"Judgin' by that creation you sent me, I assume yer an artificer? I'm not that good at the subject myself but whatever helps to catch my prey. Speakin' of which..." He pulls out a crude little artifice for you to take a look over.
Snapping Snare Artifact If a creature entered the battlefield under an opponents control this turn, you may pay rather than this spell's mana cost and cast it as though it had flash. ,: ~ deals 1 damage to target creature.
The dragon doesn't even look up, but it feels as if he has made an unseen sneer.
Unstable Turret Artifact - Contraption (Contraptions begin the game in the Contraption deck until they get assembled. Contraptions go to the scrapyard when destroyed.) When ~ enters the battlefield, you may sacrifice a permanent. If you do, ~ deals 1 damage to target player or creature. When ~ leaves the battlefield, it deals deals 1 damage to target player or creature.
Raider Camp: Hmmmm a super soft land destruction in ...but it's turn 1 and also free. I think I'd feel more comfortable about it if said nonbasic - Vesuva would have a field day with this otherwise. 6/10
Apparition of the Bloody Fields: "Miroal?" The short gasp as the apparition appears from the ruined hovel is replaced by a frown. "No. Just a battle hungry spirit preying on my mind. Get out."
The spirit charges forward; where other dragons would've roared with magical breath, this one only gives a pained sigh as he chants a summon incanation. "Go. Dispose of the pest."
Clocktower Vandalist Creature - Veldalken Artificer Rebel , Sacrifice an artifact you control: Put ~ and target permanent on the bottom of their owner's libraries. 2/1 He topples monuments and moments alike.
Apparition of the Bloody Fields: A repeatable "burn spell"/ball lightning hybrid is an interesting concept. I feel like lifelink basically nulls the drawback though and that probably would've been more interesting as a 4/1 (or a 3/1 that pays 3 life) without lifelink. Solid idea and fine on its own but I can't help but wonder if its feels too risk free. 7/10
(Yeah, it's great to see BB's still doing well, even after all these years. XD I'll definitely shoot for an achievement/reincarnation in the summer.)
EDIT: Bishop: Seeing the trapper's snare trap the apparition before his familiar can reach it, the dragon turns his head and nods in approval. "You are quite efficient."

A being on a metal horse enters the dragon's domain, scanning the area. "Anyone here?", his voice echoes.
Scout's Steed Artifact - Vehicle Crew 2 Whenever CARDNAME deals combat damage to a player, draw a card. : CARDNAME becomes a creature until end of turn. Sacrifice it at the beginning of your next end step. "Not every mount needs a rider." 3/3
The Orc sees the lack of response as agreement to his claim.
I'm not fully sure how it negates my attack, are you sacing the land I tap. The card feels like a contraption I wouldn't want to get this contraption 5/10. I do agree the nonbasic was the right choice.
@misa - Was it a gift or you helping me defend from fluffy? Because depending on which it is fluffy should be rating in the latter case lol.
Alternatively, if you help defend a player while fulfilling your requirements with your cards, the attacker rates your card out of 10 as well. You gain half that rating in Valor/Score, rounded down. If the main defender doesn't respond with a card, either by choice or inaction, you may take full valor instead.
@sylph - Yeah, saccing the land you tapped to Clocktower Vandalist so that it can tuck Apparition. I should've been clearer with that, my bad.
Admittedly I'm trying something slightly different with Contraptions here to make them more black-border like - one keyword action in particular I might leave out of a lot of them is "crank" because the same thing can be accomplished for the most part with an upkeep step check.
@fluffy - In hindsight I compeltely forgot Red gets burn-to-exile lol.
"You seem a bit down, mister. Mind if we exchange tales?"
Birth of Llanowar Enchantment - Saga (As this Saga enters and after your draw step, add a lore counter. Sacrifice after III.) I: Add to your mana pool. II: Search your library for two Forest cards and put them onto the battlefield tapped. III: You gain 1 life for each land you control and 1 life for each creature you control.
A young man approaches during the dark night, battered and beaten up. His armor is still shining where no blood has covered the metal, but his face says that it wasn't enough to stop some bones from being broken.
As it sees Dracodeus, his breath stops, in horror.
"Where... where am I? W-what are you? Am I still in the Cave?"
