A resounding boom erupted across the dying grassland. A loud wailing war-cry echoed over the field, the sound of heavy hooves trampling the ground as a large form dashed across the plains. The speeding form soon slowed to a mere run, than stopped suddenly, skidding and kicking up more dirt as the horse-like being stood still. Standing near the edge of a cliff overlooking a small village below, a fearsome centaur warrior looked down below, hefting a powerful club over her shoulder. Two large horns curled above her head, with bright ginger hair spilling down her back. She pawed a hoof at the ground, kicking up more dirt and sending a stray stone down the cliff side. "Well, if this isn't a cozy lil world. Could use a bit of shaking up I suppose," the warrior chuckled to herself, standing her great-club against a rugged stone. "Of course, it isn't a siege without an army." The warrior's eyes shined red, a wave of red and green mist beginning to pool beneath her hooves. A glow began to form behind her, before the sound of more hooves on dirt began to emanate. Ghostly centaur figures, wrapped in mists of red and green stepped in line with their leader. "Eh, that'll do. Have to find some locals eventually. If they can keep up." The warrior laughed, before she turned away from the cliff, charging down the mountain, her army of ghostly centaurs following her. It was time to paint the plane red.

On a windswept plain just outside of one the many small villages dotting the arena, a young individual stepped out from the air into the swaying grasses. Their cloak trailed behind them, as if they had just stopped running before emerging into their current position. They looked around, seemingly content, before they began walking towards the village nearby. "A new world. Not so bad as the last few. I hope I can at least try to find something interesting before someone throws a fireball at me..."

Seska had caused a number of spectacles thanks to her summons since she had arrived on the Arena. Lettie finds time to intercept her when she's near a town, and tries to planeswalk as close as possible, to give her as little time to flee as possible. She appears in a plume of smoke that smells of gall and bile, and, with a scowl, begins. "Hello little angel. You say you hail from a peaceful place, but the creatures you drag with you are not so. Are they usually better behaved, or is it that where you're from, people are too complacent to care about the destruction these things cause?"Bitter Gatekeeper Creature — Faerie Flash Flying You may cast creature spells as though they had flash if you pay an additional 2 life to cast them. 2/1

test Seska turned around, startled by the appearance of Lettie and the disconcerting method in which they had appeared. They'd been about to speak, before Lettie began her scolding, catching Seska off guard. She stammered for a moment, looking for the right words to say, before her brow furrowed, and her uncertain expression was quickly undone. "Utiahm Lokarh," she said, raising a hand up as she spoke the incantation. A circle, hued from golden light, burned itself into the earth between them, forming perfectly with either at the end from each other. Seska looked up, a brief moment of pride in casting her spell, before remembering why she'd cast it. Seska has unlocked the ability to cast enchantments!"If you're going to accuse me of something, you'd best be prepared to explain it rationally," Seska explained, before gesturing back to Lettie. What exactly Seska had cast was uncertain, but it seemed i had something to do with keeping the conversation civil and academic. {Response Card - Circle of Debates} Bitter Gatekeeper: Excellent design, with enough actual cost to stop most explotable combos. 9/10

