldn't want to be responsible for someone committing a planar genocide with your wares." Rixos felt the gaze of the guards in his neck. The old gods, looking down on him. Rudara, waiting for a response.
He saw himself after the hat incident, talking to the 7CI. He saw himself before that book, corrupted by power. He saw himself before a vampire, taliking of gods and then on a dark alley. He saw himself before the Ominous, defiant. He was that man. Not the young merchant who arrived at the Arena, just to make money. Not the old greedy man. Not the guy who felt something was wrong, but took the money. He was the man who had confronted a monster older than time itself. A man who went to this city to obtain answers.
Rudara looked at him. And now he feared. But he had a letter in his pocket. From his sister. He was needed in his home plane. But this had to be solved. The Thing crawled to his arm and stayed there, conforting.
Rixos had to. It was his responsibilty to ask the question and act in consecuence."I will gladly accept the reward. But first I need to ask you a question. Why? What's your objective? What do you want to achieve with this?" Rixos had hope. Not faith. But a tiny bit of hope. Maybe the goddess wasn't villanous after all. It was a very small hope.Leyline of Conviction
Enchantment If ~ is in your opening hand, you may begin the game with it on the battlefield. Whenever a creature card is put into your graveyard, if it wasn't put there from the battlefield, return it to your hand. Godwitness: The dot afer "2W" bugs me 0/10 I'm a little bit concerned about a one mana 3/3 but given that all gods cost at least three mana , it might be fine. I like the Godcycling. 8/10

mrlozano Rixos asks his questions to Rudara. The air stirs around them ever so slightly. We have paid little attention to this bug known as Rudara, but We know We do not like her. What is the human saying? The enemy of Our enemy is Our friend? Perhaps it is not a total waste to assist this merchant. He may prove very, very useful in the future, and has proven quite useful already.Ominous Confidence Enchantment Whenever a creature you control dies, gain 1 life. mrlozano , gurfafflekinsRudara observes the merchant for a moment more, the air tense from her silence as well as the apprehension of everyone else present in the room. Rudara gave no expression as her amber eyes seemed to bore into the merchant, the silence dragging on until... "My purpose here," Rudara began, as started to walk down from her throne, her staff clinking against each step, "is to enlighten people of the true god in their midst. Myself. There are other gods, this I don't deny, on this world in its far corners, and on other worlds that I have yet to grace." She stopped several feet away from the merchant, her presence more intimidating than before. "To you, perhaps this is akin to a tyrant who explains their reasons of claiming power, but my desires are far from wanting mere, petty, power." "I do what I must for unity. All shall know my name. All show speak my name. If they worship me, or choose not to, they shall still know of me. For every soul who speaks of my name, their neighboring peoples shall having a connection to them, and the person thereafter, until the world recognizes me."
"All will know my gaze, so that all might share a part of their world with all the others who speak of me." {Response Card - Astral Splendor} "Whether they worship my name or not."
Rixos: This is weird mill tech in Orzhov. While the flavor fits, the actual strategy that makes uses of this is more blue. 6/10Spoopy Ghost: Ominous Confidence This makes me happier than the shenanigans Ajani's Welcome does. Seems totally fine, could probably be common. 10/10 Parasign The path to the brazier is uneventful, a simply spiral staircase to the top of the pillar. As VIA steps to the top, a cheer erupts from the crowd, though not as enthusiastic as the ones she had heard before. Perhaps they had wanted something more. Regardless, the presence is still there, watching VIA as she approaches. "Overwhelming force, expertly wielded, can defeat a foe with nought but the smallest wound. You have more potential that you allow others, or even yourself, to believe. When you do let it out, however..."The fires flickered, and VIA would swear they heard the slightest chuckle. "It's glorious." {Response Card - Token of Glory} " Find your way to the top of the city," the voice spoke as the fires evaporated, leaving the signature prize at the bottom of the brazier, "the time has come for you to ascend." The crowd gave one more cheer for VIA. Despite how unshowy she was, they still knew an accomplishment when they saw it. Guilt Module: Reminds me of Wall of Frost, though I like the creative restriction for giving that ability to all colors. Very amusing. 10/10

