Impulsive Speech Sorcery Exile the top card of your library. You may play it this turn. Cipher (Then you may exile this spell card encoded on a creature you control. Whenever that creature deals combat damage to a player, its controller may cast a copy of the encoded card without paying its mana cost.)

Angelic Vengehawk Creature - Angel Shaman As long as ~ has any counters on it, it has flying, lifelink and first strike. Undying ( When this creature dies, if it had no +1/+1 counters on it, return it to the battlefield under its owner’s control with a +1/+1 counter on it.) Vengeance for those who are done wrong, by angels done wrong themselves.2/1 Strangely, undying has been printed on every color except white, a color that is connected to death. Flavor is seen as more zombie probably?

Time to get this one rolling again. Don't really have the time to do a full judging right now – so I'll just declare a winner for today and hopefully be able to add some comments later on! And the winner is.. Flo00!

moweda I didn't expect anyone to interpret the challenge this way. I'm allways open for creative interpretation though. Judging (hopefully) on Sunday. More entries are welcome. EDIT: moweda wins.

Oops, I missed this one. Thanks for the win Flo00! For the next challenge: Design a common/uncommon with an "enters the graveyard" trigger.

Hope this counts.
(AFAIK this works, since going to the graveyard happens before the validity of attachments is checked, and I couldn't find anything saying that Auras and Equipment become unattached when the permanent they're attached to dies.)

Gavony Skirmisher Creature - Human Soldier Haste When Gavony Skirmisher dies, its owner mills a card and puts it on top of their library. With Avacyn lost, only we are left to drive out the undying from our frontiers.3/2 {Spoiler}{Render}

kefke Weary Veteran {Spoiler} As far as I can tell, Legacy should work. And it's a really nice effect in white. Cost/flavor seem accurate. Nice job! SilentKobold Gavony Skirmisher {Spoiler} I really like this effect- sort of swapping out the next card in line to get this guy back instead. My bigggest concern is the vagueness of the wording: "puts it on top of their library" could be construed as applying to the milled card; also the timing of the effects is unclear. I think it would be clearer to say:
When Gavony Skirmisher dies, its owner mills a card then puts Gavony Skirmisher on top of their library.
Daij_Djan Everlasting Geist {Spoiler} This card works perfectly fine however I have a personal dislike of effects that put cards further down into a deck. I mean, I guess I get it with stuff like scrying. But it just seems overly fiddly to me, especially on repeatable effects.
melono Necromoeba {Spoiler} This is a really interesting card. I really like the rules text, it is clear and unique (as best I can tell from a quick search). I'm inclined to say it should be instead of but that's a very minor quibble. My biggest concern is flying; I'm not sure what it has to do with the rest of the card. Very nice set of entries for this contest! Good job to all. Based on overall simplicity (an important element in the common/uncommon contest) and appropriateness for color, etc, the winner is:

Thanks for the win!
They say if you're going to do something new, you should do it at Common, so for this next one create a card to represent a new creature type. It doesn't necessarily have to be a creature, but the card should convey what the type is, and what it's all about. For example, Llanowar Elves does a good job of showing what elves are and what they're about, but Goblin Grenade does just as good a job of conveying the concept of goblins.

Eucalyptoid Raver Creature - Koala Shaman ~ enters the battlefield with three leaf counters on it. Remove a leaf counter from ~: Target creature you control gains haste until end of turn. The next time it attacks this turn, exert it. (An exerted creature won’t untap during your next untap step.)The leaves it collects grant a temporary boost in energy, but you won't be able to move the next day.3/3 Edit: Oops, should have been a common.

Since dinosaurs are more close related to crocodiles than plesiosaurs, the paleo finned reptiles should have their own creauture type. Coastal Elasmosaur Creature - Plesiosaur Elemental Flash Veil 3 (This creature can’t be target of spells or abilities an opponent controls, unless that player pays for each spell or ability that would target it.) 3/3 The Veil ability represents their ability to evade spells by diving underwater, equal to Nezahal ability.

Alright, I'm a bit too frazzled to judge properly right now, but I've left this contest open long enough. Ultra condensed judging go!
melono - Very thematic design, but it feels like a type that would struggle a little to find differentiation between creatures (and also should probably still have the Demon or Devil type on top of it).
Flo00 - I assume that the new type here is supposed to be "Guardian", but it actually used to be a type. Everything works here, but for some reason it feels a little messy to be a representative card.
vizionarius - Having its own kind of counters reminds me of Thallids, and while I do think it's pushing it for what would normally be at Common, if the theme were to be carried out over more cards, it could work.
Sanfonier of the Night - There's a lot going on with this card, which makes it hard to see how it all gels together, and in turn makes it hard to see how the type as a whole (which I think is otherwise a good example for a new type) should feel. Overall winner; vizionarius

So, I had the thought that Auras and Equipment are very similar, and decided to do a twist on Living Weapon. The idea is that they'd all have some kind of LTB effect. Maybe we could have gotten something like this if WotC hadn't come up with Enchantment Creatures first.

Note that in order to cast an Aura with enchant creature, you need to have a creature on the battlefield that's a legal target for it as you cast it. Currently, the way your spell works is that you choose a target when casting it, then when it enters (attached to your target), the Aura creates a 0/0, then moves itself to the 0/0 from the original target. Not sure if this was your intended effect.

It was basically a compromise between proper function, or not having a block of tiny text.

@ kefke: The #form cycle shows how to properly word this kind of effect:
Ideal of Vision Enchantment Living spell (When this enters the battlefield, it becomes an Aura with enchant creature. Create a 0/0 white Mote creature token and attach this to it.) Enchanted creature gets +1/+1 and has flying. When enchanted creature dies, scry 2.
Technically it now wouldn't fit the challenge anymore though - but then again I'd argue it's clearly a grey area (it would be up to vizionarius though, obviously)

Feedbackkefke: Essentially a 1/1 flyer that scries 2 on death, but has a tokens/auras synergy to some extent. I like it, but I would have liked it better if it allowed to also be attached to an existing creature as well, not just the created token (see here; also, seems we had a similar idea, here). Note that the scry should probably use "when" instead of "if", as Daij_Djan had it in his wording. viriss: I like that this Aura grants a permanent boost even when it's destroyed, and adds a keyword while it's in play. It's a nice mix between a sorcery and an Aura in that regard. I would have likely it better if the +1/+1 counter was put on the enchanted creature and not just any target creature you control, but maybe an art or flavor text would make it make more sense why it can be put on another creature as well. melono: You can use this wording for the returning to hand. I like the flavor of this; get a chunk of flesh (by making a cut: the -1/-1 counter) to entice the enchanted creature to return. Can be a way to recur a 1-toughness ETB/LTB creature with this. And I like that it's a may so you are not forced to weaken your own things. Nice, clean design. SilentKobold: I feel like this works really well in a deck that wants it. It triggers prowess itself, and brings more prowess with it (and since prowess is cumulative, it's never wasted). The name of the card feels a little off since it feels like it would be a creature instead of an Aura. Would also be nice to have had a race type for the token for flavor reasons. Overall I really like this. ResultThe winner is SilentKobold with an interesting design that fits really well into a deck with the archetype it's meant for, and the submission that got me most interested in wanting to try it in a deck. Runner-up is melono.