He lifts up his right arm, putting his left in front of his own face, covering it from the blinding light that the gauntlet shoots out, revealing all around them.
Dazzling Gauntlet Artifact - Equipment Equipped creature has vigilance. , : Prevent all combat damage that would be dealt to and dealt by equipped creature this turn. Equip
"So, the dragon walks into the bar and the bartender asks 'why the long face?' and the dragon bellows his flames until everyone is dead. Funny, right?" asks the jester, grinning maniacally, a small metal object in her hand twisting into a flame like shape.
SILVER BORDER Multiplanar Prop Artifact : Choose the name of a noncreature artifact card you own(Either inside or outside the game). Say it 3 times fast, then ~ becomes a copy of that artifact until end of turn. If you stutter, sacrifice ~ instead. The bane of stick-in-the-muds everywhere.
"Just a dragon that doesn't belong." Dracodeus replies as he crawls down from one of the mountains near the novel, a strange elemental galloping alonside the sheriff's horse. "Are you in need of a new steed?"
Flintmare Creature - Elemental Horse Haste When ~ attacks, it gets +1/+0 for each artifact or Elemental you control. At the beginning of the end step, sacrifice Flintmare. 1/1 "Look at the mares that run unbridled with passion; tell me, have you ever been more fulfilled under your pantheon?" - Dracodeus, the Disbelieving
Scout's Steed: I'm always a fan of fresh takes on existing concepts and this guy delivers by being a powered-down twist on Copter with a rather useful aggro ability of his own. It is a little weird to imagine a Horse as an artifact but otherwise this is a perfect design mechanically IMHO. 9/10
Scribbl - "A quiet future for what is left of me."
Driven by the Past Sorcery Scry 2. (To scry 2, look at the top two cards of your library, then put any number of them on the bottom of your library and the rest on top in any order.) If an artifact card is in your graveyard, you may draw a card. "My greatest motivation is the eons of progress lost to my past." - Dracodeus, the Decrepit
Sanctum Scroll: Hm, a 4 mana colorless tutor for instants/sorceries. The closest thing that comes to mind is Peer Through Depths but that's instant speed and blue..... I'm not quite sure, honestly, but something doesn't feel right about a colorless tutor that is that broad at , even if it seems fair compared to Pieces of the Puzzle. I think this needs to cost a somewhere, probably in the ability. Either that or it should reveal the top cards of library and pick 1-2 instead, like Pieces. 5/10 (Mystical Teachings and Merchant Scroll also come to mind - the former costs requires while the latter is heavily restricted to blue instants.)
I'll do the rest at a later date. Burned out atm. (Am aware the [ card ] tag broke in this post btw, am leaving it up so mod team can figure out why it happened.)

"It's a most unique specimen, though a bit volatile for my tastes. Nonetheless, I appreciate the thought."
CARD: In a deck with this, you'll likely have maybe two or three artifacts by the time this comes out in addition to elementals and itself. I wonder if you could push this to or given the lack of trample, but this is interesting. 7.5/10.
That said, thanks guys! I'm still trying to explore what kind of artificer Dracodeus is (or perhaps more precisely, was), but maybe my occasional posts will hammer him out into something quite interesting.
"You will find I'm not quite suited to be a bard, but I will indulge."
Screecher of Folly Artifact Creature - Siren Horror When ~ dies, you may exile the top card of your library. If that card is a noncreature card with converted mana cost 3 or less, you may play it this turn. 2/2 "And with your works warped against your will, are you finally satisfied?" - The Time Wraith
Birth of Llanowar: Wow. Ramp is this good now? I mean, Song of Freyalise, perhaps, but this thing pays for itself really fast without even needing anything on the board and I suspect many monoGreen decks would make a very concerted effort to ramp into this early, either as counterspell bait or to get past counterspells for giant dude plays. What really worries me is that II - Green does not typically get to do better than Kodama's Reach's in most cases for 3 mana, and even if I treat the soft suspend as making it CMC 4-5 there's no denying this is much cheaper and less conditional than Hour of Promise and miles ahead of Explosive Vegetation I'd feel more comfortable if the II was Kodama's Reach or if you upped the cost to . Solid idea but risks being format warping with its effciency, I think. (or maybe make it Mythic? I think this legitimately might be History of Benalia good as is.) 6/10
"Newly awakened, I see." The dragon frowns and crawls out of sight as he throws up a veil of red mist to knock the knight back on the ground, then returns with what appears to be two metal teacups on a tray. "Welcome to the real scope of the worlds beyond you, Planeswalker. I am glad to see your ascension was far less miserable than mine."