Instant Exile target enchantment. Scry 2. "I came here looking for the truth."Astral Splendor: This seems great, but I'm sure it's underscosted. Being an enchantment makes it very resilient. The Worldshaker's prophecy comes to pass, but not in an expected form as the surrounding area attempts to reshape itself in a strange - but somewhat more functional way. If Rudara were to open the book, she would find a wooden knife, emblazoned with various runic carvings. The runes there are indecipherable. Earthknit: Neat removal with upside. I'd prefer if it destroyed up to one target artifact or enchantment so that you could recur lands, but that's a small nitpick because cycling already helps this not feel bad. Overall cool. 9.5/10.
Shifting Stones Enchantment When CARDNAME enters the battlefield, sacrifice a land. When you do, create two tapped land tokens named Wastes. They have " : Add ." : Until end of turn, CARDNAME becomes a green Elemental creature with trample and "This creature has power and toughness equal to the number of land cards in your graveyard." compare: Harrow

mrlozano Popcornia Interesting. This would warrant further stalking. Our aura of confidence continues on, but We are content to listen for now.Astral Splendor: This fits in WU but is also weird because WU usually likes their own abilities. And funnily enough two of these is a weird contradiction, because one of these is played, causing everything to lose all abilities, then another one played makes the first lose all abilities but then I don't know if that would cause some sort of loop or if order matters so the first would be a dead enchantment or what but still, it's a bit much for that cheap. 6/10.

mrlozano Rudara's brow furrowed just the slightest at Rixos's question, the intensity of her stare seeming to increase now that Rixos was daring to meet the goddesses's gaze. What force could lie behind those eyes, who was capable of doing all she had done so far? How would she react to such...impudence? {Response Card - Unremitting Gaze} "Yes," she answered curtly, giving the smallest smirk to the merchant before it faded as soon as it had appeared. "It is inevitable some will never accept me. There is room for dissent in my domain, even my powers have limits. Annihilating the faintest whiff of a disagreement with me is all but impossible." Her voice was unswayed, clear, and expressionless, but it seemed...softer than it had been before somehow. "It serves no one any good to deny or ignore my dissenters. They will inevitably exist, and I inevitably will allow them to, should they keep to themselves." See Beyond Erase plus 1 CMC for scry, it's definitely more useful than the original. I like it, it's a neat simple upgrade. 9/10 Parasign The path to the top of the city is long, winding, and littered with depictions of the Godhead. By now many of those preaching of her Emminence speak on the success of the trial goers and their victories, and more praises for the Godhead. VIA can see she is not the only one with the trinkets she's collected so far, but she is definitely the only one she can see who has three. Eventually, after much walking, she reaches the apex of the city, where the building she had seen as she ascended stood. {Response Card - Path of Accolades} A sphinx was standing in front of the door, observing VIA as she approached. "Another one already? You're here to see the Godhead, aren't you Trialgoer?" Glory Days: Nice. A better Hazoret's Favor in comparison. 10/10

mrlozano "I do not know." A few gasps emerged as Rudara spoke, her voice still steady as she allowed the admission to reach the ears of everyone in the room. But those gathered did not turn to chaos, that they had been lied to, that they had expected perfection from their goddess. No, it was more as if she had admitted a great personal secret of hers, and they had been permitted to hear it. "I do not claim to know the far future and distant past, nor can I claim that I will know the reasons or methods of those who might oppose all I stand to bring," she stepped closer to Rixos, her presence much less heavy and dark, and lighter and more...comforting as she neared him. "But if it is their will to hide from my graces, and they seek not to destroy what myself and my followers bring to this land and others, I shall not stop them." {Response Card - Truth Laid Bare} Truth Laid Bare Instant You gain 4 life. Each player may untap a creature they control. When you cycle Truth Laid Bare, each player gains 2 life. Cycling An admittance of faults makes a leader more powerful than hiding them. Trial of Truth: Hmm, the fact this is repeatable against the right strategy irks me, especially since the instant speed return makes this all but impossible to get rid of in a timely fashion. I like the flavor reversal though, and how it puts Rudara on the spot. 7/10

