Lured in Sorcery Look at the top 7 cards of your library. You may reveal one creature card among them with converted mana cost 1 or less. Cast it without paying for its mana cost. Put the rest on the bottom of your library in any order. The cat only saw the food, not the hand that held it, nor the intentions behind it.
Purrcy was alone once more after the last group he had traveled with had forgotten to wake him whilst he was lazying around. His instincts had told him not to follow them, so he stayed on his warm rock. If there's one thing Purrcy trusts, it's his instincts. The cat lazed about on his back. Not much he could do. Hearing some loud growls coming from where his old party had gone, he stretched with a yawn and scurried to some random roads. Some appealing scents take over the cat's nose, and he follows a road. Purrcy walks a good ways behind some creature or another from which the pleasant smell emitted. Led by his nose and gluttony, the cat accidentally closed in on the insect. He supressed the urge to lick himself in shame and pressed on. Purrcy's instincts told him that the creature before him would not become dangerous any time soon. It is not a trap, though they are stronger. Purrcy approached Imago with his tail lifted into the air, his head raised, and his ears turned towards the insect. It was ready for the common, civilized peace offerings as it purred anticipatory. augur PS: I hope I'm doing this right. Just tell me if I should be doing something different.

gluestick248 Augustus simply phases into the ground and floats back up again after the hound has charged him several times. From what he does remember of his tribe, there must've been some element of mystical sleight of hand involved, because he seriously doubted spellcasting as a recently formed undead spirit was supposed to come this easily.
"Uh, hello?" He speaks, unsure of what to say to the dog as he raises his hand. "We can do this all day, hound, but I have an important task at hand..."

fyi since someone asked; y'all don't need to post a card every prompt (like, in this one it's not necessary for example), but if I don't say some specific stuff assume a card is required

korakhosThe minotaur reached for its sword. Act fast. Every moment stretched out. The minotaur's heart rate had increased faintly, likely surprise, not hostility. Defensive maneuvers then. In the space of the minotaur's blink we took five steps back. We tried to pull Negator from home, but the spell was interrupted. The mana of this place… its flow is abnormal somehow. Right. Let's hope it wasn't hostile then. We were out of sword range, but didn't have anything else going for us. It's not attacking. Or still confused. Well, we can't exactly fight it. Try me. No. Alright Nami, let's talk it out. "Uh, hi. What brings you out here?"

Knowledge, knowledge, knowledge. Casyra attempted to conjure up all that she knew about energy sources in deserts. Unsurprisingly, it was empty, given the fact that she'd lived in Kaladesh all her life. The only reason she was here was thanks to a stroke of genius joined by a touch of luck. Sure, maybe the portal took out everyone in a small, roughly 3.42 square decametre radius, but that was a small price to pay. She banished those images from her mind with ease. It's easier to concentrate when you're not pitying anyone, she tells herself. Just as she was drawing a hypothesis regarding the energy source based on her knowledge of Kaladeshi energy, she felt something push her to the ground. Turning up, she saw the towering, skeletal figure that just trampled her over. Casyra was upset. Not because she was hurt, because she'd been hurt far more in her field of study. Not because she was embarrassed. She was angry because she was being interrupted by a hulking, hideous undead to whom her illusions and siphons would do nothing. Revenge was tempting but probably unwise. Instead, she bit her tongue and prepared a spell to escape if needed. "Sorry for running into you," she said with hopefully concealed sarcasm. "I'll be on my way now." Casyra turned to leave on her way for the desert. Obscuring Mists Instant Return target nonland permanent to its owner's hand. If you controlled that permanent, create a 0/4 blue Elemental Wall creature token with defender and flying.

Neottolemo "Malkom? Eirik?" Orla wonders aloud. "It truly is you. But how?" Have they come to help? How did they find me? No, they wouldn't be alone, Igus is too far away. Poor Eirik looks tired and hungry. At least he has Malkom with him for protection. Suddenly remembering all of the manners she was supposed to show guests, she pulls out the bundle of food. Guests?! That's a silly idea. That life is... gone. "I have food, can we camp here for a little while?" she says. The exhaustion catching up, her legs feel weak.

Gar'Daren stares unblinkingly at the woman without blinking as she seems to have some sort of internal struggle. She is clearly not a menace, so he removes his hand from the hilt of his sword.
"Uh, hi. What brings you out here?" asks the stranger. The minotaur can't help but scoff.
"Work" he bellows barely moving his lips to a point where the woman may not even understand it. But he doesn't care, being polite was never his priority.
He gives her one last dismissive look and keeps walking.