Reaction consistent with inexperience. I've got you now."If you're going to accuse me of something, you'd best be prepared to explain it rationally." Lettie laughs, before adopting a mask she had gladly forwent for the better part of a year. She stands up straight, puts her shoulders back, and adopts a reserved stance, one hand over the other's wrist. She pulls on a smile, and if it were not for her narrowed eyes, the picture would be complete with a few strings of pearls and a suitor by her side. "Very well. Since you have not understood my opening statements, I will have to spend time explaining in greater detail. Witnesses have reported various concerning incidents, such as a river being displaced by an aggressive elemental, sudden appearances of stone towers visible over the horizon, possibly unstable, and most egregious of all, a field being set alight by an imp. You were sighted in connection to each of these." She habitually nods as she speaks. "None of the creatures are endemic to the Arena, suggesting that they were summoned, that is, pulled from the aether, implicating a planeswalker, and given two of the incidents, that planeswalker exercised minimal control over them, despite the danger that they posed to their surroundings, the imp especially." Lettie notices that she's begun to twist her fingers together, so she forces her hands apart and begins gesturing with one to prevent this from happening again. "It would be trivial to demonstrate that you were the planeswalker who summoned these creatures. With that in mind, we return to my questions. You have claimed in the past, fervently, that violence is rare on Idwol, but hostile reactions to the aforementioned threats your summons pose are reasonable. Therefore, either this is a contradiction, and you have lied about Idwol, or people on Idwol do not normally respond to such dangerous siuations in a hostile manner, hence my comment concerning complacency." She watches Seska's face, looking for sudden creases about the mouth and eyes, but avoiding eye contact. "There are other possibilities, of course. These creatures could be acting unusually, caused either by context or their summoner, in which case the disposition of Idwol would become irrelevant. However, in that case, we should examine your technical capabilities and moral character, for repeatedly creating such situations to begin with." Lettie puts some teeth in her smile. "It could also be that the more dangerous creatures are not from Idwol, and that you have ventured into the multiverse as not to disturb the peace of your home with your summons, at the expense of the rest of us. For each one of these possibilities, you are at fault in some manner, either by deceit, complacency, moral failing, or technical or perhaps even mental deficiency. I find each of these explanations plausible, and I believe a rational course of action would be for me to put an end to this behavior, by any means necessary. When negotiations fail, I find that violence is often an effective solution."Malice Creature — Incarnation Menace As long as Malice is in your graveyard and you control a Swamp, creatures you control have menace. 3/2 Circle of Debates — Clean and nice, with good flavor. My concern is that it might be weak, since it can't interrupt something already cast (though in this case, it being a response to the gatekeeper means I can't hold priority to cast more spells, which is good), and seems just slightly overcosted. 8/10

test Seska barely manages to keep her gaze steady as Lettie delivered her long winded argument, betraying some amount of uncertainty by her gaze flicking away from her occasionally, fiddling with her hands, and otherwise seeming to breathe a bit faster. Whether it was Seska's own ability to keep herself composed, or something aided by the circle between them, there was little ability to tell, though it mattered not when Seska began her rebuttal. "You speak of the events mentioned, which I do not debate happened, as if they resulted in the actual harm of those who witnessed them. None of them have, to either of our knowledge, resulted in the harm of anyone or anything. Perhaps concerns over safety might have been raised on more than one occasion, but they were well within the limits of what is allowed for academic standards." Seska let out a deep breath, holding a hand to her chest as if to calm herself. Of course, if Lettie wished to interject during Seska's small reprieve...the thought may have come, but the words refused to be spoken. "Yes, there are concerns to be raised in the behavior of my summons. I suppose they either don't agree with the nature of this world, given most of them behave themselves from my native world, or some other unknown aspect that separates this plane from Idwol. Furthermore, you accuse me of moral failing when nothing I or they have done has culminated in actual harm. There is the potential, which should be taken in mind, but your immediate stance to damn me for the possibility of harming someone indicates you were likely already looking for an excuse to do so regardless of the circumstances." Seska took another moment to breath, but was firmer now, her brow furrowed as she looked up to the older woman. "You've come here on the pretense of morality, to specifically speak down to me for whatever reason you've come to disagree with me. Your motives argument since the beginning have been both petty and malicious."{Response Card - Enlightened Advocate} Malice: Sure. 8/10

