Lady Mapi : Pleasant Dreams: cool simple and elegant design. 9/10. cyberchronometer : Celroen, the Pillar of Demise: not a huge fan of this template but the card itself is cool, so 9/10. Aylin know something is off when she has a pleasant dream for the first time in thirteen years. Then, the dream gives way to a nightmare, but even this feels odd. Even though it still terrifies her, compared to what she dreams about daily, this seems pretty tame. Someone has to be behind this! She wakes up with a cold sweat and exits her tent. She notices the tear, and what she sees through it vaguely reminds her of the Blind Eternities. She calculates how wide the opening is and raises a spike that should be capable to go through it."Let's see what happens if is send something the other way" she says, shooting the spike towards it.Rough Awakening Sorcery Until end of turn, if you would draw a card, you may exile the top card of your library instead. If you do, that card deals damage equal to its converted mana cost to a creature, planeswalker or player of your choice. Answering both cards at once. Use Pleasant Dreams to exile top card, Call for Aid to exile Nameless Race, dealing 4 damage to Celroen!
@fleur de Violet: Tommy Wiseau of the Eternities: that's a pretty interesting sacrifice clause, it prevents it from being a Phyrexian Arena. Not sure about the double Doom Blade with upside, but I'm pretty sure it's fine. Again, that first ability prevents it from going too out of control. 8/10. Aylin feels unsettled, there's a strange presence surrounding her, and she would even dare say it's trying to torture her. Is Malextros back yet again?! This whole situation reminds her of the day of her ascension, and she hates being reminded of that moment! She remembers his death clearly. He was lucky the Blind Eternities got to him first. Even though she wasn't nearly as powerful as she was now, if she'd been able to do it, she would used all her power to tear him to pieces. She was sure her rage, sadness, despair and humilliation would have fueled a spell so devastating he wouldn't have been able to do anything about it...Geomancer's Rage Sorcery Each player chooses five lands they control and sacrifices the rest. ~ deals X damage to each player, where X is the number of lands sacrificed this way. "Pray that you never see me truly angry."-Aylin, the Geomancer(Note: this is Aylin fantasizing about what she would've done, not her punching yet another hole in the Arena)

"Oh Spirits, you're so pretty! ... Ahem, sorry..." Seiva clears her throat. "Seiva Zeni, project head of Entela's Eternity Project for Interplanar Development. You mind if I ask you about the places around here?"Interplanar Development Sorcery Each player reveals the top card of their library. Each player who revealed a land card this way draws a card. For each nonland card revealed this way, you draw a card.

WindyDelcarlo : Interplanar Development: hmmm, you clearly want to play this in multiplayer since it varies so much and worse case scenario you're paying two mana and giving your opponent a card to draw one card that your opponent gets to see. I do believe it should be too. 7/10. "What did you just call me?" responds Aylin as she faces the stranger. She stomps on the ground, causing the place where Seiva is standing to be lifted with enough strength and speed to launch the woman upwards, as though she and Aylin were on a see-saw.Surprise Instability Instant ~ deals 2 damage to target creature. , Discard a land card, Exile ~ from your graveyard: ~ deals 2 damage to target player. (Draw land with your card, use it as fuel)

I lightly balance on the risen stone. How much energy can I afford to use? I'm basically quickcasting everything. Maybe a bunch of low-concentration spells are better? People from other planes are strange. I should be way more careful about what I say, right? How could I be more careful than a compliment? "I said you were pretty. On Volaria we don't normally take that as an insult." I frown at the purple-haired woman. "Is it a common insult where you're from?"Surprise! I could imagine this showing up in a land heavy limited environment, so this seems fine. 8/10 Best Intentions Instant Target opponent chooses a creature. Best Intentions deals 4 damage to that creature.

Walking up to the bird I saw her presumably dyed hair and vicious attitude from a mile away. No butts this time, needed to hit up a shopkeep sometime. "Hey there." he said, taking out a flask and taking a swig. He offered it to her. "Want a drink?" Easiest way to calm someone down was to get them smoked. Made 'em talk easy too.Dirty Flask Artifact - Clue , sacrifice ~: Gain 2 life. , , sacrifice ~: Draw a card. "Something was off about the drink - stiff, like the corpse."
Translations: bird - slightly derogatory term for woman butts - cigarettes smoked - drunk

WindyDelcarlo : Best Intentions: I would've never expected a card with this name to be a burn spell XD. A bit fringe on its uses since you clearly need your opponents to control all the creatures. I can see it appearing in Constructed but probably not in Limited since that's where you want to have creatures most of the time. 8/10. "I said you were pretty. On Volaria we don't normally take that as an insult. Is it a common insult where you're from?""Calling someone pretty isn't an insult. Lying to them is..." replies Aylin bitterly "You want to know about the places around here? Ask someone who cares about them... All I can tell you is this is my turf, so if you're gonna stay here, you better be respectful!"Violent Rebuttal Instant Until end of turn, target creature gains "Whenever this creature is dealt damage, it deals that much damage to any target." "Sticks and stones may break my bones... but I can use them to break yours!" gurfafflekins : Dirty flask: pretty simple common, 9/10. Aylin hears the man speak and turns around to face him. "Not from you..." she replies impassively.Malicious Intent Instant Until end of turn, whenever an opponent draws a card, you draw a card and you lose 1 life.