Come, your journey here is nearly over."The brazier's fire disappeared, leaving the characteristic token at the bottom. {Response Card - Token of Renewal} It seemed now it was the time to reach the peak of the city. What did Rudara have in store for her there?
{Formponder needs a rating} Renewal: Already a name Renewal, but I like it as a common. 7/10

"I do not know." A few gasps emerged as Rudara spoke, her voice still steady as she allowed the admission to reach the ears of everyone in the room. Rixos was surprised. He smiled for himslef. Maybe she wasn't that bad after all. "I see. I should apologize." She was vulnerable. From Rixos' point of view, that meant she wasn't a goddess, just a very powerful individual. She liked to be worshipped. Rixos respected that. "I suppose I'm not worthy of any reward, but I wish you good luck in your reign." Rixos bows before Rudara.Rixos, Truth Seeker Legendary Planeswalker - Rixos If you would gain life you gain that much life plus 2 instead. : Each player gains 2 life. Scry 1. : You get an emblem with "Noncreture spell your opponent's cast cost more to cast." and "Whenever an opponent casts a noncreature spell, you gain 3 life." Truth Laid Bare: I would probably always cycle this instead of casting it, but that's ok. 9/10( gurfafflekins, not sure if you are still interested)

The bridge of earth and roots reveals no other mysteries as Karina crosses, held above the treacherous swamp before sloping into the stable ground that surrounded the brazier. The presence was there, watching Karina as she approached. "Well done Karina Oblay. Even when it was uncertain, you still were able to find the answer from your experiences," the presence spoke, amber eyes fixed on Karina. "You are ready to find me at the peak of the city. Come, your journey here is nearly over."The brazier's fire disappeared, leaving the characteristic token at the bottom. It seemed now it was the time to reach the peak of the city. What did Rudara have in store for her there? I gently lift the token up and slip it on with the rest of the amulets. I take the Sunspear in both hands, still a bit uncertain about the whole thing, but a bit braver at her words.
I give a little smile, and begin the long trek back to the city.Sanaerti, the Golden CityLegendary Land Whenever you cast a multicolor spell, put a golden counter on Sanaerti, the Golden City. : Add . If there are three or more golden counters on Sanaerti, you may add one mana of any color instead. If there are ten or more golden counters on Sanaerti, you may add .
(Formponder oops that was 6/10) Token of Renewal - nice. 9/10

mrlozano Rudara gave the faintest hint of a smile, and it did not disappear as soon as her other expressions. " On the contrary, to give you no reward now would be a failure of my own fault. The worthy should be rewarded, and your reward comes now." As she spoke, the earth began to tremor, with many of the attendants present looking visibly worried, including the guards. Rudara, as expected, did not appear disturbed by what was happening, and raised a pair of hands to the ceiling. "By my power, Rixos Ker, you shall know the power of my realm. Go forward in your journey, knowing my blessing shall follow you whatever hill you crest, whatever pit you delve down into. Whether the skies are clear or red with war, my power is yours to call upon."...Rudara has spent 1 skill point to gain a mechanic. Ascend!{Response Card - Citys Reward} Rixos would suddenly feel light shining on him from above as the tremors subsided. The light made him feel strong, powerful. The exhaustion in his body quickly faded under the radiance, as if he was renewed in mind, body and spirit. It soon faded, Rudara's hands still outstretched, but there was still some of it left in him. A warm feeling in the back of his soul. Like he was welcome here. Rixos has gained a trophy!
{Trophy: Rudara's Blessing} You may use the mechanic Ascend when creating cards that are noncreature artifacts! You will always have the city's blessing when the effects of these cards are used!Rudara let out a breath as the feeling sank into Rixos, returning her hands to a calm, clasped posed in front of her. She begins to turn, her business done, before she pauses, and the smile returns, and she returns her gaze to Rixos, stepping forward towards him. She was very close, and much taller than him. What did she have now? "You were about to forget this," she said, like a doting mother, extending a hand forward. In her open palm, was the familiar metal orb he had sacrificed earlier, still as pristine as it had been before. "Your tribute was noble, but I cannot accept this." Rixos, Truth Seeker: Rare level walkers with emblems have only been done once, and only with Emblems that have an effect that can't stack. Otherwise it isn't a bad card, and I really like the idea and flavor. 9/10