The architect from the glass outpost has found herself in the small village that Seska occupies. She's wearing what looks like the same dress and sweater that she was wearing when Seska last encountered her. She seems to be asking questions in small sentences to the locals in an attempt to locate someone, especially a planeswalker, that can understand her Volarian so she can stop trying to speak the local language. Her sentences are mostly broken up by her stumbling over every other word and many of them come with strange pronunciations. Accompanying her is a slightly older woman, wearing a pair of black cotton pants and a much thicker sweater than the one that Haia is wearing. Most of Haia's questions seem to be about if people know what a "Phyrexia" is or if they know anyone that's familiar with what happens on other worlds. The other woman is taking notes, occasionally saying things in clean Volarian that no one but Haia seems to be able to understand. Similar Volarian words, talking about resources, military, and weaponry, are coming from the device on the older woman's wrist. Your motives argument since the beginning have been both petty and malicious."{Spoiler}{Response Card - Enlightened Advocate} Malice: Sure. 8/10 Lettie returns to a reserved stance, and snorts. "You gravely misunderstand me. Morality would only have a part to play in the case where you would be responsible for the unusual behavior, having concluded that the potential results would not be a problem if they came to pass. What seems more likely is that you are reckless enough to believe that nothing will come of these risks, no matter how many times you gamble." She is correct, however. Any such fervent explorer is a threat to me, and I had already intended to curtail her efforts. Lettie breaks out of her brief reflection by deciding to tell the partial truth. "In truth, I am not here in the name of morality. I am here to protect my interests, as well as the interests of the denizens of this arena, which also fall under my interests. I can not simply ignore their concerns. However, effective as it is, violence is expensive. At this moment, I offer you the option to either cease needlessly tempting fate altogether, or to at least do it on another plane. You could perhaps remain on Idwol where no such risk exists, as I first suggested. I'm certain they would be overjoyed to have see their angel return."Lettie finds the equivocation tiring, and recalls that she saw Seska visibly fidgeting earlier. As a matter of conserving energy, Lettie lets her fingers twist themselves together as she reaches her conclusion. "You could also learn to control your summons. The alternative, should you continue with these unruly ones, is that once you do cause harm, the time for negotiation will be past. Even if it is an honest mistake born from your lack of precaution, your current awareness of the risks renders you culpable later, and then I will preclude any future incident accordingly."
Tedious Repetition Sorcery Target opponent puts two cards from their hand on top of their library in any order. Enlightened Advocate — This is rather powerful in a deck that runs a respectable number of instants and sorceries, but at least it's locked to once a turn with delay. It's a bit odd as a response, since exiling a creature is the obviously weaker case. Otherwise, it's a good design. 8/10

test Seska does her best to keep composed as she bears the brunt of Lettie's argument, but finds it less accusatory than her previous screed had been. She'd struck something in her previous statement, and though debates weren't a place for her merely to win the argument, she was already admitting defeat if she didn't try. "Your interests, which you specify extend also to the interests of this plane's residents, doesn't include individuals outside of it. Which indicates my individual desires on this world are not within your purview. The risks aside of my summons, which I have already acknowledge, how come you claim your interests align with those of everyone else native to this world, when you already show that your interest in others is arbitrary by design? If it is the interest of a resident of this plane to engage in violence, which you have to me claiming you wish to avoid, is it thusly your interest that that one be able to commit such acts?"Seska breathes out as she finished her statement, her eyes focusing on Lettie's clasped hands before she matched Lettie's gaze, somewhat more adamant than she's been before. "And furthermore, though the warning is understandable. I have not caused harm. I have not led to anyone of or not of this plane to being injured yet. You threaten the violence you wish me to avoid when I have done nothing to cause such harm. If anything, you threatening me with force only more likely results in me or any other person resorting to violence, in order to avoid your own draconian punishment you've already delivered as your verdict on my affairs."
{Response Card - Skymark Chronicler} Tedious Repetition: Interesting as a form of denial, I think this might be a bit too good for 1B since this denies further draws, but I'd honestly need to see it played. Definitely annoying however. 7/10

Haia notices the eye-statue and observes it, considering it as an aesthetic piece with the different style of architecture than anyone else she'd seen. Without speaking, because it would be rude to interrupt the older woman, Haia makes a motion towards the different building. The woman looks up, nods, and continues talking into the device on her wrist, now talking about "7CI". Haia takes deep breaths before approaching the building and lightly tapping on whatever door might be there. This eye might actually be playable in 60-card tempo decks, since fetches are so common. Maybe even 100-card tempo decks . I like it. 9/10Architect's Eye Sorcery Choose a nonland card name, then target opponent reveals their hand. Draw a card for each card of the chosen name among them. Seska turned around, facing away from Lettie before she vanished in a puff of smoke...meaning she hadn't left the plane, but certainly had left Lettie's immediate proximity. {Response Card - Price of Dominance} Economic Evolution: Could use a more fitting name, but I like it. 8/10 Lettie looks less than satisfied with the concession, and lets Seska leave. She was on to something, and Seska was on to her. Price of Dominance — Not much to say here, other than it's completely brutal with wheels, to the point that I'm somewhat cautious for that reason. 7/10

The faerie looks stunned at the dusted house for a bit, then left to recover the other faerie.
About an hour later, the other faerie returned and spitefully searched through the dust for a few minutes. Voluntary Exile not a fan of this type of card but guess its fineish 7/10