Spitefire Cloak Artifact Whenever equipped creature attacks, it deals 1 damage to defending player. Equip It seeks only one target - the Wraith's heart.
Dazzling Gauntlet: So basically a Ghostly Possession that you can turn on or off. Not sure if the equipment should be tapping, especially if the creature has vigilance...did you mean to imply the creature taps? Interesting idea, at least, though I don't know if you needed to color lock the cost. 7/10
"Downers are born when idiots do stupid things." For such a beaten, quiet dragon, you can't help but wonder if those sparks of playful malice flickering in his eyes weren't imagined.
Deceiver of Seers Creature - Faerie Flying Whenever an opponent would draw a card, you may pay and sacrifice Deceiver of Seers. If you do, scry 1, then draw a card. (To scry 1, look at the top card of your library. You may put that card on the bottom of your library.) 1/1 "We were the ones who whispered the words of the dragon's command, from beginning to end."
Wild Curiosity: Red normally doesn't get Scry 2 (every color getting it was a Theros thing, if I recall correctly), but card advantage-wise it's a slightly more interesting, more controlled Cathartic Reunion. I can't say it's a bad idea, if not a bit plane-specific. 7/10
"You seem more like the type to fit between two loaves of bread at a nunnery." Dracodeus cracks his knuckles, almost as if habitually doing so. "I spun my humor at courts, not at taverns.."
Codesteel Spinerette Artifact Creature - Spider Shapeshifter :uncommon: As Codesteel Spinerette enters the battlefield, you may choose an artifact on the battlefield. If you do, Codesteel Spinerette enters the battlefield as a copy of that artifact. 2/2 "Mirror, mirror, on the wall. I am the finest mirror of them all."
Multiplanar Prop: A Mirror of the Forebears that is much more flexible if you remember what you want to name - could even prevent accessing the 'net for more 'fun'. Probably could fit alright in a Commander deck, kind of wish the FT had referenced an existing noncreature artifact though. 7/10
"No matter where you go there will always be idiots doing stupid things, so it is up to you to decide whether to feel down about it or turn it into a thrilling situation... If you're a downer it's because you choose to be one, so if you choose to keep being miserable the hey out of my way. Misery is boring, and I don't do boring..."
Deceiver of Seers: not Storm Crow 0/10 looks like a finely balanced card and a fitting response. 9/10.
ZephyrPhantom : Don't know if it can be pushed a bit farther, Spitefire Cloak looks cool nontheless. Don't have problems with it, so 9/10 The tapping was probably left from some idea I had before for the effect, that I didn't want to be repeatable >w<My bad With the red mist hitting him with its force, Morien tries to stay on his feet, but he falls to his knees. His muscles and his bones send pain surging through his body, while he lets out a groan. Morien doesn't shout: a knight that gives up to the pain was no knight at all. That is what the noble was taught by his brother.
He lifts his head up to see the strange creature returning with cups. His eyes look at the tray with suspicion and confusion, as he hears
"Planeswalker? Ascension?... What are you talking about? What is... what is that?", he points at whatever the cups hold with his right hand, concerned. Prudent Soldier Creature- Human Soldier Vigilance. , : Target attacking creature gets +0/+2 until end of turn. 1/2
"It's literally the most boring beverage I can think of. Tea." The dragon sighs and puts it to the side. "But if you don't trust me, so be it; you wouldn't be the first."
"Let me ask if your memory is intact, as least. Who are you and what is the last thing you remember?"
Prudent Soldier:Equal parts combat trick and interesting way to teach new players about the advantages of Vigilance. I think it would've been more interested if it gave +1/+1 or even first strike but that really depends on the set. 8/10
Cursed Olive Branch Artifact - Equipment Equipped creature has ", Sacrifice a permanent: Tap target creature." Equip ::1::