He bows before her again, this time kneeling on the floor. "Godhead Rudara, I, Rixos of House Ker, for my honor and the honor of my family, swear to you that if you need me or my services I'll come to you as fast as I can. Just call my name and I'll find a way to get there." Rixos stands up. He approaches the goddess, with a clear intention to hug her, but quckly takes a step back and makes a slight bow again. "Now, if your Eminence doesn't mind, I have to attend some business in my home plane." A bright smile lights Rixos' face. "My sister is getting graduate, and I have to be present for the ceremony. But as I said, if you need me, I'll be there." Rixos turns to leave, showing the medallions with pride. Rudara has earned a new worshipper, even though the guy doesn't know it yet.Citys Reward: The loyalty part concerns me a bit, but the flavor is very good, and the "Trials arc" has been great so take a 10/10Also, it's funny that Rixos isn't going to use the trophy because he is leaving right now. Maybe in a return.

cajun Parasign The sphinx chuckles to herself at VIA's hastiness, in fact, positioning herself so even more of herself blocked the entrance. "Don't be too hasty now Trialgoer. The Godhead did just receive another victor just now." "Besides, wouldn't you prefer to wait for your companion?" ... Karina's journey would take her through winding streets and past busy trialgoers, many of whom she saw were in possession of tokens similar to hers. She of course, was the only one with three, but she managed to walk to the top of the city with relative ease. Soon enough, Karina had scaled to what seemed to be the top of the city, a large impressive structure, the likely residence of Rudara, given her earlier ominous instructions. It seemed she wasn't alone, standing at the entrance was an impressive sphinx, and in front of her, a mysterious cloaked figure. It seemed Karina wasn't the only one who had collected three tokens this day. "There we are, that's all of you now, isn't it," the sphinx mused as Karina approached, a smug look on her face. She stepped to the side, looking over the two trialgoers. "The Godhead will see you now." {Response Card - Otherworld Precipice} Entitlement Module: Ooh! I like this effect. 9/10, really simple and really fun. Sanaerti, the Golden City: I'm obliged to like this card. 10/10

Popcornia cajunOtherworld Precipice: Not quite as clean as Chromatic Lantern, but still an interesting card. 9/10.VIA notices the girl's approach and turns to her. "Karina! Saints, you accomplished three trials all by yourself? How?... And do you still have the beacon I gave you?"Temporary Gift Artifact You may have ~ enter the battlefield tapped and under an opponent's control. : Add . If you don't own ~, put a charge counter on it. : Exile ~, then draw a card for each charge counter on it. Only ~'s owner may activate this ability. (Yeah, this isn't really an attack against Rudara but I'm not sure how else to manage this encounter)

"Oh! Hi Via! I was trying to find you before, and you just kinda disappeared. Where did you go?"
// As Karina speaks, she sticks out her tongue in concentration as the stamp she had been given gently lifts itself out of her bag.
"And I still have it, yes. I did get attacked by the spirit, sort of, but it ran away before I could use it. On the plus side, I started learning spells because of it! And yeah, I did. The first two I kinda did on accident, and the last one I had some help from what you told me before," I finish with a smile.
I can feel how stupid my face looks as I look at the giant cat-angel. "Oh, uh, maybe? I did the trial things and... okay. Let's see what this is all about," I say to Via.Gyalla's Altar Enchantment Whenever you sacrifice a permanent, you gain 1 life. , Sacrifice a permanent: Scry 1, then draw a card. Gyalla, the third and cruelest of Festenya's angels, represents the inevitability and necessity of death. Otherworld Precipice - Ditto Parasign 9/10