"I didn't... lie, though? I'm sorry you feel like I did, though." I check my transciever. Arina asked me to return for lunch, so I suppose I should do so. "I should be heading out. I'll be more careful the next time we meet."
I think considering Arcbond and burn spells, this can afford to be a mana cheaper. 7/10

Lady Mapi, you'll need to rate Celroen since it's an "aid" against your "attack." The spike flies through the opening and sails out of sight. The tear shudders and widens, the hostility feels... somehow tempered. When it steadies itself, it seems... perhaps large enough to enter.(Counterattack on my board, if you want to step into the nightmare hole—but do you really want to?)

I hold the flask out in offering for another moment, before I shrug. "More for me." I say, taking another swig. God, that tasted good. Putting it back in my coat, I wipe my mouth with my sleeve. "Name's Detective Rolt. As you can guess from the title, I've got some questions. Specifically about a man who met the big one himself, name was Aiden. Heard the term 'Sunspear' somewhere too. Know him?" he takes out a notepad, ready to write.
Detective's Notepad Artifact Whenever an opponent activates an ability of a creature or land that isn't a mana ability, you may investigate. , : Investigate. Artifact tokens you control have hexproof. "Can't lose the info if you keep a backup."
Malicious Intent: Never been a big fan of "until end of turn" stuff like this on instants/sorceries. At worse, this is one draw and 1 life because beginning of turn/just die because they draw 20 cards and this isn't a may. At best, some solid draw, maybe could slot at uncommon? Not sure how it would affect limited at any slot. 9/10. Translations: met the big one - met death; big one - d ack faydeneath

Celroen, the Pillar of Demise Legendary Planeswalker — Demesne Whenever a creature becomes untapped, put a -1/-1 counter on it. Whenever a player activates an ability of a planeswalker, remove a loyalty counter from it. Celroen, the Pillar of Demise could do with a little bit less loyalty, given how oppressive it is. Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons into Obelisk Spider into Celroen sounds like a bit of a nightmare, to be honest. I'm giving this a 3/5. This is totally unrelated to you ruining my "hurt Aylin by making her experience happiness" plan.

Lady Mapi : sorry to bother you but you forgot to rate my card XD (I know, this whole business was a bit confusing) gurfafflekins : Detective's Notepad: I think this could cost , I love the last clause, though. 8/10. "What about Aiden?" asks Aylin, not really knowing what 'met the big one' means "He said goodbye to me the other day, said it was probably the last time we'd see each other, so I assume he just planeswalked away from this place" she adds without really caring much about the soldier's fate.I'll probably be doing that myself soon she thinks, realizing how stale things have gotten in the last few days.Up and Gone Sorcery Until end of turn, each noncreature, non-Equipment artifact noncreature artifact becomes an artifact creature with power and toughness each equal to its converted mana cost. "I could swear I left the stove here..."-Wrecker, Goblin ArtificerAll your clues are gone, then I Call for Aid to cast Throttle on Detective's Notepad.

Rough Awakening is a really neat build-around card. It's like the logical next step of evolution for hellbent! A 10/10, would play again... immediately followed by a Wheel of Fortune.

I looked at her, raising an eyebrow. He said he was going to planeswalk and come back... which means he didn't plan on dying. Now he had two differing testimonies... hmm. The 7's could be trusted, but this dame seemed to have talked to the victim directly. "He never made it that far. He was found dead in his home yesterday." he said, scribbling on his notepad.Bad Tidings Sorcery Surveil 2, then target player puts the top X cards of their library into their graveyard, where X is the number of instants and sorceries in your graveyard. "This was the worst possible outcome - told the worst possible way."Up and Gone: Neato, accidentally repeated noncreature clause but whatevs. Seems okay to me, though I might push it to . 9/10. Evil Coco : Your entry is lacking P/T, so I'll refrain from judgment until you can edit it in. gurfafflekins : "Neato, accidentally repeated noncreature clause but whatevs." then it must have appeared at least once more because I could've sworn I'd deleted the extra "noncreature" XD! Bad Tidings: I wracked my brain trying to figure out how this answered my card, then remembered who was attacking who XD! Super solid design, and I like how it plays with old school Dimir trying to mill your opponent. 9/10. "He never made it that far. He was found dead in his home yesterday." "Huh" is all Aylin can muster. There is clearly confusion in her face, but nothing resembling sadness or pity or rage. Inside she's feeling the same way: just confused. A part of her is instigating her to feel guilt. Aiden helped her, after all, he went to face Malextros, he was even hurt during... Was that it?! Had that wound been silently killing him despite Hanska's actions? Had he died because of her?! "I was unaware of that, he just made it sound as though he was leaving, nothing he did suggested he was dying..." she replies matter-of-factly. Inside, though, the weight of guilt is beginning to settle. This is why she doesn't get attached to others... Hurtful Guilt Instant ~ deals 3 damage to any target. When ~ is put into your graveyard from your library, you may pay and exile it. If you do, ~ deals 3 damage to any target. Don't ever think you're safe from the weight of guilt.