PopcorniaRevoke Impurities: 7.5/10. This card scares me, but I think I'm comfortable with how much it scares me. "Well, we wouldn't want that, now would we?" Dieule calls as Seiva walks away, before turning its attention to Seska. "What an unfortunate predicament the two of us find ourselves in. It would seem as though I'm at your mercy, which you seem to have an alarming lack of, at least with regard to me." The machine pauses for a second, thinking. "Let's see. While I can't go to these 'hells below' yet, I can at least oblige to be crueler toward you."
Agonizing Prisoner
Creature - Spawn When ~ enters the battlefield, put a -1/-1 counter on each creature. 3/3

pacifistwestwomanSeska stares at the creature for a moment, before she furrows her brow once more. "Unfortunate, but I suppose this will do instead."Whatever air around Dieule began to warp, shimmer, and suddenly seemed grow a life of it's own. Soon enough, there was a force to it, pulling back at the Phyrexian away from Seska, culminating in a gaping, twisting maw of aether. {Response Card - Scatter the Aether} Agonizing Prisoner: Hmm, fits rare, but I'm not sure I like this being a potential boardwipe even for it's cost. 6/10, especially since Pith Driller exists.

Scatter the Aether: 9/10 The only way I would change this is to make it cost 1/2 more. As the machine is pulled towards the aether, three black, oily tendrils erupt from the ground and attach themselves to Dieule, slowly wrestling with the orb's intent. Oil begins to spread and coat both Dieule and the orb. "As I understand it, aether is a very dangerous substance. And you would simply throw me into a vat of it? At least I have the decency to let my victims live."One of the tendrils disconnects from the orb, and approaches Seska. The three drops of oil from Dieule's original location have disappeared. Ichorborn Tendrils Creature - Spawn Ooze Kraken Infect When ~ enters the battlefield, you may pay . If you do, it deals 1 damage to target creature and 1 damage to target player. 3/4

pacifistwestwoman The tentacle's trajectory was, for a moment unimpeded, seeming as if it were going to strike at the undefended redhead. The attack, however, might have proven unwise, as the aether hole behind the Phyrexian was only growing in strength, and the tentacle might have been more useful as an anchor than as artillery. Seska's brow furrowed as the appendage of ichor surged forward, and for a brief moment it seemed she had no response before... A flash of crackling, seething matter seemed to eat at the tentacle, coming from a blinding flash from where Seska had been...no, where she was currently standing. The tentacle was quickly dissolved in a torrent of melting plasma, and in the place of it's caster...was...someone else. {Response Card - ? ? ?}} Using passive to prevent the damage, and her -3 to exile the creature. "I suppose this place always was dangerous enough for me. Luckily I didn't get myself killed back then. You however..."The sharp sound of drawn metal rung between them, and...Seska? drew what appeared to a shortsword, wrapped in a halo of burning plasma. "And besides, that wasn't meant to dispose of you. What happens next, will, if you don't make yourself scarce." Ichorborn Tentacles: Interesting, restrictive given it's 4 colored mana, and costs 3 black to get it's etb without life, and is pretty good even if you do pay up. Doesn't feel very Dimir in my opinion, and would have been better as monoblack. 7/10

It strikes me more as a minus ability, and I think there should be more blue and red represented in the abilities. Bonus point for naming it ? ? ? in the spoiler "If I don't make myself scarce?" The two remaining tendrils pull Dieule free from the orb, and place him on the ground. The machine begins to walk away, as the tendrils slowly slink into the ground. Its path is perpendicular to the road, though it remains looking at the woman before it. "Have we forgotten which of us couldn't move for the last minute or so? Either way, I suppose I got what I came for, and should thank you for the opportunity to leave."Taunting Artillery Creature - Spawn Wall Defender, Infect Whenever ~ is dealt damage, it deals 1 damage to each opponent. 0/5

pacifistwestwoman Seska "hmmphs" before flicking at the air with her sword, another gout of burning-plasma striking at the ground. "Leaving? No, you're not just leaving." {Response Card - Sudden Dismissal } "You're never coming back."The aether behind Dieule flared once more, before making one final, powerful pull against the Phyrexian's form. Wherever, whenever this thing led, it wasn't going to let the Phyrexian go. Taunting Artillery: Eh, this is weird to judge since that infect damage is a lot more valuable than standard lifeloss. 6/10 since I don't think black should turtle like this.