korakhos So much for this place being interesting. Please. Getting in to a fight this quick helps us none. The minotaur turned and continued on its way, deaf to the argument in our head. Crisis averted, I guess. Darling, you scared off the only thing that might know how to get out of here. Right. Better butter him up now."Hey wait! I'm new in swamp, and was hoping someone could show me around, maybe just point me to the nearest source of work? Promise I won't be competing with you." Give em that winning smile! Darting Strike Instant Target creature you control deals damage equal to its power to target attacking or blocking creature. The direbear tottered, then crashed to the ground. Imago let out a deep sigh as she drifted down, alighting on the corpse. While she first believe the beast to be a sufficiently formidable foe, it quickly became apparent that it was much slower than she predicted. Imago had no trouble dodging its clumsy swipes, although it did take quite a bit of time to bring down. At the same time, a solid blow from one of those paws would likely have crippled her. She was lucky that its speed hadn’t increased in proportion with strength. Lucky. Again. Lucky to survive the fight. Lucky to repel the invaders. ...lucky to be born a queen. Imago shook her head, banishing her errant thoughts, then got down to the business of butchering her prey. Swiftly obtaining some claws and a massive canine tooth, she concluded the rest would unfortunately be left to rot and continued her trek towards the Viv Desert. ...or perhaps there was still a use for the body, she thought a few minutes later as a small black cat passed in front of her. The creature looked so innocent as it lashed its tail and stared, but those piercing eyes betrayed an uncanny intelligence. Imago looked further as the cat began to purr. Black. Dark magic. Has its witchcraft already been worked on me? If not... Imago’s heart beat a little faster. If not… it’s only a matter of time before it is. Before I am granted another burden. Another trial. Am I really considering this?As it turned out, she was. Imago cut another strip of direbear meat off of the steaming corpse and tossed it to Purrcy before leaping down and nabbing a piece of fruit off the forest floor. Once the two had sated their hunger, Imago again began flying towards the Viv Desert. Thankfully, the cat still followed. Their journey did not last long before they encountered another wanderer- one familiar to Imago… gateways7

The first thing that should have alerted Eris that something was wrong was the incessant buzzing that she heard from all around her. However, she chalked it up to exhaustion as she continued to trudge along to find Elisa. Then, Eris felt a dark presence seeping into the air, the ground, and her soul, and the buzzing only intensified. She knew something was wrong. She rolled behind a nearby rock and emerged with her bow drawn, facing down an insect holding a staff, staring at her in surprise, and an indifferent-looking black cat, of all things. "Explain why you're following me before I put an arrow between your eyes."melono augur (wasn't sure if i was supposed to tag if we've all done a thing, but i did it anyways.)

Eirik rushes forward to hug Orla, while Malkom stays a bit behind and lets them have a moment. He thought about how Eirik ran ahead of him, shouting Orla's name, putting himself in danger. He would need to talk to him about prudence, but not right now.
"We are so lucky to have found you again, Orla", Malkom says. An oasis of happiness among a desert of misfortune, he thinks. A desert... they needed to cross the Viv Desert, find Elisa. Later. He considers Orla's offer. Food. Was it truly her? He wonders. Could there be a chance that an assassin had been sent after Prince Eirik and him? Possibly. But it is unlikely that the usurpers knew about Elisa. To them, it would've looked like they were trying to cross the Viv Desert for an unbearable amount of time. A certain death. Still, one could never be too cautious. But, camp here? Without a shelter? Risky. His own stomach feels painfully empty. He tries to distract himself from it for a moment: he has more important things to worry about. He looks better at Orla. Her legs seem weak. He looked at Eirik. He is starving.
"This is a bad spot, but we need to eat. You two should also rest. We will take the risk and camp here. I will watch out for danger during the night." He'd keep an eye on the two of them as well as their surroundings.
Malkom begins a short prayer to the Heavenly Dragons before eating, hoping that they would make sure that the food was pure. Igus has no large military left, no warriors nor assassins to take back its kingdom: all that is left are the wits and hope of these three people that are now together again. Would they keep journeying together? Malkom takes a bite of food, and eats it slowly. After that, he asks Orla: "Where were you headed before you found us?"

Darla Darla instinctively stepped back as the being introduced itself. She had never met a creature like it before; it seemed like an elemental, but elementals were never that intelligent. Never changed their form to better mirror who they talked to. She wasn't even sure she'd met or heard of an elemental that could talk. Faint, shifting lights danced under her skin as she found herself calling upon a touch of radiant magic. Not using it for anything, but merely having it on hand helped bring her a sense of comfort. "I'm travelling to the Viv Desert," she eventually answers. She looks over the burning form once more. "Are you a native?"

herziquerziDivit felt the woman's confusion and wariness spike. Had they moved too quickly? No matter, it wasn't like they could redo this first impression. A charge of magic, though, weaving within the emotions. Like them, the woman seemed to be preparing her own magic, in case this went sour. Points for preparing for the worst, Divit mused. "Viv Desert?" Divit turned to look at the expanse beyond. "Is that the name of this place?" After a moment, they added, "And no. I am not from here, but from a land far away." For what was only a second to the human watching, Divit lost themself in the memories of Kaladesh, of Ghirapur: the vibrant forest Shalia's Claim, the whirring sounds of Weldfast, the whispers of the Prakhata Club. After that moment, they muttered, not quite a whisper, but lower than before, "Very, very far away." Divit realized with a start that their mind had wandered, their body now a cold, dark violet. They quickly resumed the color and form from before as they turned back to the woman. "Where are my manners? My name is Divit." A little too hastily, Divit closed the distance between the two. They extended a hand, palm upwards, their face crafted into an expression they hoped read as curiosity as they looked down at the shorter woman. "Might I ask your name?" (OOC: Yay! I get to keep writing! Quastion, how tall IS Darla? Divit likes to stand a good deal taller than most people, between seven to eight feet depending who they're talking to. Which in THIS case is probably going to bite them in the butt... XD )

okay I've seen some stuff here that starts to approach Bad RP Convention (quazerflame's emotional manipulation thing, zephyr altering the doggo's mind). it occurs to me after feedback that I should set up some kind of ground rule thing so everyone has a good time and no one feels like they're being too controlled in the range of stuff they get to do or having their character dictated to them by other players. I'll do a more specific declaration in the next lorepost but in this phase I'll just say this: if your partner tries to do stuff to you that you feel restricts your character writing or otherwise tries to exert power over the way you write, you get to not have that affect your character