I nodded. "That's what I'd like to ask some more questions about. I'm a detective, see? I'm trying to find out what happened to the guy." I said, and started to ask more questions. Though as I asked more, I knew she'd already given me the only new information I would get from this meeting.
Hurtful Guilt: Neat bolt variant. Seems pretty good in self mill or anti mill. I'd say might want to have the pitch cost shock instead, but that makes it inconsistent? I don't know, feels a little weird. 9.5/10 put practice what I preach so 10/10.

As Aylin walks through the mountainous area she's been calling her home for the past few months, she ponders the events that have happened lately: her friendship to Kirino and how it ultimately ended in tragedy, the whole incident with Malextros, the promise of becoming strong enough to defeat the Atlas of Worlds, the adventure with Vera and the others... She's been filled with thrills since she first stepped into this place. And then the nightmare came... Seeing Darios in that dream triggered something she never thought would be triggered. She misses her friend, but as long as she has the Gem of Allure on her she'll never be able to. For the briefest of moments, she considers leaving it behind, but that would be giving up, that would make her a quitter, and that's the one thing she is not. Besides, even after Malextros's defeat he came back, and there's no predicting whether or not he'll return, so it can't be left unattended, and she can't entrust it to anybody else. She chose this burden, and even though she never thought she'd see it as one, she's carrying it till the end. Maybe she can find a way to destroy it, the same way Darios is probably looking to destroy the Gem of Obedience right now. Whatever the case, the Gem is staying with her and that's final, but it's time for her to move on. She takes one last look at her surroundings, then smiles. "The one thing I can't deny..." she says to the plane itself "Is that you were never boring." A few seconds later she's no longer there.AYLIN HAS LEFT THE ARENA!

One second, there's nothing in the forest other than trees and the occasional sound of a wild animal. The very next, the leaves on the trees shake violently as a figure shoots past them, hitting against multiple branches in the process. The aven drops his weapon as he braces for impact as he spirals down, then lands flatly on his back."Dammit, right in the bad wing!" screams Rwaffan as pain spreads through his crippled wing. He imagines Camata yelling at him for letting the pain take control of him and he immediately gets up on his feet. Half a meter away from him, he finds his weapon and picks it up. "Whatever this place is, it's not a part Alara I know..." he says looking around him at the strange flora and fauna that surrounds him.RWAFFAN HAS ARRIVED AT THE ARENA!Art by pinkhavok

Rwaffan was a sigiled knight of Bant. Proud and abnegated, he served his nation in times of peace and war. However, everything changed after the Conflux. Rwaffan was sent alongside an aven army to defeat a dragon from Jund that had been terrorizing some villages, and in trying to do so, his left wing was hurt, the bones breaking and rendering it useless. He was soon captured by a Nacatl tribe and made a prisoner. At first, Rwaffan patiently waited for his people to rescue him, but as days turned to weeks and weeks turned to months, he realized he was all alone, and began despising his former people, renouncing his sigils. As time went by, he proved to be an asset to the tribe that held him hostage, and he eventually was accepted among them, training under their harsh leader Camata until he developed combat abilities he never thought himself capable of. One day, while on the hunt of a baloth that was roaming the tribe, Rwaffan tripped and fell from a tree. His landing would put him right in front of the baloth's path. Not wanting to be trampled to death, he instinctively opened his wings and, even though he didn't receive proper care when he injured his left one and therefore it never healed, he was able to keep himself in the air long enough to only get hit by the baloth's side. He was sent flying away, but the pain from using his broken wing and the adrenaline rush of the whole situation triggered his spark. He was shot into the Blind Eternities and landed in the Arena...

gurfafflekins: Experienced Swordsman seems fine, but I believe it could afford an extra point of power. 9/10. As soon as Rwaffan sees the man he takes a defensive stance. He quickly draws a dagger, which flies towards the man but lands at his feet, just a few centimeters short of his foot. Did the aven miss or was it a warning? "If you want to speak, first get rid of that thing on your shoulder" he says coldly as he points at Callie.Territorial Brute :5::G:G: Creature - Beast :rare: Whenever one or more creatures attack you or a planeswalker you control, you may have ~ fight one of those creatures. 5/7 Its territory is ten times its size. Callie swaps shoulders and seems to make a small growl into Bell's ear. He ignores it. "Careful what you call her, birdbrain." he says, pushing his cloak back to put a hand on the hilt of his sword. Rwaffan uses his spear to lift the fallen dagger and shoots it towards his left hand. As he grasps it, the spear swiftly realigns and points menacingly at Bell. "I just call things what they are, you see a piece of shit smeared on the ground, you call it shit; you see me, you call me a bird; I see a dragon, I call it a thing I don't want near me, and I'm being generous!" he glares maliciously at Callie, the weapons in each of his hands still held up "Are you sure you want to fight?
