School of Maths and ScienceLand - Plains Island (: Add or .)School of Maths and Science enters the battlefield tapped unless you've done your homework today. As soon as I learned the laws of motion, I was able to finish the exam.EDIT: A sudden idea, PLEASE help me costing this, because I don't know how powerful this is: Wheel of Misfortune Sorcery Discard your hand, then draw seven cards. You lose life equal to their total converted mana cost.

Wheel of Misfortune Sorcery Discard your hand, then draw seven cards. You lose life equal to their total converted mana cost. Oof, that seems too good. Look at Drastic Revelation which does the first half of your card. Also look at Tolarian Winds which fits right into your cards mana cost, but the discard and draw is equal. Without changing any words in the text box for your card, I'd say seems more realistic or even just match Drastic Revelation's mana cost. ~Zuty

Zuty: Yeah, the cost was just slapped on it, because I didn't know what should it be. Thanks anyway. Bloody Hourglass Artifact When ~ enters the battlefield, choose an opponent. At the beginning of your upkeep, the chosen opponent loses 1 life. Looks harmless until you realize it's half-full.And a question outside MtG: If in a card game there would be a card type that would represent both living creatures and inanimate constructions, how would you name it?

Zuty: Nah, like Magic's creature (there are both Warriors and Walls), but there would be more constructions than in Magic.

burntsquirrelman: Thanks, I'll consider this. Also, what is the origin of your username? Since sdfkjgh didn't post there in a while, which probably means he's busy as hell (he normally posts a card there every few hours, at least in the past threads), what I was up to again... oh, yes. You know the three blue Power 9 cards, right? Ancestral Recall, Time Walk, and Timetwister? I challenge you to make three white cards that would be as powerful as those three. Meanwhile I drop some card: Mana Dam Enchantment At the beginning of your upkeep, look at the top card of your library. If it's a land card, you may reveal it and put it on bottom of your library. Kinda no clue which color should this be in, even if it's undercosted (And I believe it might be a bit undercosted).

@gorgonzola : Thank you for your concern. Yes, I have been busy with the move, my column, and personal stuff, but now that the column is back to at least a reasonable facsimile of its former schedule, I anticipate a gradual return to the previous level of overposting you all know and are tired of me for.
Zuty: I really like that cycle of dual lands. They look like something WotC would do themselves, so job well done!

Glucodon Creature - Beast Trample Diabetes - Glucodon gets +1/+1 for each player that ate something sweet this turn. 5/4 Sugar Death Instant Target creature gets -1/-1 until end of turn. Diabetes - That creature gets -10/-10 until end of turn if an opponent ate something sweet this turn.

@gorgonzola: Oh man. Knowing what I do about baked-goods-bribery, you're making me wanna turn its use towards the dark side. I can just picture building a Golgari deck around these two cards, bringing it and a homemade muffin tray to battle, then springing the deck on everybody after they've all eaten my muffins!

sdfkjgh : Better use would be peppermints. Who doesn't like peppermints? Okay, one more: Jading Jelly Creature - Ooze Indestructible Eat something sweet: ~ loses indestructible until end of turn. Any player may activate this ability. "Please... no... more..."3/3 Undeathly Odor Sorcery Kicker - Eat some liquorice. (You may eat some liquorice as you cast this spell. Eat it all, no spewing or vomiting.)Target player discards two cards. If ~ was kicked, that player discards two cards at random instead. Sweet diabetes enablers (oh my God, double pun)

Okay, I wanted to post another one, but it would be too much. Eject Instant Return target permanent to its owner's hand. Suspend 2 - Consuming Cleavage Sorcery Destroy target land. Suspend 2 - That last one... I can think of something else to call "consuming cleavage"...

@gorgonzola - My name has a history dating back to the early 2000's, when I was first being introduced to a little game called "Dungeons and Dragons". Being really excited about all the possibilities that the game opened up and downloading every possible Random Generator for D&D I could think of at the time, there was one generator I had a lot of fun with. It was a Tavern and Inn generator that had a surprising amount of customization and options. During one of my bouts of generating an tavern, I accidentally made one called "The Squirrel and Lettuce". I had immediately thought this name hilarious and promptly began to change all of the details about the tavern. One of the things you could generate was food items, so I started changing those as well. Plates of Roasted Squirrel garnished on a plate of Lettuce and all that. But the creme dela creme was dessert: The Burnt Squirrel Crumble. I had even gone so far as to make a "recipe" for it, that included needing a furnace forged from obsidian, wood chopped from a living Ent, a fire lit by Dragon Breath, and so on. So as not to make this post pointless, here is a card as well.

Ok, enough joking around... Here is my legit attempt to make a food-based card. Donner, Party of X Legendary Enchantment All creatures have snow-covered landwalk and mountainwalk. Donner, Party of X comes in to play with X life counters. At the beginning of each player's upkeep, remove one life counter from Donner, Party of X, then if there are no life counters on Donner, Party of X, exile it. Sacrifice a creature: Add 1 life counter to Donner, Party of X. Any player may activate this ability.

Here's one I designed in my sleep:
Gwendion of Llanowar Legendary Creature--Elf Druid Shaman : Add and you gain 1 life. If this mana is spent to cast an Elf spell or pay for an ability with an Elf source, you gain an additional 1 life. 1/2

Dispose in Gutter Sorcery Exile up to three cards from a single graveyard. Draw a card, then discard a card. "One and two, and three, and four! Four and six, and left's no more!" -Popular chant

Here's one inspired by Magic Mics' review of Final Parting:
Liliana's Inquiry Sorcery Create a black 2/2 Zombie creature token, then search your library for a card with converted mana cost of X or less, where X is the number of Zombie permanents you control. Reveal that card, put it into your hand, then shuffle your library.

Collapse Sorcery Destroy target land. Its controller sacrifices a creature. Rot Elemental Creature - Elemental Whenever ~ deals combat damage to a player, put a mire counter on target land that player controls. Lands with mire counters on them are Swamps in addition to their other types. When ~ leaves the battlefield, remove all mire counters from all lands. 2/4

I made a mechanic: Courageous Recruit Creature - Human Soldier Lifelink Affirm - As long as you have more life than your starting life total, ~ gets +1/+1. 1/1 What do you think about the mechanic as a way to make lifegain relevant? And what about the card itself? I know it is pretty strong, but what level of strong? Warping Ritual Sorcery Add .

I'm making a prehistoric themed set and really came to like this design, but the colors are wrong and I don't think I'll have additional combat phases. Maybe I'll use this in a reworked form in some set at some point.
