Up: I really like surveilling 2 every time I card an instant or sorcery, but the “loses indestructible” bit seems strange. Maybe “ : Target creature gets -2/-2 and loses indestructible until end of turn. Activate this ability only if you surveilled this turn”? Loot Brute Creature — Giant Warrior When Loot Brute enters the battlefield, you may discard three cards. If you do, draw three cards. 6/6 For Reanimator. Probably , but in the right set maybe Next: Last Shakespeare entry was good. How about another one, but not from Hamlet this time.

Up: You could possibly push this to 4RR. Simple, nice way to encourage reanimator/graveyard strats in red while having other uses. I like it. Drunken Porter Creature - Human Citizen CARDNAME attacks each turn if able. Whenever CARDNAME becomes blocked, any number of players each discard two cards at random, then draw two cards. Such a drunkard can speak no sanity. 3/3 the porter from Macbeth (act 2, scene 3) Next: I'd like to see a common that could fit into GRN. That's all.

Up: Good mechanics, well costed, nice reference, it works really well. Gatestalker Agent Creature - Human Assassin Gatestalker Agent can’t be blocked as long as you control a Gate. 2/2 Boros gets a common that gets better when you have a gate, why don't the other guilds? Next: We have enchantment creatures in various flavors (Bestow, Constellation, etc). What about other card types? Create an Enchantment Land!

Up: Good mechanics (I've always like the Invisibility creatures), appropriately costed, don't know anything about the gate related cards but reasoning seems fair. Took it a step further made a land aura (that targets lands). Bonus is that it can fit into the Griffin Canyon decks without contributing to the kill. {Original Card}
EDIT: Fixed the card my brain broke and couldn't figure out comma's, added the mana production because it felt as if it wasn't worth the land drop without something else, but thought a full mana production was too powerful.

Up: If you meant for the Aura to tap while it’s attached to another land, that would get confusing because you’re putting it on another land. Also, it looks like it’s free, so the ability looks too strong for 0 mana. Grampa Jim, the Crotchety Creature — Human When Grampa Jim, the Crotchety enters the battlefield, exile all permanents attached to lands and remove all counters from lands. Creatures can’t attack you unless their controller pays for each creature they control that’s attacking you. ”Get off my lawn!”4/4 Next: Design a two-drop with a color identity of at least 3 colors

Up: Very white. The grumpy denial really comes through. I think it was a legendary with the naming convention you went for though. Veinway Wurm Creature - Wurm Deathtouch, haste : Return ~ back to its owner's hand. I don't care if you have to drain all his blood, just find the thing!
2/1 Next: Design a creature that can counter. {EdittedVersion} I changed it just a bit according to your Ups Veinway Crawler Creature - Insect Deathtouch, haste : Return ~ back to its owner's hand. I don't care if you have to drain all his blood, just find the thing!2/1

Up: Seems unusually small for a wurm, but I think I get what you're going for, and I like it a lot. Cunning Spellthief Creature - Human Rogue Wizard Flash Imprint — When Cunning Spellthief enters the battlefield, you may counter target spell. If that spell is countered this way, exile it instead of putting it in its owner’s graveyard. : You may copy a card exiled by Cunning Spellthief. If you do, you may spend mana as though it were mana of any color to cast it. 1/1 Next: The highest costed black border in Magic is Draco at . Well, we have symbols that go all the way up to , so make a card that fits it.

{ninjas everywhere}Up: This is a strong thing, it should definitely not be . I like it though. Steady Gainsayer Creature - Human Wizard Outlast ( , : Put a +1/+1 counter on this creature. Outlast only as a sorcery.) , , remove a counter form Steady Gainsayer: Counter target spell. 1/2 It counters with counters I'm not sure if it's cost is right. Next: Paste the last text you've copied into google, click images and make a card for the first image that shows up. If you haven't copied any text lately, take the title of the next book you find near you and make a card out of that.

Up- Cunning Spellthief: Great flavor, and since you have to pay for the spell I don’t think it’s too broken. Watch out for extra turn spells. Up- Steady Gainsayer: It seems very slow. Maybe Outlast for , then , to counter unless they pay 1 or 2? Great idea though. Flow of Omnipotence Sorcery Assist Each player draws all the cards in their library, then returns to their hand all permanents they own from all zones. For the rest of the game, players don’t lose the game if they would draw a card from an empty library, and may cast spells any time they could cast an instant without paying their mana costs. Exile Unstoppable Stampede Next: Design a common Squid, Phoenix, or Hydra

Up: Even as a 3/2 for 5 mana, it feels like that's a lot of value for a common. Also, phoenixes have always been red. I could maybe understand black, but I personally find it hard to picture a phoenix in green. Next: Design a noncreature card with " Level up"

Up: Nice card. I like it. Lifewell Enchantment Graft 2 Level up Level 2-4> At the beginning of your upkeep, put a +1/+1 counter on Lifewell. Level 5+> At the beginning of your upkeep, put a +1/+1 counter on Lifewell and each other permanent you control with a +1/+1 counter on it. I just realized this uses two different counters on the same card. Oops. Next: Hybrid mana double-faced card.

