FeedbackGoing to decide as though each card was a common as per the prompt. ZephyrPhantom : I really like your distinguished mechanic! Placement of the ability on the bottom makes sense. I like that it doesn't change the P/T. Your card specifically is a nice Boros card with the passion of youth ( ) and the composure of training ( ). Does feel like an uncommon. {The art description is beautiful.} viriss : Neat ability with the extra counters! Feels a little like the mechanics from New Capenna in that they do a lot in one keyword. Love that art (and artist)! I think it's also just a bit too strong to pass for a common. melono : Nice solution to have that alternate cost! A "free" spell is always tricky to not have it be overpowered, but I think your limitation makes it so it's not broken at all. It does have its uses in big green stompy. pernicious : Nice art! I also like the ability quite a bit. Would have to go in a set with decent amount of Treasure creation, but that's OK. I like the flavor text too! WinnerI had a hard time here because I really like ZephyrPhantom's entry and mechanic, but it doesn't quite fit as a common. I think viriss' mechanic is also quite good, but also uncommon-y. pernicious wins with a flavorful ability that could be expanded to other cards and colors pretty easily. I also like that even though it doesn't explicitly say that the Treasure has to be used, by having double means that you might have to use the Treasure to cast it.

Interesting that all conspire cards are commons to date! Thinking that the enemy-paired ones would be uncommon. Creakwood Chant Instant Until end of turn, up to one target creature you control gets +2/+2 and up to one target creature an opponent controls gets -2/-2. Conspire (As you cast this spell, you may tap two untapped creatures you control that share a color with it. When you do, copy it and you may choose a new target for the copy.)

vizionarius : A different spin of Cankerous Thirst. Without the "If was spent to cast this spell..." and "If was spent to cast this spell..." clauses, there is a bit of color bleed.
melono : A potentially double Pyroclasm at instant speed, it's an interesting design. I would only make it uncommon.

Thanks for the win pernicious! The idea was that it can be a cheap Barter in Blood because you are sure to have creatures you must sacrifice. Next: Make a common trap or quest!There are only 8 cards so far fitting this criteria.

Well, all common quests were Expeditions using the Landfall trigger, so I think having something just as basic would be requird for new ones.. So how about a cycle of Conquests caring about attacking? Also to do something new I really didn't want to do monocolored quests again - so for my example, I decided to go with a very easy one (as far as thinking of a fitting effect goes ):

Search for the Lost Souls Enchantment - Quest At the beginning of your end step, if you gained life this turn, put a quest counter on ~. Remove three quest counters from ~: Create a 1/1 white Spirit creature token with flying. Scry 2. Note new enchantment subtype and that it doesn't sacrifice.

I'm sorry, I won't have time for a propper judging for about a week. Those cards are all really good. twintania wins. EDIT: { twintania}Simple and flavorful card. Works only in the right environment. { Daij_Djan}That really is a simple effect that fits both colors. I like the idea of playing this early and loading it with a few easy attacks to crack it in the late game for a huge swing. { vizionarius}I would like Quest to be a subtype and have other cards interact with them. The effect is small enough and costly enough (in terms of time as a cost) to justify not sacrificing this. I'd probably not play this outside limited. Except in a proliferate deck maybe. {moweda}I think it's a good thing this doesn't cost . The condition is met too easy for that. I like how more creatures attacking makes the effect worse so you sometimes have the incentive to hardcast it rather than wait for the trap condition.

{Defleshed Imp/ Sanfonier of the Night }The balance itself isn't bad. If your deck focus on artifact or oil, it can be a nice attacker. But I think it would be uncommon, or maybe rare. For it is totally useless if your deck doesn't feature artifact or oil. And it also requires you to play it before attack if you has an artifact attacker though its power is zero. In this case, it gives you an additional choice whether you pay 2 life or before you don't know how your creatures are blocked by opponent's creature. If the prediction of the combat was wrong, it results that you wastes 2 life or one mana and maybe it prevents your next action. On the whole, this card would perplex beginners. According to New World Order, it would be suitable for more higher rarity. The art has a good feel. {Belligerent Bully/ pernicious }Nice flavor text. The blue hoser ability doesn't have a big impact, but it will bring an interesting mind game into the end game of limited. But I'm not satisfied with it since the toughness-tilted stats has a little to do with other abilities. If it had reach to catch a blue flyer, the 2/3 is reasonable for toughness 3 would stop most of flyers with mana value equal or less than it. Or else, if it got +2/+0 for each blue spell your opponent cast each turn, the toughness-tilted stats was more persuasive. {Flamehearth Rager/ Daij_Djan }Totally good. I will be never surprised if at any time this card appears in canon. I came up with this challenge when I thought there are too many similar common 1/3s. The ability triggers when you play a card from exile is already in canon but combining it with a kind of Dwarven Forge-Chanter is your invention. It would work well and fun to play in limited in a deck with some Experimental Synthesizer or Mishra's Research Desk and probably it could take a role in constructed. Menace is also good. It would do the bare minimum even when you met an impulsive draw screw. {Testy Firedog/ Flo00 }It would take a nice role in limited UR deck mainly as a wall and sometime as a finisher. One thing I want it to have more is that easiness of combat trick. For example, assume you have a 3 damage instant in your hand. This Firedog can kill a 5/3 creature blocked by it with 3 power first strike damage if you cast the spell on it. But you can kill the 5/3 by simply casting the spell to it, not Firedog. And then think about 4/4 or 2/4. They can't be killed by the spell and Firedog's 3 power double strike can kill them. But in this case, Firedog also dies. Against its looks, the ability has a few opportunities of combat trick, though a wall which can be a finisher is enough to use. {Anaba Bellower/ moweda } Creatures that can deal 3 or more damage in dying without no other resource or combo is not many. Its rivals are Mudbutton Torchrunner and Pitchburn Devils. Torchrunner is an old card and I think it is simply weak and I don't want to play it unless my deck has plenty of goblin or sac synagies. Pitchburn Devils is also an old one but I feel it is almost reasonable for a common creature with 3 damage on its death. I suppose it would be possible to exist if it was rare or . {Singeing Terrain/ vizionarius }A continuous removal is severely avoided compared to the days of Masques though 1 damage is relatively overlooked even now. On the days, toughness 4 on turn 4 in limited was a reliable guard but now 4/4 on turn 4 is not a rare case so the reliability is diminished. It has both a point strengthen and weaken and seems to be almot just right, though 0/4 for 4 mana is a bit slow in recent limited speed. The naming is indeed fine. {Ambush Shinobi/ ZephyrPhantom }Interesting viewpoint but 0/1 is very severe to use without ninjutsu. Most ninjas have mana cost which is barely reasonable but... If I was draw first, seeing this card in my starting hand is a soft nightmare. If the ability triggers not when attacks but when becomes tapped, I might accept hard casting it as a vehicle crewer. Though in this case, ninjutsu cost might not be able to be , since it does divided 2 damage when it ninjutsued.

Razortalon Griffin Creature - Griffin Flying, deathtouch Prevent all damage ~ would deal to artifact creatures. Its talons are deadlier than venom.2/3 Hope that Odric++ doesn't count for this!