Emberstoke Slasher Creature - Elemental Warrior CARDNAME can't block. : Transform CARDNAME. 2/1 ////// Sire of the Undying Flame Creature - Elemental Berserker CARDNAME attacks each combat if able. Whenever CARDNAME attacks, defending player sacrifices a permanent unless they pay 3 life. 2/4 Next: Another Elemental!

Up: Looks like you haven't installed the right fonts. I think it's a fun card. I also think the second trigger should only trigger when it dies to avoid abusive bounce shenanigans. Tree of Ascention Creature - Plant Defender : Exchange target creature’s toughness with Tree of ‘s toughness. 0/13 Maybe this happened in a different timeline or something... New: A giant lizard and a big explosion!

UP: Seems like a fun effect to have on the board, changing around toughnesses of creatures every turn, possibly in response to attacks. Dragon Impersonator Creature - Lizard ~ can only attack or block if an opponent has been dealt damage by an instant or sorcery this turn. 3/3 NEXT: A creature card with the creature type being your favorite animal.

Up: Nice card. Seems to be at the right cost. Recursive Reign Sorcery Return target permanent card from your graveyard to the battlefield. Epic (For the rest of the game, you can’t cast spells. At the beginning of each of your upkeeps, copy this spell except for its epic ability. You may choose a new target for the copy.)Next: Choose three: • Draw • Discard • Damage • Deathtouch • Defender

Up: I reaaaaally like this as a Golgari sideboard option. I actually think it might be a little too expensive, but then I've never played an Epic before. This plus a heavy Dredge deck would be killer. Fiendish Fieldhand Artifact Creature -- Scarecrow Defender Instant and sorcery spells you control have deathtouch. Whenever a creature dealt damage by an instant or sorcery spell you cast this turn dies, draw a card, then discard a card. 1/5 They printed it in RNA, okay?
EDIT: Forgot the challenge! Let's see... Design a Bant-colored card that works alongside Kestia, the Cultivator, both mechanically and flavorfully. She needs a friend! Or a spell. Or anything. Thanks to Flo00 for reminding me.

Up: So simple that it's hard to argue with, but it's not a card I'd necessarily be excited to play. (Not that that's necessary, of course. Most cards are "par for the course.") Cunning Ultimatum Sorcery Until end of turn, creatures you control get +1/+1 for each noncreature card in your graveyard and gain flying, haste, and vigilance. MaRo said they tested Ultimatums for Khans, but they didn't get played. Well, tbf, most of the Shard Ultimatum's didn't either. Cruel is OP imo, so I based this one on Titanic. Hopefully it has potential to be a huge play, without being a free "I win" button. (After all, it's not like it costs .) Next: Create a land that can produce 4 colors of mana, but not all 5.

Post by Flo00 on Feb 10, 2019 1:09:02 GMT
Up: This one looks like you need also quite a build-around for it since you need enough noncreatures to make the bonuth worth the cost but also enough creatures to use the bonus accordingly. The costs for the ultimatums are just crazy and this is no exception. I still think it's worthyy of being one. Szegorian Hills Land , : Add . , : Add . Next: A noncreature with morph.

Post by melono on Jul 26, 2019 12:47:52 GMT
UP: I really like this, as it helps 5 colored decks with a focus on red (otherwise you can't play it), which isn't that common.
Reshaping Quicksand Enchantment Morph (You may cast this face down as a 2/2 creature for . Turn it face up any time for its morph cost.) Creatures your opponents control lose trample and have -1/-0. NEXT: An instant or sorcery card that causes a player to discard one or more cards.

Up: I feel like you could have taken the challenge in a more interesting direction. In a way that the new enchantment would make use of his former creatureness. Now it just seems like a regular enchantment (that could be mono-U)
Thoughtwinnow :2::B::U: Sorcery :Uncommon: ~ can't be countered. Target player separates their hand into two piles. You may look at both of them and choose one of them. That player discards the other one.
Next: A card that synergizes with creature tokens in an unusual way.

Post by FLAREdirector on Jul 26, 2019 18:50:20 GMT
Up: I think it's interesting and definitely playable. I'm always a little shaky about these kinds of two-pile effects, because I'm worried that there's some non-obvious way to exploit them, but I think this one is solid. I also appreciate that it has political implications for Commander -- "I won't make you discard your Electrodominance, but you owe it to me not to hit me with it later." By the way, you want four colons for emoticons here, not just two. :: uncommon :: makes . Sanguine Paladin Creature -- Vampire Knight 2/2 Whenever ~ deals combat damage to a player, create that many 1/1 black Vampire creature tokens. , , Sacrifice X nonartifact creature tokens you control: Put X +1/+1 counters on ~. You gain X life. The blood of the devout is not any different from the blood of the wicked.Next: A card with the tribal supertype.

Wow, this game's been dead for a while. Up: Pretty straightfoward build-around, though I'm not sure what about this is 'unusual' seeing as it's effectively a tweaked Devour. Good solid card though, could easily see it in a set. Shoot True Sorcery You may cast ~ as if it had flash it you control an Archer. ~ deals 3 damage to any target. Because who doesn't love discount bolts? Granted, this one is probably meant for a higher powered set, but at the same time, I think the difficulty of working with a less-used tribe is an interesting challenge. Next: Design a multicolored counterspell.
